breezy047: God himself said it in Exo 33 vs 4-6
"If I were to go with you even for a moment, I might destroy you. Now take off your. . ." that statement was made after they had made a golden image for themselves with the gold jewelry they wore! So, it is what they did with the jewelry that got God angry. breezy047: The story is about when Moses was with the Lord on the mountain and the people (God's own people) made a golden calf with their golds, worshipped it, wore jewellries (which they originally didn't wear)and committed revellry before the idol.
God bless you. Well, there was a Chapter 32 b4 33, brother. The children of Israel wore jewelry b4 they got to mount Sinai. They removed and gathered them to make the image. |

the only problem I have with these 'visioners' is that they are often incoherent in their messages and even thought. God is not an author of confusion - His messages are clear, not fraught with the kind of things I hear these people say? By the way, why is it often unsaved people who see these visions? Is it possible to know the mind of God without a relationship with Him? How come they just feed us with a conclusion, even when it is pretty clear they never had a relationship with God before their supposed encounters? If you are unspiritual, there's no way you can know spiritual things! Talk more of being an authority on what should or shouldn't be!
I guess this is just one of the future 'general overseers' to come - that's usually how they start! |

Arewa Warrior: ASUU wants 92B from FG in what they call allowances. The Min of Education's budget is around 426BN this year in which i stand to be corrected only about 50B or 60B is for capital expenditure, the rest is recurrent, and ASUU are the chief benefactors of the ministry's recurrent expenditure. The Govt cannot be totally exonerated BUT! ASUU demends are not only unreasonable but absurd! My young man and others, I chose your comment because you seem to be one of the few who has somewhat of a grip on what is happening. However, I want to let you know that ASUU or any other union for that matter does not just wake up and make demands (N92B in this case). Often times, these demands or amounts are accumulated monies owed them by the FG. While at UNN, between 1999 and 2004 (extra years due to strike), I experienced about six strike actions! All due to the same issues as today. The FG is not clearing these arrears and so they keep piling up! Don't be surprised if you hear that part of those allowances are from even before my days on campus. As for ASUU, I think they need to figure out other ways to get what is due to them without necessarily interrupting academic work on campus. After all, after the student suffer and they get paid, they don't give you a dime. |

Christianity Etc › Re: The Dangers Of Wilful Sins by eprynce(m): 6:26am On Jun 24, 2013 |
oludyke: The Dangers of Wilful Sins
We have often heard believers back their sinful lifestyles with statements like “His mercies endure forever”; “we are not under law but grace”; God is love and will always forgive” etc. Those who make such statements are oblivious of the God they are dealing with. The God of the Bible hates it when we sin wilfully or presumptuously. Wilful or presumptuous sins are great transgressions that involve despising God and His Word, and could lead to the loss of a place in His heavenly kingdom.
1. In the Old Testament, we read in Numbers 15:30-31 that God distinguishes between unintentional sins and wilful (intentional, presumptuous) sins. While unintentional sins require atonement, deliberate and defiant sins separated a person from God’s people and the redemption provided for them. We see God in verses 32 to 36 of Numbers 15, commanding Moses that the man caught gathering wood on the Sabbath day be stoned to death. God commanded this because the man committed a deliberate sin by defying God’s law against working on the Sabbath.
2. In 2 Sam 11, David committed deliberate sins of adultery, cold-blooded murder and subsequent cover-up. All these were exceptional evil in God’s sight. As a shepherd in God’s house, these sins became greater. Deliberate, repeated sinning had dulled David’s sensitivity to God’s laws and the right of others. Brethren, the more we sin, cover or make excuses for it, the more insensitive and hardened we become toward it. We must become hardened to sins. We must confess them and take a decision through the grace of God to forsake them. Any sin we deliberately allow and fail to deal with or kill can kill and remove us from God’s heavenly kingdom (may that not be our portion in Jesus’ name, Amen).
3. In 2 Samuel 12:13-14, we see God putting away David’s sin that is, forgiving him by taking away the death penalty and eternal punishment, thus restoring David to salvation and fellowship with Him (Psalm 51). In spite of this, his reputation was forever blemished and the effects of his sin continued throughout the remainder and family history. The consequences of David’s sin were irreversible. Sometimes an apology isn’t enough. When God forgives us and restores our relationship with Him, He doesn’t eliminate all the consequences of our wrongdoing.
4. David’s experiences after he was forgiven and restored is a sober lesson for those who casually treat sin as something that God simply forgives and forgets.
5. In 1 John 3:15, John the beloved wrote that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him or her. Murder which includes anger and hatred (Mt 5:21-22; 1 John 3:15) and other sins such as bitterness, jealousy, unforgiveness, sexual immorality or impurity, abandonment of one’s family, leading others to sin, cruelty etc are deliberate sins that lead to spiritual death. These abominable sins manifest utter rejection of honour toward God and loving care for others. Thus anyone who says “I have fellowship with Jesus Christ; I’m indwelt by the Holy Spirit and in a relationship with God,” yet participates in the above and other sins, is deceiving himself or herself and “is a liar, and the truth is not in him or her” (1 John 1:6; 2:4; 3:7- .
Conclusion In sinning wilfully against God we despise the commandments of God, we treat Him contemptuously and make Him of little account. In committing these sins, we are saying to God that He is unworthy of our love and devotion. Ministers of God and other believers who commit sin presumptuously reflect their estimate of God and His holy Word. They treat the gospel and the blood of Christ contemptuously as if they are petty and unworthy fidelity.
If we say we are true born-again believers, we cannot make sin our lifestyle because of the eternal life of Christ abiding in us. 1 John 3:9 tells us that no one who is born of God will continue to sin or practice sin or keep sinning. John emphasises that those truly born of God cannot make sin their way of life, because the life of God cannot exist those who make a practice or habit of sin. Believers may occasionally lapse from God’s high standard, but they will not continue in sin deliberately as a lifestyle. That which keeps the faithful from sinning deliberately and habitually is God’s seed in them.
I beseech you to repent and forsake your sins so that you enjoy a time of refreshing with the Lord. Have your totally surrendered unto God and make Him your Saviour.
Take the following steps of faith in order to be saved and receive strength to serve Him. A – Admit that you are a sinner (Rom 3:23) B – Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is able to save you from your sins and sins’ problems (Mathew 1:21) C – Confess your sins and invite the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour (Romans 10:9-10) D – Depart from doing evil and live a righteous life in Christ Jesus (Titus 2:11-14)

Wizeboy: Make sure you look at the jewelries you want to order from aliexpress very well before going into it, because:
Firstly, most of their pendants and earrings are always too small and look childish. If you are to buy jewelry set make sure, if possible look for the ones they show you the measurement of the pendants (so that you too can take your ruler with pencil to draw such measurement on paper to see how big it is). Those big pendants and earrings you see there are just photo zooming (this is based on my experience).
Secondly, most of the gold-plated jewelries from aliexpress are too bright which made people to believe that it will wash too quickly, thereby having doubt about the product.
Thirdly, make sure if you are going for gold-plate jewelry sets, look for the one within the price range of $3 to $4 because they wouldnt buy it more than (N1,000 to N1,500) from you in Nigeria. If you go for the jewelry sets of $8 or $10 dont be surprise they will still be pricing it within that range (1k to 1.5k) because jewelry sets in the Nigeria markets are now been sold at that price.
If you are to go for jewelries, I will advice you to order PENDANTS AND EARRINGS as those ones normally comes in bigger sizes and they sell well than jewelry sets. And don't tell people you import from China because even if its quality, they will price it the way you didnt like (they believe China products are fake and also cheap).
Finally, do your market survey well before going into it (don't just go into it because everybody is doing it), so that you wouldnt get your finger burnt.
That is what I have discover so far, since I started the jewelry business. I wish you success in the business. You read my mind, man. I'm venturing into jewelries too...thanks a lot... meanwhile, what have you been doing about the expensive shipping cost? Do you buy yourself or through agents like Chrisvicmall? Man, remember this R. Kelly's song? 'When a woman's fed up, there's nothing you can do about it' well, don't fret. It's not gotten to that point yet - but close though! No, am not an alarmist! Truth is that I know her type. She loves you with all her heart (you know this) and would do anything just to please you. She has the utmost respect for you (though you may not know it). But she expects appreciation even when she fell short of your expectations of her. In fact, her shortcomings are never intended and are only a result of her almost childish love for you. She is indeed a good woman, but like every good thing, she's got other sides too. She hits back at you only because the man she so loves and respect talked her down, it's almost unbearable for her. She may take such from another person but not from you. It's the irony of love! As for you, man, you love your wife and can't even imagine a life without her. You want her to be the best. You know it's all slipping away and you want everything back to how it used to be. But you don't know how to begin. I bet you were jolted by that mail - that's why you ran here Well, good thing is that you and only you can make your marriage work again. How? You must as a matter of urgency forget about yourself for a moment. Leave that ego thing somewhere first. Feign regret if you must (but genuine id better). Then go to her and ask for a chance to discuss with her alone. She may push you away, persist ( she just wants to be sure you are serious). once she gives the chance, it's your first sign that there is a way out of the quagmire. Now, immediately resolve in your mind that you will let her pour out her heart with you listening hard and carefully. Do not interrupt her for any reason - only answer questions at her instance and remorsefully too! (Remember, the aim is to make up). Once she's done, accept everything and let her know you want things back to when it was all sunshine. Don't try to counter anything she has said or even accused you wrongly of. These tactics will ring changes in her mind and she will begin to feel sorry for her actions as well. Tell her you are letting go of any hard feeling towards her, reassure her of your love for her. Show this by your deeds. She will eventually begin to reassure herself. The two of you are now somewhat on the same frequency, make sure to maintain it for the longest possible time...You will be surprised how you will realize how much you two have drifted apart...and will never want that again! Of cos, all I have said is based on the premise that you two want it to work! And yes, forget that chauvinistic thing! It only breeds resentment in your wife! Finally, know that wisdom is the principal thing... |
Politics › Re: Why Are Nigerians In Diaspora So Bitter? by eprynce(m): 9:32pm On Oct 06, 2012 |
thelastPope: I am really getting irritated by many Nigerians in diaspora. They seem bent on seeing Nigeria and Nigerians go down. They come here and all over other Internet sites spewing garbage about Nigeria. They will put down anything positive about Nigeria. It seems they are suffering from gross bitterness.
There is no denying the fact that Nigeria has many issues but we cannot solve it by hating ourselves with so much raw hate and talking nonsense all the time. There is a time to critisize. For example, I like to criticize our excesses on materialism as a people which leads us to many unwanted stuff like corruption and crime. But insulting the nation and saying we will never make it and making us look so pathetic to the rest of the world is just too bad! We have our dignity and pride and we will never sacrifice that on any alter of self defeat and hopelessness.
If these bitter diaspora folks can't see anything good about Nigeria and Nigerians, I wonder why they even bother to post on Nigerian forums. They should carry their crap somewhere else. They forget that they are part of those who have failed Nigeria because they have not made any meaningful contribution to Nigerian growth.
Some of us travel out of the country and know how many of these folks live in Europe and even the US. In spain, Italy and Greece, many of them beg on the streets. In the UK, I don't even want to start. They haul themselves, sometimes as much as 15 in a 2 room apartment! Yet they talk nonsense here on NL because they can afford cheap Tmobile internet connection.
We have no other country but Nigeria. We must stand up and build it. Yes, it is a long road but it is a journey worth taking! Our families and friends live here. The question we must ask ourselves today is how can we make it better?
Apologies/acknowledgement to the many Nigerians in diaspora who do not fall into this category. Your patriotic contribution is a blessing to some of us! Well, I should like to know when calling a spade a spade means bitterness? It's one of the many reasons we are where we are, we never want to tell ourselves the truth as a nation! Our leaders play down all our problems but they keep staring us in the face regularly...we've got to keep hammering on the issues before us...they cannot be wished away, we must talk about them and confront them head-on starting with truth about Nigeria. Ever heard of the saying that "conscience is a wound, only truth can heal it!" |
