Would you have made this post if PDP was leading? God bless you today, tomorrow and the days to come |

Politics › Re: Who Is More Powerful...a Minister And A Senator??? by essemdeey350(m): 8:20am On Nov 29, 2015 |
CACAWA: a local govt chairman was also elected, so what is your point?
A minister is more powerful than a senator. A minister represents the president. His opinion makes impact, while a senator needs to team up with majority of his colleagues to make anymeaningfulimpact.
A minister is at par with a state governor...a minister controls several agencies of govt and can determine how much of federal presence any state would feel. Many state governors have to seek approval from ministers before downing any project. For example, to build a road anywhere, you need approval from ministry of environment, ministry of housing, ministry of works and ministry of lands. If a finance minister says NO, you can't even collect state loans. Who controls CBN?
A state has three senators, just one governor, and just one minister.
A minister also controls financial power...all a senator has is his salary and allowance.
Finally, a minister is a principal member of the executive while a senator may not even be a principal member of the senate.
QED Thank you bro...You said it all. Majority of Nairalanders have misinterpreted this question. Remember the question is an agitation between a senator and a minister and not senators and a minister; senators and ministers; ministers and a senator. There will be different answers for each case |

Carmal90: Pls go and learn politics, from your input it seems you are a novice in politics, but let me educate you a little bit. 1.saraki can only be removed by 2/3 of senators 2.pdp has 48 senators 3.apc 59 senators 4.pdp with 48 senators and few other from apc elect saraki as sp 5. With pdp 48 senators they will need just 25 senators from apc
Now tell me can pdp impeach saraki Bro APC has 64 senators and PDP has 43.. Be conversant and deal with facts and figures. |

Firefire: My sister, in our sentiment, let us be objective.
If another party you have no feelings for is in power and make all this evil mistakes of Buhary, how will you react ?
Let someone quickly tell Gen. Mohamodu Buhary, it's not reasonable to appoint INEC Chairman from the same region with him.
Don't ask me for any law that back my assertion from Nigeria ambiguous laws. This is COMMON SENSE.
Buhary, the earlier you reconsider your steps the better for One Nigeria.
Shalom! Remember North has 21states out of 36 states, covers 60% land mass and has 70% population of Nigeria... So, why the noise.. Check under the last administrations, northerners' appointments have predominances over the Southerners'. Stop wailing bro, because I ve always known you for that. |

Those who voted for change should enjoy the Government of the aged (Gerentocracy) For you to have made such conclusion, it means none of them can deliver.... He that wants equity must come with clean hands.. Imagine, I wonder what Nigeria Senate is turning to. They want ministerial nominees to obtain ASSETS and LIABILITIES FORMS before screened, yet Senators have not done/obtain theirs right since they were ordered to make them public... STUDY OR REMAIN STUPID, DECLARE ASSETS AND REMAIN PROUDY. |

Is PMB ready to fight corruption with this list of ministers?
lick like if you think PMB can still fight corruption with these list of ministers on board or share if otherwise! If the Citadel of Justice is currupt, what will happen to the body politics? it is completely rotten and collapse...... Now, I hope the ministers' level of corruption will be optimized or suppressed to that of the President Muhammadu Buhari, Because he happens to be the Citadel of Justice and think he has zero or little level of corruption |

ojaydedon: maybe he wants a sign from d gods..
#babawearewatchingyou . . . . Though PMB promised to declare it publicly but the Constitution doesn't say it must be declared publicly but to the code of conduct bureau. Section 140, subsection 1 limitates this 140. (1) A person elected to the office of President shall not begin to perform the functions of that office until he has declared his assets and liabilities as prescribed in this Constitution and he has taken and subscribed the Oath of Allegiance and the oath of off ice prescribed in the Seventh Schedule to this Constitution. And that I never seen anything related to assets declaration in the provisions of the seventh schedule Constitution doesn't give him power to declare it publicly but to the code of conduct bureau. But remember Formal President Yaradua happened to be the first to declare his assets and liabilities but not in line with the constitution Remember he was sworn in on 29th may 2007 but declared assets and liabilities one month after sworn-in (29th july 2007) and Vice President GEJ declared his, two months after taken oath.... And the constitution says he should declare it before he begins to perform the functions of that office.... Hadn't they began to perform the functions of the President and Vice President within that 1 month and two months respectively? Nigerians wisen up, as we are responsible for the problems our country has.. To be factual, PMB declared his assets and liabilities in accordance and in line with the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria. |

Like someone said, had it been GMB loses the election, he would have disrupt what remains in the country... Well I personally do not support killing, but for instances 1. You av written an exam which u really prepared for, later the result comes out and u noticed someone who had cheated to score more than u, pls how will u feel... won't u react? That's just the better explanation of Nigeria election, PDP will always belief in the power of rigging elections and u will expect me as a candidate from the opposing party to accept defeat, pls Nigerians wisen up..... Why not let us accept free and fair conduct of election and not in the power of rigging...... If GMB had been losing by free and fair conduct of election but not by riggings, I blv he would have been congratulating the winner.... If GEJ tried not to accept the May 28th election by disrupting things and lives ,then it's something else, because the conduct of the election was free and fair....... #essemdeey_I_am |
