new2020: [s]Mumu...they never start yet with Buhari, you are here calling him strong strong man. All they need to do is to threaten him with Biiafra, he will devalue it to 300 naira. You don't understand how the world works. Let him proof stubborn...Gaddafi and Gbagbo treatment will await him.
Personally I think Naira should be devalued to 220 officially. This will bring parralel market rate to 230. This will help ordinary Nigerians. As it's right now only the elite are enjoying the astounding difference in official and parralel market rates. I assure you between God and man...Buhari will come back and devalue Naira. [/s] To thunder is not to rain: continue dreaming....... |

eleojo23: [s]Hello, quit throwing tantrums on this thread, nobody is fighting with you. People are obviously worried (and a lot are angry at the current situation), that's why they are airing their opinion. There is no need for all these back and forth comparison between GEJ and Buhari. It doesn't change anything.
What we are saying is that having repeated episodes of fuel scarcity doesn't speak well of this govt and something should be done about that. [/s] A right-thinking citizen who is well-informed knows that the government is on the right track despite the current hardship: it is an hurdle that needs to be crossed to enhance greater efficiency which is the resultant effect of lack of proper planning by the previous regimes. You don't want comparism, but you deemed it fit to defend the previous administration's inefficiency at the detriment of the current regime. Stop exaggerating the issue on ground as it is not a solution. |

[s] abuchilag: It is certainly obvious that some youths are the problem of Nigeria. How can a sane person be making such baseless argument? Maybe you are not a student of history. The price shot up to N140/litre due to the "sponsored" subsidy protest. Now we know better.
We all agree that we have to pay some price to get things working. However, the price should not apply to the basic things in life. We are no longer asking the government to provide again......make these things available and we will buy with our "hard earned money".
This fuel and power brouhaha is getting too much. I pray that God will direct our leaders. God bless Nigeria. [/s] Rubbish.... |

[s] eleojo23: So GEJ is the yardstick now? I thought APC promised us that there will be no more fuel scarcity? Now you guys are changing tone and saying that it is not as bad as during GEJ's time. For your info, we've had like 3 episodes of fuel scarcity under this govt within the space of just 10 months.
Na wa for APC. [/s] I thought you guys claimed you never bought petrol at such price before under GEJ: that was how an IPOB tout was arguing with me that there was never a day when there was fuel scarcity during GEJ's tenure, but latter kept quiet after giving him about 5 instances. Even if APC promised you CHANGE, it should not be misconstrued for MAGIC. Get your fact right. |

Meet Cynthia, the lady who prays her future husband’s mum (mother-in-law) to die and not reap the fruit of her labour.
Trust Nigerians na, they served her in her own coin.
A piece for this lady:
There have never been a time when marriages are easy but with time people compromise on beliefs for peace to reign so no matter how mean, demonic, vindictive or whatever name you might chose to call mother in-laws it’s no justification for what you just said young lady.
Imagine your own son’s fiancee who is exactly like you, wishing you death...

Rayhutar: It was GEJ that initiated the cleaning project signed by the major oil companies. Shell is going to provide the bulk of the money for the clean up. It is not Buhari led APC government that started the initiative, The commencement of the clean up is from the agreement signed by oil companies under GEJ and led by UN habitat and other environmental agencies, the initiative is dated back to GEJ administration, is a gradual process that will take upto 30 years according UN research. APC should be telling Nigerians the truth instead of scoring cheap political point by brain washing Nigerians. GEJ initiated, that is what you guys keeps saying. He initiated electricity, he initiated railway etc: when will you grow up? Cleaning up of ND has been on the agenda of every government even since the days of military.
If it is a gradual process which will require 30 years to be implemented fully, is that an indication that it must take 100 years before it takes off?
May be because of cluelessness or unguarded corrupt practices under his watch is what I don't know, but be informed that GEJ seeks no approval and implemented nothing as far as cleaning land of ND is concerned.
Don't think this forum is for those who lack deep mental horizon: if you have link or pictures that can show us the journey so far, you can post it here for justification.
Enough of this fictitious argument. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Begins Niger-Delta Oil Spill Cleaning by Ephemmm: 3:05pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
Rayhutar: Devastating oil spills in the Niger delta over the past five decades will cost $1bn to rectify and take up to 30 years to clean up, according to a UN report.
The UN Environment Programme (Unep) has announced that Shell and other oil firms systematically contaminated a 1,000 sq km (386 sq mile) area of Ogoniland, in the Niger delta, with disastrous consequences for human health and wildlife.
Nigerians had "paid a high price" for the economic growth brought by the oil industry, said Unep's executive director.
A leaked summary of Unep's Ogoniland study, the first large-scale scientific study of pollution in the area, has been seen by the Guardian. It calls for a clean-up fund of $1bn (£614m) for spills in Ogoniland, and says it will take 25-30 years to restore the environment. Much of the funding for the clean-up is expected to come from the oil companies. Stop your gullibility,APC is lying to Nigerians, Oil spillage clean up in Niger Delta did start will APC government and will not end with it,Nigerian dont like to learn, they believe whatever their politicians is telling them and they continue to be in darkness Despite the epistle you wrote, you failed to give evidence that cleaning up has started under GEJ: you can provide the link to back up your claim to see where it was approved.
However, who ask you whether it will take up 100 years to complete? Your argument is as fake as GEJ till 2019. |

Pidggin: Hell yesssssss! I wish he'll come back...HE was the epitome of democracy, a man of peace, under him we prospered, we were the fastest growing economy, we didn't experience fuel hike, forex thrived, the Naira had value, foodstuffs were cheap, businesses grew, jobs were surplus, his ministers were technocrats, there were no inconclusive elections, INEC/DSS/EFCC were not influenced by him, he obeyed the rule of law, he was not a bigot, the least is endless . Business grew, Jobs were surplus, but you were unable to achieve one: job-seekers were scammed during immigration exercise.
He obeyed rule of law, but lawyers, judges were beaten inside court room in Ekiti, 5 law-makers removed the Speaker without concurrence from majority: 16 was greater than 19
His ministers were technocrat, but they embezzle gigantic public fund meant for protection of lives and properties: they mis-managed economy to the extent that FG borrowed to pay workers - http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/05/06/fg-borrows-n473bn-to-pay-salaries-okonjo-iweala/
DSS were not influenced by him, but they stormed APC secretariat chatting away computer memories and other relevant data calling it misplaced target
EFCC were not influenced, but they become a toothless bulldog
Naira had value, but it got to over 200 before his exit despite oil boom Only fools would pray that the Otueke man should come back to rule us: Nigerians love him, but Otueke loves him more. |

Therefore, if embezzlement of public fund is stealing, it is logical to conclude that stealing is corruption. Get it right. |
