Is I-invest registered with SEC, are they not backed by Sterling Bank. ALL Fintech are in partnership with an Asset Management company including your I-invest, A simple email to AIICO Capital with clear your doubts, However, if you don't want to invest you can look somewhere else. Thank you
I downloaded I-invest app on the website of Sterling Bank and this was more credible to me. Apart from that, Parthian Partners, the company which Sterling collaborated with are inter-dealer broker on the Securities and Exchange Commission http://sec.gov.ng/cmos/. This was part of my findings before investing.

It might also be imperative to state that yield on Piggyvest platform attracts 12.5% pa while I-invest platform attracts a meagre 3.89% pa. This calls for concern bro, as both companies were operating within the same industry.

So, Can you shed more lights on the outcome of your due diligence findings on Piggyvest? I would be delighted to hear more.
Properties › Re: Can A Salary Of ₦100k Sustain A Decent Apartment In Lagos? by Ephemmm: 11:37am On Mar 09, 2021
gbemishile:
hello nairalanders.

I am thinking of getting a decent self contain partment in lagos that is close to my work place. I am currently employed with a salary scale of about a 100k, and for now I have no alternative source of income except my current job which is a govt job. I am just scared I might not be able to sustain the rent cus I only have my salary to depend on for now, and I will still have some other commitments like family etc.

I was thinking of getting a decent one room, like a face me I slap u, till am able to gather my home furnitures, and also try to develop myself in terms of certifications, or learning some IT skills, then I can move to a decent self contain. The only fear is the last time I lived that life was my University days.

Can a salary of 100k sustain an apartment here in Lagos?

Your comments are highly welcome
Get someone with like mind, and contribute money to get a room self contain.

This would save you a lot of money.

Is only I-invest you know, what about Cowryrise, Kuda, Rise etc, this fintech don't have many marketers and branches so operating cost is low, that's why their interest rates are higher, their Flex is 8% per annum while the fixed in 12% per annum, inflation is 14%, most of them purchased long term bond which they are retailing, The company is managed by 2 first class graduates of Covenant University and they have built 2 successful business before piggyvest, however, you can fix your funds were you deem fit
I referenced I-invest because that was where the N2M investment was coming from. I have been trading on the platform for over 3 years without any ugly experience, but their interest is low at present and that is why I was seeking for better alternative. However, their low interest/yield is understandable in consideration of the current economic mess.

As for Piggyvest, my due diligence has not given me the expected result, as I found no evidence of being registered with SEC and NSE unless they registered under different name.

You can provide better explanation on why Piggyvest yield is greater bro, as no investor would like to trade at loss.

These are previously bought 30yrs bonds which were around 18% being retailed
I disagree with you on this bro.

The yields were better in the yesteryears, and no rational investor would buy bonds around 20% and be retailing them at 12%.

Your point could have been characterized with overall faithfulness assuming the current interest rates are better than what was obtainable in the previous year(s).

Click on 1-2 years savings.

You'd get 12.5% for 366 days agaisnt 10 for 365.

Ridiculous but truth
My concern is that if I-invest, another company operating in the same industry, could only offer around 4% pa, and interest on loan from bank currently is around 3%, which kind of business are Piggyvest owners operating that is giving them such high paying returns?

As for me, I am just being meticulous as there must a balance between the need for capital growth and capital protection.

If any one is guaranteeing you rates that are higher than what is obtainable in the market, it is one of two things. They are either frauds or they are taking your money to invest in high risk transactions and high risk transactions can never be guaranteed so go figure.

Interest rates are low everywhere in the world. Safe Eurobonds are not yielding up to 4%. FGN savings bonds are around 5 to 6% and long term FGN bonds are not yielding more than 10% at the moment. Last auction, 12 month Tbill was around 5.5%. So how is any legit party able to guarantee higher rates? undecided

If you want to preserve your capital and want to put it in safe securities as soon as possible, you better wait for the next Tbill auction and put it there. The rates are expected to be around 5 to 7% for 360 days. Not the best but still better than nothing. Otherwise, there is the FGN savings bond that closes today. Emmanuel shared that document a few days ago. There are also fixed income funds in the market offering decent rates of around 5 to 7%.

However, if that money is play money and you are feeling like taking risks, then sure, put it anywhere and hope for the best.
Thanks bro. Much appreciation.

Hello house,

Please what is the update on the Treasury Bill? I didn't keep tab on same nowadays due to low yield.

However, I have an idle cash in the region of N2m waiting to be invested at present; it is an accumulated investment in treasury bill on I-invest app which just matured today.

Save for 3.39 yield pa yield for 357 days offered by I-Invest, I must confess that I have run short of the best ideas on how to invest this idle fund.

Financial gurus in the house, please come to my aid on this subject matter.

Thank you all.

I think the consideration of the context where the declaration was made is imperative.

He made the declaration when he was accused of receiving regular salaries while the state workers were being owed.

He did nothing wrong by collecting his accumulated salaries at the end of his tenure.

Hello guys I will like to advise us on job change
because I was so frustrated with my recent job, after going for interview with another it took them time to reach back and told me to resign from my current job to process my new job.
After resigning, 3days before I went to the new company I was called that I will be trained for 2yrs which was the second red flag.

The first red flag is that all the top officers of the company were women which I was uncomfortable with.

I got there yesterday to pick up work tool and all I saw was a turn off
1. IT guy asked me to turn on my data to set up the laptop they will give me
2. We will be working from home till Corona clears out. No power (Gen) support, I asked for data and the hr guy said I will reach out to Admin.
3. No pension, hmo, housing scheme, transportation, I was already boiling inside of me
4. He said I am resuming as a contract staff and they will make me full staff at their convenient time. That I just heard that day.
4. I will work one year before I am entitled to leave. I will be under supervision for 2yrs and cannot leave the company within that period
5. Most annoying part is that he said it is a Christian company I nearly slap the guy.

These and many other red flags I saw.

So guys do not resign from your previous job before taking another offer. If the new offer is not good enough turn it down and continue with the old job till a better one comes.
The contract of service(employment letter) sets out the relationship between the potential employee and employer. This, I believe, you have known because this was not your first employment opportunity.

My question is - how did you accept an employment offer without having/knowing the conditions therein? For me, I must have my employment letter readily accepted before making any resignation and I believe that should be the minimum standard.

For me, you have yourself to be blamed.

[s]The same La Liga is the one you hyped so much, the league where 2 teams share over 60% of TV revenue while the remaining teams share the meagre 40% left.
The same La Liga where only 2 teams (R.Madrid & Barca) dominated for years before Diego Siemoni's rejuvenated A.Madrid came on board to act as a 3rd force.
The same La Liga where teams major sources of incomes are majorly from sales of players to overseas clubs...
You may say the pattern of playing differs from the EPL but downplaying the quality of the Premier league against the Law Liga is nothing but absolute ignorance
[/s]

The dominance of Barca and Madrid was not limited to La liga; what justification do you have for ill-performance of EPL clubs? May I also remind you that as Barca and Madrid were dominating CL as at that time, the likes of Sevilla, Atheletico, Bilbao etc were dominating Europa. We even witnessed how the likes of Athletico, Sevilla and other Liga clubs dealt with EPL teams even without financial muscles like EPL team and even won it back to back several times.

When Man U on top of the EPL table as at then, ordinary Celta Vilgo who sat 16th on Liga table beat the team home and away and even sent Man U to Europa leagues for the first time in the new millenium.

See what is happening to Hazard and Dembele in terms of injury now; did you hear any noise? Imagine the kind of noise we could have witnessed by EPL fans if Messi was signed and went on back to back injury like those aforementioned players.

As bad as Barca is at present, only one or two EPL team could withstand them when the chips are down and I can bet my money on that.

Take it or leave it, EPL is just an overrated league with a gift of a highly packaged Media House.

Family › Re: My Sister Want To Expose My Secret Life To My Husband by Ephemmm: 2:34pm On Dec 09, 2020
Jceeee:
Hello everybody ,
I came here to seek for advice because I’m in a big dilemma with my kid sister , I don’t want to bore you with long story I will make the long story short.
I got married in May 2000 I was pregnant with my first child , I had my first child in September that same year then another daughter in 2002 May , and in July 2002 my husband left for abroad ( I won’t mention the country ) .

I had to move out of the renting apartment and went back to my parents house with my 2 children while waiting for him to apply for our documents, it took him 2 years to settle and for 2 year he couldn’t send us money because he had no documents and job.

My parents were supportive until when my husband got his documents and started working , he started sending us money every month and was working hard for me and the kids to join him but things were not working well for us , they keep rejecting us but he didn’t get tired of us , but I started getting tired after 5 years of waiting, missing him badly , no intimacy and I was lonely and very depressed.

I start seeking attention outside and I met with a married man that I had a relationship with, I got pregnant in 2008 the man suggested abortion but I didn’t want to abort because I was scared to die because I remember a cousin that had a husband abroad , she got pregnant and went to abort , she died instantly so I didn’t want to end up like her .

I had planned with my sister and mum that I should leave our state to another state ( I won’t mention the name ) to go and have my baby then will come back after the baby is 3 months , I and my kid sister left and rented another house in a different state meanwhile we lied to my dad that I had traveled to this country to join my husband in abroad , things was well.

I had my baby another girl in 2009 and we kept the secret for 3 months from my dad and we had to lie to him , it was my kid sister that has given birth to this baby while we were away and my dad got angry at her and he has said a lot of harsh things to her, it was very painful but my sister supported me and didn’t let the secret come out , even to my husband he just knew the baby was my sister , because I was breastfeeding her , we didn’t want to go home yet so we had to stayed here for a year , when I weaned her and we started preparing to go back home, lying to my dad that things didn’t work out and I couldn’t join my husband anymore, we returned back home in 2010 and we had been keeping this secrets from my dad , husband and other people .

Finally God has been great that I had to joined my husband in 2013 after 11 years of waiting , it was a wonderful time to be with him again , my kid sister got married in 2014 she had a daughter with her husband before marriage born in 2012, so the husband accepted her with my daughter that she pretend to be hers , she went to her husband house , leaving my kids with our parents , she only took the daughter she had with her husband and I used to send them money as usual until in 2015 my 2 daughters I had with my husband joined us abroad and my other daughter stayed behind , I had to convinced my husband that my sister baby should join us too which he was okay and grateful to my sister because she had been the one taking care of our children in my absent so we started applying for documents for the girl, but they kept rejecting it but we didn’t give up, at that same time my sister has also wanted her biological daughter to be included in but I was frank with her that we couldn’t add her daughter because the daughter that I had is known to be hers so if we had another daughter it would be wrong , so this has caused a lot of problems between my sister and I that she called me an ingrate after everything she has been doing to me , but I was never ungrateful to her because I take care of her daughter school fees in a best private school but I just couldn’t take her abroad with us but she is adamant that her daughter should be here too.

Luckily my daughter which to my husband is my niece has joined us this January 2020 , she knows me as her auntie and my sister her mummy , She is doing well my family is complete , I have also had 2 more children with my husband two cute boys but my sister has been threatening and blackmailing that she would tell my husband everything about my daughter , I had begged even our mum has been begging her not to spoil my marriage but she wouldn’t listen.

I’m scared she would tell my husband and my marriage will be over. I don’t sleep well and anytime when my husband get back from work , my heart beat faster thinking that he has found out about the secrets and I’m no longer in peace. he loves my niece ( daughter ) so much that he doesn’t treat her any different from our 4 children but I’m getting so scared , have been taking blood pressure medication because of my sister threatening me.

Please I know a lot of you would insult me because I deserve it but all I need is advice from you .

please if you could offer me some , I just don’t know what else to do
Dear Madam,

The truth is that you will never have peace until you confess the matter to your husband. As the 'axiom goes in Yoruba parlance, "when a bird perches on a rope, the rope would not experience peace while the bird will never be comfortable''

So, for how long will you continue to keep this matter secret from your husband? Remember, that no matter how far a lie have travelled, the truth would overtake it in a day.

Tell your husband, and be set free; he won't kill you.

I came out from a crazy relationship and I don't want to experience something like that anymore. I don't want issues all the time.

The funny thing happening at the moment is that am "tryin to"(still at the process) date my ex's high school mate. The way our part crossed again was just ironic.
