I understand your points , but it’s about time we tell ourselves the truth. The protest has achieved a certain level of result which we should savor and see how it goes.

The protest is looking more like it has been hijacked by celebrity clout chasers, political jobbers and some mischieve makers. See the pictures below about an account of one of the protesters at surulere yesterday .

I think while we are making our voices heard we should be concern about the lives of our fellow youth as well. It is not cowardice , but being reasonable.

At this point I think the protests should be halted.

The IGP has announced SARS has been disbanded, he has informed Davido that a new tactical unit to take over from SARS will being training as from next week and the president has already addressed us promising a total reform of the police force.

Further protests on this same subjectay not make sense going forward. Let's see how things would pan out in the coming weeks.

Our voices have been heard already, make we no scatter everything with a directionless protest going forward.

Actions they say speak louder than words. Does the actions of the police so far look like there's any sort of leadership or they are ready to take human life serious?

On a serious note, FRSC and custom officer are worst (in term of corruption though not brutal like sars )
The only difference is that Sars are on the street even they can come and harass their victim in his mother's womb, while FRSC (and customs) are on our high ways doing their legal robbing

That's not the only difference. SARS don't need you to commit a crime to hold, kidnap and extort you. FRSC won't kidnap and extort you if you didn't commit a crime

You're not listening. There are other choices. Policemen can quit and go into business if they want to make honest living. Those SARS guys are not interested in the hard honest way but that option is there. If this was a kidnapper or yahoo boy, we wouldn't be making these excuses. I don't see how different SARS are from the yahoo boys that we condemn. Those ones too claim they're trying to escape poverty

If you dont address the issue from the bottom, carry everyone on this section even those protesting, put them in the same situation and watch in 6 months

Why are RRS different from SARS? Is it that RRS officers are from another country? Exchange their working conditions and we will soon be protesting END RRS

If the EndSars campaign didn't work, the ReformPolice campaign wouldn't have. The direction is clear, once SARS are out of the way, we will demand that the police is reformed.

There are teachers that have been collecting 50k and less for over 20 years, they didn't pick up guns to steal. Crime is a choice, one of the many choices. We are learning to make the right demands and it won't end there

Should everyone earning 53k and below turn to crime? That will be around half of our population if not more. Let's know now because people don't need guns to turn criminals

If their justification for terrorizing citizens is the failure of the government, then there are millions others that are in this category and can turn to crime too. If they need us to protest on their behalf, they should ask.

If you are hungry and not been paid but you have a legal gun. What are the things you are likely to do? I am sure you will say you should take your hunger like that and just die instead of robbing innocent but many people would rather do anything just to survive

They should ask us to protest for them and we will. Some have even started it. There's only so much the people can take.

Engrelvis when SARS arrests the alleged criminals, they demand money from them. Once that money is paid, the alleged criminals are released immediately. Please explain how this is fighting crime because one can steal millions and pay SARS 100k to go scot free

The problem In my opinion starts from recruitment, Law enforcement all over the world face a lot of risk to their lives and they get poorly paid. So that is enough incentive for them to be corrupt and money hungry in a lax society like Nigeria

I remember one guy that used to harrass us in the area as teenagers joined police within 2 months he was shot by smugglers around Idi-Iroko

So its not a job regular educated and calm people will likely do. Aside the officer rank, those law enforcement on the street are usually poorly educated and poorly paid

So if you are asked to face bullets to protect people while only receiving 20K a month which wont even be paid until 4 months later because one oga has sat on your salary and you cant even protest or strike like other workers or else they will jail you for mutiny then your only source of survival is to be corrupt and harrass people for money

Look at most police barracks they are usually the in squalid conditions, very dirty, the children not properly taken care of. Na barracks boys and girls dey first tear eye beause they mostly hustle for themselves

Ehn they should take it out on their ogas. They should either protest or resign. If I'm working for a company that don't pay me enough, I don't steal from their clients but resign from there. If they want us to protest for better funding on their behalf, we will. Not stealing and harassing us. I understand that their funding is poorly executed, even I feel sorry for those that stay in the barracks. But they shouldn't transfer the aggression to us, there is only so much we can take.

Like i mentioned yesterday, i only heard about SARS in the 90s and throughout my years in Ibadan and Lagos, i never saw one of their officers on the streets. I still don't know how they got to this shameful level.

Meanwhile, Femi Adeshina is being dragged and i just hope the man will debunk the allegations thrown at him for being the person that stopped Buhari from banning SARS.

Robbers hardly go out of their way to attack the families of police. They know that they won't be able to take that heat. It's a different force when that happens
