See the way Buhari FG is disgracing itself on this trial so far.

@Buharists, come and see o. The so called "foreign" accounts that the CJN alledgedly had are just domiciliary account and the so called dollars he has are loans gotten from a bank with his investments in shares and govt bonds as guarantees.

Ok o.....
Even the claim about 55 houses are also false. Instead, the FG's witnesses said the houses are 5 and one was a gift from the government.

What is happening here? The federal government's witnesses are also testifying that the allegations against CJN are false. I am not understanding at all. Are Buhari and APC exposing themselves or what??

Meanwhile, who has the feeling that the CJN would be discharged and would later sit on the case of Atiku vs Buhari at the Supreme court?

Politics / FG Closes Case Against Onnoghen After 3 Witnesses by escodotman: 6:04pm On Mar 21, 2019
The federal government has closed its case against Walter Onnoghen, suspended chief justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The government closed after calling three witnesses to the stand.

At the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Thursday, Aliyu Umar, counsel to the government, announced that they closed the case despite the fact that they had initially listed six witnesses.

Umar said the three other witnesses could still be called to the stand if the defence wants to cross-examine them.

“I have called three witnesses. If the defence needs them, I can call the other three,” the lawyer said.

Responding, Adeboyega Awomolo, counsel to Onnoghen, rejected the offer.

“I don’t want them, I don’t want them,” he said.

Awomolo then informed the tribunal that they intend to file a no-case submission but they would need time to write an address.

“We intend to take advantage of section 303 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015 on no-case submission,” he said.

“If your lordship permits me to write a written address. I’m praying to be given proceedings of 18th and today.”

Thereafter, Danladi Umar, CCT chairman, ordered Awomolo to serve his address on the prosecution on Wednesday.

Umar then fixed March 29 as day counsels would adopt their addresses.

Onnoghen is standing trial on a six-count charge bordering on false asset declaration.

I believe the issue of this 737 Max 8 is partly a factory error, maintenance and pilot technique!

Since some American airlines have refused to remove them from their fleet and are confidence of their "safety and airworthiness", then I guess the previous crashes involving Indonesia, China and now Ethiopia were due to carelessness on the part of the airline servicing crew! QED!!

For your information, the U.S obviously refused to ground the planes because of financial costs. European Union, Australia, United Kingdom, Philippines and many other advanced countries have all grounded the particular plane that has killed hundreds of people within 3months, and you think so far U.S has refused to ground the same aircraft, then the problem is the servicing crew? Are you aware that the MAX 8 is barely 2years old? Are you also aware of the number of people that have been killed with 3-4months? Pilot's error, on the same aircraft, within that short period? I don't think so. I think the fault came from the manufacturer.

First off all I'm not naive about anything LAUTECH, four people from my family are products of that institution, my late Uncle was a Professor and I also worked there for a while so let's cancel your first point.

Now if you look at your argument you'd realise you're creating excuses for Akala and Oyinlola. Before Akala lost the election didn't he have four full years? Before Oyinlola was chased away, didn't he have four full years from his first term ? Was their first term not characterised by ego filled personality clashes? We both no you can't deny these things and it's why they both failed. Aregbe and Ajimobi failed same as Akala and Oyinlola, trying to absolve a pair of any blame because of partisanship is the reason why this country is a mess.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
You are still wrong and anyone who compares our comments would agree that you are the one being partisan here.
First of all, how could you compare a 4year term each of both the PDP governors to a full 8years of both the APC governors? Who made such comparison in the spirit of fairness?
Secondly, what you should ask yourself is that what effort(s) did both set of governors put in place to settle the school's problem? One set of governors (PDP) built a college of health sciences for billions of Naira. The same period also saw a teaching hospital built for billions of Naira. For your information, during the PDP governor's term, the only problem the school always had was ownership. Oyo state felt they have no state university whereas Osun state has their own so Lautech should be left alone for Oyo state. But medical students make use of the teaching hospital and college which was only located at Osogbo in Osun state. This informed Akala to build those teaching hospital and college of health sciences in Ogbomoso so there would no more issue for medical student
Now what happened during the second set of governors' (APC) administration? What the school witnessed was regression, disruption in the flow of academic activities, due to refusal to pay staff salaries, which made the school lose it's position among the best in the country.
You would ask how I know so much? I was part of the medical students at Osogbo campus who were affected when the trouble first started and it caused us many months of academic works. Thank God I've graduated from the school but it is my wish, like any other alumni of Lautech to see all the problems resolved.
This is why I blame the both the APC governors, they came which "change" song and had a full 2term to get things right.
Shalom

See how buhari did what? I know the only thing your kind will accept from US is when they discredit the process and call buhari such name as tyrant. otherwise you will still abuse and call them unprintable names as you did to the first set of observers who gave INEC good ratings.

It's not as if I am ready to give any attention to whatever reports they are writing. After all, no country writes for America whenever they do their own. We can only listen to whatever suggestions they may have, but the whole work depends on us as a country to domesticate what will best suit our dynamics.
What do you mean "see how Buhari did what" ? Can you dispute the role security operatives, especially the Nigerian Army played in these elections? There are videos of how soldiers were giving covers to ballot box snatchers and even snatched ballot boxes themselves and went to INEC's collation centers to prevent collation and announcement of results? What about how soldiers invaded the houses of PDP officials and chased away their families inside the kitchen? How APC politicians went about with soldiers causing mayhem? Is that how U.S conduct their own elections? Have you seen all these?? If you have seen all these and you still made that comment, then it's a shame.

You're right but why are you leaving out Akala and Oyinlola who used the school to fight boxing out of this? Is it because they were PDP Governors or you're too young to remember?
I think you very naïve or you are so ignorant about issues of Lautech. Akala intended to settle the issue of ownership tussle by building a multi-billion naira college of health sciences and teaching hospital and hoped to conclude all the issues before he lost his re-election and Oyinlola was sacked by supreme court to pave way for Aregbesola and Ajimobi who are both APC governors. In other words, if both the PDP governors didn't leave office, Lautech's problem would have been solved a long time ago
The two APC governors came and worsened and destroyed any gain and legacy Lautech had left by refusing to pay staff salaries and settle the ownership tussle.
So what exactly are you talking about?

They should do that urgently and see how Buhari has forced himself and manipulated the whole process, from criminally "suspending" the CJN, to suppressing and disenfranchising voters in PDP strongholds, particularly in the Southern part of the country.

Politics / We’re Compiling Reports On Nigerian Elections – US by escodotman: 6:57am On Mar 13, 2019
The United States says it is compiling reports on the 2019 general elections with a view to giving a proper response on it. The US said it was actively involved with political happenings in the country, particularly regarding the 2019 election. The US Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of African Affairs, Tibor Nagy, said this in a telephone press conference on Tuesday. Nagy said during the build-up to the elections, the US Ambassador, Stuart Symington, and his team took many steps to ensure that things went smoothly. The US official said in the pre-election period, in the election period and currently in the post- election period, they are providing phenomenal guidance to Washington on how the US Government should and should not respond to the election-related matters. He said, “So, just rest assured that the United States of America Embassy and the Consulate in Lagos, are actively involved and are doing an absolutely superb job to monitor events and to provide guides on how Washington should react to whatever the events there are. “As you know, our secretary did make a telephone call.” Prior to the Presidential and National Assembly election, the United States Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, was reported to have placed a call across to the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for a free, fair and credible election in the country while President Donald Trump called Buhari. The US had threatened to place a visa ban on persons involved in electoral violence. READ ALSO: Former reps member arraigned for alleged electoral violence The American Government had said, “We, and other democratic nations, will be paying close attention to actions of individuals who interfere in the democratic process or instigate violence against the civilian population before, during, or after the elections. “We will not hesitate to consider consequences –including visa restrictions – for those found to be responsible for election-related violence.” https://punchng.com/were-compiling-reports-on-nigerian-elections-us/ Lalasticlala

You have the same political mindset as Amaechi. If you know the people of Bauchi state want your party back, why do you wish for "intimidation"and "disruption" in a democratic election? You are afraid your party has been rejected by the people?
If the place is disrupted, then another re-run would be conducted. PDP already won the local government in the cancelled election.

For u guys to think that apc will allow kano to go to pdp shows that u guys are politically naive. That will not happen. See the remaining 126k will be shared like this if u like believe it or not. From 126k votes, they will take like 94k votes from it, apc takes 62k votes leaving 32k for pdp. Adding 32k to 26k gives u 58k to the 62k of apc. Apc wins with 4k margin. Case closed. They will tell pdp to go to court. Bauchi and Sokoto margins are too small and can easily be won by apc. The only state pdp will win in this re run are Benue and Adamawa. Bauchi, Sokoto and Kano are for apc. Plateau is already in the bag for apc. From the above, out of the 6 inconclusive states, apc gets Kano, Bauchi, Sokoto and Plateau while pdp gets Benue and Adamawa. U can argue with ur data.
Wishful thinking. For you to even think in the first place that the whole 126k in Kano would come out to vote means you've not been following elections in Nigeria. Kano has over 5million registered voters and from the results already decided, not even up to 2million voted. That is to tell you that the turn out may not even be up to half of that 126k during the re-run.

Politics / Conclude On The Side Of Democracy, Atikuwarns As INEC Stalls Five Gov Elections by escodotman: 9:11pm On Mar 11, 2019
The presidential candidate of the Peoples
Democratic Party in the 2019 elections, Atiku
Abubakar, says anti-democratic forces are at
work.
He, therefore, called on the Independent
National Electoral Commission to act in defence
of democracy.
Atiku said this as controversies trail the
governorship and state house of Assembly
election in six states.
While INEC stopped the announcement of
election results in Rivers due to the violence
that engulfed the state, the Commission has
also controversially paused the announcement
of the governorship election in Kano State,
where PDP appears to be leading.
INEC has also declared as inconclusive, the
outcome of the elections in Bauchi, Benue,
Adamawa, Plateau and Sokoto states.
The PDP is leading in all the affected states
except in Plateau State where the sitting
governor, Simon Lalong, is leading.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle @atiku,
Atiku had tweeted:

Politics / I Want To Live Legacy Of Free, Fair Elections Innigeria – Buhari by escodotman: 7:47pm On Mar 11, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has declared
that he would want to be remembered as a
leader who kept his word that elections in
Nigeria must be free, fair and credible.
Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s
spokesperson in a statement in Abuja, said
President Buhari made this known he received
Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State at his
private residence in Daura, Katsina State, on
Monday.
Masari was in Daura to formally inform the
president of his election victory in March 9
Governorship poll.
President Buhari commended Nigerians who
heeded to his pre-election appeal to cast their
votes peacefully.
The President, who described the governorship
and state assembly elections across the country
as largely successful said: ‘‘I have maintained a
position that elections must be free and fair
and people have the right to make their
choices and vote their conscience.
“I am happy they understood the message and
did just that.
'‘Power is a public trust that belongs to the
people. Power is not by strength or wisdom but
by Providence.
“Elected persons must be fair and just. This is
the legacy I want to leave behind. A leader
must be fair and just. All leaders should strive to do that,’’ he said.
Masari, who was accompanied by officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party in the state, thanked the President and the party for the support which led to his decisive victory at the polls.
The governor pledged to work for the good of
the people of the state in line with the vision of the Next Level government at the centre
