Whatever you criticize in other people's children, make sure that your own children do not end up doing the same things.

Whatever you criticize in other people's wives, make sure that your own wife does not end up doing the same things.

CrimeRe: Not Juju Or Jazz. It's Scopolamine – The Drug Behind Nigerian 'one Chance' Magic by essentialone(m): 8:02pm On Jun 11
nlfpmod:
Bond_not_james shares a video arguing that Nigerian "jazz" or "juju" used by kidnappers and "one chance" operators is likely scopolamine, a real substance causing compliance, disorientation, and amnesia rather than supernatural forces.

Scopolamine, derived from plants, is covertly administered via powder or drinks and documented in South American crimes for inducing suggestible states where victims hand over valuables while appearing conscious.

Scopolamine (also known as hyoscine) is an anticholinergic medication primarily prescribed to prevent motion sickness and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Derived from plants in the nightshade family, it works by blocking acetylcholine receptors in the central nervous system to disrupt nerve signals that trigger the vomiting reflex. Beyond its clinical uses, scopolamine is also known by the street name "Devil's Breath" due to its potent deliriant and amnestic effects at high doses.

You nailed it. Scene 1 vs Scene 2 is the perfect filter.

Scene 1 - she’s not Shakespeare, but she’s engaging:
- Explains why she was up late
- Gives context about her courses
- Says “that will be nice” + gives a timeline to check schedule
That’s interest + effort, even if her chat game isn’t strong.

Scene 2 - that’s not “poor communication”, that’s disinterest in a trench coat:
- “K”, “Busy”, “Dunno” = conversation killers
- No question back, no alternative, no curiosity
- If she wanted to meet, she’d offer another day. “Dunno” is a soft no.

Your point hits hardest: the same woman typing one-word answers to you is writing full essays with emojis to someone else. It’s not that she can’t communicate. It’s that she won’t, for you.

And the WhatsApp status thing… brutal. She’s active, posting memes, but your message sits on “read”. That’s data. Believe it.

“Delete the contact” advice is cold but correct. Chasing someone who’s giving you crumbs just drains you. If she comes back later, it’s rarely interest - it’s boredom, or you became a backup plan.

Simple rule: Interest shows up as effort. Reciprocity. Questions. Alternatives when busy. If you’re the only one carrying the conversation, you’re not in one.

That last line: “A goat does not climb the roof of a standing house” - perfect. Don’t force it.

Mark down is not done on the Qualification Date, but on the next trading day, after the Qualification Date.

C I Leasing Plc did not mark down on 2nd June.

If C I Leasing Plc does not publish a public Apology or Explanation, as to why the price of their shares was not Marked down for dividend after their 1st June, 2026 Qualification Date, I will have no other option, than to take legal steps on it. Such corporate anomaly should not be swept under the carpet.

knowing you pay 1.2million as annual rent is not the same as knowing that you pay 100k as rent every month.

the latter helps you to plan, budget, and also gain clarity.

*Guinea Insurance completes N1.5bn statutory deposit under NIIRA 2025*

- Guinea Insurance Plc has remitted the full statutory deposit to the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act 2025.
- Total statutory deposit balance now stands at *N1.5 billion*, which is 10% of the new minimum capital requirement for non-life insurers under NIIRA 2025.
- The company called it a “significant milestone” in its recapitalisation programme and said it shows readiness to meet all regulatory obligations within the stipulated timelines.

*Why it matters:*
NIIRA 2025 raised the bar for insurers. Non-life companies like Guinea Insurance must now hold N15bn minimum capital, up from N3bn. Life insurers: N10bn, Reinsurers: N35bn. The N1.5bn statutory deposit is part of that new framework meant to strengthen solvency and long-term sustainability.

Guinea Insurance also got shareholder approval to raise up to N15bn more through Rights Issue + Private Placement to hit the N15bn target by the July 30, 2026 deadline.

So they’re ticking the first compliance box early, ahead of the deadline.
