Good day emmasoft et al, if one wants to invest N15m in Mutual fund, which investment firms can give the individual the best ROI and the rate?
I will give my suggestion with the following assumptions
That you are a Conservative investor, you want to have capital guaranteed and possibly interest,
Going for long term and want a sec regulated firm.

Base on this I suggest you do mmf and fixed income fund. 60% mmf and 40% fixed income

I recommend Stanbic ibtc money market fund with rate at 10.28% and reinvestment every month.

SFS fixed income fund. Rate at 11.04% and re-investment quarterly.
For both, interest is earned daily.

Good day, please what investment firms have the best Mutual Fund rates and the rates? Thanks so much in advance!
Your question is too wide.
You need to be specific as per what you really want.
We have so many mutual funds and Fund managers with different underlying assets, fund sizes and different operating conditions under sec supervision and moreover this is stocks thread you can go to mutual funds thread perhaps after going through some pages you will be fine.

Though what we need in this business is transparency and efficiency.
Of course, everything is open. Technology has helped in that regard. Brokerage commission is the same for both buying and selling.
Please note all other charges are statutory and go to the regulators. It's only the brokerage commission Ione has power over.

Oga Locodemy please come onboard Investment One everything u need dey there and don't forget to use my link o

Meanwhile, all your answers from all the different contributors - @ymcy56, @otomatic etc are correct on DCS (Direct cash settlement) ie cscs dealing with investors directly as per proceeds from sales, and DMA (direct market access) ie ability to cancel trades during market sessions.

Investment One gives DMA so you can place and cancel orders during trading hours. However, you will need to request after your account is opened as already pointed out by one of the contributors.

Please note that all customers can trade online without DMA, the only difference is that a customer with DMA can cancel a trade he/she is no longer interested in during trading hours while a customer without DMA can only cancel a trade between 4pm and 7am.

Hello everyone,
I am new here.
I have few questions

My Dangote flour mills shares payment has not been made by the registrar. Crescent registrars keeps saying it's until SEC approves it. This has been going on since early last year. What can I do about it

My second question is I have IBTC share i bought during their IPO, I want to sell it but my broker UNEX capital says it not with them since I bought it myself. I collect dividend for it directly in my account. The question is how can I sell the shares I didn't buy through a broker.

Thanks
The shareholders of DFM have been paid off for about three years now or so by Olam. I guess that is why there is a bottleneck. Actually, it can only be done through the registrars so you just need to be on their neck.

For IBTC shares since you bought from the primary market, you suppose to have the certificate. If you don't have it, visit First Registrars with your means of identification to complain of no certificate. At the registrar's office, you will be given a form to be processed by your broker. When they are through with the process, you will have the shares in your cscs account and will be able to sell yourself if they have an online platform or you give a sell mandate to your broker.

Some ways MMF can be useful

1. A safe way to keep cash with capital guaranteed
2. Sure interest even though with a low rate
3. Saving for targeted item or project
4. Emergency fund
5. Acting as collateral for loans (asset banked loan)
6. Proof of funds for embassies

Greetings,

I saw some people commenting on the new investment One App. I noticed it last week too. However, I am stuck at funding the wallet (either for stockbrokering or fixed deposit). Aside using card (I usually don't use ATM to fund account) and GTB token, how do I fund my wallet? Like is there no account details to transfer funds and how is their processing time. I would love to compare their services with my current broker (chaka). Aside recurring down time (and some minor stuffs), I am quite okey with Chaka.
Want to test IOne because of asset back loans I saw some Ogas discussing of few weeks back.

On Cap Plc, pls has anyone received dividend income. I got two mails from AfriPrud confirming dividend deposit while I have not received any. I had to even check using bank mobile app.

As regards testimony. I would love to thank every here for their input since I started following the Thread my portfolio met a significant busstop/mark. Not minding the 'skekilin amount', it's a significant for me considered starting point since convid 19.

@ sisMCy, I evaluated my trading over two years, I now admit I am more (95℅) of a trader than investor, with little patience like Loco. Lolz.
To get the best from the new investment one app, I will advise you to open a regular stockbroking/cscs account, once you download the app it's automatically linked to your trading account and you will be able to trade on the app or the web.

Most times I advise clients to fund their trading accounts using the normal bank transfer with their bank app or internet banking with no extra charges apart from the normal bank charges but with a card, you pay some extra charges because a third-party payment system is involved.

You can client the link on my signature to open an account and thereafter download the app seamlessly you will have automatic linking to the trading floor through the app.

There is a GTBank account you can always transfer your investment funds into for your trading. Check the attached file to this post to see various method to fund your account. The one I use personally is the GTBank.

I suggest that dividends not paid into the client's bank account should be credited into the client's stockbroking account balance through which he bought the shares, pending when the client is able to access these funds via his stockbroking house.
This suggestion is good but it will be difficult to implement because not all shares were bought on the floor of the NGX.
Some were bought during primary market activities.
Many that bought from the floor have no proper kyc documentation, not only that some of the firms have gone under so it will be difficult to trace.

I think the method they are trying to use now is good started about two years ago just that many registrars are not up to speed.

What SEC in particular is aiming at now is for proper kyc documentation for existing investors and at the point of entry through the stockbroking firm with details transmitted to CSCS and the registrars.

We hope this work. You know Nigerians both individuals and corporate Until one policy will come to shake them compliance is very low always.
I believe we get it right some day.

My Ogas, which App do you use for buy stocks? I am a newbie and I want to start investing.

I am also interested in being directed to resources I can read or listen to that will improve my economy and investment knowledge.

Thank you.
As a newbie, I will advise you not to jump because of what you see currently in the market. Take time to read and seek knowledge, since you are already here it's a good way to start reading. read, read! read o. Stock investment is a marathon, not a sprint.

Part of the knowledge and how to equip yourself is to open a stockbroking account from a regulated firm and you can now link the acctount with their app or web portal to do your trading.

Some folks here always have one or two issues because they always go to apps before actually going through the traditional cscs account opening.

You can click the third link on my signature to open a stockbroking account with Investment One Stockbrokers Ltd
You will also have the opportunity to be tutored on how to navigate the NGX.

Which kain amateurish advice be this? Oga instead of me to put my money in those useless naira instruments, I swear I will rather chop life with the money. I have learnt the hard way.

If you must invest in naira instruments, you are better off taking much greater risks in the real sector and hoping for huge returns or losing the money and knowing you tried.

Imagine saving all your retirement in these useless instruments, only to find out that your money can only last a few months. Is it not better to blow it now? angry
Life is full of choices and there are opportunity costs attached to all choices.
If your choice helps to meet your objective by all means stick to it.
Thank you.

Oh okay. Yes as @sgtponzihater1 pointed out, you don't need to ring them everything will be updated tomorrow.

Please note for MMF, interest is earned daily but maybe because of one reason or another which could be technical or otherwise; your earnings may not be posted that doesn't mean you have lost your interest. The arrears will definitely be posted. No cheating, earning interest on your capital is automated.

Again all accrued interests during weekends and public holidays will always be posted on the next business day even though it has been earned two or three days earlier.

Yes, interest accrues every day including weekends and public holidays on your current capital.
However, any new deposit made during weekends or public holidays starts to enjoy interest from the next working day.

Tohmey:
Gooday great Investors,
Pls how do mutual fund works?
And how does fixed income works? And what are the benefit of investing on them?
THANKS IN ADVANCE
MUTUAL FUNDS

As @sgtponzihater1 advised you can check my previous posts to get more on the subject.

In the meanwhile, check a summary below:

Simply put mutual fund is a pull of funds(money) from different investors which is managed by professionals - fund managers who in turn invest the money into assets as described by the type of mutual funds:

Types of mutual funds:
Money market fund
Fixed income/bond fund
Equity fund,
Balance fund etc

So fixed income fund is a type of mutual fund.

The first two are low risk and the others are riskier.
The level of risk of mutual funds depends on the underlying assets

A money market fund basically has treasury bills and commercial papers as the underlying asset

Fixed income/Bond fund has the FGN bond, and some money market instruments as underlying assets

Others like the balance fund have equities/stocks together with other money market instruments while equity funds are purely equity-based.
As a newcomer, I will recommend money market and fixed-income funds by the time you gain more confidence you could add others that are riskier.

One major advantage of mutual funds investment is that you have professionals who manage your investment.

Money market and fixed income funds rates are valued daily but that of fixed income is less volatile in terms of frequency of change.

To come on board Stanbic money market fund 10.26% and SFS fixed income fund 11% just click the link on my signature to register and start investing.
As pointed out earlier you can as well reach out to me with my displayed contact.

I wish you a fruitful investment journey.
