I had the rare opportunity to travel to Ado-Ekiti after the EndSARS Protests for a civil engineering work with one of the state major contractors and I was dazed with the high cost of everything in that state. Is like they are living in another world. Food is very cheap in Lagos compare to Ado. They have this uncaring attitude of not calling you back if you try to haggle a price. I also notice small guys in exotic cars, blasting music and the girls smoking like competing with Fela. I can't imagine seeing such high cost of everything in Ado and the people are use to it

Seasons greetings fellow nairalanders, I have come to seek solution for a problem that wants to lead me to depression.

My story goes this way;
When I was in primary school, what was reigning among the parents in my school then was encouraging their wards to stop at primary 5 and jump to secondary school. And that exactly was my case (I jumped primary 6 to secondary school) which made me not to write the First School leaving Certificate (FSLC) exam.

During our WAEC registeration in SS3 was when I told our counsellor about it (that I didn't sit for FSLC exam) and she shouted and encouraged me to go to a nearby primary school and register for it.
My mum and I did as the counselor instructed and registered for the FSLC exam the same year I registered for my WAEC. The headmaster argued that I'm too old to write the exam thus my younger sister wrote it for me.

Now I'm a University graduate (completed my Nysc).
A family friend gave me a replacement slot in one federal parastal and when I submitted my credentials to her, she noticed that my FSLC and waec are of the same date. She complained about it and told me that I may encounter problem on the way (ie that the recruitment may not be successful or that I may have issues in future even if I'm finally recruited. I was depressed after hearing that.

So I came here to seek for advice and clarification from people that are already in the system. PLEASE HOW CAN I ESCAPE BEING SCREENED OUT EITHER NOW OR WHEN I'M FINALLY EMPLOYED?

I am breaking my OWN words (of only communicating on my own threads) to speak on this tremendously important topic.
As Isaiah 8:20 states, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak NOT according to this word, it is because there is NO light in him."
So as plainly as that scripture states, the Lord is exact...which means that if one is claiming to be a "prophet/prophetess of God", then he/she better be sure that He has called him/her. Whatever is prophesied must come to pass or the person is false...point blank period.
There are conditions to being called and most oftentimes, those called rejected or relunctantly accepted the call initially because it was not a popular or fun-filled thing to do to call a stiff-necked, sin-ridden, wicked &back slidden world to repentance & sobedience to the Lord.
True prophets/prophetesses DO NOT prophesy smooth, tickling-to-the-ears words 95 percent of the time.
Unfortunately, we have more "self-appointed prophets" who are only into deceiving & fleecing(for financial gains) gullible, desperate & well meaning people, than are actually true God ordained ones.
That is why the Word of God should be used to test what any alleged prophet/prophetess says. He/she should always point one back to the Lord.

I do not quite agree with some of these, every prophesy is subject to God's approval and it does not mean the prophet is fake. God will always be God and he gives some utterances and decides which of the utterance will manifest. Not every prophecy can be tested with the word of God and anybody can prophesy as the spirit of prophecy is given freely. At a point, even Saul prophesied,David the murderer prophesied e.t.c

Not really, God has the discretion to change his mind on certain things. A prophet is just a messenger. Case of Jonah comes to mind, he said he knows after delivering the message the people will see him as a liar because God will change his mind . Another case is Elijah, he prophesy there will be rain and he used prayer to follow up . None of them were false

So touching...The rate of bad news accross the world in recent times is increasing exponentially compared to good news. Infact media houses like CNN, Aljazeera et al., have such bad news as headline news each moment.
