theoldpretender: Well, admittedly Bubu has not done well....but when oil prcies crashed from $75 in May 2015 to $30 in Jan 2016, and only just got up to $70 ithis year....one would have expected economic hardship.
We went through this in 1983-2003. Oil crashed ,and our economy went downhill till oil rose again.
Whoever won,I was expecting hardship. That is what happens when your economy is reliant on one stream of income.
There is one way out of this mess, and that involves ending subsides, spending much more on power and transport infrastructure, and fighting corruption apolitically. Which neither PDP or APC or Nigerians are prepared to do.
APC might be bad,but let's not pretend PDP would have done better if they won. Infact, we would have had the same outcome,so long as we keep on depending on just one revenue stream...and an unstable one at that. DO YOU KNOW THE COST OF oIL NOW? DO YOU KNOW THE VOLUME OF OIL EXPORTED NOW? |

modernWays: Name other politicians that have been openly indicted for directly keeping, arming and financing thugs turned robbers?
To make matter worse, they did not only robbed a whole financial institution but wasted over 30 innocent souls, creates panic and civil unrest. Are you serious, ?? the question should be name one Politicians who has no Thug, ALL Politicians have Thug even councillors have thugs on their pay list. No need getting sentimental, my coz is a Politician he has thugs he pays for protection and other duties. During the time of the past Gov of delta state, he had loads of thugs, his name is even in the Number plate these thugs drive. If U ask anyone in Sapele you would know about it, one of this thug actually killed a person and went to Jail. Look there is no denying the fact that all Politicians have thugs whom they call Body guards. The Ekiti State Governor has robust thugs round him, and the Rivers State Governor has robust thugs round him, infact one of them got killed not to long ago after the church massacre.SO are you trying to say in all Honesty your own state LGA chairman and Senate representing you do not have thugs on their pay list? The Only part I will agree with you is ok these ones got caught and are naming their Boss, main while it is worthy to note, that the thief caught is the one we know, the ones at large are not known. But the fact remains this is the method operando of these politicians hence youths ought to be wise cos they are being used. |

weyreypey: Again, the Fulanis (Muslims) were painted as killers while Benue militias (Christians) who rustle Fulani cattles and slaughter their wives and children were not featured. This is grossly unfair. Falz should find a way of balancing his video. The kidnappers of the South East (also Christians) were spared while the oil saboteurs of the Niger Delta (Christians too) were ignored. Falz video is loaded with Islamophobia. That video should be titled ‘This is not Nigeria’. It is Islam-bashing. Nigeria’s video regulatory agency should therefore ban the video or ask the artist to edit it properly.
Like seriously? This guy is far more insane than I imagined so in ur view o nce you are not a Muslim you must be a christian right? what happened to Pegans and Juju worshipers? U made mention of Niger Delta Militants, ,did you not see pictures of them with red juju clothes on thier guns and thier Body? do christians use such?, its people with thought like urs who carry out them senseless kilings in the name of religion wheras the true muslims seek peace. |

MrBrownJay1: of course! any adult person files/pay a yearly tax (called "les impots" , on top of the monthly taxes that are deducted from your salary..... each year you will have to file your taxes and let the government know about any other source of income/donation or whatever you may have acquired during the year. you also let them know about whatever deduction that you deserve, and depending on how much you acquired, the "mob" will let you know how much you have to give them back (aka their share) or how much they should pay you back. Oh boy thank God I dey mama Charlie country me I nor fit, well we don't do that here, only Self employed people file tax returns and its to claim back your expenses. Now I see why you call them the *Mob* |

claremont: I don't understand what you mean by ''high taxes''. In the UK, we get taxed a basic rate of 20% on income up to £46,000/year. A 40% tax rate is applied to any income above £46,000 but below £150,000. If I earned £150,000 per year, I would be very happy to pay 40% tax on it, it still leaves me with a net income of £90,000 before national insurance is deducted. We don't mind paying high taxes in the diaspora because we see what the money is used for. We enjoy free healthcare, education up to university level is funded by the government, a social infrastructure is in place to take care of the most vulnerable etc, and all these are financed through taxes. So, I don't understand why you keep on going on and on about taxes, we pay tax and we enjoy what the tax is used to finance. Bross U cant be taxed 20% unless you do not have a tax code, That basic 20% is for people who's tax code have not be determined, its also called Emergency tax code. this is used for people in new employment or new entrant into the labour market! My tax code allows me to have the first £11k tax free. |

MrBrownJay1: the UK must have a better system then, in France that 25K will be taxable, and if you dare not file it on your tax return at the end of the year, you can get in trouble. yes there are many ways to go about trying to dodge paying the "mob", but these are all illegal ways... like having an undeclared offshore account OR set up an offshore shell company can I ask you something, do working people file in a tax return in France? I'm not talking of people who own their own biz or self employed, Im talking people who are in employment !cos we do not do that here. You have a P60 at the end of each year sent to you by HMRC, that outlines how much tax you have paid that's it.Wen U leave that employment you get a P45 sent to your new employer. If your new Employer fails to arrange ur correct tax code in time you are charged BR (basic Rate) @ 20% until you are sorted. I had £950 returned to me one time cos of BR |

EMMAACHILE: Meaning your income is lower than £33500 per annum. you see that tax rate of 20% is called basic BT, this is what the HMRC uses when they have or could not determine your tax code, once your tax code is prescribed you get all the over tax money back, the reason you saw 20% is for the simple fact that everyone gets paid via their tax code and we all have different tax code so its extremely difficult to put a single % as deduction, hope this is better and clearer. Bross the Police force get paid average of £29k a year. I am not going to give you a bracket to what I earn cos its of no importance but I dare say £33500 is Ok, people get mortgages for £25k jobs as we speak! Do not forget the Pound£ has weight. |

I won't teach you sha, bye. Stop Assuming, and embarrassing yourself, your PAYE is not taxed basic its taxed according to your Tax code, everyone's tax code is different, we may earn same but pay different tax, your tax code gives or specify the amount of taxfree Income you have.Plz stop embarrassing yourself, even this information is on Line and you was boasting that any Foool can dig up info but U was not clever enough to even dig up the simplest of info TAXCODE.Stop trying to be inclusive, there is no harm in saying I don't know dnt even know how embarrassing U sound! |

MrBrownJay1: you give the money in cash to your kids but then when they deposit the money in the bank, they A) have to declare it to the "mob" (aka the taxman) at the end of the year, if not you can get in trouble B) the "mob" would already know about it as the banks usually give the tax man (and even the police) a call if you deposit more than 10K in your account C) yes it is allowed to have savings but you have to show where the money comes from, so if you receive your salary and take some aside, thats ok, but if 100K lands in your account in cash, bro the cops/mob will have a file with your name on it, lol! if it was that easy, all them criminals would easily launder their dirty money. Nop, you do not need to as far as they work plus do not forget we are foreigners so we have that advantage over the English People, why do you think the Jewish people own almost all the houses in North London and the Indians have the west? I for like go in details but nah public forum we dey like this average deposit in London is £25k, this is correct as of this Monday, I was at my bank. |
