zichien: To the best of my knowledge.. i could be wrong.. immigrant visas are sent to the DHL dropbox office in VI. I suggest you check there first with a form of identification. BEst of luck and pls return to let us know how things went.
We did not register for DHL and going to check all the way from Benin only to find it is not at DHL VI will not be funny o. Also even though we were able to register on visadoc yesterday it only shows registration form for interview which we have already done so we don’t need that form. After login how do you check whether your documents are ready for collection? Visadoc mentioned that you will be notified by email and SMS if your documents are ready.
zichien: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV That's the link to check on her visa status. You have to click on visa status check. It should show you wether she is in Administrative processing, or if it says refused. Ours went from refused.. to issued in about a week. Also you didnt state if she was issued a white paper, and wether it stated that she was being considered for a waiver. If it states that she/he was being considered for a waiver then the typical timeline is a week to 2. Also was he/she's passport collected? If passport was collected thats a good sign. They gave a lot of old people too. My mum is over 60, and she was given.
Wow! You guys are awesome. Thanks for the link. THE VISA WAS ISSUED 9 DAYS AGO !! Only we didn't know where to look.
"Your visa has been printed. Depending on local procedures at the location where you were interviewed, your visa will be mailed or available for pickup soon. If there are further questions, or if we need updated contact information, you will be contacted. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV."

Issued waiver white paper- yes Passport collected- yes
omowaleola: According to CEAC, my visa has been issued. The consular officer told me my passport will be ready in 2 weeks and only a week has passed. The reason I'm asking is because I didn't register on the visa doc website. So, I just wanted to know if the pick up message will be sent to my email cos I'm finding it difficult to register my profile on the visa doc page. Thanks.
Same problem we had. Apparently you may not be able to register for immigrant visa at usvisadoc site , so how will you know ?
zichien: It was about a week. I was checking the CEAC website for visa status obsessively every day and it kept showing up as "refused". FInally after a week it showed "Issued", I then check the ustravel visa doc website the next day and it showed the passport was ready for pickup. I think I also received an email as well the next day that the passport was ready for pickup. Of course the email didnt say if one had been issued a visa or not. In all have faith it may take a bit longer for your's to come out... maybe 2 weeks even. Hang in there. Keep checking ceac.state.gov for your visa status.
Thanks for your advice. I checked CEAC this morning and there is no update , the last is that documents have been accepted, ustravelvisadoc also have nothing on her passport. As I said it is now 2 weeks and two days since her interview. Maybe... it is the Police report that is delaying because she also submitted a UK police clearance and maybe they are still checking. Maybe... Qlife has not sent her medical report on time to the consulate as some people have reported here. Maybe... they are not giving to people over 60 because of their higher coronavirus risk. Maybe...maybe...maybe...we are still waiting though and very unhappy as you will understand.
pristine88: Are you unhappy that people are getting visas?
Haba! Don’t get so touchy-feely. We are discussing here nah I am only worried because my aunt has not got her own more than 2 weeks after interview. She is worried too because she currently lives with us getting ready to join her daughter in US. I don’t hate your success, I am only anxious about our own challenges. Good luck everyone
Not negative, just saying because someone reported they got two days after don’t become discouraged if your own case takes much longer. Remain hopeful and positive.
The stories of those that have quickly got their visas despite the ban are impressive. Nevertheless it is not a general experience and it may be wrong to expect a similar experience. I know someone who was interviewed on 26th, given a white paper and told to expect decision within 10 days. She is still waiting and wondering if she has been refused. I don’t think so but we should not base our own expectation on someone else’s experience.
And once upon a time the royal clothiers came to the Emperor . “Sannu, maigida. We have brought you new clothes such as will be admired all over the world”, they enthusiastically announced to him. “Na gode. What do you call the design?”, the Emperor eagerly asked “It is called Anti-corruption” they told him. "The television and fashion bloggers will love you to death for it .You will be the toast of GQ". “Kyau sosai ! But dude, I can’t see the clothes, even though you seem to be carrying something in your hands.“, the Emperor worried. “That is because the clothes are made out of a transparent fabric, of a type only used to clothe the gods. Transparency is our own brand name for it”, the Chief tailor grinned. “Jolly good. Wannan kyakkyawa ne”, said the Emperor, finally convinced, having never experienced the pain of been let down by a Nigerian fashion designer. So they undressed the Emperor until he was totally naked, and they made a show of dressing him up in his new transparent clothes called anti-corruption which nobody could see and would never see. The Emperor looked in the mirror and all he could see was his frail, wizened body, and pitifully shrivelled genitals. “How do I look?”, he asked, a little unnerved by what he saw. “You look great”, the clothiers gushed, and adoringly rubbed their hands together. And so, the Emperor , proud of his new clothes went all over the world telling all that had ears to hear about his new and wonderful clothes made from a fabric, which would make a great story for the gods.. Thus he did for more than three years , until one day., when as usual he stood on a rostrum in the market, in a district known as Anahg to extol the virtues of his new clothes which was called Anti –corruption. But a little girl was there listening with her daddy; and she tugged desperately at her father’s clothes and said : “He’s naked daddy! He’s mad !. He’s mad! He’s naked daddy! He is naked and mad!” But her daddy, wise to the ways of the word , patted her lovingly on the head , drew her nearer to himself. And nobody that heard the little girl could tell the Emperor, for fear it may be considered hate speech.

Jehnii: You’ll have to be directed to do so..but if you don’t hear from them then you wait..Whatever email you receive later on you respond to it. Plus if your passport wasn’t collected its AP straight but might be called back to drop passport.
Jehnii: Her husband was interviewed on the 24th of February..check my previous posts..I did screenshot it and sent..I’ve heard of about 3 other issued visas after the ban..just that it takes time now after ban..like a week after, unlike before that’s just like a day or 2.
Okay, jolly good. What about people who don't get alerted to collect their visa after one week. Does that mean they are to go and collect their passport back?
Jehnii: Apparently, visas are still be issued..goodnews!.update from that woman’s husband’s passport that was held back to consider for waiver about a week ago. I also heard your passport is been kept back to just do some background checks to know if u have any history on any form of terrorist attack or tendencies... once clean you’re good to go. Lets keep praying.
Maybe her husband was interviewed on 21st, the day after which the ban took effect. I don't think anyone has after that date recorded success so far. Let us keep fingers crossed nevertheless.
FuckThaMod: It's impossible to tackle a disease like corona in an over populated slum state like Lagos.. The govt should just pause for a moment when it comes to lying to the people, this is not election campaign. A state where 100 people enter 1 molue meant for 20 people. Very soon some will travel to the east and north, the whole Nigeria will soon be infected. We are doomed! I repeat, we are doomed! We are all gonna dieeeee
davido05: This was the response I got from my immigration lawyer . So sad
He hasn’t told you anything of value in my opinion. All these were obvious right from the beginning and I believe actually to show how much contempt America has for the leadership of Nigeria . Possibly thinking that if they are able to cause us younger ones sufficient discomfort we will elect good leaders next time instead of running away . As for the preparation he is advising you about, I think your prayers may be even more important than the documents requested. God help us all
I close my eyes , and your presence fills the whole world Beyond the silken screen of darkness, a haunting memory
I sent my thought to you on the wings of a beautiful dove But it flew back to me empty, without a promise of love I should go searching for you, but that would never do Noone has ever seen you, not in the way I always do
It is all so hopeless; it is all so strange and hopeless These fugitive moments that come without a single word It is so distressing; sometimes I think I am dead It seems to me, you only live inside my head
I open my eyes , a gloomy emptiness fills the world Around me a lifeless void, scorned and spurned by all Frantic I strive to gather, fading memories of your presence But it is all impossible; they never come back together
I try, but the pictures; they are constantly dashed to pieces Like sparkling stars shot down they crash into the dark abyss Maybe this is a simple madness; maybe a stubborn wish I grasp at the sweetness, but it takes wings and flies away
I should ask the rushing world, where it is you may be found I should ask those gray faces, if you truly can be found
It is all so hopeless; it is all so strange and hopeless These fugitive moments that come without a single word It is so distressing; sometimes I think I am dead It seems to me, you only live inside my head
The sky is dark, it's going to rain The heart is sad. in screaming pain Does the situation ring a bell (2ce) I'm thinking life is hell (2ce)
Brother, can you see from my eyes It's a time of senseless inversion Forces of oppression roaming and growling Preaching peace, pursuing perversion Soldiers of evil behind them trailing Hand tools of a desperate iniquity After them tear and sadness lingering After them fear and sorrowing mingling.
Sister, can you see from my eyes The man of the house on his knees, weeping Weeping as a child in the grip of pain As a child in the grip of despondency The future creeps up without mercy A plague of demons knocking at the door And hopes ground fine, dry as desert dust.
Brother, sister, can you see from my eyes Beneath the eyes of power full of contempt Children play , play away confusion In the cold sun, in shadows cold Children hide, away from frustrations Sad souls, drawn one to another Like nightflies to comforting nightlights Dreaming of the sunshine to come After the darkness is done and gone
In the dark sky , a dark storm brews In distressed lands, in tormented souls In hearts that in sadness scream Tired dams restrain restless angers Surely, soon to fall upon the lands With terror of a raging fire
The sky is dark, it's going to rain The heart is sad. in screaming pain Does the situation ring a bell (2ce) I'm thinking life is hell (2ce)

If you are applying for a K1 or fiancé visa, please go to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com. There may be a significant wait before the next available appointment, so please attempt to attend the date already assigned. For some family-based and employment preference visa categories, a visa became available within the month you have been scheduled by NVC. DV applicants should be aware that visas are numerically limited and must be issued by September 30 of the program year. There is no guarantee that a visa will still be available on the date of your rescheduled interview. Please carefully consult the Visa Bulletin before you request to reschedule your interview.

Stancima: I am not sure which option is considered best way to delay the procedure at this time. This depends on individuals. The pace of the immigrant petition is under the petitioners control as soon as you get into the NVC stage. For example, if you are asked to pay Visa fee, or submit affidavit of support/tax clearance certificate or police character clearance etc, you can control the progression by delaying on submission of the above. However, if the ban is lifted and you are not done with these processes, applicants who have gone through those steps would get ahead of you on the queue. Now this is not a problem for someone who is not in any hurry. Another option is to schedule interview, attend it and opt for a waiver. If the ban is lifted before conclusion of your waiver application, you're automatically in queue for your Visa collection if the consular officer had established that the only reason you weren't issued the Visa was the ban. Lastly, the USCIS says you may proceed to schedule an interview which means you may also decide not to schedule one. The question is, if you conclude all your documentations with NVC, are you automatically assigned an interview date or given the opportunity to choose if you want to move ahead or place the application on hold? This is a question applicants should ask the NVC and the US consulate in Nigeria. Another point of ENQUIRY is; if an application is denied on the interview day due to the reason of ban, what happens when the ban is lifted? Will those denied Visa requests be resuscitated automatically or would applicants have to appeal the decision to bring the application back on track? This is another question for the DHS/NVC and the consulate in Nigeria. Answers to these questions from these authorities would help shapen the way forward. So let everyone start filling the enquiry forms and sending messages and making calls. In the next few weeks, we may have more information than we bargained.
1. After your documents are complete NVC notifies you and tell you to wait for interview date. 2. NVC then contacts the Consulate in Lagos to ask for available dates 3. NVC contacts you about 2 weeks later to inform you of your interview date. You cannot schedule interviews by yourself for immigrant visa, the Consulate cannot also give or change interview date for you. This has to be done by NVC. I made enquiry and received automated reply.
I have been made to believe that Consulate has no say on family based immigration application . Therefore I don’t know how waivers for this class is of relevance.
Is it a good idea to go for the interview with incomplete documents thereby shifting you to administrative processing instead of a decision to deny because of the ban?
Stancima: This cannot be from a qualified immigration lawyer based in the US; except he is not in touch with the events surrounding the ban. This ban has already gone to court and has been settled. It was contested by immigration lawyers, the Democrats and nationals of the countries which were placed on the first travel ban. After 1year in court, the supreme court ruled in favor of the Trump administration and asserted that the presidential proclamation stands ahead of any other law since the ban is hinged on the security of life and properties of the American people. I have realized that in a bid to sound positive or seek solace in the face of hope, many people have gone ahead to disseminate falsehood about this ban. ANYONE WHOSE INTERVIEW DATE IS AFTER 21st FEBRUARY IS SUBJECT TO THIS BAN; both immediate and "non-immediate" relatives. Also, I have noticed talks about public charge rule which are being misrepresented here as well. Public charge rule has nothing to do with the immigration ban and is a totally different thing. It simply deals with limitations on the immigration rights of individuals who are dependent on government benefits. By that, the government wants only those who can support themselves to seek green cards and/or naturalization. I am compelled to make this comment because some of us benefitted from this thread during the processing of our immigrant petitions and would want the right information to be deposited here for consumption. The idea that immediate relative or applications filed before the ban or approved before the ban are exempted completely negates the information given by the DHS and which the DHS has re-echoed severally.
Oops. By end of Monday we will all know for sure where all this is going.
