Someone can actually penetrate their security and get rid of 10 of them, if not all of them. Why all the bickering over if Nigeria will win or lose? This is not a question of being patriotic or not. The questions we should be asking is are the Super Eagles prepared? Are they preparing or about to be prepared.
One shouldn't expect a miracle from our bunch of unpatriotic players who don't want to get injured because they want to play for their respective clubs. At the end of the day, the best team always carries the day. I wish them all the best. |

tobiecxs: Eros, frankly you must be a big fool, did you see impact the accident had on the vehicle? Each time I read entries on nairaland I find many ridiculous posts that come from poor thinkers. The chances of survival from neural injuries are far less than 50%, even if per chance they were able to revive him, he probably would remain a slowpoke for the rest of his life. You go on putting blames on the Doctors and Nurses; do you know how much pressure is on them? I live in the UK, and there is an appropriate Doctor to Patient Ratio, the Doctors and Nurses are under-payed and over-worked, they do their best at the same time. Just stop blabbing rubbish you empty head. @ tobiecxs,
I believe tolerance and free speech should be the polity on a public forum like this. The fact that myself and Tudor disagree on DaGrin's accident and eventual death does not make us resort to name-calling. Except you are a 17 year old, then i will take it that you are still very immature to communicate your opinion without passing insults.
I simply aired my view on the death of DaGrin and those i perceived to be responsible. He is partly responsible, the Police, hospital staff, Federal and state Govt. and so many other factors are responsible for his death. But most of us here focus on the hospital staff because they were the last resort of redemption and possible survival of that accident.
Did you get to see pictures of KANYE WEST SUV when he had an accident? He should have died from that accident, but the Doctors and Nurses were able to save him. The point here is, in whatever profession we find ourselves, we should work at it so well, even when we are dead and long gone, people will always remember us for our outstanding work.
Assuming DaGrin made it alive from LUTH, the Doctor that treated him would have being greatly rewarded and recognized, but unfortunately he will never be known. But we all know BEN CARSON, and the other great physicians who have excelled in their line of profession. They went the extra mile, to save a life and put a smile on someone face. There should be no excuses for doing the job you are paid to do, if you feel you are over worked or under payed, then you should quit the job and STOP KILLING PEOPLE. |

I believe in love and would do anything for love, but not at the expense of my life savings. Common man think with your head and not your d.i.c.k. If you can comfortably afford her flight ticket and other expenses whilst she is here, then no big deal. But if you have to blow your life savings, bro forget it. Trust me, it ain't worth it. Health › Re: Da Grin's Mom: The Hospital Killed My Son by eros(m): 12:23am On Jun 11, 2010 |
Evil Brain: Of course, relatives have the right to know whats happening but in reality, doctors are stressed, tired, over-worked, under-paid and frustrated. Most of the time they just can't be bothered to talk to relatives when they could be resting, sleeping or saving another person's life. Imagine if you had been working non-stop for 48 hours and just when things are getting quiet, someone starts pulling your shirt that they want to talk. You'd better ask me very nicely or its not going to happen. Its a very difficult job.
Another problem is that people feel that its o.k. to transfer their frustration to anybody in a white coat. As if you'd still attend to a customer that comes into your office and threatens to kill you. You think your doctor doesn't have a family at home? Who wan die? Yes your wife may be in labour, but tomorrow she will have delivered and you'll be smiling while the poor doctor will be busy dealing with another crisis. This is the reason why people think doctors and nurses are heartless. If you had to watch people cry and panic and bleed and die all day, every day, you'd either find a way to harden your heart or run completely mad. A doctor that can't stay calm under pressure is a dangerous doctor.
Like I said, Its a very difficult job. The problem is that many people are selfish and won't spare a thought for those who are trying to help under difficult conditions. Its easy to assign blame and to demonise health workers. Don't worry sha, we're used to it and we do our best anyway. Doc, i completely agree with all that you have said, but don't you think the hospital system has being structured in a way that Doctors are on shifts. At least this is what is obtainable at most General Hospitals. So the issue of dealing with different crisis, stress, tiredness or being over-worked shouldn't come to play.
You as a Doctor know when to call it a day, because body no be fire wood. And whilst you are having your rest, there are other Doctors attending to patients and making sure everybody is well attended to. That should be the normal thing, but so many Doctors have their own personal businesses to take care of, hence do not have sufficient time to care for patients. You and i know this is true because of the Nigeria factor, in the name of man must wack.
It would be better for some folks not to get into the medical profession, rather than waste lives due to negligence. We could go on and on about this issue, but i will rest my case. God help us all. |
Health › Re: Da Grin's Mom: The Hospital Killed My Son by eros(m): 12:15am On Jun 11, 2010 |
mufasa: This issue has already been overflogged na.
Let me be objective-these are the people and things that caused his death
1. The fans for not buying enough CDs to ensure that he rolls with an entourage driven by a professional chauffeur day and night or even uses Helicopters for his paroles.
2. Nepa for not powering the street lights so he can see where he is driving to
3. The Contractor who supplied the street lights that the bulbs burnt out weeks after they were installed
4. The Barman at the club/party that kept on filling his glass with enough booze to knock out an Elephant
5. The Nigerian govt for not making healthcare a priority by equipping even General Hospitals with CT/MRI/Digital XRay machines, fully functional operating suites and Motivated health care professionals
6. His crew who upon seeing the limitations of the Hospital didnt ponder if they could actually take him to another "5 Star hospital in Lagos" where his live would have been saved but they might have been saved.
7. He himself for buying a used maxima from Yankee. He should have gotten a bulletproof SUV.
8. Himself for drinking too much, he should have just stuck with the chapman.
9. The Nigerian Police for not patrolling the streets. They would have stopped him randomly and giving him the Breathalyzer test and he probably will have been arrested and some points put on his license.
10. The Nurses and Doctors despite their incapacitation and lack of motivation- for not finding time to tell parents and friends that his Prognosis was guarded not because of lack of expertise but due to lack of technology.
11. LUTH for not employing Evil Brain and I, we might have done a burrhole, taken him for an Urgent full body CT and MRI (@ all costs), placed him on NG Tube to decompress his stomach and do other stuff we deem fit
12. His Pastor for not praying hard enough to save him
13.
The point is that i can go on and on
Let the dead rest ok. #ripdagrin
@evilbrain---how far? you don enter lag or still dey enugu? Na pessin wey sabi you oooo back from Circular road when we were Commanding and Conquering (Tiberian Wars) lol. Very funny, yet true analysis of who to blame for Dagrin's death. I somewhat knew him on a personal level and i will mostly blame him for taking a bottle too many and deciding to head home that evil night. One of my friends whom they were together that night had implored him to spend the night with them, but he insisted on going home. I still can't believe he is gone and its very painful when people hide behind a computer and bash a wonderful person like Dagrin.
@ Tudor, i respect the fact that you have the right to your opinion, but please don't say such things about Dagrin if ever you are anywhere near Surulere or Shitta. You might not be so lucky to tell your story. |

Christianity Etc › Re: New Rccg's Tithe Collection Format by eros(m): 11:06pm On Jun 10, 2010 |
nuclearboy: @Tosin/etc (Tosin especially since your posts show sincerity and not a desire for a fight):
Kunle and Ogajim ARE Christians. They only do not just follow without being certain. Tudor is a good chap who has been disappointed too often. He's vexing!
Study of the Bible shows that tithes were meant for the poor, widow, stranger AND levite (because they did no work). In effect, levites got a "portion" of the tithe ONLY because they had no other income. Let me state quickly here that Jesus is the ULTIMATE LEVITE! But he worked and we know He was a carpenter! The Apostle Peter was a fisherman. The Apostle Paul made tents for a living and even used it to boast that he never made his welfare a problem for ANYONE but paid his own way through his own work. If these three worked as the Bible says, please justify why your pastor does not and has to get your tithe!
Secondly, even the "portion" of the tithe that got to the levites was not a weekly/monthly thing. Tithes came the 3rd year. Who were these levites by the way? They were the musicians, singers, cleaners etc of the Temple, not the priests. Do you give "portions" (say 1/4 each) to poor, widows, strangers and the last 1/4 to levites today? And of that last 1/4, how much do you give to your choristers and those who sweep your church etc? Because that is what the Bible says!
Finally AND MOST IMPORTANT, who was God talking to in Malachi? Please do not be blindfolded by any MOGs "stories". They that you call your PRIESTS are the ones God was talking to - Go back and start from Mal 1:6 and you will see God repeatedly says "you, O priests". It is them that God said "showed contempt for Him" Mal 1:6. It is them who place defiled food on His altar (1:7), who bring injured or diseased animals (1:13), who God says He will curse because they have not set their hearts to honor Him (2:1,2), whose lips SHOULD preserve knowledge but who have turned from the way and whose teaching causes many to stumble (2: 8 ). God says "they" flood His altar with tears (2:13). Please TELL ME who could get to God' altar in the OT apart from the Priests? And so it is them He says have wearied Him with their words (2:17). It is LEVITES He will purify and refine (3:3) so that HE will have men who will bring offerings in Righteousness (since it was them who brought sacrifices).
So when God says, "Yet you rob me", why does your MOG suddenly say "yes O, He has been talking ONLY to priests but NOW, it is no longer priests but the rest of Israel i.e. you, that are the thieves"? To counter truth, they say "but God said "the whole Nation of you". True but today, most of my readers are of the Nation of believers, not so? Are you all Ibo or Yoruba or Hausa or even Nigerian? In the same manner, there was a Nation of Levites. It was them God spoke to.
PROOF? A very great test for anyone who wants to know the truth is to ask himself "Who amongst Israel used to (or could) bring food into the Storehouse"? then search the Old Testament for the answer to that question. Could a member of the tribe of Dan bring food into the storehouse? So how come it was him (from that tribe or another aside levites) that God suddenly changed direction and started talking to (when money became concerned) stopping to talk to the levites/priests He had been angry at all along? Then you will know why men like Kunleoshob and Ogajim say what they say - they studied!
My position is this - if you wish to give a ministry 90% of your income, please go ahead. BUT if you do it because you feel you are otherwise robbing God, you have made a gaffe and are wrong. Every single time we see giving in the New Testament, it is a freewill based offering, never legalistic and never under the hammer of fear. Give freely, willingly and out of a sincere heart, not because of the hammer of condemnation GOD BLESS YOU REAL GOOD Nuclearboy. I have really learnt alot from your post. Thank you so much. |
