Hi All,
Please there was someone on this thread that discussed CAD for sale. Please can you provide the details again. I am considering changing some Naira to CAD and I will like to know the applicable rates prior to making a decision.

Maybe one of us will start one ourselves just that we are all newbies so not sure how useful we will be to each other UXC007: Please assist with Calgary Telegram / Whatsapp link or details. It's not going yet. I have checked the requirements for Ontario and Alberta, I have downloaded the forms. But I have not really moved forward from there, lol. Maybe I will work on it this week hayoakins: So nice you have gotten your PR card too. How is ACCA CPA conversion going? |

hayoakins: LANDING GIST
I flew EgytAir and got to the airport by 10am for a 12:45pm flight. I had just a check-in bag and one backpack.
GOD bless Canada and Nigeria Very nice and straight forward. Thanks for sharing. I also did my soft landing early last year before finding this page late last year so I did not write my landing gist. But this was pretty much my experience as well. Except, my uber app worked so all was well. I also had to wait for a few mins for them to open as we arrived early. This was fine because it meant there was no queue since we were the first set. They also asked me for proof of funds and I showed them my bank app which they said I should convert to Canadian dollars and let them know how much it is. The guy didn't even wait for my response so we moved on. Filled some form (s), SIN was issued and they explained that this is your whole life and you need to take care of the number etc etc. PR arrived about two weeks later. |

Meanwhile, please I have decided to start my ACCA/ CPA conversion and I noticed they have different criteria for Alberta and Ontario. Na wa oh.
Please is there a general CPA Canada? and has anyone done Alberta then had to relocate to Ontario? I don't want to do it for Alberta and then have to change to Ontario if its stressful, since I am not sure where I will be settling.
Please let me know if its easy to change later if required.
thanks, |

mikkyphp: Babe, if you have yor CPA, abeg wetin u dey go find for Calgary? I have ACCA so I intend to convert to CPA. Why not Calgary? Lower cost of living, more chilled lifestyle, open spaces etc. I can live in city centre and not have long commute like from GTA to Toronto downtown. All based on research sha. At the end of the day, I really don't know for certain where I will end up. I have about a month to decide. Any ideas for what else to consider? |

safex: Do you have a family/relative in Alberta or Toronto?
That's another factor you may want to consider I do not have family in any of them |

kingkhalil: Abeg o.A I am also torn between the two. I'm an accountant. I have booked my ticket to Calgary and decided that I will make a decision at some point on if I will just end my trip in Toronto as the flight passes through Toronto. But if I continue on to Calgary, since cost of living is cheaper, I will not lose much to book a flight back to Toronto if all the interviews are there. I will book airbnb for only two weeks in whichever location and move if required. That means my cargo items need to wait a month or two till I am sure of my permanent location and I will not get permanent accommodation until I am certain. |

Hi Utonne, please contact me on everygirlng@gmail.com I got a notification that you sent me an email but I am not sure if my response was shared. thanks, Utonne: Sharing my landing gist cos i enjoyed reading others and it kept me hyped while waiting. Trip was for Fri Aug 9, Got to Airport 7pm. There was a lot of traffic getting right into the airport. Flew KLM with an itinerary of Lagos-Amsterdam-Calgary. They were pretty organized and decent for check in. Both my bags weighed 24 and 25 respectively while my hand luggage was 15 and they were really generous. Departure was delayed and we left lagos at 22:30 instead of 21:45. Flight was pretty ok. I just need money to start flying business class. Lol. Meal was pretty decent. Main meal was mashed potatoes and chicken and a couple of others snacks. Wasnt interested with the on flight entertainment. I was drained. Just listened to music and slept. Got to Amsterdam 20 mins ahead of schedule at 5:00am. Layover was pretty much 6hrs. Boarded for the flight to Calgary at 11:45am. Flight was 8hrs 35 mins. Watched Endgame. Inflight entertainment was good. Had rice n barbecue chicken. I must say KLM had nice meals and snacks. Landed at Calgary at 13:25. No more landing cards, you are required to self check in digitally. Got to immigration for landing procedures, spent over an hour till it got to my turn. Took about 15 mins for the landing procedures. Just asked the statutory questions and had me sign off. It was quite cold and i was freezing. In August? Wow. It was a good trip. Thankful to be here. My journey has come full circle. Praise be to God. |

pejuhazel: Thanks, been doing all of that. I have someone on ground to help me inspect apartments that's why I'm asking, found a couple on rentfaster, one the landlord increased the rent by $100 because he'll hold the place till January and I'm yet to hear from the rest. I just want an agent or landlord familiar with new immigrants as I believe it will ease the requirements. Hi, please did you discuss with them while you are in Nigeria? How did you convince them to consider renting to you while you are still in Nigeria without any rental history. I keep hearing that you need rental history before anyone will rent to you |
