PoliticsRe: Rural Communities Pay More For Electricity Than Band A Customers – REA by epainos:
Here is my view on this issue.

Nigerians are their own enemies. In Lagos presently, I can say that electricity is stable in most places that are out of the reach of hustlers. Who are hustlers? They don't want to pay bills. They prefer bribing NEPA in those days to connect illegal lines. They connect illegal air conditioning system also. In an illegal house of like 3 or 4 floors in a building containing around 15 to 20 "face me, I face you" building, everyone buys a fridge or freezer, some even have illegal AC. They use pressing iron so much that you will think they are in the business of washing clothes. Then, they don't want to use kerosene which was extremely cheap in those days, they will turn on their hot plates when ther is electricity. But when the landlord submitted application for electric connection before the tenants move in, hardly will you see more than 3 refrigerators per floor. No hot plate, AC, etc were filled in the form. So, NEPA of those days would give them transformers with the capacity of what they applied for. But then, as time went by and these hustlers became rogues, transformers start blowing anyhow.

Also, rogues in NEPA in those days would rather collect bribes from industries to give them electricity rather than residents. Now, most industries generate their electricity need via gas or petrol so, these DISCOS around now don't have choice but to supply residents. Do you grab it? And the system is getting better.

Here is the issue...since the rent in most developed part of Lagos is high, those rogues have ran out. Lol. Also, old houses are been demolished so that new applications are received and decent people who are ready to pay are the ones in these areas. Rogues have run to Ikorodu, Ayobo, Idimu, Ajah extension...and down beyond. Go to Lagos Mainland, Lekki, Ikoyi, etc and tell me if electricity isn't constant there. Ebute Metta used to be a terrible place in those days, now, most old houses are being demolished. What of Surulere? It's when you get to the extension (attached) where rogues still reside that are still having issues.

Most people complaining here are among the rogues. grin And some aren't but just unfortunate to not have the means to relocate. Pray to God to bless you and leave behind the rogues in your areas. They are the wahala. They don't want to pay.....always connecting illegal stuff. The capacity of transformers in their areas canot be enough. No matter how DISCOS increase the capacities, those rogues will keep loading more appliances because they don't pay. So, DISCOS companies aren't stupid na.

These residents in the rural areas use according to what they can afford. It is generally affordable when you aren't among the rogues. Lol.

Good luck to you all. PAY YOUR BILLS!!!
SportsRe: Taribo West’s Salary In 1999 Emerges After Criticising FG For Abandoning Rufai by epainos: 5:01am On Aug 26, 2025
Very deceptive thread. They calculated without tax removal. Lol. And that was per annum. Remove tax and see what's left. Lol. Very funny people.

Taribo was the under paid in his club. He was cheated badly but endured. Jay Jay was paid peanut compared to the talent he has. He was in the same class with Rohaldinho. He was too good.

People still don't get it. Peter Rufai did not ask anyone for 1 kobo. NFF did not know about his illness sef. And it was a long term thing. The mistake I can say he did was that he didn't get pali of another country where he can access better health care at a cheaper cost. Peter spent all his money on his sickness na. Yet, he asked no one...one kobo. He didn't expect his family to ask anyone for his burial as I believe he would want a queit one. Na him family wan cash put asking for help. Person no ask help for his treatment, but family go.ask for money after he died.

And Taribo is right. NFF is useless. Yes, they should help the family. Did Rufai ask for help when he was alive? Nope. So, he is right. NFF is useless.

Peter might not want a big burial, but he was a legend. He should be buried quietly. That was our number 1 na. Rufai. The excellent goal keeper. Too good in his days. When we won the nations cup, Pele picked two Nigerian excellent players. Guess who they are: Jay Jay and Rufai. Respect this man.
FoodRe: Bill Gates-backed Company Creates Butter Made From Carbon Without Animals Or Oil by epainos: 3:16pm On Aug 24, 2025
Many nations are tapping into this because it is unlike with UN's sustainability policies. This will undoubtedly reduce carbon emission which is one of the greatest challenge the human race is facing at this point. But at your risk if you start consuming it. Let me wait for like 5 years and see if there is no significant side effect. Lol. grin
SportsRe: Peter Rufai Burial: I Will Never Advise My Son To Play For This Country - Taribo by epainos: 9:30am On Aug 23, 2025
Most of the people here are talking nonsense because they are children.

Stephen Keshi and this man set paid for Osimhen and Lookman. Jayjay, Okocha, and Ikpeba all tried small. Jayjay did not play for Real Madrid because he was offered peanuts. I believe Weah simply closed his eyes to the opportunity he had from Milan and played with his heart to become the world's best player. However, these small boys believe that these men are very similar to today's boys. Nope.

Yes, they made money, let us not kid ourselves, but they also have extremely high expectations. DodoMayama had a failed marriage to a Belgian woman, so I understand how he could have lost money.

Then DodoMayama returned to use his money to run an academy that trains goalkeepers and players. He even turned down an offer from the NFF because he knew they would owe him money. They are owing him till date oooo. How can you trust an employer who owes you money to offer you a new job? That's not wise. So, if you blame him for rejecting the Nff offer, you are missing the point.

In addition, Dodomayana was owed by his clubs. I once read that he took some up legally. But he is an African. They treated them not so well.

Finally, he died from a long-term disease that they did not specify. I am not sure what caused his death, but a kidney problem requiring dialysis can only be survived if you have a good international health plan. No matter how wealthy you are, you will die in Nigeria. You will waste all of your resources. No one knew about his health problem until he died, so he paid for everything. And for him to have kept it up for so long before dying indicates that he had overspent.

So having a backup plan, such as becoming a citizen of a country with good health care, is a wise decision. If DodoMayama had not had a problem with his Belgian wife, he would have been like Oliseh. He could have easily treated himself rather than wasting his money on a long-term illness.

And, for your information, he went to university after his playing career. Who paid for it? DodOMayana himself.

DodoMayana never asked the people of NFF for anything, but he could not just save money for his burial, so his family began contacting the government. I believe he would have preferred a silent burial to prevent this issue from becoming public.

DodoMayana is, in my opinion, the best thing that has happened to the Nigerian Post. In my opinion, he outperformed Vicent Enyeama. He was our next number 1 after the Best Ogedengbe era ended. This man gave everything to Nigeria. He had a run with a very good goalkeeper and got his number from him. If you know how good Willy Agbonavnbare was in his day, you will understand why Rufai was regarded as extremely good, and why he occupied the number one position. When Rufai is on the post, just forget it....nothing dey enter easily. However, he made the mistake of replacing (I believe Dosu Jospeh, if I am not mistaken) in one of our World Cup matches. He had already reached his retirement age. He was not even his number one goalkeeper at the time because he was already planning to become a goalkeeper coach. And boom ....our first goal keeper got injured. Who did they run to? DodoMayama. I was like, "Why?" Well, he did his best, but that team was nothing to write home about. The defence sef exposed him, letting us know that DodoMayama was not the same person as the old Rufai, who still kept things together. That was the first time I noticed Peter shouting so loudly at his defenders. He was shouting so much during their matches.

Those who know this man regard him with respect. Goodbye, DodoMayana. You were the best during your time. He was a reliable goalkeeper.
PoliticsRe: After A Decade Of Delay, Tinubu Restarts Abuja Centenary City Construction by epainos: 8:45am On Aug 23, 2025
It is clear that Nigerians want food. For bow, most aren't demanding for good housing, healthcare, and well-being. But they also don't realise that good infrastructure precedes affordable quality food. These projects should have been there a long there, but they kept on embezzling. Even now, they are still.

Well, the president we need now may not be a first class brain or a perfect one because the bar for the Aso Rock is too low. As of today, the man who can continue with this pace of Tinubu's infrastructure development, or even beat it. Then, the person must invest heavily in food security. The irony is that if one can easily see for decades the evidence of infrastructural development because they are assets, but food production is over 90% expense. So, if you decide to loot most of the money, you are finished.

Staple food production - rice, beans, corn, Millet, sorghum, cassava, yam, etc must be in abundance. We must provide for at least 300million people and even have surplus before we can say that we have a super food security.

But to achieve the above, corruption must be tackled. The man who will do it will step on toes and we are playing democracy and politics.

Which way to go Nigeria?

A beg...make Tinubu finish his 8 years and continue all his projects. Thisbis my view because I ahev not seen anyone who can curb corruption. And it is essentially the next demon we must conquer to move forward. Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, El Rufai, Amaechi, Wike, Makinde, Shetimma, Uzo Kalu, etc.

The only person who comes to my mind that can stand against corruption and crush it is Ngozi Iweala. She has the mind to stop it, but I am not sure if she has the energy needed. If Akiluyi (the late NAFDAC boss) was alive, he would have been my first choice assuming she still had the same attributes as the person who led NAFDAC.

Otedola only tapped into trading and government contracts. He can't make it big if he plays on the level with many of his mates. Though, I acknowledge his success. Many have squandered such opportunity, and there are many who had better stuff than him, and they still messed it all up.

Almost 42 years

With 2 children (Almost 6 and Almost 4)
Wife working.

Lost it all in bad collaboration, fraudulent investments, bad/wrong investments and also theft.

Got an asset that can give him ₦20m after debts are paid.
How does he bounce back with the above?

Rent is 2m annually
School fees is 300-350k termly.
Feeding ₦150k+ monthly
Others: ₦100k monthly

If you are in his shoes, what are you going to do?

He plans to be responsible for running the house this time around without relying on assistance from the wife to restore sanity/orderliness.

Advice him from the point of financial and career stability,
Running cost of your home from the figures you gave above is N6m - N6.5m per annum. If you don't want to lose your family, I am going to suggest you have 3 times of this amount in a safe place. That's like saying minimum of N6m per year. If you have nothing to do, and inflation doesn't make rent or food prices go up, you are covered for 3 years. And if it does, you are covered for 2 years and you will struggle hard the 3rd year, but you will survive it.

So, you are left with N3m to hustle out what you want to do to make more money. This is the reality here. What can N3m do? This is what you need to ask.

Maybe you need to quickly find a way to reduce your expenses by moving to a cheaper apartment and even reduce more expenses from other areas so that you can have more capital for whatever you want to do. It's another option you should look into. Kids moving to cheaper schools in time of crisis isn't bad. Also, buying food in bulk to reduce the cost of food can be helpful too.

Anyway, sit down well and make sure you have 3 good years money to run your your family. If you don't do this, you will not be able to focus.

Then, you can plan well. You can learn a new skill, run a transportation business by yourself to raise more money, learn gardening and open one (very lucrative if you know how to do it), or whatsoever you find good.

At least you know that you have 3 years to run faster than Usain Bolt.

Good luck!

She no go get her ROI back? grin The time comes for her to get her ROI back to back, and one "yebrika" gal wan spoil the show, she go stay? She no go stay.

The same gal too go invest in her kids ooo. And the cycle continues.

The day we shift that mentality of investing in kids to the right one, things like this will stop. Your kids are your obligations and everything you do for them, do not expect anything back from them. If they give you, accept and bless them. If dem no give, focus on your life. But you build your life around them such that you will do absolutely nothing in your old age and they will be 100% responsible for you, and you think it's OK. No worry. Dem go kpai you. And you too go kpai many others. Se una brains no wa reset ni.n

Also, fix the nation. Let's make the health system OK such that there will be care homes and you don't need to burden your kids with your care. How do you dress for a bomb? Im curious to know. Or you think there are wears that can stop it from killing the person trying to neutralize it? Lol. If yes, no one will fear to move near it. Anyone trying to neutralize a bomb is putting his life on line. This is the truth. They can only prevent themselves should in case it is a biological weapon.

Dogalmighty17:
2.2 meter bomb? That's one hell of a large UXO. It is bigger than most of the UXOs currently being found all over Europe. Something that large can level entire city blocks so it means it was a dud dropped from a Nigerian airforce fighter jet.

Taking a look at that bomb again, I can't help but wonder if it wouldn't have been better to have detonated the bomb on site. There was no point risking the life of the police personnel by having him handle the bomb. The area was uninhabited. Placing huge metal blocks around the UXO and detonating it would have been the better option. The police got off lucky.

Till date, there are entire areas in France that can't be developed due to UXOs from WW1. Over 110 years later, those bombs and grenades still pose an active threat. Farmers in France operating in such areas, have to be extremely careful and avoid certain areas. Bombs from WW1 still explode in that country. Germany (WW2) and Vietnam constantly deal with UXOs all the time. Vietnam in particular, had more bombs dropped on that country by the US than all the bombs dropped by all the countries in WW2, combined.
Landmines are what you are talking about, and are different. That's not a landmine in the picture.

Who are the “us” that debt was left for?
Go back to Secondary School English Comprehension.

Do you have the same father and grandfather with every other person that you are saying “us”?
Take serious "collective pronoun". It will do you good if you learn about it. You should ask your new teacher about pronouns either collective or not used for groups.

Speak for yourself. How much is the debt your father and grandfather left for you? Can you give me a figure?
Take my advice up serious because if you can comprehend an article which addressed a group of people, you won't jump into it and personalised such. What a pity?

What are government’s constitutional responsibility to the people of Nigeria?
When you are supposed to be specific, you then chose to talk in general. Lol. Take my advice serious.

How well has the government been carrying out these responsibilities?
Another subject for you is "government". Go back to study it well.

If government is doing its job, will people circumvent processes?
Another topic you must learn is "Moral Instructions". Obviously, you didn't learn anything in that class. Or perhaps, you were a truant.

In as much as I don't trust any politician, and I know this government is very ruthless, but I must confess that it's the language over 98% of Nigerians understand. If you allow Nigerians, they don't mind connecting illegal lines so they avoid paying bills, and they want electricity 24/7. Most Nigerians would steal groceries if they had the opportunity...their motto are: "na where person dey work, person dey chop", and "everyone na business men, na the one dem catch be thief". Lol.

If they don't remove subsidy, we will keep accumulating debts for who? For our children. This is the way out fathers and grand fathers accumulated it for us na. They enjoyed all and rhen destroyed it...they looted it all. So, the debts keep growing, and we want to keep passing them to who exactly? Lol. Whoever is gonna pay will do so in pain.

Anyway, it's another story to clear some, and then, reloot them. Lol. Nigerians want to kill Nigeria by force. It's so hard to kill Nigeria, but Nigerians are so desperate to kill Nigeria. If not, why don't we make credible elections work? This is the only tool we have. They will point fingers at APC and the oga who told his thugs to "snatch it, grab it, and run away with it". Trump is the wrongest man to even be the president of the tiniest nation in this present world, but the Democrats made it possible to get him reelected. Why? He simply took the bold step to say publicly he would dismantle sexual abominations presently promoted by Democrats and which they are forcing African nations to accept. No one had the gut to say such, not to talk about doing it.

Also, he stood behind Israel, and showed it publicly by moving the US embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem during his first term. This senator knows the truth.

That's an uncommon instrument in the hands of God. But do not make the mistake that someone better who won't discriminate against other races will soon come on board and erase all wrongs he is presently committing.

He said it himself that he is a product of Babalola's ministry. Instead of him to run to God for repentance and apologise for his words, he put out a statement denying what he said. And he even lied again in his video.
Christianity EtcRe: CAC Responds To Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo by epainos:
Chai!

Fatoyinbo has touched where he shouldn't. Chai. He said that about Joseph Ayo Babalola!

Ha! Even Benny Hinn has talked about Babalola in a good way. T.B Joshua did not even dare say a bad thing about him despite many didn't agree with T.B. Even these young pastors who are coming up (the likes of Joshua Selma) acknowledged Babalola.

Biodun said Babalola died poor? This boy called Biodun Fatoyinbo is definitely something else. A whole Babalola that Bishop Idahosa paid respect to. Biodun isn't spiritually filled. He doesn't know Babalola at all. Babalola had everything provided for, and he didn't even use much from it because he didn't need them.

You compare Babalola to Katryln Kurmahn when it comes to prayer. Yes, I am serious. The only difference was that Babalola did not even try to go into wealth accumulation. All his provisions were met. Does he think Babalola drank wine and ate the best of meat like him? Babalola who they said would enter prayer and wouldn't come out even 7 days several times in a year. I heard the story that he led a prayer meeting in a pastors' prayer meeting, and he went into the spiritual world. He opened his eyes later and apologised that he was sorry that the meeting took 1 hour or so more than he anticipated. The pastors looked at him and said "Baba, this is the third day". Babalola looked at them and realised he was the only one in the same cloth as others had changed. They told him that they had someone always with him the whole time when they understood that he had gone into his own meeting with God. That was a man who would fast for minimum of 40 days every new year to ask direction from God. His life was prayer and fasting. How can such a person concern himself with buying expensive things? Everything he used in his life was well provided for.

About his children, Biodun messed up big time. Ha ba! He could have checked. His children would be Biodun's grand parents or maybe at worst parents. Mehn! I pity those attending this boy's church. He has the gut to say that about Joseph Ayo Babalola? Mehn! This boy's end will not be so good if he doesn't repent fast and ask for the forgiveness of this sin..and quickly publish a public apology.

In his manipulative way to make his members take money making more serious (manipulative way to make them pay more tithes and offerings) that asking for spiritual gifts, he wants to damage the reputation of a friend of God. This boy sha. I pity him.

I pray he repents.

Let UAE take them na. grin No one wants wahala people. South Sudan as a pre-dominant Christian nation will not take up this deal. I'm sure many Christians nations will start pressing their neck. Their desperation to have foreign aids should not let them take wahala. Hamas will destroy the whole of South Sudan in just a decade. They should not add to their trouble.
