Hopefully not all visas are expired. How can they expire a visa I have not yet received? It doesn’t make sense. The worst they ought to do is advise to do medical again before traveling since you are only required to take the medical with you when going and it has very little to do with visa issuance. I am disappointed that they are not giving clear instructions to everyone on what to do. I will wait for more information before I travel to Lagos to collect my passport. I don’t want to do the trip three times. |

Timiofak: Hopefully this will not apply to every case. If it does then hopefully some part of the medical will not need to be repeated. Some of us paid visa fees in US though through CEAC , so I doubt we will be asked to repeat that. Fingers crossed. |

Properties / Re: What Is Happening To My Decking? by emonkey(m): 10:37am On Jun 19, 2020 |
tonididdy: I am not a builder. Ask for a good bitumen based sealant. Some just use a hot melt tar seal coat followed by a bituminous membrane top. These treatments can be costly but is well worth it. Sika products are good, I don't know if they are still available in market. https://www.sika.com/en/construction/roof-systems/bituminous-membrane.html |
Properties / Re: What Is Happening To My Decking? by emonkey(m): 10:12am On Jun 19, 2020 |
tonididdy:Good. I suggest you temporarily remove the water tanks and thoroughly waterproof the top of the slab with bitumen treatment before putting back the tanks. Like I said the good thing is the concrete is not cracked underneath which could be an indication of some failure. I have seen this problem with my grandfather's 60-year-old house and it is still standing. The tank, in this case, had to be removed because the slab was not designed for that purpose and so there were cracks underneath which eventually caused spalling due to damage of the reinforcement by water seepage from the top. Problem solved by waterproofing. If you are certain your slab was designed for bearing the water tanks, don't worry, just waterproof and you should be okay. If you notice cracks either in the slab or the walls though, remove the water tanks immediately. |
Properties / Re: What Is Happening To My Decking? by emonkey(m): 9:37am On Jun 19, 2020 |
tonididdy: You need to waterproof an open decking. No, tiling won't do it, water will still seep through the joints in the tiles. Try bitumen-based treatments. Secondly, the decking was probably not designed to carry a water tank, not to talk of two. What is the capacity of the tanks? How thick is the decking? Depending on these I would advise you to relocate the water tanks. The good thing is that you don't yet have any visible cracks or spalling underneath. I am an engineer by the way. 1 Like |

zionmde: You have unfortunately publicly demonstrated that many people who call themselves Christians either don't read or don't even know how to read their Bible. In case you are still wondering what I am driving at , here is the passage I asked you to read : "Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered" - Proverb 22:24 I am thankful to God that you have been able to learn something new today. God bless you. |

zionmde: You have an angry spirit and there is no point having a discussion with you . Please go read your Bible. Read Proverbs 22:24 and tell us what it says. Happy Sunday to you. 1 Like |

zionmde: My Brother, the first Christians did not preach the gospel In their church, they preached in the communities, just like Jesus did. The best sermons they preached were in the streets and by their personal attitudes, not by screaming in the night and disturbing the neighborhood with big loudspeakers . Your concluding remark is both amusing and upsetting. You are not nice with words? Where then is your Christianity? Have you ever heard of “the fruit of the Spirit” ? They are not fruits of anger. Please read Galatians 5: 22 Shalom. 3 Likes |
