There is no pattern. Even if a DM comes, he will be very isolated because the team doesn't play as a cohesive unit

If you can't dominate Wolves midfield with Pogba, Fred, Bruno (Matic and Mata) then you are not ready.

What midfield? Fred is not a DM, will never be. Pogba has no business playing too deep with all that defensive responsibility.

That said, I think the major problem here is that we lose the ball too easily. This current set of players should be able to keep the ball and starve opponents, but they're always in a hurry to break, therefore losing the ball too many times

The midfield is very important for a team that wants to dominate. If the team is creating plenty chances and solid in midfield, an average striker can do a good job.

Playing McTom only tells of how limited both players are.

If we don't get a solid DM into this team before the end of transfer window, then those two have to play together especially against opponents like this that won't sit back.

I laugh when people say we should play one of Fred and Tom instead of double CDM. When opposition breaks through our attack like they did some minutes ago, we will always be in deep shit.

Finally I hope to see what Sancho brings and what to expect from him this season

Exactly! And those two areas are very key. This is not fantasy football but real life. Those positions can hurt our team no matter the attacking firepower we have, especially when it matters most

On paper, yes the gains outweigh the set backs. But in reality, we will be like the galacticos before Mourinho joined, that were struggling even with the attacking firepower.

We can't even play out from the back successfully. Small pressure that opponent will mount on the midfield and defense, there will be some panic.

if Varane's pace limits the counter threat against United as expected, there's no reason we can't set up to outscore, and actually outscore in most of the league games.

We don't have one player to play that position. It's going to be a disaster even with all the attacking firepower
