Minimum wage affects all workers' salary. The salary structure is computed using the minimum wage. The last minimum wage was computed using N18,000.

Now that it has changed to N30,000 workers salary will be adjusted to reflect the increase at all levels. Minimum wage increase is not just for cleaners

Christianity EtcRe: Why It Is Never Right For You To Pray That Your Enemies Fall And Die Today by ETHIX(m): 7:11am On Mar 17, 2019
unstoppable51:
From FeedMeJesus.com

A common practice in so many Nigerian and African churches in general, is the prayer of “my enemies fall and die!”

In case you are not familiar with this sort of prayer probably because you are reading this from outside the continent, “fall and die” prayers actually has to do with the “sending of Holy Ghost fire, earthquakes, thunder, rainfall etc to kill and destroy one’s enemies (mostly

witches and wizards) and evil spirits.”

The prayer is often targeted at “wicked” uncles, aunts, neighbours, colleagues, mothers, fathers, herbalists, old men and women in villages who does not take pleasure in seeing other people succeed in life.

Sometimes it is also targeted at politicians, leaders and even business people who oppose the spread of the Gospel and “exchange people’s destinies” for money.

This type of prayer is seriously backed up with the belief that there are people who must die before you can ever be successful in life and so you need to pray for this to happen as soon as possible with all your strength. Like a wounded Lion, you must be very violent when praying these fall and die prayers.

The shocking thing is, the two most popular scriptures proponents of such prayers always put their feet on has little or nothing to do with their usage today. The first is Matt.11:12.

(Mat 11:12) And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

Is this verse asking you to be violent in prayer and take your destiny by force? Well to understand what it is saying, let us read it from another translation.

From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. Matt.11:12 NIV

The verse is simply saying from the time John the Baptist started preaching the kingdom of God has been forcefully advancing on the earth as men has by faith been taking hold of it. It has nothing to do with prayers, let alone violent ones.

The other scripture used to promote these “fall and die” prayers is the passage that describes how Elijah killed King Ahaziah’s soldiers by commanding physical fire to come out from nowhere and consume them.

(2Ki 1:9) Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God, the king has said, Come down.

(2Ki 1:10) And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men.

(2Ki 1:11) Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah, O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly.

(2Ki 1:12) And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men.

What most people do not know is that although fire actually appeared and destroyed those soldiers, it wasn’t God’s best. God was never pleased with it. He is never pleased with the death of the wicked.

(Eze 18:23) Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

(Eze 18:32) For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

Under the dispensation that Elijah lived in, the knowledge of God and His modules operandi was very very limited. So folks in those days said and did things according to their level of knowledge that were contrary to what God would have them do.

This was part of the reason God became flesh in His Son Jesus to give us a perfect representation of His true nature, will and character. Ending an era of attributing evil, death and destruction to Him. This is so clear in that in the face of the strongest opposition Jesus never killed but healed and restored life to His enemies.

(Heb 1:1) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

(Heb 1:2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

(Heb 1:3) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

So in Christ’s dealing with man, we see the true nature of God. In His words, Jesus puts it this way.

(Joh 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Just a little while after those words, He set out with His disciples to Jerusalem for a preaching engagement and the Samaritans would not allow Him pass through their city because they were not at peace with the Jews.

When His disciple saw what was happening, they got so upset they wanted to call down fire to consume the Samaritans who were their enemies and enemies of the Gospel at that moment. But what did Jesus do? Let’s see it together from the scriptures.

(Luk 9:51) And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

(Luk 9:52) And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.

(Luk 9:53) And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.

(Luk 9:54) And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

(Luk 9:55) But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

(Luk 9:56) For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Verse 55 said Jesus REBUKED them for even having that thought alone. The word “rebuked” in that verse is not like when you softly tell your son, “Son don’t do this again.” No, it’s a very strong word. It is used almost the same way it is used to say Jesus rebuked demons. Very strongly.

He was very serious about them not imitating Elijah in this manner at all. And in verse 56 we see His reasons clearly.

(Luk 9:56) For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them….

In praying for those in authority and for all men in general, Paul gives us a guideline.

(1Ti 2:1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

(1Ti 2:2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

(1Ti 2:3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

(1Ti 2:4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God would have all men (including your village people. LOL) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth. He doesn’t want anyone perishing.

Some say it is not the human beings they are praying to die but the evil spirits behind their wickedness. Like seriously? Spirits don’t die! Even if they do, it is not within your authority biblically to kill them. Only God can and that’s why He made Hell, their place of eternal death.

The Bible said believers should cast them out, not kill them in the name of Jesus.

(Mar 16:17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Be humble and remain within the confines of the scriptures and stop making Christianity look like a joke with those extra Biblical practices or those not permitted for the man in Christ today.

I hope this blesses you.

Glory to God!

A research and consulting firm, SnowWhite Consulting, based in the United Kingdom has projected that President Muhammadu Buhari will be victorious in the forthcoming presidential election in the oil-rich Nigeria. This was made known by the Director of Communication and Strategy, Mr. Adeola Jegede at a press release yesterday at its London office.

According to Jegede, “February 16, 2019 is another date with destiny in Nigerian political landscape as various political parties present their candidates as well as manifestoes to the electorates to make rightful choice on who will lead the global most populous black nation for the next four years”.

“The firm observes that the race will be between the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP) with President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as their respective candidates”.

Jegede reiterates that the stakes in Nigeria electioneering process are high both locally and internationally, evidenced by powerful voices clamouring for free, fair, transparent and credible electioneering exercise in Nigeria.

The firm’s spokesperson stated that the presidential election results projection is based on various variables that could determine how the electorates tend to cast their votes.

“Our research survey identified among other factors: historical voting pattern, performance of incumbent president, existence of political structure spread, personality of each candidate, availability of sufficient campaign funding, followership’s loyalty, internal party stability and coordination, as well as power of incumbency as part of variables that determine the how Nigeria electorates may cast their ballots. Other considerations are party’s strategy disposition, voting capacity by each state measured by PVC collection rate, and general support base”, he stated.

According to Jegede, the poll survey projects that the total number of votes to be cast on February 16, 2019 presidential election tends to hover around 33.65 million, of which the APC presidential candidate, President Muhammadu Buhari, expected to secure around 19.2 million votes representing 58.2% of total ballot cast, while main opposition PDP candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar projected to get up to 13.9 million votes representing 41.3% and the rest would secure just little above half a million votes, accounting for 5% of the likely total vote cast across the country.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Or Atiku: Anxiety, As Nigeria Enters Crucial Week by ETHIX(m): 9:46am On Feb 11, 2019
mknigeriagreat:
Bubu all the way and this analogy below sweetens me.

Multiplier effect of corruption

1. A young man works for one of the state ministries. His salary is 120K. He makes 15,000 everyday on this desk (N75k a week) engaging in corrupt practices. As a result, he spends the daily cash as he cares. Living large and far above his legitimate income.

2. He visits the local joint every evening and buys drinks for friends, and area boys. They hail him. He is married, but has two girlfriends. His "income" is enough to take care of them. The Asun seller at his favorite joint is happy, the joint owner is happy.

3. Everyone was benefiting from his "income". Friends, family, area boys, joint owner, Asun seller, girlfriends, wife and his church. Life was good.

4. Then suddenly the ministry implemented the Treasury Single Account (TSA) at the beginning of PMB administration. His extra "income" disappeared and he had to adjust to the reality of event and live within his real income. That wasn't easy.

5. Initially he reduced his daily visit to the joint to 3 days a week and stopped buying drinks for everyone. He reduced he plates of Asun. The Asun seller started to find it hard to sell a full goat each day and resorted to buy half.

6. The young man's girlfriends started to feel the heat too. No more iPhone 10. The joint owner noticed a drop in sales. The young man finally stopped visiting the joint after a month. The area boys started feeling his absence. The effect cascaded down.

7. The young man started spending more time at home with his wife and kids. The family had to readjust to the reality of the new normal. His hair stylist noticed the young man suddenly stopped tipping. He will even wait for his N200 change after haircut.

8. Things are different. Times are hard, they all cry. The young man is blaming Buhari, his wife is blaming Buhari, the area boys are blaming Buhari, the girlfriends are saying Buhari must go, the joint owner is saying Buhari killed the "economy"

9. The Asun seller is cursing Buhari, the hair stylist is insisting Buhari is too old to rule. This is the story of our nation where corruption fuels the "economy". Those who are not engaging in it are benefiting from it.

10. This tread is not about Buhari's achievement or failure, but rather about the "multiplier" effect of corruption and how we have built a system largely driven by corruption. It's about policy implication (good or bad). It's about the choices we have made.

Finally, the young man had to withdraw his kids from what he called expensive primary school his kids attend. He added:"what are they teaching them there sef " Obasanjo didn't go to a private school. I just laughed

My Take:
Most of the so called rich men and women in Nigeria before now were feeding fat on the populace, imaging a level 15 officer in a state ministry sponsoring two of his/her children's education in Europe but when TSA came to effect, free money dried up but Buhari was blamed for the inability to fund children in Europe! Awon ole jati -jati, ofan a je l'oju onile.
Not everyone is blaming Buhari for your analysis but then again, Nigerian economy needs an economic team with a good policies to revive a the country back to her feet.

Appointing incompetent ministers and delays in taking decisions affects the country. You need to read about the multiplier effect of money.

A group, Igbo Reawakening Forum (IRF) on Sunday said President Buhari remained the only leader that has the capacity to halt Nigeria’s drift into disintegration.

The group said Buhari’s emergence in 2015 was an act of God to end the balkanization of the country and to serve as a brigde between the nation’s spiritual fathers and the masses.

In a communuque issued after its joint meeting of the Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee in Awka, and signed by both chairmen, Chief Nkwo Nnabuchi and Uchenna Ufearoh respectively, the body affairmed its belief and commitment to a united Nigeria state.

The body said its decision to endorse Buhari/Osinbajo joint ticket was informed by the confidence it has on their candidacy to address the myraid of challenges facing the nation.

The group regretted the refusal of the Igbos to learn from history despite all they had suffered since independence.

It asked the people of the zone to vote massively for Buhari at the Saturday poll to change the narratives.

The group said, “The present Igbo leaders have not cared to examine thoroughly the mistakes of Michael Okpara in 1964, General Ironsi in 1966 and Odumegwu Ojukwu in 1967.

“Regrettably, Igbos have not learnt any lesson from the tragedies they faced in the 60s. They are still deep in the political naiveity that destroyed Igbo civilization.”
