Politics › Re: The Untold Story Of PDP’s Coup Behind Saraki’s Senate Presidency - The Nation by Ephemmm: 7:35pm On Jun 11, 2015

You won't make a good strategist if you think PDP could have made a president..

The wave is against them, I think this is the best they could get for now... Mind you Saraki is still an APC member.

See it this way.. If PDP succeeded as you were thinking they will be easily targeted for impeachment later on.

Atleast they can play cloak and dagger type of shit.. Do you think APC will have the stomach to impeach Saraki, their own?
If they can support Saraki who is a member of another party, why can't they support a PDP member? So if a PDP member is appointed, the wave is not against APC? Saraki is an APC member, are his members still not heading to court?

Anything is possible in politics: PDP has chance to become a Senate President, but they misused it. Period!

Of course that would have backfired since the main thing PDP wanted to achieve was to sow a seed of discord into APC by having one of their own go ahead to win the SP against the party's wishes. So political greenhorn or neophyte, which one are u?
If PDP member emerge as Senate President, nothing would backfire than to proceed to court: PDP played a smart game, but they need to be smarter.

Honestly, I don't want mark as SP. It is not his Chieftaincy title. However, should the PDP elect to have their own occupy the office, the APC present may cause a rowdy session so as to disrupt the process for rescheduling. Should that happen, the Saraki group will be forced to concede to Lawan's group so as to tame the PDP in the rescheduled election. But with this arrangement, the PDP not only have the DSP but are also in control of the Senate
Both parties were on ground for God's sake: quorum has also been formed. They are supposed to speed up the action, nothing could have happened than going to court to seek redress. My opinion though!

cheesy cheesy
PDP was a looser as compared to Tinubu in my own opinion: they blew away the golden opportunity given to them free of charge. For God's sake, why can't PDP nominate a PDP member as the Senate President when it is obvious that you have majority and quorum has been formed?

Somebody like David Mark could have become Senate President again with ease. Instead, PDP resulted to vote for the minority in the chamber. This could have been another landslide achievement in the history so far, honestly.

There was no gang-up against the SW. How can that be when the PDP supported the SW to the seat of Deputy Speaker even when pro-Tinubu group were against it?

In 2011 the PdP presented Mulikat from Oyo as Speaker but the APC went for Tambawal from the NW. Didn't they betray their sister for the sake of BAT? Now they also betrayed Yusuf from Osun state but God was with him.

Tinubu is not SW "personified", he's from SW. His interest isn't synonymous with SW interests. APC was beaten to their own game by the PDP, they should live with it.

The nation should stop this propaganda
Well said! But PDP was the real looser in my own opinion. With only 6-7 APC members in the chamber, don't you think we could have had Mark or other PDP senator as the Senate President again?

PDP needs to be smarter, honestly.

This is becoming too much and too frequent. While drug trafficking is not exclusively igbos but stat shows they constitute over 90%. Something must b done. I hope igbos will consider it a problem and be truthful to themselves for once
Don't be surprised, majority of those you see selling gadget, motor parts in Alaba and co are notorious robbers and drug trafficker. They resulted into the business to ensure that they are hidden under the cover of a particular business.

They will soon be here blaming Yoruba and Hausas for their misfortune as usual: their penchant for money has no equal.

So why is this news? the DSS reserves the right to deploy and redeploy its personnel as it sees fit.
That 'Anonymous source' should be sacked, he obviously lacks the basic requirement for serving in the DSS and it is just as well that he has been turned back because that is how he would keep leaking highly confidential stories involving the President to the newspapers.
80% of Nigerian news is revealed by anonymous: useless journalism.

Do the APC folks have option(s)?
Election of Saraki was not done in the night and the required number to form quorum is 36 and the senators present were more than 50 yet APC cannot accept that simple defeat.

If you think accepting defeat is, go and ask Buhari.
PDP was the greatest looser for your information. Since the quorum has been formed, why can't they all vote for Mark instead of Saraki? But their common sense were not deep to that extent.

Shame!

Politics › Re: Buhari In Love With Fashola by Ephemmm: 6:12pm On Jun 10, 2015
Flets:
Maybe someone needs to remind me of the highlights of Fashola's excellent performance in office.

Now lets leave Propaganda aside..... I need someone to outline 3 key things fashola did that points to ingenuity

Lagos state has the highest IGR in the country yet resposnible for over 40% of total national local debts
For a state that generates over 40 billion naira monthly from IGR and allocations, Where are the capital intensive projects embarked upon by Fashola's admininstration?
Lagos state is already a commercial hub before Fashola became governor.... how did Fashola improve the commercial attractivesness of lagos?...
What policies aimed at attracted investors was put in place by Fashola?
What jobs were created by Fashola's govt (dont mention Lastma) and how did his govt support the middle class or SMEs?
Fashola fixed roads and planted flowers, so did Sullivan Chime of Enugu, Akpabio of Akwaibom, Kwankwaso of Kano, Peter Obi of Anambra.... etc; what makes him stand out?
Increasing tax rates and imposing levies on okada riders, shop owners etc is no ingenuity for raising IGR.... What exactly did he do?
Does deporting Nigerians in Nigeria and dumping them under a bridge in the wee hours of the morning sound like an act of a sound mind?

As a matter of fact, people like Fashola should not be allowed anywhere close to this current govt. Fashola's understanding of governance only support the elites which is averse to the touted Buhari's govt for the masses.
Fixing an existing road and tolling it is the height of insensitivity..... and the first in Nigeria by a state government. Imagine if every state government follows the Fashola template by tolling roads built using tax payer's money or allocation accruing to a state.... we would have about 25 tolls in akwa-ibom, 20 in enugu, 23 in anambra....etc.

Fashola and Amaechi led the governors to demand and share the Soverign wealth fund which led to crash of our economy
Fashola filed a suit against signing the Freedom of Information Bill in Lagos state

Unfortunately, we Nigerians hardly reason beyond our noses... and that is why propaganda sells

Fashola looked like a performer because he took over from a a failed Tinubu under whom Lagos collapsed.

Fashola is an average politician and not even near a technocrat.
Until you tell me one thing Jonathan did that Fashola didn't do, I reserve my comment.

But like I have said elsewhere....the policy of having too many captains in the APC may come back to haunt them.
Why hunting if I may ask? Is the positions their fathers' inheritance. This is the beauty of democracy joor. I pray the will of God come to pass in the interest of all Nigerians.
