Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane will bring improvement. Sancho offers a threat they haven’t had down the right and Varane brings pace, experience and medals at the back.

It’s a good and expensively assembled squad. There should be real pressure on United to deliver this season. They have been through a period of transition, but that talk has to stop now.

For Sancho, his numbers are insane. He has to be given time to adjust to his new teammates. But the movements have to be very good from the team to create spaces and chances. We can be very static at times, so I hope that changes if not he will find himself bringing the ball back whenever he tries to make something happen

I don't see Varane as a messiah of some sort. I can't really say I have watched him closely these last few years though. But I also don't expect him to be bullied on the air the way Lindelof gets bullied. And then I think he has some pace too

With VDB, we shouldn't lose too many possessions, but our attack will be slow and maybe dull. If only he can sit in front of the defense

I have my doubts too, I must say. I sincerely hope he’s a major upgrade on what we have on ground.

I’m not too concerned about Sancho because we have a good attack already and his presence will likely be a plus. I’m banking on it being a huge plus because he is a pass-first kind of player. We just need Cavani and Bruno to be sharp in front of goal. Cavani especially. That guy has mad movements and if Sancho can track them we’ll blast teams away. We just need Cavani to be fit.

And yes. The defense too.

I don't really have any doubts about Varane or anybody until I see them play for this team. We have upgraded with two very good players without losing any important player, that's good for us. Can't wait to see how our first 10 games in all competitions turn out
