It's more of being all over the place than lack of Energy. Our midfield was easily overrun. Our defence was under intense pressure from the first minute. Something as simple as a competent CDM alongside Mctominay could have changed things.

If our attackers allow our defense to be overloaded, a competent CDM won't help much. He can't be everywhere. But if their fullbacks know they have to stay tight to our wingers, the work becomes easier for our fullbacks and CDM

United will need to sign a good and proper Central Midfielder(s) before we can truly dominate matches including games like City's.....

Even with a proper CM, if the team as a whole is not keeping up with the energy or even doing more than their opponent, it will still end in tears. Those guys need to enter every match like it's war, not to talk of a derby

Case starting has not been really good based on previous games. So if you are suggesting MCM and Case experiment, well let's wait and see how they perform whenever that experiment is tried.

We needed destroyers in that game. People that can intercept passes and match you strength for strength or foul you. Yeah case would have done okay, alongside Mctom. We’ll most likely still lose but the city players will be frustrated a lot

at this stage of development, I believe he can utilize the 3-5-2 in away games against top 6.
Casemiro's passing between the lines is very good from my observations so far, so we can actually accommodate another energetic hound at the base.

I’m not too bothered about the defeat. I hope ETH identifies those gaps and fix them. The gaps were there against assnal but we got away with murder. Against lfc we were better. Maybe that formation against top teams will do us some good, but it’s the smaller teams I’m even concerned about. We’ve not really showed our strength against the small teams and we need to start doing that. That’s the key to familiarizing ourselves with how we want to play as a team. So far imo, it has not really been a great experience.

Elanga is not that strong on the ball either, and less technical but at least he puts in a shift both ends and tries to take players on.

Greenwood is far more of a threat than Sancho. I’m not too sure about Elanga, but maybe he can put in a shift if gingered enough. For Sancho, could it be a psychological thing? He’s much better than he’s offering. Maybe he can’t just be that person for this team

This loss and the way we collapsed is on ETH. Two people he needed to man mark are Bernardo and KDB. He should have started Case and McTom, and the wingers must track the runs of their full backs. What kind of delusion did they have going into the game that they thought they could get away without doing these things. Well I’ll see how they bounce back

Been reading about Sancho’s game appearance yesterday. Sancho against Arsenal was not it too. He left Malacia exposed through out the game, and if it were city we played that day we would have lost terribly too. Saka and his team couldn’t make use of the opportunity after turning Malacia multiple times. It was when he was withdrawn some sanity returned to that wing. When he’s not scoring, he’s proven to be useless

That's what you get when you want to play attacking and possesion football. You will have to sacrifice your defence. Man city is defence is more worse than man u own but their attack is covering them. You can look how Madrid was easily scoring man city in champions league semi final

To play attacking football, we have to do better with the ball and don't lose it where we can be hurt in seconds. We're still very sloppy with the ball. We're still far from City and ETH overestimated how the strength of this team

Hopefully we sort out that midfield and wing play soon. Still a lot to be desired there. We're actually far from dominating a game against a decent side, I wonder why ETH didn't just go total defensive today. Saw some goals and the middle was just bypassed like it was nonexistent

Then if we want to defend against big teams, forget about pressing from the front except in very rare cases when we are in front of their goal and we want to recover the ball before the opponent does a counter attack on us.

We defend, do low block and hope for the best upfront with our strikers preserving their energies. If our striker is pressing upfront with our current set up, na safe journey!

You don't want to find out if you can force a mistake? And by the way, I'm talking about every player pressing and running, not just the striker
