lol @ paused crying to eye him. this made me laugh so loud.
Pele dear, i can't even start to imagine d pain

enkaydewdrop:
Hello everyone... Good morning...
Hope you guys are doing great...

So, yesterday was my clinic day, and I had the most traumatic experience ever...
I complained to the doctor about the contractions I've been having and he said they were just BH contractions, but that to be very sure, he'll do a VE...

Na em dis guy wear glove, clean me with disinfectant, or whatever, next thing, e chook hand inside my hoohaa, and kept pushing and pushing in, like he lost something inside me, and was trying to get it out... I screamed and screamed, asking and begging him to stop, the guy no gree oh... He just went on and on... I just kept screaming and screaming and almost fell off the bed, I tried pushing him off, but he kept pushing...
It was at the point I was about to slap him that he now stopped... Oh! It was the worst pain ever...

Next thing, he turned to my husband and said "ah... only one finger and your wife is shouting like this, when was the last time you two had sex" (which is actually a long time)... I was just crying in one corner...
Then he told my husband that we should better prepare for CS, because my pain threshold is very low... I wanted to ask him if he was normal... I just paused from my crying and eyed him and continued crying...

When i got home and peed, my hoohaa was peppering me as if I had an open wound there...

Biko sisters...

1...Is a VE supposed to be that painful?
2...Will I be able to push my precious baby out when it's time? I no dey do any CS oh...
3...Wasn't the doctor supposed to use lube before inserting his finger, or something?
4...I started having lower abdominal pains (like menstrual cramps), down to my upper thigh last night, up till now... They're bearable, but very irregular. Is it as a result of the VE?

I'm so sorry for the long post... Please, help your sister...

Please as difficult as it is, try and take your mind off it.. The more you dwell on it, it feels like it's not gonna happen. I pray God gives your a testimony soon. smiley

MissTols:
Dear Mamas in the house.

This is my first post on nairaland. Ive been a silent observer for a while now, and I've been reading and digesting all the comments in respect of TTC. I must say that Ive learnt a lot from you ladies so much so that if you see the questions i ask my doctor... you would think i was a doctor too.

Ive been TTC for about 2 years now (I know its not a long time compared to others). The doctor diagnosed PCOS. This came as a shock to me as my period was always bang on time (up until when i started TTCing). Also i remember before my wedding that i always had ovulation pain every month instead of menstrual pain that many people usually complained of. I went through all the tests including the much dreaded HSG, everything suggests im fine. However upon closer inspection of my ovaries the doctor noticed that i had several immature follicles.

I have gone through 3 ovulation inducing cycles (clomid, metformin, FSH, HCG) and 1 failed IUI. My ever supportive mother in law even took me to an Iya Alagbo, but the agbo(s) are just too bitter for me. I fear that if i don't conceive on time maybe she would stop being so supportive.

My husband is the most supportive husband ever, however, my heart breaks whenever i see him play with children. I always feel that i have let him down.

At this point i really don't know what else to do. I have prayed, gone for MFM deliverance etc. but nothing yet. People keep telling me that I should stop thinking about it, and it would happen when i least expect it. But how can i stop thinking about something so important.

So for now, i continue to take the metformin, folic acid, vitamin e and evening primrose oil and i pray that God will answer my prayer.

After reading all this inter-tribal marriage tips, I feel like I would have failed woefully if I married my ex who was yoruba...lol. I am igbo btw.

#JustSaying

sugah:
Have you never met the inlaws before?

Im Igbo, DH is yoruba. One of the first times I met his aunties I hugged them cry cry cry The talk that followed eh you would think I slapped someborry. My DH sha gave them a stern warning to always remember our tribal differences. Since then my dear, I kneel (first then hug) to greet everyone even my own people grin grin so I dont make mistake.
So my own list,
-Always kneel down to greet.
-If you sabi the language, you are lucky. I understand but I dont speak..well except for greetings.
Make sure you always greet..Eku joko, Eku ile, Eku dide, Eku iyagbe grin
-I don't know if the igbos do this as well, but when you go visiting always offer to help in the kitchen. Do igbos do thishuh Personally my kitchen is my private space, I usually dont like other people being in it so I find it awkward going into people's kitchens. But I have learnt to always offer to help.

Congrats on ur twins teamie..... smiley

Favouredmom:
Hello mamas in the house, pls is it normal to still have cramps at 12 weeks plus? My tummy feels tight but I thought the cramps should be all gone by now. I want to be like iomoge2 as I don't want an early bump but I can see the dark line already, I want to hide the bump for as long as I can.

I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE

DRUMROLLS...............

WE ARE HAVING TWINS!!! EVERYTHING NA DOUBLE DOUBLE, NA DOUBLE DOUBLE cheesy kiss

DH and I have agreed not to let anyone know this until delivery, it's hard for me to keep it away from my sisters but I have to be an obedient wife.

I'm no longer surprised I had terrible MS, maybe it was the twin syndrome thingy because sometimes, I threw up like 5 times in a day, sorry TMI. I had to take leave away from work as I couldn't cope running to the bathroom everytime I felt nauseous. It was that bad but surprisingly at 11weeks 4 days, the vomitting miraculously reduced and I started eating. I've lost about 8kg since the beginning of pregnancy but my appetite is gradually coming back and I'm eating in moderation again. I still throw up like once a day, usually early in the morning, but it's so much better now. This is my testimony.

@ enque we will have to ginger our teammates as much as possible. I guess the MS is still dealing with a lot of them and some people have not yet discovered this thread. They'll come around hopefully.

@ Zaynie spill and don't keep us in suspense, warrisalldat angry

As for Mr haute, it's good you calmed yourself down, we just might pity you and reduce the way we call your moniker, you hear? We can be nice like that if you cooperate. I'm sure you've learnt your lessons. Go and sin no more and remain a gentleman smiley

To all mamas that have dropped their LOs gracefully, God be with you and your families. May your children continually bring you joy.

Oya team December ladies, e bo sita o, come out o. We are special people as our LOs are festive babies and we won't carry last by God's grace. Don't let them label us 'dulling mamas'.

Na only me dey shout for midnight like bush woman, no vex na time difference things grin

Bet mamas how are you people kpekusing? The thing is becoming harder as DH dey fear make LOs no vex tell us say we too dey playful

Hey Ma,

I think you are doing a good job as the team captain o. I know we all have our good days and our somehow days. Some mamas may not post often but they actually follow actively. My team members #TeamDecember are a lot more quiet than your team sef, but i take it that bodies and pregnancis r different and with time, they will come around. Hence a lot of stuff I have learnt so far, I learnt from other teams pending when my team members come around.

Mamas please let's show our presence.
We have been too quiet.
Or Maybe I don't ginger enough, do we need another Mama to take over so I can hand over.
Please let's speak up, cos I feel left out in the cold.

Let's nominate someone we are kool with please. It's heartbreaking not hearing from most mamas here for over 4weeks straight and they come to nairaland.
I read through every line just to see November mama's saying something.
Very few of us are active here.
Like only 5 people.
It's unfair.

I want to nominate Jumayin to take over please.
Lemme get just 10 likes n it's settled. - Atleast that way it's anonymous.
That's like 50% vote please.

Buh if you want some else, please just say the name n we vote.

Even if you are not a November mama, please help us like this post so jumayin can take over.

Hello Sixx, I wasn't on any drugs to suppress morning sickness. it's all natural. my mum and elder sis went thru all 6 pregnancies without any form of morning sickness, so I guess that's why they are not surprised mine is going d same route...lol.
I'm curious tho, do u really want morning sickness? undecided

Sixx:
Gud am, mamas, I slept well o. N u?
Happy childrens day in arriers bt we are still in d spirit of celebration sha.

@Blessedmum are u still in d hospital? Hw u doing now. Me I knw dat God has settled u already come september, baby will continue her kicking in ur arms. U are healed IJN.

Pls I hv a question o. First
@enque were u on any drug, vitamins or even food dat helped u avoid morning sickness or all is nature?

Secondly
@lomoge since u were taking B6 like me, did it prevent morning sickness 4 u, hw was ur experience like. I read online dt vitamin B6 supresses morning sickness, is it true?

Pls I need ur replies n oda sabi mamas too, biko nu

Immediately I got my bfp confirmed at the hospital, my doctor placed me on folic acid and ferrous sulphate tabs. My aunt who is a doctor recommended that I add pregnacare plus cos I may not b eating well and my baby needs a lot of vItamins. So in total I have been taking folic acid + ferrous sulphate+ pregnacare plus.

As per your purging issue, I am a first time mum so I don't have so much experience, but one thing I remember is my mum always tells me not to take anything that will make me purge. I have been dealing with constipation which she says is normal (my mum and I have similar pregnancy symptoms), so once it starts she tells me to take fruits but not in excess, so as not to purge. I think other experienced Mamas will enlighten u more on that matter.

Pele dear...It is well.

CovenantBabies:
Ok @Sixx, so ur not taking extra folic acid with the pregnacare. Thought it was said the folic acid in it is little?

Mamas, pls what's the recommended dose of folic acid please & also what combination of prenatals are better? Am thinking of using pregnacare with extra 400mcg or 800mcg folic acid and 1000mg Calcium or folic acid, ferrous, and 1000mg Calcium. They only gave me chemiron at the private hospital I use. I checked, the chemiron has 2mg folic acid in it, but am just skeptical taking chemiron alone as prenatal during pregnancy. I feel they prefer giving chemiron at that hospital cos chemiron is cheap for them.
Please is it wise taking chemiron alone as prenatal or what other better supplements should I do? Abeg na beg a dey beg o, make una no ignore me pls.
I've also been purging with stomach pain since the past two days. Pls is this normal? Although I took dry bread last night to help stop the purge. It worked a little but still having occasional stomach pains.
Pls is this a part of the package & what do I do?

I'm going to 13 weeks and I never for once had any morning sickness or the likes. The only thing I'm dealing with is fatigue and loss of appetite cos my taste buds feel so bland, and last I checked I'm still very pregnant...lol. Bodies differ tho, so u my dear are fine.

CovenantBabies:
My dear, me too dey search for the morning sickness o seriously, but truth is I don't want it! The earlier high fever was likely malaria, so went to my gyne & he gave me anti-malaria drug & chemiron & am back to my normal self. If not that I know am preggy, plus occassional cramps, I don't feel anything o.
How ur side? Pls what drugs & supplements are you on now?

Pls mamas is it normal not to have any symptoms yet or morning sickness? How many mg of folic acid shud I be on now & which supplements are recommended? joo o make una no vex abeg we need help.

Am wondering too when the metformin & cyclogest would be stopped.

You really really need your prenatal vitamins especially folic acid, as it is very essential in this 1st trimester. I am 10 weeks to, and I used to get that nauseous feeling too but what I did was to start taking d drugs at night after dinner instead of taking them during the day. That way I didn't feel the nauseous effect that much.

Sorry to ask o, but what exactly does your doctor have against pregnacare? Maybe U should find out. But in my honest opinion, it is you, who is pregnant that needs it because eating well can be a huge issue due to morning sickness n all. Anyways I'll let other experienced Mamas advice u more.

I don't even know what to say right now. I will keep praying for you Omowunmigan, and this will end in praise. You shall not cast your young, and I pray that we will all rejoice with U come December. Amen....Amen

omowunmigan:
I've cried an ocean of tears... Now I need God to shame the devil.. To show me he's still into miracles..
Doc said I should stop all my meds.. Said the wall lining is too thick and the sac should appear clear black.. He said the length is not proportional to the age.. I saw few black patches.. He called it Aqua something.. He said those pockets of whatever are not supposed to be in my sac.. He's preaching IVF.. In his words 'let this one go.. We can't save it.. Stop the meds.... Let's try IVF for you'. Then he took my blood sample for hcg.
I've been crying seriously.. But I know Almighty God liveth.. Since the old days when we didn't have sound medical machines and drugs..
Yes I'm crying.. Crying to God to do wonders... It's almost 8yrs..I've lost too many pregnancies!
Can someone please beg God for me!

Thanks Zaynie

zaynie:
Unless you actually have a high bp or slightly raised one or your parents are severely hypertensive, he shouldnt place you on drugs that cure high bp. Low bp is way worse than high bp.
He should rather watch you and you should get the machine that measures bp, every morning and night measure it and record. When it keeps rising and doesnt fall, then you report to your Dr even if the bp recorded on that day is normal.
Blood sugar is to test if you have diabetes or not.

Godmother, all the mamas have spoken.
@ all mamas that are reluctant to use drugs, please do esp if you are finding it difficult to eat.
Those drugs are VERY important for you and baby.
Unless you want to have bone and a lot of issues before you are 40. Your body will have to give up those nutrients by force, these are nutrients stored in muscles, bones, organs and so on.
Put in mind you will soon be breastfeeding; meaning more nutrients to sacrifice.
If you can, eat as much natural vitamins as you can. Just google.
Also you can make it easier by using them at night when going to bed.
