cuteguy201: It would be awkward for me to post something that wasn't verified by me yet.
As indictated in my N.B. towards the end of my post, I got my refund mail 2 days ago and due to work schedule, I was unable to share immidiately. So by answering your question on withholding information, I only waited for the right time to release and I doubt two days is too long a time to withold the information.
You can agree some members do not post landed stories or PPR testimonies immediately. That's perfectly okay to avoid misleading others. I guess it was just a coincidence that the information came up about same time you were having the experience. In another news, some overzealous fellow said I attacked you in a subtle manner just because I asked a question. It's good you didn't see it that way too. Wish you and everyone else, including myself a happy ending in this pursuit. #Shalom |

Maxxyfruit: Does the above explanation mean that the refund can only be requested for after evaluation is complete?? I think that's what it technically implies, because there seems to be no way around it when applying. Also, with WES giving reference number after payment, its logical to assume you will get a tailored attention by quoting your reference number in your correspondences. |

Kontagious: This your post hook me for one corner I can't explain sha... Choi.
Cuteguy201 appreciated your post (and clarified) in good faith but in return you attacked his gesture albeit subtly.
Although not yours but you posted it and probably took ownership by the disclaimer, let's take a look at your point four in steps to recall the tax charged and also remember the disclaimer you put does not cover a disparity of the point, I'd recopy so you don't go scrolling up "You will get an instant auto generated mail after submitting followed by the confirmation of refund mail in 72 hours"
Then Let me answer your query with some questions.
How will you feel when folks come in droves to say, I applied 3 days ago (to put it at minimum) but I am yet to get an auto response talk-less of a refund?
What will be your response then? How do you expect him to come forward with what was yet to be verified to be true?
He waited nothing less than 50 days to get the refund which I believe is the applicable timeline... Koko sha, I'd rather go with a first hand experience than follow yours of hearsay (3 days)... My take.
PS: I applied January 8 and got the same refund mail about 3 days back, yet to confirm money has been paid though. Buhahahahahaha... Subtle ko, disclaimer ni.... Please steer clear if you've got nothing else to say other than what you typed up here. |

cuteguy201: Hi, This is true but I would like to make some clarifications on some parts not totally true as I have gotten the mail for my HST refund.
1. The refund is not at a fixed at $37.05 as mentioned. I want to believe that's the amount to be refunded if you paid $322 (International Courier of ECA).
I got a refund of $26.91 because I paid $233 (Standard Shipping of ECA)
2. The HST is not only paid by Canadians, it is paid by anyone who does a transaction within Canada either Canadian or Nigerian or Indian. However, a Non-Canadian who does not live within Canada can request for a refund of the HST after such transaction has been successfully carried out upon evidence that he does not live in Canada - in this case, the mailing address of where the ECA was sent to or the mailing address on the card of payment.
I hope this helps. Thanks. N.B. I applied for the refund first week of January and just got a response 2 days ago. Thanks for the clarification. However, I'm just curious to know why you have hidden this information from this forum until I found and posted it here. I thought we are all helping each other with vital information here. Anyways, now that it has come to bare, let those who are affected explore it. |

Maxxyfruit: Yes it is one of the charges, outside the 200CAD. They would show you the breakdown of the charges before and after your payment. Did you know you can get a refund of the harmonized sales tax (HST) after evaluating your credentials with WES?? I just stumbled on this(attached screenshots) and some people who tried it have recorded successful refund of $37.05. It was discussed that the HST is paid by Canadians and since we are not (at this point), it shouldn't have been part of the bill. I used IQAS for my ECA so it doesn't apply. Please let's explore this and see what happens for those who used WES. Caveat: I do not know yet if there's a time frame or validity period to ask for a refund.

JudithToochi: I don't know if you are serious about this or just sarcasm. Anyways, I'm looking for a partner so could take the risk together. If listening is the only problem, we could apply for remarking, its also stated that a refund will be made should your band increase after remarking. I have sent you a mail please respond @The first sentence in the bolded... Actually, you don't need a partner to take such risk. Do it yourself and be the hero.... No risk, no success. @The second sentence in the bolded... You don't seem to understand fully what the test entails. Applying for remarking for listening doesn't guarantee your band score will increase. After all, if you missed an answer during the test - which is highly objective, remarking it won't make a wrong answer to become correct. However, if the 46k for EOR is no big deal for you, a trial won't hurt you know... |

JudithToochi: Hello seniors! I'm just starting and need a little clarifications: there's a new mod center that just arrived Abuja although they have been in Lagos, I want to write ielts with them but I don't know if they are approved by ircc as I want to use the result for my express entry....... Anyone knows about this? Why don't you register with British Council and have rest of mind. Most of those MOD centres don't use headphones for the listening section. They usually play the audio from the speakers and it has a way of affecting one's performance. Another downside is that their cost of EOR is quite expensive compared to BC- circa 40k+ against 15k for BC. |

wealthiest1: hello great family, Please i have an issue. after updating my Profile in the CIC POOL, i was told that i am no longer eligible to apply. I tried severally but all to no avail. so i went through the FAQ section and i saw that once you are not eligible to be in the pool, you cant edit rather to create another profile which i did but immediately i submitted to the pool , i was disqualified again. Please i need your support house, what do i do. Awaiting your responses asap. Thank you. @the bolded... Good to know you researched yourself before coming here. 1. Check that you met the 67/100 minimum requirement in the FSW grid for eligibility. 2. Confirm that your NOC is under A, B or 0. 3. Check the amount you are putting as POF. 4. Confirm that you have at least one year paid work experience and be sure you're not declaring the work hours in days instead of week as required. 5. Finally, I hope you don't have any score below 6 in the four sections of the IELTS. Others can add to the possible cause... |

Newmum0615: Even me. I am confused. Isn't it supposed to affect anyone who entered the pool after May 29 2017 from 7:02? People with even poor IELTS scores are advised to enter the pool immediately once they have ECA and rewrite IELTS to improve their CRS score. This is to avoid being caught up with tie-breaking rule. When their scores are updated the system will still capture the earlier date they entered the pool. Am surprised to read GS is interpreting it otherwise. I think she's wrong there. |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program-Connect Here Part 3 by Emmasonic4me: 10:06pm On Feb 07, 2018 |
GlitteringStar: The tie-breaking rule date for today's draw is May 29, 2017. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. This means that anyone with a CRS score of 442 (using today's draw as an example) who didn't enter the pool before May 29, 2017 will not receive ITA. Yours is November 2017 which is after May 29, 2017. It appears this contradicts my previous understanding of how tie-breaking works. I thought it favours peeps who enter the pool earlier. @the bolded...Conversely, those who entered the pool before May 29, 2017 will receive ITA. September is not before May, hence she will not receive ITA. Please others should weigh in and correct me if am wrong. |

ken2sure: Hello. Congrats on your PPR. Your story is quite insightful. can u please explain more on how u defended your "ineligibility due to NOC mismatch", since they deduce this based on your job reference letter" or did u submit another reference letter? You may need to read that again. It was not a case of NOC mismatch. She said the VO claimed they didn't provide sufficient documentation from third party individuals for jobs they did. They now gathered all they could and raised a CSE with an LOE. |

Please for those of us who know or have done it before kindly educate. Thanks. They will send you an email when it's ready for collection. EOR usually takes between 10-12 weeks. Considering the date you applied, all seems to be normal so far. Take some patience pills and hope it favours you at the end to compensate for the wait. |

jelmusboy: ADVICE PLS...
I started working in a government hospital in June 2013. Fortunately for me, I got a scholarship to study in the UK which I started in January 2015, invariably means I "left" the job in January 2015. Prior to leaving, I wrote a letter to the management to grant me study leave which after many bureaucratic hurdles, it was granted in June 2015. Although, I decided that whether they grant it or not, am leaving.
After the study leave approval, my salary and allowances which was stopped was paid and I was paid up till December 2016. I finished my studies in the UK in May 2016 and since then, I am still in the UK doing one or two things. Legally though.
My question now is:
1. If I want to write my work experience date, is it supposed to be from June 2013 till December 2016 when my salary was stopped or January 2015 when I left for UK?
2. Because I left and never returned to the job, I couldn't go to the Admin department to get a reference letter but my manager/supervisor gave me a reference letter when I visited Nigeria last year which covers from June 2013 to January 2015. Synonym for the bolded.... Because I absconded from my duty and probably violated the terms of agreement for the study leave granted...Chai, who no like better thing.... It's payback time bro. |
