DSDLIVEREPORT:
This gov Akeredolu is insolent undermining the authority of the president with his statement and insulting his benefactor Asiwaju..
The man lacks basic diplomatic skill to be a leader.
For me Nigeria has no party neither Democrats as well .APC us not even what they claim
how is tinubu his benefactor, tinubu never supported him to be governor.

I am not supporting Tinubu in anyway, but honestly Akeredolu needs to be ashamed of himself if he said all of this.

If a SAN and top lawyer in our country can be talking so undemocratically and totalitarian all because he is now a governor at the helm of affairs... then this country is really doomed! How can he spit on local government autonomy like this, a lawyer for goodness sake!!
it is not a question of being San or not, it is what the law says. are u aware that the present constitution places the LGA under the star house of assembly? are u aware that the state govt is given so much constitutional power over the LGA , until those laws are changed no LG autonomy.

Even when it was obvious that all is not well with APC in ondo the fake governor claimed all is well with them, because he is in charge. Where is ajayi borofice and Abraham?are they comfortable with the way you run the party? undecided tinubu is coming and there is nothing you can do about that.
so who will tinubu now reconcile, when one of the key party leader says he should not come. take it or leave it in present day Nigeria the party structure in a state revolves round the governor

They have SOME power and influence as ANY representative of the people whether elected or nominated would but not to be confused with that wielded by an Oba for instance,it's mostly ceremonial in nature..
Cardinaly, the Igbo is a King unto himself (Igbo amaghị Eze),simply means the Igbo knows no King..it's a central philosophy in the Igbo man's republican nature..
yea I am aware of the acephalous nature of Igbo society but only baffled by the power of the the so called traditional ruler who were mere appointees of the colonial master in such a society.

Tinubu trying so hard to put the APC back into his kitty. grin He doesn't know even the dullard and his men don't trust him to allow that move!

Guess he skipped history lessons cos history always finds a way to repeat itself.

Now with these whole happenings, wouldn't it be safe and fair to say Tinubu has been demystified? Wouldn't it be fair to say Tinubu only knows south west politics and he was over rated in 2015? Wouldn't it be fair to say he only gained traction in 2015 due to the series of events that played out then and a very powerful and mostly biased media backing him? I think I would be right in the assertions above!

Tinubu should stick to local politics... National politics ain't his thing (he already helped enthrone a failure and now keeping the failing dullard on the Rock is the only thing still keeping him politically relevant). Then, He should also quit whining around like a Lil Bia.tch; power is taken not given so he shouldn't ever think Oyegun and his goons are just gonna roll over and hand him power and their structures just because he's called jagajaga jagaban. He has been trashed and he should take his thrashing in good fate
even in the sw he has been demystified, except only in Lagos. the likes of saraki and co are waiting to teach him politics 101.

He should ask the British why did they use indirect rule on Igbo instead of direct rule like others.
are u really this ignorant? where did the British use direct rule on others, as a matter of fact it was because of the success of indirect rule in other places that it was introduced in the east, and by the way most of those ur traditional rulers u reverse in the east were mere artificial creations by the British to facilitate indirect rule.

Sometimes these Tivs talk foolishly.

How did they arrive at the conclusion that the Igbos won't have been able to stop the Jihad at their border.?

Why do the Tivs think that they are stronger than the Igbos.?

Do they know how long we resisted the British.?

Igbos are the only ethnic group to resist the British for more than 22 years in several warfare including Ekumeku and Aro Wars against the British.

If we could resist the British for so long despite their use of automatic rifles, how much more the Fulani Terrorists under the leadership of the cow called Usman Dan Fodio.
are u a student of history or u are talking out of sentiments? it would have been difficult for the Igbo's to defeat the jihadists because they were not a united kingdom. they were largely made up of independent villages and clans which the jihadists would have taken piece by piece.

TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Naija Craze: Why Nigerian Youths Are Too Young To Run - Osayimwen by ernieboy(m): 3:40pm On Feb 20, 2018
Lyoncrescent:
I disagree with the bolded point. You can say most of the Nigerian Youths you know show more enthusiasm for things that have no bearing on their future. To say most youths as a blanket statement is quite harsh. I agree with you about political participation and i understood that from the write up but most youths i know are barely surviving and from my personal experience in trying to get into politics, there is a cult/diabolical movement in most of the Political Movements i have seen to the extent that i believe its only GOD that can rescue this country.

You raised a very valid point about the illiteracy level in the North. Perhaps if the Federal Government in conjunction with the state government invest heavily in that region rather than spending 200 billion naira on save face programs such as Npower then maybe things can be on a better track.
well I agree that saying "most youths" is bit of a stretch, but a look at most of the social platforms tend to validate this position, but still it will be unjust to lump all most youths into this category. I strongly agree with u on the " cult like nature" of Nigerian politics, like I said earlier there are several points which the writer did not take into consideration, especially from the perspective of youths. having said this I don't think we can afford to stand back and use these factors as excuses let's do the much we can, at least let us collect our PVCs, that's a start.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Naija Craze: Why Nigerian Youths Are Too Young To Run - Osayimwen by ernieboy(m): 6:17am On Feb 20, 2018
Lyoncrescent:
I am not a big fan of Big Brother but i find it tragic that one can be described as not making effort to make Nigeria better simply because you watch big brother. There is the rule and the exception. In my personal opinion, i know only very few youths who keep their eye off the ball. Almost every one i know has a job and at least one side hustle employing at least one other person. Its amazing that the writer could compare the age of awo and military dictators as a justification of youths of nowadays doing nothing. Awo and the dictators inherited a much better country and gave us youths a sh@thole country. My father fresh from secondary school was able to get a job as a clerk at UAC n the 70s. Same position today will probably require a master degree. We youths are barely surviving yet they want us to fix what the older generation messed up and are still messing up. If you can make ends meet and meet up your hustle while being law abiding, then continue to watch big brother as much as u want.

If you are a youth, you have three options:

DO nothing

relocate out of Nigeria or at least ensure you give birth to your children in the USA or Canada

Do the little you can. Touch your community and have impact. You dont have to be in government yet to touch lives. Hopefully your impact gets noticed then u can find yourself in a position of service and grow from there. And please get your PVC

Believe it or not, politics in Nigeria is Diabolical to an extent and if you dont have the mind or not on sound footing, then forget it.
the write is talking about political participation by youth( especially from the south), not about our personal efforts at succeeding individually. the point to take away is that most Nigerian youths show more enthusiasm for things that have no bearing on their future e.g. bbnaija than things that do e.g. politics.

one important point however that the writer did not consider is illiteracy, especially in the northern parts. many of our youths are not capable of making informed decisions because they lack the intellect to analyse the issues and come to an informed decision.

Weren't they the newspaper with multiple publication on why yoruba don't own lagos? to stir up controversy and rivalry btw edo and Yoruba people

Weren't they the newspaper publication happy to deliberately misquote Emir sanusi about how Yorubas are the problems Nigeria? to stir up malice btw hausa/Fulani and the Yorubas in the past

I guess this is there new strategy to attack Yoruba and stir up ethnic sentiments.... it is dead on arrival

As we speak Tinubu is in Zamfara or Kano campaigning for Buhari.

Buhari is a better leader than Tinubu in this regard. As a top SW leader, Tinubu should be seen visiting the Sokoto and Kano with delegation from the SW, finding solutions to the herdsmen attacks on his people in SW...like Buhari did, when he visited Lam Adeshina in Oyo state, to ask that Oyo people should stop killing his Fulani people.
tinubu only has his own personal interest at heart, as long as his interests are met everyone else can go to hell?

If Odigie Oyegun as the Chairman along with his other team members in the Exco have done their jobs effectively, there wouldn't have been any need for a Reconciliation Committee because all issues would have been faced headlong and settled before they get out of hand.

After the election, the Exco went to sleep, no convention was held for almost 3 years and even the BOT didn't hold any meeting for the same period of time and they think there won't be issues.

Even PMB too has not been forthcoming as a leader of the Party. His quietness has dealt a major blow to the psyche of the Party.
is it oyegun that made buhari to sideline most of the party members who worked for him after the elections? was he the one who made buhari ignore the leadership at the various state levels when appointing officers, now that he realizes he will need these people soon he is calling for reconciliation. it is also on record that the CPC faction of the merger are the ones running the country as sidelining all the other parties that made up the merger.

These politicians politicising this must be very stupid, especially FFK. Same for all the people on this thread and every other person out there who has viewed this nonsense only through the eyes of politics.

What has cows roaming into the airport got to do with politics of Buhari? Did cows only start straying into Nigerian cities, airports, roads, stadiums, secretariats etc only after 2015? Is this the sort of daft politics PDP expects to use in getting back to power?
so the fact it was happening b4 makes it OK to happen now, the way some of u reason baffles me sometimes.

This is just rubbish coming out from Fayose and other dignitaries mouths..was it Buhari that owns those cattle or presidency. Why can't the management of the airport get those herdsmen arrested instead of them shouting Buhari? Is Buhari responsible for that too

TravelRe: Cows At Akure Airport Prevent Air Peace From Landing. Fayose, FFK React by ernieboy(m): 9:44pm On Feb 17, 2018
kitaatita:
The herdsmen menace can be addeessed withiut unnecessary ethnic attachments. Before FFK and Fayose blame Buhari for the incident , let's see similar incident in the past captured below;

Plane hits cows on Nigeria runway
An investigation has been launched into the security breach. An investigation has been launched after a plane ran into a herd of cows at Nigeria's Port Harcourt airport, officials say. The Air France plane, with 196 people on board, ploughed into the cows as it touched down at Port Harcourt in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
No-one on board was hurt, but the collision left seven cows dead and the runway was soaked with their blood. Port Harcourt is the centre of Nigeria's huge oil industry. The return flight to Paris was cancelled and the airport was closed for several hours.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4659281.stm
so the fact it happened before means it is OK to happen now? it was wrong then and it is wrong now and those in charge should do something about it.

akeentech:
Good points
oga he did not make any meaningful point, except the no. 4 point, here let me counter them
1.) the media could not have called them killer herdsmen because their identity is unknown, but in the south the identities are known and even the umbrella body (miyetti Allah) often comes out with statements that more or less expresses support for the attack.
2.) how can u say nobody is talking about it when all the major media houses reported on it, what else was he expecting?
3.) if the Fulani herdsmen do not have any ulterior motive why is the president (a Fulani man) trying to foist the idea of cattle colonies on the agrarian south? how come the herdsman rejected the offer by the kano state govt to come to kano state, which according the Governor has enough grazing land to accommodate all of them?
4.) we have seen this several time so this is the only point I agree with,
besides why is the his fellow finding his ability to express himself now that it happened in the north? when it happened in Benue and other places what was his position, why did he not express this same opinion?
