Warships are fitted with binoculars which are able to see ships from miles away. It could be that the fisher men met with some nasty military men who wanted to kick the hearts out of their bodies. Clearly, you could see that those shots were deliberately adjusted to hit just only few metres away from the vessel. Cape algahas is free from pirates and there is clearly no possibility that navy ships would ever intent to shoot ships in that area.

Yes,the T72 is newer
But that is because the Russians found the T62 too expensive to mass produce and operate
So they developed a plan
The majority of their armored units would be "mobility" formations using the T72 which is cheaper to mass produce and operate
They would then have a select few,elite,"spearhead" units which would operate the T62
Mobility units would wear the enemy down (and take the heavyest casualties) and then spearhead units would punch holes in the enemy lines which mobility units would pour through and try to exploit the breakthrough as much as possible(again taking heavy casualties)
Basically,economically,the T72 is better.But as a tank the T62 is better
FYI the T80 evolved from the T62 not the T72

But the T-72 has a more upgraded 125mm gun,compared to the T-62's 115mm.
Also,the T65 can only discharge a limited 40 round of ammo.
Over 20,000 T72 MBTs were produced,as against 23,000 T62: this doesnt suggest that the T62 was not "mass produced".

Why do you say that?,werent the T-62s commissioned in the 1960s,surely the T-72 is a more upgraded version of the T-62.

@oga agaugust,abeg no vex say i dey disturb you this afternoon,but i want to ask if you or anyone else here know the number of T-72 tanks we recieved recently,and where they are from.
The new delivery seem to have ERA on it,unlike some of the earlier ones from czech.

Hence why you see so many pictures of the T-72 with its turret blown clean off
While the lack of spalling liners means that hits that dont penetrate the T-72 cause "spalling" on the inside of the turret (small peices of metal fly around the inside of the tank) which causes horrific crew fatalities.
That being said,its effective against older generation ATGM's and RPG's and is better than anything else in the region(unless Cameroon gets the MBT 3000 from China)
For me,its a necessary evil for Nigeria to aquire them now to win the war. But its not a dynasty MBT that you can expect 30-40 years service from.

Those citations are merely opinions of foreign analysts{which are rarely factual}.
I sincerely doubt that buhari is reckless enough to even try to implement sharia throughout Nigeria,it will not only ruin his political career,it will also destroy his political party.

This morning,i read in the news about how the new president elect,president buhari stressed that he would destroy boko haram in two months [s]with the help of our neighbours: chad,cameroon and niger[/s]
He also accused the jonathan government of not doing enough to strengthen our ties with neighbouring countries in order to fight boko haram.
This is exactly what i feared will happen if a northern muslim ever becomes president; sympathy towards muslim nations like Chad and Niger,romancing with the enemy,unnecessary show of friendship,support and brotherhood towards countries that wish us only destruction.
A Hausa-Fulani man like buhari will see himself as a brother and comrade to the many chadians,nigeriens and cameroonians of similar tribes; especially the kanuri and fulani that populates our immediate neighbours. He will allow his sense of comradeship to cloud our national interests: which involves restraining expansionist countries like chad.

That will not happen,DA and EFF are water and oil,meaning that they do not mix.DA stand for right to ownership of property and EFF condones the forceful expropriation of private property for the benefit of all. Should the DA ever side with the EFF it means that they will be failing millions of their constituencies who will have to prepare to lose property to the benefit of all.Those constituencies are merely voting for DA to safeguard their property as the DA is their only voice in parliament that still defend their properties.

The DA will restructure its ideology if it really wants to stand a chance of dominating the central government.
By contructing its ethics to admit limits and license concerning ownership of private land and property,such that properties owned by consistuencies must be limited and also used as an avenue to cater for the general public.
This would appease EFF's socialist views,and allow a possible inter-party alliance.its mutual interest.

The DA is the rightist movement supporting the capitalist agenda and the EFF is a Marxists-Leninist movement that support radicalism and tell me where do the two meet?
The EFF support socialist ideology of sharing while the DA are conservative movement who support the property ownership. DA are totally against nationalisation and land expropriation without compensation. The move will however cause a great upset that will lead to avalanche of much greater exodus of prominent leaders in the DA and who will in turn form yet another new DA. Such move is impossible on political ideological aspects.

There can be a significant change in ideology of the DA towards a more socialist view.If the DA realises that remaining firmly rooted in its capitalist ideology would never yield it the substantial support needed to annex the presidency,it would have to at least restructure its ideology to enable inter-party alliance or even an outright coalition.
Such a move is possible.
