dustydee: I voted remain but was tired of the whole brexit issue too. But labor were not helped by Corbyn and for me, I was put off by one of their first manifesto promises - free broadband. I did not think it was prudent or realistic. Yeah labour didnt have a clear cut direction with the Corbyn guy... |

Well for touring London, you can go three ways 1. If you have a friend staying in London, you can have your friend show you round OR 2. Use a tour bus for a fee like the mega bus tour https://uk.megabus.com/products/london-bus-tour?gclid=Cj0KCQiAw4jvBRCJARIsAHYewPOzDoek9jy3Q80au_lcZCNH88RP098fDvbCgtss9c3qLMBAPC7phxcaAuL0EALw_wcB OR 3. Go on a tour yourself using this guide https://secretldn.com/sightseeing-london-map-walking-route/well using the tube is pretty straightforward if you pay attention to details as route maps are always in the trains and stops are announced...London folks are friendly so if you ask questions you will never stray far I dont know much about currency exchange but it is always good to have some pounds with you before you get to exchange...just in case 7Alexandre: Hey, Guys I’m traveling to Naija for Christmas and I’II be making a stopover in London & Abu Dhabi respectively. I’II be spending two days in London & Three days in Abu Dhabi. My very first time of visiting London. I’II be staying at the Renaissance London Heathrow Hotel very close to the Heathrow Airport.
My Questions are:
(A) What are the most exciting places to visit for a first timer in London?
(B) If you only had 48 hours to spend in London where would you visit first?
(C) Should I exchange some Dollars to Pounds at my Local Bank of America OR would I get a better exchange rate at the foreign currency exchange kiosks at the Airport?
(D) Does riding the London Tube seem complicated? I would also need a bit of advice regarding riding the Tube as I wouldn’t love to get lost. For comparison I have lived in New York City & New Jersey and have used the Subway extensively.

sgtponzihater1: So out of ones salary tell me how much clothes will stop one from paying 84 pounds. Quite frustrating, this country needs two cooperative partners to ease things, especially with your London location... I will he praying for your family, but please dont give up on her....for a marriage to work sometimes it just needs one willing partner Do your best to talk to her in a calm environment, you guys need to bring out a calculator and assign responsibilities... Also start praying together, village people can do wonders o God be with you bro |

I go to the market 90% of time also, and I am an ED worker. God alone can judge Then offer to help her do the payment with her details if she is busy, you both need to talk more without arguing... |

sgtponzihater1: Hard times for me. You will never understand. I can't imagine. Cooking for myself, paying the rent, throwing the garbage away, leaving in the living room, using perfume outside the house because a pregnant woman claims she reacts to perfume. If that happens in pregnancy, what will happen during the nursing stage. I can't deal. Our income are not so different sadly This is clearly a breakdown in communication. You both need to go out on a date and talk things over, as separation is the last thing you do. I believe you are married but you and your wife are both living single lives. To be a man means to make sacrifices for the family. Pregnancy does different things to different women, so you must pay attention to your wife and her emotional needs especially now that she is with child. Make chores fun in your home, make it a time to bond, do them happily with or without her as the home belongs to both of you. Also have you discussed future finances with her? especially finances when she would have to stop work to birth your child. Dont you think she is withholding her cash for the period when she would have to stop work? In all you do always look at the big picture, decisions made in a hurry under duress are always regretted |

nomad26: Yes you can, you don't need the international driving licence, your regular Nigerian licence is adequate. You can use it for up to a year from your first arrival date to the UK. This is what I did when I initially moved here. Then I switched to full UK licence after about 6 months. Funny enough, my insurance was cheaper using my Nigerian licence, it increased by £100 after I switched to full UK. Admiral said it was because I have now become 'a new driver' mshewww thieves. I switched to Aviva shortly afterwards and paid about 40% less. Great news, many thanks |

Thanks for your response, please is the International driving licence different from the normal one issued by frsc (used in Nigeria)? |

addbol: Yes Certificate of Sponsorship(COS). I want to believe its profession specific, which probably explains the varying validity.
Maintenance letter can be issued by the employer and used in lieu of account statement. I don't know if all employers do this. The letter will basically state the terms of the applicant's COS which will serve same purpose as ticking yes had it been they were all coming in together. Ok, noted...I guess he should look at his COS to know which category he falls and also talk with the employer to know if he would be given a maintenance letter for his family or issued a new COS if needed...I hear COS cost as much as £1000 pounds for the employer |
Travel › Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by EngrSaks(m): 11:17am On Aug 14, 2019 |
addbol: Hello sir, I think you are confusing COS for maintenance letter. Former has a minimum validity of 1 year to the best of my knowledge, while the latter is 3 months I think. Some COS even have up to 3 years validity, and yes COS can be reissued upon expiration. Well the COS I know has a validity of 3 months and all the employer has to do was tick yes for maintenance for the main applicant and dependants (didnt state anything about an additional maintenance letter)... Anyway in any case, the duration/validity of a COS is clearly written on the COS. I am assuming we are talking about certificate of sponsorship (COS) |

Elderss: Good morning my Ogas in the house.
Your boy don come again oo. Abeg help me use your 'Ogbon Agba' scrutinize and express your thoughts on the issues highlighted below:
1. I intend to apply for a Tier 2 visa as the main/principal/primary applicant. Can my dependants apply at a later date after mine?
2. If Yes (which I believe it is), must their application be made before the expiration of the primary applicant's COS or can the application made after the expiration?
Though I want the best option for all, cash availability is also a challenge, hence the aforementioned questions.
NB: Employer is an A rated Sponsor.
Thanks Well the COS is for 3 months only, I dont know if COS can be reissued or renewed but it is best you all apply within the 3 months validity of the COS You can all apply separately within the validity period once your sponsor ticked yes for maintenance...but outside that you would have to show proof you can sponsor your dependants Depending on how large your dependants are, I would suggest you source for cash and do the application for them within the validity of the COS. You can put a different entry date for them... without COS you are looking at least 4 -6 months of work and savings for you because you would need to have funds and accommodation for them to join you |

Ebuka86: “”Good evening gurus So, I already had my biometrics and its been over the 15 working days wait period. Was just going to track my application now and mistakenly clicked on upload, and my edossier is open again and saying 'Application not yet Submitted' . Has anyone ever experienced this? Or does anyone know what it means“ @hunnybee I just experienced this, how did you manage to resolve this ...sorry I had to use this method as other methods have been evasive. Kindly respond Your documents have already been sent for processing so I wouldn't worry too much as that page is just a status update page for tls contact and doesn't affect your Visa process... What you should do is to call in to find out the status of the Visa and ask for an escalation...the call costs about £1.73 minus your normal network charges for international calls , then an escalation fee of about 5,000 naira. It's the summer season so there are alot of delays this season... |

popplm: Greetings to everyone, I have been following this thread and gained a lot from the experience of fellow nairalanders. I am planning to secure a tier 4 student Visa for the next year september 2020 admission and planning to move with my 4 dependants (3 sons of 3,7,10 years and my wife) but I don't want to travel at the same time with them them to sort accommodation and other stuff before they finally join after 2 months
My question: can I apply for their Visa at the same time with mine and if yes, can the Visa still be active 3 months after it's issued?
Thanks. You can apply for visa at the same time for everyone but for your dependants you can put a later date as their date of entry, ...I'm not sure of the number of months allowed between such arrivals but I know different dates of entry can be put for dependants |
