PPR alert!!!

God has done it for me oooo. SOWP approved!

SOWP Application submitted....March 26th, 2022.
Biometrics instruction letter......March 27th, 2022.
Biometrics completed....March 30th, 2022.
Upfront medicals.....March 31st, 2022.
Medicals passed......April 12th, 2022.
Eligibility review....June 14th, 2022.
BVL and PPR..... June 14th, 2022.

Visitor's Visa for son....March 27th, 2022
Biometrics and medicals...same as above
Medicals passed....April 7th, 2022.
Eligibility.....Not started
PPR....still hopeful.

All IMM forms completed as usual. Also included are my study permit, Visa page, proof of enrollment, school fees receipt, student ID card, invitation letter, SOP, land documents with estimated forced sale value, Bank statement from my account here in Canada showing about $10k CAD, mybankstatement certificate of spouse account showing about N1.6m (turnover of above N10m) with the CAD equivalent stated, Proof of relationship with wedding pictures and marriage certificate, ID cards of wife's parents and siblings to substantiate claims of home ties, CAC documents showing myself, wife and son listed as directors and shareholders of a limited liability company, wife in her business premises, etc

The only new thing I did recently was my current transcript showing my result for winter term 2022 that I sent through webform and emails. First, they rejected adding the transcript claiming that the email is associated with more than one applicant and so they can't attach it to the application. I raised another webform and also sent emails explaining that I used same email address for my child's visitor's Visa application since he is a minor and that explains why the email is associated with more than one application. I believe that resolved it and they accepted the document.

Now, I'm praying and hoping that my son's visitor's Visa is approved soon so that we can send the 2 passports together for stamping.

Its appears they have shifted focus now towards SOWP and the processing times will gradually reduce.

I pray this good news will get to everyone here that have a pending application. There seem to be no hard and fast rule as to how IRCC processes applications.

In all, I return all the praise and glory to God who made this possible. Truly, there is nothing the Lord cannot do. Na God get power pass.

Some things are better left unsaid because the person might never understand until its personally experienced. Summer is almost here and the "persecution" can get worse especially when you're single here. I say no more!

You don’t need to show POF for two years if you are sponsoring yourself . IRCC requirement is for you to show cost for a minimum of 1 year .

This is not absolutely correct.

If you're self sponsored for more than one year program, you need to either show proof of fund for the entire duration of your studies (since you're not relying on the 20hrs/week work allowance to pay your fees) or you can show very convincing proof of source where the remaining year of study will be funded from. It's just a rational requirement.

Don't tell us someone has self sponsored and showed one year fund before. Such person might just be one of the lucky few with very lenient VO.

I wish everyone awaiting approval here success. For the ones that their applications were 'delayed', you'll definitely get there if only you don't give up. Keep pushing!

Yes today i finally confirmed that sowp whether stand alone or with study permit or with visit visa is only issued if the degree of the sowp applicant fall under the profession termed essential. Although most times when a study permit is attached to it the application is treated faster. Aside this i also realised that those of us that has sowp application active with IRCC and still apply for VV with the aim to fast track sometimes get deniel the VV this is because u need to convince the VO that when the VV elaspses even while ur sowp application is still in process you will leave canada at the end of your stay. Based on this the VO sometimes deniel such VV with just flimsy excuses of mainly hometies because they want somerhing very tangible enough to bring back such individual. So getting Sowp is basically subject to essential job request little wonder why the medical field has a better approval rate. With these my findings today am even scared the more to apply for visit visa.

Does the bolded in any way imply that an international student whose spouse is not a graduate cannot apply for SOWP?

I mean, when answering the questionnaire, if one says NO to the question asking if you have any post-secondary education outside Canada, will the outcome be ineligible at the end of the questionnaire?

Can one use an email different from the one used to submit a visa application to schedule biometric?
Because I tried multiple times to use gmail to book biometric but the activation mail has not been sent for more than 30mins now, whereas when a yahoo mail address was used to book, the activation mail dropped instantly in the yahoo mail box. It was the gmail address that was used for the visa application.
Please advice.

Consider that what they will use to link your biometrics to your application is not your email but your other details like passport number, date of birth, personal details on biometrics instruction letter from IRCC, etc

So, you can use an email different from the one used to apply for Visa.

I applied for SOWP for myself and Visitor's visa for my son , submitted when my spouse was still in Nigeria and he left for Canada August. Even though, I read on here to wait till he gets to Canada but i just did not want to take chances and backed it up with prayers,trust me i got tired most of the time because of the wait. Anyhoo... God has done it oooooh.

The week my spouse travelled, he sent me his study permit and i uploaded it for myself and my son via webform and also via email. After submission on the 1st of June, when my spouse got to Canada in August i added the following docs:

June 1st Application Submitted (Mine and son)
June 4th Upfront medical updated (upfront medical)
November 19th. IRCC requested for additional docs (Birth Cert for my son and consent letter from his Dad to allow him travel with me)

Requested for 1st GCMS note in August received on the 30th of October in that GCMS note eligibility was blank, medical and criminality passed while my info sharing was still in progress

Second GCMS on the 27th of October yet to receive it

IRCC requested for consent letter and birth certificate for my son 19th of November ,sent same day

Eligibility review started for my son and I on the 19th of November

Sent all sorts of emails and enquiries contacted a couple of MPs (Kitchener and London Ontario sent enquiries to IRCC on our behalf too).The MP in London ,Ontario contacted IRCC for us in October and they came back to say they would finalize our application in January 2022 ,I said abi they were joking ni, well instead of getting mad at the messenger sebi na help he kuku do me. I took the response and processing time he mentioned to Jesus.

Before then, i requested for travel exemption for my son and I got an authorisation as per subject of the email in September 2021 for my son only. In the course of this application, i also renewed my Nigerian Passport because the one i applied with was meant to expire January 2022, after the renewal i updated it with a webform.

If your spouse has a Study TRV for now abeg apply ooooooooo ,i did and God did it for me and my son, he will do yours too.Waiting on God to come through was not easy, i was strong and weak at the same, seeing people share their testimonies here i did wonder when mine would land ,finally it has landed and i just want to say thank you to Abba Father.

I am writing this to encourage my peeps that are waiting because our peeps that shared their Sowp journey also encouraged me while I waited for mine. I would not say you should not worry cause arghh mo worry gan ni but try not to worry too much which I know is easier said than done and I prayed, I stopped praying and I continued praying again,God i prayedddddddddd .(KO FUNNY RARA)

Recently I paid for Airbnb for 195.36usd with GTB Mastercard when I learnt the limit has been increased to 200usd / month and it worked! I'm sure visa fee is not up to that.

Can you give a review on the cost of Airbnb as compared to a regular renting of apartment? Is the amount you paid for a day/week?

There was a general delay around that time you applied. I got mine after 2 months.

I booked with KLM for December(Lagos to Montreal) on their website and chose the option to pay into their bank account while checking out. A mail was sent containing the bank account details and my booking reference. I called the phone number in the mail to get their USD/NGN conversion rate for the day and made the transfer. They confirmed the payment almost immediately and I now have my ticket. Please ensure you put only your booking code as reference while transferring the money.

You may want to do the same or go to their office if you prefer in-person service.

CAQ - Certificat d'acceptation du Québec. (Quebec Certificate of Acceptance). It's a mandatory document obtained by international students who wish to study in Quebec province.

BFS - Unfortunately, I don't know what this means.

Now please order for your GCMS notes and when its ready share with us on this thread, let us see if this is the same Visa Officer(AH03849) that approved your application or not...

You're taking the right step. Book for your medicals and biometrics and get a date. All things being equal, you'll get biometrics instruction letter a day after submitting your application. With this, you can do both medicals and biometrics before returning to your base.

Evidence of hotel booking or Airbnb reservation that proves she will not share the space or bathroom and convenience. Please read the requirements for unvaccinated travellers on IRCC website for more and updated info.

I assume she actually took the vaccine. Why don't you go to the vaccination centre and rectify the issue with the vaccination details not showing online instead? It will save you a lot of stress and expenses.

Brother Good morning please my mom and I were at MM airport that Friday she was supposed to fly with Ethiopian airways but they sent her back I only accompanied her to the airport. They said because when they scanned her Covid vaccine card it didn’t reflect that she has taken 2 dose. But she had her negative Covid 19 test result. They didn’t allow her board it was painful ehh. So I was wondering if that’s the same process they used for everyone this past Friday. Especially that witch Ethiopian airways stuff the one with glasses and big yansh. I didn’t take note of her name.

I posted here a couple of weeks back that anyone that is fully vaccinated should verify that they updated it correctly online before proceeding to travel. This could have been avoided if you checked online and go back for it to be corrected. The same thing happened to me. Thank God I noticed it at the vaccination centre and insisted they correct it.

Meanwhile not allowing your mum to board is strange. They would have insisted she update the Arrive Can app and treat her as unvaccinated traveller if she can show quarantine plan. This must have been one of those overzealous staff. Sorry for the inconveniences.

If your second vaccine is more than 14 days day as at the time you are at Canada, you might need to quarantine.

The VO may observe the trend of transactions on the account statement and have a cause to suspect the fund may be borrowed. In this case the applicant can get a request to submit updated POF. If the money is gone or was immediately replaced again before sending the statement it may mean the fund was borrowed and may not be available for the purpose of study.

To be on a safer side, if you can, leave the money. If you have compelling reasons to take out part of the fund, let it be for very short term. This is me assuming you sincerely own the fund.

If you do not stay in Lagos, you can have Police Character Certificate processed for you remotely as you can fill and scan back the documents/passports including your fingerprints. You may want to reach out to Inspector Moshood on 08034747802. I got his digits on previous threads. Cost ranges from 5k to 7k depending on your negotiation power.
