The South-East Renewal Group (SERG) has reacted to the position of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on the 2019 general elections.

The group said Kanu’s declaration that there will be no election in South eastern part of Nigeria, which he claimed to be ‘Biafra territory’, was a joke that shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Kanu, on Sunday finally opened up, since he resurfaced in Jerusalem, Israel.

In a broadcast on Sunday evening, Kanu vowed not to return to the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he was standing trial before he left the country, describing Nigeria as a zoo.

In a broadcast via Radio Biafra, Kanu boasted, “IPOB will liberate Biafra and we will not take part in any election until we get a referendum and this is not negotiable, we will achieve this by every necessary means, we thank Israel for all the contributions they made to IPOB.”

Reacting to the controversial broadcast, Charles Mbani, National President of SERG in a statement  on Monday, said it was most unfortunate that Kanu was back to cause trouble for people of South-East of Nigeria, who have spent the last one year re-building confidence with their neighbours in their bid to repair the damages caused by him and his IPOB members.

SERG declared that Nnamdi Kanu, and the faction of IPOB that he leads, do not speak for the Igbo as a people.

He said, “His utterances are at variance with the belief of the people of the South-East Nigeria, who are cultured, have maximum regards for Nigerians of other ethnic stocks, believe in the unity of Nigeria while they continue to clamour for restructuring that will promote equity, respect constituted authority and institutions and will never descend low to the point of disparaging other human beings.

“The annals have recorded it that Nnamdi Kanu is a coward, who incited promising Igbo youths to throw away their lives literarily and figuratively. He threw the entire South-East into confusion and pocketed the money raised from suffering Igbo masses only for him to escape when the people had erroneously thought he had something in stock for them.

“It is the height of insult to the Igbo sensibility for him to think that putting up this charade from the Holy Land will fool Ndi Igbo another round. If he is broke and wants to use this latest performance to finance his drug addled life he should have a rethink and look for honest work to pay his own bills.

“We strongly believe that his desperation for money has made him team up with those that are out to frustrate the Igbo agenda and interest. We say this because it is curious that Kanu had hidden for so long as a common criminal only for him to turn up at a time when the political fortunes of the South East are improving with the nomination of one of our own, Mr. Peter Obi as a Vice Presidential candidate in next year’s election.

“SERG hereby categorically place Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and any miscreant that buys into the poisonous ideology they promote that not only will election hold in the South-East but that people will also come out to exercise their voting rights without being molested.

“Igbo will mobilize to ensure this chance is not lost, certainly not in this lifetime. On the other hand, at the end of the General Elections, which would hold everywhere in a united Nigeria, Kanu would have proven beyond doubt that he is a liar and an utter symbol of falsehood that is at best treated as a pariah.”

SERG further stressed that Igbo youths should be warned by this development, adding that nothing to be gained from supporting terrorist and separatist ideologies as the only region to have allowed that in the country is today full of regrets.

He added, “We should rather continue to support the federal government, irrespective of the ethnic group of the person that occupies the office. Igbo youths, leaders and organizations must also apologize to the Nigerian Army that was wrongly accused of killing Kanu when in reality the coward ran away from the country on his volition.”

I will discuss the points in detail.

1) the media is the easiest tool to influence people today. So Kanu had to use the radio Biafra as his takeoff .

2) There is an Inner circle, the people he planned and initiated the plan with inside Europe .

3)The main aim of the whole scam is to make money , hence the need to open an account and get followers from all over the world to donate to the fight . You saw the video of kanu telling people in America to bring money for arms, since they in Europe do not have money .Ever since the agitation, millions of Followers outside and within Nigeria have been making donations into the accounts.

4) Most famous people in Nigeria went to prison at some point, so to get popularity, Kanu needed to enter prison . People like Obasanjo, wole soyinka, Fela Kuti,Buhari etc have all been there. But Kanu knows he will be more popular there and won't be killed because he is British .

5) The plan worked and the Agitation grew by the day while he was in prison .People were machine up and down while he was coordinating from prison. And more funds were paid into the Biafran account which he was getting updates .

6) the first negotiation with government was for his release .But he wanted to meet with Buhari himself to raise the stake . Unfortunately OHANEZE stood as mediators and blocked his access to the president. This is why he hated Ohaneze and NWODO. Soon after he started again to raise more dust and see if he will get to the president. As this was happening, he discovered that Anambra was preparing for elections. He decided to use his followers against Anambra elections to be settled. When he was settled for Anambra, he went from saying no elections in Anambra, to INEC must promise free and fair elections in Anambra. The videos are there .

At this point, something had to be done about kanu since the elections were fast approaching . The noise became intense and it was time for the final negotiation . After Kanus has agreed to the settlement, it was time to disappear. 2. He told Igbo's to stop attending Yoruba churches, that Yoruba's were enemies. Yet he was Winning and Dinning with the likes of FFK and Fayose.

3. Said Igbo's should hat Hausa/Fulani, but later said he loved yaradua. So his problem and Target was Buhari .

4. He promised that Biafra would be far better than Nigeria, but he had no problem with the Igbo's in government that looted public funds and deprived the people of basic Amenities over the years.

5. Brought in some white people and said they were helping fight for Biafra in US parliament, Israel and Turkey


WHAT KANU WOULD HAVE DONE IF HE WANTED BIAFRA.

Kanu never came to actualize Biafra, but to take his share from the government . If he truly wanted biafra, these are the steps he would have taken .

1. Gather his followers under one political party
2. Support their candidate in Anambra
3. Win the Elections
4. Use Anambra as an Example of what Biafra could look like. Let the Biafrians all over the world support their government in Anambra and transform the state.
5. With what has happened in Anambra, capture the southeast states.
6. The states in the SS will be convinced and accept to join
7. The entire region will be corrupt free, developed enough to ask to break away from Nigeria.


Unfortunately, he came for the money. Fighting both Anambra and Federal Government for settlement. Today he has been settled and is living large. But then he cant hide from the people forever. So what does he do? Appears in Israel to use religion to brainwash the people again. Now they are celebrating that he appear in Israel, but nobody is asking how he got there.

Who gave him his passport? Where has he been all this while ? But he knows if he appears to be praying in Israel, his gullible followers will be blinded by religion .

Now he has selfishly made the Igbo's to loose hope in the democratic process. They keep shouting boycott elections, tearing their voters cards, while other regions are increasing their registration . Tomorrow, they will have more votes. Negotiate more for their region and attract more appointments and projects. While those shouting boycott elections, no elections in Biafra land, suffer the impact of bad leadership imposed by voters in other regions.

Does kanu care about what happens to them? NO. After all his family is in a place where things work with a responsible government .

I urge all IPOB members to understand that you have been used to enrich Kanu. But you can wakeup today, and participate fully in the democratic and electoral processes in Nigeria to elect people that can make life better for you constitutionally .

Rather than celebrating his Appearance in Israel, ask him how he left Nigeria. Ask him to show you his bank statement, ask him to account for all the donations he received in the name of Biafra.

Nobody is coming to save you in Nigeria. It is only your vote that will.
