@LLBM

Are you African? or a better posed question would be....where are you from if you don't mind me asking?

Fulaman198: If Westerners want to remain naive about Africa, the Sahel, the Sahara, then let them remain naive. I don't have time to educate every single Westerner on the real Africa, you guys should not worry yourselves as well. There are a lot of Africans (East Africans from Somalia, Eritrea and Ethiopia) who don't know a thing about West Africans either. So in short, let the naive remain naive. Who cares what they say?
Hmmm..I'm sure there are lots of things that West Africans don't know about East/South/Central/North African or even other West Africans etc and vice versa...and I wouldn't want another African or another well-informed individual failing to correct misconceptions I may hold. I understand some are willfully ignorant but there are other's who would feel quite fortunate for having known. smiley

Christianity EtcRe: It Is Sadism For A Woman To Enforce Sole Ownership Of A Man by emofine2(f): 9:19am On May 17, 2012
It’s sadism for a woman to enforce sole ownership of a man?

Poor you, how heartless of a woman.

You make it sound as if the upheld monogamous structure is imposed by women...
What if the situation was reversed?
And is it a great service for polygamous men to enjoy exclusive ownership of multiple women but sadism if that woman wanted exclusivity?

Initially I thought that you were a Muslim because I understand in Islam polygamy up until a limit is allowed but if you are using Christianity to justify polygamy then surely you are at odds with the bible. If Christians claim to follow the New Testament then you must also recognise that monogamy is encouraged and not polygamy. You are talking about god etc yet ignoring your own “god’s words”.
I have to say you have actually done a shoddy job in defending polygamy...eish.

A woman is free to have more than one man, but is that sustainable? Will it guarantee peace for the woman?
Will polygamy guarantee peace for the man?

You need to consider the agony of decent women who will definitly die waiting for a husband. I am sure you have not heard about the exploitation they are secretly forced to undergo. It is a sad tale, that is why I stammer.
As if you really care. ..but are you suggesting that a solution to that is to settle for a polygamous marriage?
Have you heard of the agony that some women have to go through in a polygamous households?
And what about the plenty men waiting to get married, shall they go and get married to the same woman?

Ghydyon: pls wats all abt d kwanzaa bible pls tell me
Kwanzaa conveys every character in the bible as black. Maybe if we consider why such a bible was made we may notice there is some self esteem issues that affect certain demographics in certain belief systems. I believe the Kwanzaa bible is a Black American publication.

Christianity EtcRe: Is Homosexuality Demonic? by emofine2(f): 10:14pm On May 16, 2012
@plaetton quite interesting and informative post. I also heard about that incident to do with baby bottles quite a while back.

The questions that came to my mind was: Are we unsuspectingly breeding homosexuality by ingesting or exposing our dna to chemical agents that interfer with the natural processes of gender identification?
Interesting....so gender identification can affect one's sexuality?

Species are fiercely driven by the need to propagate themselves, so there is no ambiguity as to which intimate orientation is the natural order.
What about bisexuality?

I think there’s possibly different dialects in all languages - depending on the dialect it would be quite possible for an Urhobo and Isoko to understand each other...
but I meant my aunts sometimes blend Urhobo with their native language – the native language being Isoko. Reminds me of when my father used to entertain his Urhobo buddy....he'll converse with him in Isoko only for the man to respond in Urhobo...kinda interesting.

if anyone who speak any those languages hollar at me aswell coz im tryna learn dem but I havent got anyon e to flow it with
You know there’s quite a few Urhobo people in London, even Igala sef.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Homosexuality Demonic? by emofine2(f):
I think it’s pretty odd that some are comparing homosexuality to scenarios of incest/inbreeding when that’s a total different topic and conveys nothing about sexuality which largely covers heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual – the particular scenarios highlighted would be filed under “rights”.
Are people born heterosexual? It’s quite ironic that some claim that homosexuality is a learnt behaviour when Hetrosexuality has always been encouraged and taught. Hetrosexuality is more of a learnt “behaviour”...it’s akin to the left handed/ right handed development...that's if one agrees that no one was born either homosexual or heterosexual.
CultureRe: History Of Niger / Nigeria by emofine2(f): 7:44am On May 16, 2012
Fulaman198: I think on average, People from Niger are more traditional than Northern Nigerians. You don't see them autotuning the crap out of their songs like we do in our movie songs with the wannabe Indian sound. You don't see Hindi words like "larki" infiltrating Fulani language. I have a lot of respect for people in Niger because of this.
Lol yeah I think the auto-tuning is a little overboard but I never knew that some hindi words were also filtered through. I guess Bollywood must be really popular in the North...not so?
Actually I knew an Igbo guy who was brought up in the North (Kano) and was quite a fan of Bollywood and could sing a whole Hindi song lol but I guess that's different because I doubt there's any Hindi presence in the Igbo language.
HealthRe: Mental Illness;perception And atittude. by emofine2(f): 7:35am On May 16, 2012
I guess there’s a difference between thinking outside the box and operating outside the box...geniuses usually do the former so I wonder what could be accorded to those that are as you put “in their own world”...although there are different degrees and variation of mental illnesses (which may satisfy some of your various options) some are rather intelligent despite mental illness being a social stigma.

do your family speak urhobo as well or one of the other delta languages?
No, but we are linguistically similar...but a couple of my aunts somehow communicate in a twisted Urhobo.

Whilst I found your article rather interesting and also agreed with you about the misconception of the notion of “race” why do you then sport the title “Ladies Love Black Men”? huh Or is that tongue in cheek? undecided

Anyway it’s kind of confusing because you claim you wanna know more about Niger/Nigeria etc then go into a whole dissection of “race” so erm I'm kinda left wondering how does that subject bare weight on what you want to gather from the history of those aforementioned countries you’re interested in?

Niger and Northern Nigeria was not a country prior to the Europeans. But they or at the very least most of that specific region (southern Niger) was under a federation known as the Sokoto Caliphate established by the Fulanis in what is geographically considered as Hausaland. Anyway as one would expect a Nigerienne and Northern Nigerian have much in common – well they are essentially the same people in today different nations regardless of the borders – which isn’t a unique circumstance at all in Africa.
Fortunately there are a few frequent Northern Nigerians if they choose to add or correct certain info.
