hello everyone, muka wht do u think can be doing a system that always load the default cmos settings by prompting u to press F1 everytime u coldboot the system even when the cmos battery is good and tested. After starting up everything will be fine and if u try to warm boot i.e restart it will not boot cos it will just give u you cannot boot froma cdrom cos if u enter cmos settings and save and exit it will not boot againand will give you a blank screen till Jesus come and the only solution to make it boot is by removing the power cabl for a few seconds and then it load the default cmos settings by pressing F1 and then it will boot. What could be the erring scenerios cos the cmos battery is working hard drive is very much good. Solve this riddle brotherman

Men my main board gave me some series of post error that occur when ram is faulty and i tried 4 different ram of the same speed and also tried power pack the error still persist until i examine the board in daylight and discover that one of the data bus is broken that i.e all the thin line on the board got burnt and some resistor so the board has gone home after about 2  years of hard use 4 power pack got burnt on it so it has really served me. Installed Kubuntu back after about 4 or 5 trial and its configured like before sono more travails. I will go the cafe 2 upgrade to 6.10 and will also install beryl before bringing it back home. Afo are you doing your posts with your phone since you said you had problem with ppp link stuff i also had that problem i used a bluetooth dongle with nokia 3650 it connected but did not browse then i used sendo X it connected 4 bout 3 seconds cos the AVG update windows launched immediately but later complained and gave me ppp link error. Lastly i use my phone thru usb cable it sees my modem but gave me ppp link error i tried everything it displayed as possible cause of error all na lie. Cheerio

I was down with brontok cos i never use any anti virus before getting infected wit brontok. i downloaded the latest 7.5 and also did an update and bingo. AVAST also is good

Afo i'll recommend you back up your settings by writing out the values and you clear your jumper and re.enter it or use default values save and exit that should do it and if its doin so change ur cmos battery. About long booting time i don't want 2 conclude yet cos something similar happened 2 a Dell p3 that use for commercial stuffs it'll display the Dell logo for maybe 5 minutes or more and it'll now boot. Try that first then we'll know where 2 go from there. Cheerio

Just install Kubuntu 6.06 and its hanging and the same thing happens 2 Suse it hangs a lot but i burnt the cd well cos i used the lowest speed available on my drive and it hangs alot. Kubuntu is also hanging and i test the cd before installation its was ok and Ubuntu or Kubuntu has never hang for once before i don't know where the trouble lies. Cheerio

I think Suse fumbled men the thing worked fine except this sound issue and Afo you said i should use my windows driver it actually support linux but redhat 7.0 and 6.0 so i untar it and tried but did not work so i think i will revert back to Kubuntu cos it support my hardware fine and i want 2 start teaching my siblings computer and i want 2 start wit linux before windows. Aside from the sound issue the Suse still possess some stuff that i find  rather primitive and hard for a person that has no knowledge whatsoever in computer so am sticking 2 Ubuntu or Kubuntu in terms of training my siblings. Niggy the stuff did not work but thanks for the help. With me  its penguin for life just like Chelsea (blue) for life
