Which guys?! You spoke about Ziyarah as if you had enough evidence, but when truth is glaring to your face you find an escape route by bringing the Sauds into it. The sauds are humans and they make mistakes, the scholars of the land speak against whatever evil going on in the land. So don't bring in that hypocritical attitude of yours into this kabaan angry
You don't get it, do you. The Hadith he quoted does not on any way prohibited visiting other places. The Hadith mere places importance of visiting the great masajid. This has not turned to mean it is forbidden to visit other masjid. It is not hypocritical if I brought the picture up. Prove to me where their religious ulama condemned them for visiting Washington's grave. I want to see that actually.

Now regarding the Hadith he cited, he also quoted sheikhul Islam (ra) that there are difference of opinion. Hence, these differences have to be respected. Here is other view(attachments)

It is like a Hadith attributed to the prophet (saw) said of women being inferior to men. People like you concluded that women have no brain if you know what that means. The same applies here. So for me, I see no reason to travel a long distance to visit grave or masjid when I have bunch of them around me. All I'm saying is, op is innocent but you guys bombarded his thread with suspicions. Some suspicions are haram. The issue of traveling for the purpose of ziyara to masjid or qubr is mustahab.

I know you can lecture for 9ja. And you'll never submit to the truth even if its evident. Iru iro ni'borun!

Ahmad, Al Bukhari, Muslim and others reported from Abu Huraira that the Prophet. "Do not set out on a journey except for three mosques: Al Masjid Al Haram, my Mosque (at Medinah) and the Mosque of Al-Aqsa (Mosque of Jerusalem)".
So, it is unlawful to travel from one place to another to visit a mosque for any purpose whatsoever except if that mosque is one of the three mentioned in the Hadith.
It is reported in a narration that Abu Huraira once went to Al Tour Mount to stand where Prophet Moses stood seeking blessing (Baraka) when he came back his companion Abu Basrata Al Ghifari said to him: "Had I met you before you left I wouldn't have let you go". Abu Huraira agreed upon that. So, it is unlawful to travel to any place in the world to seek blessing (Baraka) or pray or do any other acts of worship except the three mentioned mosques.
We conclude by saying "it is unlawful to travel in order to visit any mosque on earth except the three mosques. But it is lawful to travel to visit scholars and pious people or to seek knowledge or to trade… etc".

Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah may Allaah have mercy upon him wrote about the difference of opinion among scholars regarding undertaking a journey:

“Regarding the hadeeth that reads, ‘One should not undertake a journey to visit mosques except to three...,’ some scholars said that it does not indicate prohibition but that it means that it is not legislated, neither obligatory nor recommended; rather, it is permissible, just like traveling for trade and other purposes. It is said to them: such journeys (for trade or other purposes) are not intended as a form of worship; rather, they are intended for some worldly benefit, whereas traveling to visit graves is intended as a form of worship, and worship should be performed only with obligatory or recommended actions. Therefore, if a scholarly consensus is reached that traveling to graves is neither obligatory nor recommended, then when one does it as an act of worship, it is considered a religious innovation opposing the consensus, and performing a religious innovation for the purpose of worship is not lawful...”
Allah knows best.
when these masters of yours visited grave of G. Washington in America from all the way from Arabia, they committed innovation?.

Who told you visiting graves is act of worship?. Like serious you think I never heard of the Hadith you quoted, hun?. Besides the Hadith did not forbids ziyara on a distance. But my concern is what's this gotta do with op?. Op was very simple. He didn't mention anything you guys suspected. You read meaning into what you think may be going on at ziyara. Even your post said there are difference of opinion. So stop assuming things. Folks have been visiting graves for donkey yrs and it is not necessarily for religious purposes

IslamRe: Ziyarat To The Haram Of Imam Ali Al-ridha (as), 8th Shia Imam by Empiree:

This is what happens when we refuse to follow the teachings of the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa salam.

Visiting the grave to offer prayers for the dead Muslims is permitted. But offering acts of worship at the grave of a dead Imam, praying to the dead Imam and Traveling to visit graves are forbidden in Islam.

But I guess I will be stoned soon cos truth is bitter!
why are you guys insecure?. Op didnt even mention anything about "grave worship". Why are you guys full of assumptions and suspicions? I don't understand you people anymore. Travelling/ziyara are pretty much the same. Islam allows visiting graves. To visit graves may require you to 'travel' depending on location. So what's the fuss over words for?. If your friend lives in lagos and you live in ilorin. You said you want to visit(ziyara) your friend in lagos. How do you do that without travelling?. Even if you use 'kanako' you still travel faah.

amodu:
Sometime in 2011, a few months after I got my first employment, I visited an Ẹ̀gbọ́n (of late memory) to discuss a farm business prospect on which I wish we could partner with him supplying the funds while I do the field work. After our discussion, he asked me, Prof., when are you getting married to your famous "two-at-once wives?" (back in the days I used to boast about marrying 2 wives at a time.)

Me: Next year, in shaa Allaah. First, I want to gather some money so I can be able to cater for my family

Him: Tor, may Allaah make it easy.

Me: So, ẹgbọ́n when are you adding a second?

At that point, the wife who had been calm all day flared up. AuudhubiLlaah! She exclaimed.

Ẹ̀gbọ́n: I'm not thinking about it now or any time soon.

Me: Ẹ̀gbọ́n, you need to start thinking about it fa. After 12 years of marriage you still are not give mathnaaism a thought?

Ummu Fulaanah: You should start going now. I fear that you will corrupt my husband.

Me: Cortupt bí tí báwo? Sunnah Annabi Muhammad ní fà.

Ummu Fulaanah: Hùn-ùn wọn tún tí dé. Sunnah eyokan tí á má ń rí wọn sì náà nù.

Laughter errupts

Me: But on a serious note, what if Aboo Faulaanah decides to marry a small wife who will help you with house chores?

Ummu Faulaanah: Did I complain to you that I'm overwhelmed? He can't even contemplate it let alone do it.

Aboo Fulaanah: Don't say that ooooo. I may do it if I find one Hajia that pleases me fa.

Ummu Fulaanah: "Your carpenter no fit use teeth remove nail." You know I love you and I cannot share you with anyone. I will resist every move to bring in another wife.

Aboo Fulaanah: "I don't even have life for wàhálà. Multiple wives, multiple predicaments."

------------------------------

In 2012 barely a year later, Aboo Fulaanah had an accident and died on the spot.

This afternoon, I was at Mandate market to buy meat when a woman buying beverages from a nearby stall called my name. I turned and saw Ummu Fulaanah. We exchanged pleasantries and the following conversation ensued:

Ummu Fulaanah: Haaa Aboo, "this is your face?!" You didn't even ask after us since your friend died.

Me: No vex please. "It's the mountain here that has blurred our sight from seeing the mountain there." How have you been and how are the kids?

Ummu Fulaanah: AlhamduliLlaah! "The situation hasn't passed ìfaradà".

As I was about leave, she said, "Aboo, please, remember us in your prayers. I've not been engaged to anyone since your friend died."

Me: Is it that no one has approached you, or that you haven't found your preferred choice of spouse yet?

She: All of those that have approached me are married and some are afraid of affording my responsibilities (3 kids), some categorically told me that I cannot take in my kids with me. There are some whose wives even called to threaten me to leave their husbands alone or else I will regret my life.

Me: What about single brothers?

Ummu Fulaanah: Aboo, which single brother will marry a widow with 3 kids? And even if he decides to marry me, his family members will discourage him. You know the kind of cultural shenanigans that our people are subscribed to nah.

Me: Toh, may Allaah grant your heart desire soon.

Ummu Fulaanah: Aaameen. Please, in case you have any responsible brother who would not mind....

Me: (in my mind) Experience is the best teacher. Now, if every woman have your kind of 'entitlement' and 'not sharing my husband' mentality, who will allow their husbands marry the widowed and divorces.

Lesson: Always remember that circumstances of death or divorce may force you into being in need of another marriage. If you 'styliahly' or openly hate Mathnaalogy now, what will become of you then?

The reason I said women in U.S are more enlighten than women in Nigeria is because, women in U.S know their right, you can't just mess with them and get away with it(although some have misused it), but hear in Nigeria many women don't even know their right, a man can do bad to them and get away with it, take a look at divorce case in Nigeria, it favor men than women except the woman knows her right or has connection.
You right but this is not their fault. This is nigerian system's. Besides, if you live in the US and you are in marriage institution, you will love nigerian system faster and better. Both sides are extreme. You will love nija marital legal system if you marry US citizen and especially if your wife is a lawyer. Nkan ti o ma fi oju yin ri eyin ni kan ko le ma so cheesy Every penny will be consumed from u. Take Hulk Hogan for instance. Look at Janet Jackson how she's screwing up Arab dude and many cases like that.

This is why many Americans aren't marry. This is why you see high rate of baby mamas instead because men want to protect their assets. With baby mama, it means less responsibilities except for the baby minus baby mother. That's what's called child support. She has no right unless if, only if they live together even if they aren't married, only then she has a little bit of rights to his assets.

So this lady is smart. She created investment for herself but she will pay the price as well because all child supports she gets are considered INCOME in the eyes of the law.

lol, it is not necessarily about enlightment. If that's the case, many white women don't have that much babies. "Educated" white people see couple with lots of babies as uneducated.

As you can see this lady is white. It is rather the system she's smart with doesn't mean she's smarter than Nigerian women. She's manipulating the system. That's why you see black and Spanish with lots of babies. They have babies with different men. It is a deal. I know of a lady similar to this but hers are 9 children with different baby fathers. She goes out chasing men like "her sweetie, you like me?" Days later, bum, the guy don enter one chance. That's how she got all her baby daddies. But the same system knows how to screw them up.

yup. a comment says "imagine each baby daddy pays $200/wk?". Thats $2800 weekly from all 14. Thats $11,200 per month. She's smart. Marriage is crazy in the West and this is not even marriage.

And apart from this, the babies are entitled to free stuff until they are 5 yrs old from the govt. It includes food, clothing etc and if she can't afford daycare, govt funds it. She made smart move. It is women's world. When she files her tax at the end of the yr, Child tax credit in New York is $2500 per child. I don't know of detroit. I think it is $1400. Maybe sister ayinba1 can help with that. So thats 1400X14 (19,600) from federal tax return. State tax return is not even added yet. Chai. Smart woman

Didn't know that Sheikh Mustapha Sanusi Zuglool (ra) was closed to Sheikh Adam al-ilory(rahimahullah). There is no way we can talk about Sheikh Adam without mentioning Sheikh Zuglool vice versa.

A giant among the learned is gone—Sheikh Ahmad

His death came as a rude shock but death is inevitable. His death is such a very great loss to the Ummah. By all standard, Sheikh Zuglool was an intellectual giant and when learned people like him dies, the light of the community starts to diminish, then darkness gradually takes over. This is because learned people are the light of the society, they illuminate, spiritually, physically and mentally. So, the death of leaned people like Zuglool is worrisome. It is a great loss to the society, it is not an ordinary death, it is the death of a leaned man; not even an ordinary learned man but a giant among the learned men. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him the best of paradise.

We’ve lost another Adam Al-Ilori—Prof Ishaq Akintola

According to the Founder and Director, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Professor Ishaq Akintola, “He was a great Islamic Scholar, an indefatigable preacher, a mentor primus inter pareil and a humanist par excellence. He stands on the same pedestal as the late Shaykh Adam Al-Ilori.”

A great mentor, stockroom of knowledge— Balogun

The Secretary of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria, MMPN, Lagos Chapter, Haroon Balogun described late Zuglool as a respected scholar of repute, a stockroom of knowledge, an erudite Historian who contributed tremendously to development of Islam particularly among the youths. Balogun added: “like Sheikh Adam Al Ilori, he mentored a lot of younger Muslims leaving behind enduring legacies for the generation unborn. May Allah forgive him and admit his soul into Aljanah Firdaus.”

Sheikh Abdullah Akinbode

“Baba was a collosus of virtues, citadel of knowledge and and epitome of morality. May Allah be pleased with him.’

Ag Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Sheikh Abdullazeez Onike

“We have lost a scholar! We have lost a scholar!! Sheikh Adam Al Ilori was reported to have said that if Allah asked him what he had done on earth, he would say, he had thought Zuglool Quran and he understood it. That alone is an evidence that Zuglool was a scholar by all standard. Zuglool style of tafsir was unparalleled, you will think he was a professor of History. We in NASFAT will never forget him because he kicked-off our Ramadan Tafsir and since it has been wonderful. Indeed, we have lost a great scholar in Nigeria.”

Renowned preacher and Islamic scholar, Sheikh Mustapha Sanusi Zuglool is dead. He died late Wednesday at the age of 80. He was the founder and Mudeer of Daru-Dawa-Wal Irshad, Isolo, Lagos, one of the leading Islamic/Arabic Studies Centre in the country.

His remains were buried yesterday at his madraza,Daru-Dawa-Wal Irshad, Isolo, Lagos. According to a statement from a prominent member of the family, Alhaji Faisal Zuglool, Special fidau prayers will hold tomorrow, Saturday at venue. Since the death occured, his residence has been a mecca of some sort with, eminent Muslims tropping in and out of the area.

Gone through this thread again. The way some brothers reason is very annoying despite glaring explanations presented. I hate this kind of silly rigidity. Strict adherence to text is not evidence of guidance. They simply read text mechanically. "Solati Ibrahimiyah" is simple a formula. It is never a direct darood for the prophet(saw). It is rather asking Allah's Blessings as He as done in the past o him(saw). This is humble position of the prophet just like he humbled himself when he said he is not the best of the prophets and messengers as narrated in the hadith below. Yet, all muslims or majority of us believe nabi(saw) is the best of the prophets or imam of ambiya.

Hadith 4:608
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

The Prophet said, "One should not say that I am better than Jonah (i.e. Yunus) bin Matta." So, he mentioned his father Matta. The Prophet mentioned the night of his Ascension and said, "The prophet Moses was brown, a tall person as if from the people of the tribe of Shanu'a. Jesus was a curly-haired man of moderate height." He also mentioned Malik, the gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire, and Ad-Dajjal.

In another versions of the hadith, the headline is titled "Hadith Of Humility"

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No servant should say that I am better than Jonah son of Mata.”

In another narration, the Prophet said, “Whoever says that I am better than Jonah son of Mata has told a lie.”

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 3234, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2373

Grade: Muttafaqun Alayhi (authenticity agreed upon) according to Al-Bukhari and Muslim

Yet the whole of muslims ummah believe prophet Muhammad(saw) is best of mankind and leader of all prophets that came before him because of many other ahadith and verses of Qur'an itself.. So the above hadith is simply humble comment by the prophet(saw). If you see a man boosting and attributing everything to his himself and his status is a jahil. You can hardly see intelligent people claim they have best of knowledge. Rather it is others that praise them. The same applies to solati Ibrahimmiya. It is indirectly sending salaams on the prophet. It is obligatory upon his ummah to to directly send Darood Shareef on him. So nothing is wrong with solati fatih. This argument should be put to stop. It is getting annoying. Whoever doesn't want to recite fatih is free to do so but please stop saying it is innovation because it is not. There are plenty of evidences in hadith where sohaba formed their own du'a, dhikr etc, in the presence of nabi and nabi(saw) had no problems with them.

Again, this is "Solati Fatih" they called "innovation".

O God bless our Master Muhammad (pbuh) who opened what had been closed, and who is the Seal of what had gone before, he who makes the Truth Victorious by the Truth, the guide to thy straight path, and bless his household as is the due of his immense position and grandeur.

So critics need to point out what is anti-islam in this phrases?. As for solati fatih having greater status over Qur'an, this was explained many times. Best explanation so far came from Sheikh Muhammad Mustapha Ashile (d. 1999). So i don't understand why critics focus on whatever suits them to criticize everything they understand not. Solati fatih is not greater than Qur'an. It is the same as when nabi (saw) enjoined his companions to recite entire Qur'an before going to bed and he(saw) pointed out sura ikhlas equal to reciting Qur'an. This is euphemism.
