Leyqute: 100% agree. But you know there are several moving variables.
The same Conte that won the league in Italy with Napoli and Chelsea in England was sacked by Tottenham without winning a spoon.
Like you said, there are levels to this stuff. Please remind me why they sacked Conte at Tottenham again |

Jamiuokolaa: The "Committed" Ragnick wanted to combine the consultancy role at Man utd with the Austrian Job and rightly had to leave. Besides, nothing on his CV suggests that he would have become the "messiah" you are trying to portray him as...
The point here still remains - if we are blaming players/recruitment as the issue plaguing the club for years, it means we should have even stuck with the useless Moyes and probably other coaches that followed while trying to address the problem.
You cant be saying it's a player/recruitment thing and still found cursing previous managers who "suffered" under the same recruitment palava that you are attempting to use as an excuse for Amorim's woeful performance at the club It is impossible to combine both roles or you're just looking for talk? Consultant o, not full time employment. I don't even think consultancy was initially what was agreed but for argument sake. For the last time, ETH was part of what you're referring to as the player/recruitment thing. He demanded and took over that role himself. He can't be excused. |

Jamiuokolaa: If the purported root cause of the club woes is "bad recruitment over the years", how can you turn around to blame a manager that "became aware" of this issue and decided to take control of his destiny by targeting players he has worked with in the past?
Its not ETH's fault, Ole's fault and even Moyes fault then!
#Theyshouldhavestayed Couldn't he demand the right people to be in place before taking the job? We had Ragnick, who was shouting from the rooftop about how bad it was, but ETH came in and said he didn't want him around. He didn't want someone questioning his transfer targets. You can't rewrite history |

Jamiuokolaa: He did his best under those circumstances so he can't be faulted.
According to you, the recruitment has been rubbish even before he joined so you cant blame him for taking his destiny into his hands Are we talking about the same person who demanded full responsibility for players' recruitment? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 2:57pm On May 22, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: It's not dancing around - its being consistent
If we are saying the managers are not the problem and it's the players, then ETH even gets the most pass because he literally had to combine other people's job (recruitment) with his own.
If the player recruiters were doing their job well, ETH wouldn't have taken recruitment upon himself. So ETH instead of doing the right thing decided to do the recruitment himself and failed, then landed us in a much hotter mess is who you're being consistent about? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by eph12(m): 2:38pm On May 22, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: It wasn't ETH's fault - he isn't a recruiter
It is the fault of those that failed to recruit the right players and thats why ETH had to be doing their job
Since we are now in the mode of "manager isn't to blame"...let's keep up the same energy No we are not in that mode. I'm not interested in dancing around. It's not productive |

Leyqute: Before ETH, Ole finished 2nd and remains the only manager to have consecutive top 4 finishes. Before him was Mourinho, who performed even better, I’d say.
Hindsight is 2020, but the fact remains:
Man United’s continuous drop over the years whilst firing managers is evidence enough that the problem is not managers alone.
The club needs to create the right atmosphere for anyone coming in, players included. Let them do their job and give them the best equipments and atmosphere to do it. The quality of the team has been dropping every year until last year where we had a good transfer window with the purchase of Maz, Delight, Yoro, and Heaven. I'm not convinced on Ugarte yet but he could still come good. Our major problem is our inability to score goals which is affecting the other areas of the team. We need at least 2-3 immediate starters there. Then midfield and WB can do with some new additions. |

Bombblacks: None of our previous managers finished in 16th, none of our previous managers had 12losses in 25league games, none of our previous managers finished below 8th even with lesser players.
Our previous managers were finishing top 2 and even top 4 which was the bare minimum. This is our worst league finish in 50years. Keep on ignoring the problem staring at your face. The last manager before Amorim finished top 4, then 8, then was sacked at 12 or so. You notice the progress right? Yeah keep on ignoring the problem staring at your face |

patrickmuf: Finally, I can see the back of this torrid season...
Whatever the club does, we should go after players who are confident in tight spaces and do not treat a football like a bomb. We need to sign at least 3 technicians who can also put in the work.
Our play is just too lethargic, it's a shame that several managers after, our players still don't approach a game with the intensity modern football demands. Check all the successful teams of recent years; they play with a good level of intensity, and they cover a lot of ground. Let them continue to change managers and not fix the real issues, na here we go dey |
