Metuh is only trying to justify his post as publicity sec,he shuld try to always come up with cogent facts on how well is party is doin with our commonwealth and stop engaging in exchanging banters with the opposition.

PoliticsRe: South Africa Vs Nigeria: Which Is More Influential In Africa? by ewet: 12:09pm On Apr 04, 2013
souldust: ok let me be a bit more specific.
When i said infuence, i mean cultural influence which include the presence of your material and non material culture in other countries, political influence which includes having a hand in other country's poitical land scape, economic influence which is not only how big and developed your economy is but also how connected other countries economy is to yours so that when there is say...a closing of the border or austerity measure, the other countries are affected. And last of all, military influence which is not just the number of your service men or the number of the big weapons you have, but how strategically important your military is in the peace and security of the continent
1. Culturally SA is more recognised, the Zulu and afrikaans language is beta recognised ahead of any nigerian language and this is due mainly to SA's tourism potentials.with tourism you can easily sell your culture and naija is no where near SA on this.

2.SA is SADC and SADC is all abt SA.thr is no other voice in tht regional economic bloc than 1 country thts SA,The emerging economies of Brazil,Russia,India,China and South Africa form B.R.I.C.S and this an economic bloc to reckon with in world politics. The time naija had absolute influence in ECOWAS or Africa in general is long gone.and our influence has been drastically reduced.

3. SA definately has more economic influence.

4.SA definitely has a much more advanced military.
PoliticsRe: South Africa Vs Nigeria: Which Is More Influential In Africa? by ewet: 12:00pm On Apr 04, 2013
SA is obviously the no 1 economy on the continent and it tops the list as an emerging market economy. Its a member of BRICS countries tht try to find an alternative to the overbearing influence of the first world countries. This is a country tht has gotten its priorities right and has a much more efficient foreign policy.Naija on the other hand is a country tht enjoys doin the macaba dance with no purpose, every thng is wrong with this country and a country tht cannot put its house in order,hw do you expect it to be respected abroad.Naija is a laffing stock and evry1 including Benin Rep and evn miniscule Togo will always be willing to take a swipe at us anytime thy get the chance.
No thanks to our purposeless govt with no sense of direction.

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Pays Condolence Visit To The Awolowo Family. by ewet: 10:47pm On Apr 03, 2013
ngozievergreen: I just finished telling you that Zik did that to pay the great betrayer, Awolowo in his own coin.
And yes, i think u dont get this whole thing. Awo supported biafra till northerners promised him president if he and yorubas will fight the war with them. That was y he supported Nigeria then.
He supported Ojukwu formerly because the latter helped him out of Calabar prison where northerners put him before the war. Well, the northerners disgraced him by not making him president as promised. After all he did to igbos as the finance minister just to please the north. Now tell me,is that the kind of person sb should merge with? Sb that couldnt stand on what he believed in.
The same Awo planned unseating IBB with a group of cohorts but a former lagos politician, Jakande sold him out to IBB. D latter deciding to treat it as a case of treason gave him two options: to go on exile or to go back to prison. However, awolowo chose sucide.
2) OBJ gave igbos key positions in his time to right some wrongs in the system. We all know how Ngozi's position in World bank gave us debt relief in OBJ's time but the same OBJ incurred excess debts in a bid to enrich himself and cronies. Now, we are back to square one. He basically spoilt what the woman built.
Oby Ezekwesili was in world bank too and her transparency in govt is unrivaled.
Dora Akunyili put the much needed transformation in the drug field BUT after knowing that igbos can transform this nation , wat FG project did he institute in the SE? If returning power to the south was intentional,y didnt he return it to the igbos? He wanted sb he could control. Giving igbos voice my foot.
3) Now which SW brains are u talking about? U are not the only nigerians that want federalism btw. Personally, i want to pull out from this forced and failed union completely.
I am not talking post 1960,i am talking pre 1960. here you are talking abt the biafran war,You need to know how much support Zik had in Lagos,as early as the 1940s legislative council elections he won seats in lagos, himself and AWO belonged to the same progressive school of thought. they were the only recognised progressives at the time and the yorubas culd hav easily substituted him for AWO regardless.yorubas saw Zik as part of them he still has properties here and even his children speak yoruba including his late son.
Zik betrayed us by courting the northerners, check the role he played in the 1962 census crisis, the western region crisis, the unsubstantiated treason charge against AWO.He was blinded by his quest to put the lousy AWO to the cleaners no matter wht,he saw AWO has the main enemy without realising he was actually sleeping with the enemy.
Kaduna nzeogwu saw AWO as the only genuine nationalist at the time along with Zik tht was why he survived the 1966 coup,if he had aligned with AWO thy would have put the abokis to sleep a long time ago.And why support biafra when it was a ploy to break up Nigeria of which Awo felt it was a wrong move and Nigeria was beta off as 1 indivisible unit.

If your assertions are true or mere figment of your illusionary cognition tht he tried to usurp IBB dont you thnk tht was appropriate in tht the govt at the time was illegal and negated constitutionalism and he took democracy to the cleaners. At least he tried along with others who equally did same at various times such as Orkar and vatsa!I do not see any Igbo name here tht tried to save the nation from the despotic hands of the then maradona

Obj is the most detribalised yoruba leader alive today,he saw thru the 1st,2nd and 3rd reps,he realized the wrongs of these eras and tried his best to right the wrongs by balancing the equity.

If you truly want true federalism, why not make your people shout it out to high heavens like the SW is doin at the moment.we cant even hear your voice at the moment and your leaders betray every sympathy to this course because thy are busy enriching themselves and blindly supporting the neo conservative PDP which is an apostate of the North tht wants to continually enslave us in these inequitable union much to the chagrin of the true progressives.

Sincere 9gerian: Complete nonsense! And your silly imaginary mobilization did all the magic within few days to the election? Did you alter the result of the election? Was it not one man, one vote? Or you pointed a gun at people's head compelling them to vote PDP?

My guy, stop fooling around. If what you described actually happened, then it means you gave in after sensing DEFEAT.

I recall that the ACN/CPC alliance talks collapsed few days to the election proper. Was it within those few days that your imaginary mobilization did the wonders? Yeye dey worry you.

PoliticsRe: Presidency: It’s Ndigbo’s Turn - Anyaoku by ewet: 9:51pm On Apr 03, 2013
lekanolas: Former Commonwealth Secretary- General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, has said that it is the turn of Ndigbo to produce the next president of the country after President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure.

He said a President of Igbo extraction must take over the mantle of leadership from President Jonathan whenever his tenure comes to an end.

Anyaoku, who stated this in a interview with journalists in his country home, Obosi, Anambra State at the weekend, during his 80th birthday anniversary celebration, said that whether Jonathan is leaving office in 2015 or in 2019, should he contest and win a second tenure election, an Igbo president should take over from him.

The former Commonwealth scribe insisted that equity demands that Ndigbo must produce the next president and take over from Jonathan because all other geopolitical zones of the country have produced the president at one time or the other except Ndigbo, who make up the South-East geo-political zone.

According to him; “It does not matter whether Jonathan is leaving office in 2015 or 2019, what matters is that an Igbo president should take over from him as a mark of equity and fair-play since no Igbo man has ever been elected as president but other geo-political zones have produced the president at various times.”

http://nationalmirroronline.net/new/presidency-its-ndigbos-turn-says-anyaoku/
NO NO NO chief emeka anyaoku, please dont tow this line of ethnocentrinism, you are beyond tht and you are a mn beyond every nigerian politician in intelect and in integrity please dont get yourself enmeshed in the tribal jingoism tht has pervaded Nigeria from time in memorial.
You should be seen to uphold your schorlarly erudition of worldwide repute. You should genuinely canvass for ascendancy to the position of presidency to whom the cap fits, the best man or woman for the job who will seek the development of the country as priority.

Sincere 9gerian: "Tinubu convinced his people to allow GEJ win the elections"

Pls tell us when Tinubu convinced his people to vote for GEJ? Which media house carried the report? Was it at night that Tinubu went round southwest to "convince his people to allow GEJ win the elections"? Show us the news report or ANY EVIDENCE to that effect?

How come Osun state was exempted when "Tinubu convinced his people to allow GEJ win the elections"? Ironically, the man in charge of Osun state is the MOST LOYAL to Tinubu of all the ACN governors. So how come GEJ lost in Osun? Not just that GEJ lost in Osun, the governor, Aregbe, boasted that he inflicted defeat on the PDP.

If you dont show us any evidence to that effect before the election, then you must be an IGNORANT FOOL.

The earlier you accepted DEFEAT, the better for you.
KEEP QUIET< I was a member of the CPC and a very active 1 at tht,i was in my local govt executive and mobilising commitee for the house of assembly and local govt elections, for the presidential elections, after the supposed pact btw Tinubu and buhari broke down. Many of us still preferred the Ribadu/fola adeola ticket over the Buhari/bakare ticket so we went on campaigning for Ribadu,we were in constant rapport with the ACN hierachy in Lagos and we were always reporting to baba Hamzat's house if you knw who tht is.
It was thr we were told tht the tides had turned and tht we should mobilise for GEJ and the reasons were explained to us,though i didn't buy tht but i had no choice,i made my objections known and the best i culd do was to route for neither of them.Even my very close friend who was with us but was serving in Bauchi at tht time was one of the corp members murdered in the post elestion violence tht year.

Sincere 9gerian: Some of you ACN internet rats keep calling our president my pay master. I dont know how that relates to this topic except just to see if some us could be blackmailed to silence. I thought what to do to a strategy that isn't working is to DISCARD it. But the ACN internet rats have insisted on a strategy of blackmail that didn't work in 2011.

A part from the fact these blackmails tend to derail threads, they'r IMPOTENT.

Just to reiterate, if calling our president my pay master will make some persons HAPPY and keep them away from trouble or being used as instruments for suicide bombing, its all well and good.
Then xplain yourself and why you bliv so much in the obviously clueless GEJ against all logic and always redy to infect us with is retardeen ideology.

Sincere 9gerian: Such "deal" only exist in your clueless mind.

There's NOTHING like that. GEJ won in the southwest fair and square. Otherwise, show us concrete evidence that such deal existed BEFORE votes were cast for the 2011 presidential election.

What was Tinubu supposed to do to help GEJ win going by the imaginary "deal"? Was Tinubu supposed to alter the results of votes cast? Or Mobilize his supporters to vote GEJ? If he was to mobilize people to vote for GEJ, show us how he did that before votes were cast. NONSENSE!
In case you hav bin living under a rock or your paymasters hav gotten you chained to a laptop and a desk since you were born tht you hav not even stepped out of your cell in ages.Even Ribadu attested to this fact and its common knowledge all over the place tht Tinubu convinced his people to allow GEJ win the elections, tht was hw he was able to win the SW,you can come arund and ask any1 on the street.
PoliticsRe: How Did Tinubu Become So Powerful? by ewet: 7:52pm On Apr 02, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Tinubu appears "powerful" only in certain people's imagination. He's only enjoying the status of being the ONLY former governor in ACN at the moment. When more former governors emerge and as new generation of ACN governors emerge in ACN, Tinubu's imaginary powers will fade away.

However, one thing is not in doubt. Tinubu has used his position as the face of the opposition to build an empire of wealth for HIMSELF, perhaps in anticipation of when his political influence will wane.

OBJ lost out in his battle with Tinubu for the soul of southwest because OBJ was too silly that he NEVER reckoned with PERFORMANCE as a parameter for choosing his foot solders and putting people in positions of authority. While OBJ was using federal might to put people in positions of authority, the only parameter that was on his mind was loyalty. On the other hand, Tinubu was wise enough to consider both loyalty and PERFORMANCE. That made all the difference.
So doesnt tht deserve accolades you bloody hater!

What is the positive influence of tinubu's "power"?

When politicians like tinubu loot the treasury of the state they have lost their respect.
Nbody is asking you to fear him but whether you like it or not he single handedly is the pillar of opposition in naija and even the PDP treats him with utmost respect.
Tinubu is powerful due to his intellectual understanding of naija politics and his ability to define and maintain an ideology for the SW region, his antecedents and ability to manage people and resources for optimum result speaks volume.
