Hmmm! That’s me having a sigh. I sometimes sigh in defeat when I am just at the verge of quitting. Millions of thoughts cross my mind on a daily basis…thoughts as these….will you ever just crack this stuff? Will you ever stop being broke? Will you ever stand out? Will you ever do anything extraordinary? Is there anything you can do well? You may not be able to do as much …you need to consider the current state of your health…you are not as qualified, you are not as strong… you are not as pretty…you are not as intelligent, there is nothing extraordinary about you, you are just ordinary…. just stick with that….

Haltttttttttt!!!!! I am about to go crazy if I don’t consciously halt these thoughts. Other times I do more than halt these thoughts, I speak out, I get on my feet and go about those ‘impossibles’. I go back to whatever I have failed at and try again. Oh please, is it that simple? someone asks….No, it is not as easy. No, it is not as easy at all! And that is why I am sitting before my computer at 10:33 this morning scribbling as fast as I can. What has helped me to stay positive, what has helped me progress, what has helped me face that issue, and particularly, what has helped me stay sane!

First thing is to Desire, and then ask! That’s it? Yes, that’s it my friend. Just desire not to remain in the same situation and then ask for help. Help from whom? Ask God at every point in time to help you.

What does God have to do with this? God has everything to do with everything. He is a professional in using misfits to achieve great feats. These are misfits but God used each of them in his service and He can and will use you too if you stop making excuses, if you stop letting negative thoughts take over, if you turn over to God, if you rely and depend totally on Him and importantly if you develop a functional relationship with Him.

Your weaknesses are tools for exploit in God’s hands….Turn it over!

An EBer asks for our advice, please read below…

I married my husband September last year. We have been having issues since the beginning of this year because of the number of children he wants us to have. Before we got married, we talked about it and agreed we would have three children max, to be able to take care of them properly which was what I had always wanted.

He had a dream the night before the new year that he was playing with children, he couldn’t give an exact number but said they were up to ten and since then he said it is a sign from God that we should give birth to more children. He can be very spiritual sometimes but I thought he was just kidding because I am three months pregnant at the moment and feel its normal during this period to dream about children since we are expecting a baby. Before I knew what was happening, he told me that he has prayed and made a final decision to have SIX children without even discussing with me first.

I am the woman and the one who will take in, go through all the pregnancy stress, labour, delivery, children wahala, work, husband and the home all at the same time. How does he expect me to manage? I don’t even want to hear, but our parents and grandparents survived it. That was then abeg. Most men will always say they will support and all that, it’s just cheap talk, while in reality its different.

Children are blessings that I know but I have never imagined going through labour more than three times talk more of six. What if I cannot give birth to more than three children we initially agreed on or even less, who knows what he will do then. My marriage is still fresh, and I am already getting tired of everyday quarrels because of it.

I have talked and talked, now I keep quiet about it and keep praying he changes his mind one day but what if he doesn’t because I am sure he is also praying too. When I think about who God will answer scares me the most… I don’t know what to do anymore.

Please advise.

There is this guy I used to date before I started dating my present boyfriend, we had countless of naughty pictures together while we were dating. Normally, I don’t like to take or send nude or half naked pictures with or to the guys I date, because I do not want to hear any dirty stories or blackmails in the future.

But with this particular ex, it was different. We took lots of pictures together in different places, anywhere and anytime he gets his hands on his phone, my phone or any device with a camera. It was so surprising to see a guy who is a picture freak but I became cool with it eventually. There were some pictures he took I wasn’t even aware of until he showed me.

Now I am in a fix, I met my present guy over a year ago. We dated for a few months and then broke up after I travelled out of the country for a 2-year program, he was always complaining about the distance which led to series of quarrels but after some months we settled and started dating again.

Meanwhile, during the period we were separated, my ex came to the country where I was studying and we decided to hang out on a clean slate, and then one thing led to another, we went to his hotel room and the rest is history. He took lots of pictures while we were together at the pub, club and in his hotel room.

When I got back with my present boyfriend, he asked if I dated someone while we were separated, and I lied because I had no idea how he was going to take it if I had told him the truth.

Now my ex sent me some private pictures of us in the hotel room and at the pub and said he was going to send the pictures to my boyfriend on Facebook that I cheated on him.

I know it wasn’t cheating because at that time I was single but I am so confused right now because I wasn’t truthful to my boyfriend and if he finds out, he would lose his trust for me and maybe end the relationship. I told my ex to delete all my pictures but said he won’t, I wish there was a way I could delete all the pictures from his phone. Even if I block him from all my social media accounts, he knows my boyfriend’s Facebook account.

I don’t want to lose my boyfriend now as he has started talking about settling down with me. Its so difficult these days to find a good guy ready to settle down and age is no longer on my side.

Please advise.

I am a Nigerian lady engaged to a Dutch man who insists we would not circumcise our male kids. He is of the opinion that the act is “very wicked and hurtful”, and feels it is medically unnecessary and violates the child human rights.

I am from the eastern part of Nigeria to be precise and a Christian who is also from a strong Christian background and believes strongly in the significance of circumcision. This is a great dilemma for me as we love each other so much and want to spend the rest of our lives together.

But then, I can’t tell my parents that we won’t be circumcising out male kids. I can’t even imagine it. This is not something I can also hide from my parents, because I pray God keeps my parents alive, my mother will still come do omugwo after I give birth to a male child hopefully and then she sees it and starts asking question. How would I explain it to her… It’s also a No No for me…

Circumcision alone is not a good reason to break up a relationship leading to marriage. I have tried to talk about it with my fiancee but he still stands his ground on it.

What do I do?
