Actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she has converted to Islam after being a Christian for years.

Do you know why I hardly talk about Religion on here? It is quite sensitive for me. The prejudgment that comes with it and all. You’ve gotta be extremely close to me know what I practice.

So for the curious ones who have been asking, Yes I am a Muslim. Born into a Muslim home and was raised as one. If you care to know, B2 in my WAEC Examination. �

I have a loving Muslim Father who has given his children the free will to choose any religion they like be it Christianity or Islam. My Mom is a Christian, though not a practicing one. My Step mom is a Christian, My step sisters are Christians, my Step brothers are Muslims.

Have I been to a Church before? Plentyyyyy of them. I once converted, name the Church, MFM, RCCG, CLAM, CAC sure been there but one thing was certain, Islam never left me. My ways of dealing, my upbringing, all I learnt was from a Muslim and was what I truly knew. I was scared what folks would think about me if I went back to Islam and this went on for years. About 4 years ago, dec 31st 2016 I decided I would live my life for ME. Me alone! I came back to Islam. I feel fulfilled. I’m happier. I have received more Blessings this way. My Oldest son practices Islam, prays and Fasts as well.

Yes, I wear what I like, be it modest or not. Who are you to decide my inner intentions.
You know, it’s easy for you to type on your key pads and make assumptions, but folks who know me will say otherwise.

Islam I was taught teaches me that we are judged on our intentions by Allah alone. What’s within, not what you see.

Not looking for acceptance from anyone. I want people to live their life’s to it’s full potentials. Worry less of what the next fellow is doing. Judge less, focus on you and you alone and watch great things happen to you.

As Muslims do know, during the month of Ramadan, the Heavens are opened to accept our supplications and prayers and Hell is Closed and satan is caged down there. Let’s use this time wisely! I experienced Allah’s Greatness this time last year. I am looking forward to receiving my Blessings this year and every other day afterwards.

citizenry .

But the masses were thankful. Thankful for surviving the year and the ‘ austerity measures’ imposed by the prodigal Shehu Shagari administration, which swept into power in October 1983 on the wings of a violent election . Like an answer to an anxious prayer , a young Fulani soldier, Muhammadu Buhari , jumped on Dodan Barracks, Lagos, near the stroke of midnight with his band of bumbling, self - righteous soldiers and kicked out Shagari and his focusless National Party of Nigeria .

The nation broke into wild jubilation , hugging Buhari ’ s New Year present.

After just one year and eight months in the saddle , however , Major General Buhari was booted out of office by the man who ran the bloodiest military junta in the history of the country , General Ibrahim Babangida .

No regime in Nigeria ’ s history recorded a higher number of deaths of military personnel and civilian activists than Babangida ’ s murderous regime .

During the Babangida years, journalist Dele Giwa was shredded by a parcel bomb , over 150 senior Nigerian military officers crashed midair and perished in a Lagos swamp; poet- soldier, Maj. -Gen. Mamman
Vatsa, whom Babangida was best man to , wasn ’ t spared by the little man now marooned on Minna hilltop. Vatsa was tied to a stake and shot to death in 1985 over an alleged coup plot along with many other
brilliant soldiers . The gun of Babangida's misrule dripped with blood .

On Sunday , April 22 1990 , about five years into Babangida ’ s bloody rule , a junior soldier, Major Gideon Orkar, led the most audacious coup in the annals of the country by attempting to oust the fiercely- corrupt Babangida from power . The Orkar coup demystified Babangida , who fled , tail between legs , to Abuja, where he relocated the seat of power to from Lagos after escaping being killed through the courage of his ADC, Colonel UK Bello , who spirited him and his family out of Dodan Barracks via the backdoor. Bello later returned to the barracks to face the coup plotters but was killed inside an armoured tank.

Subsequently, the coup was foiled and the plotters were arrested . Orkar, a Tiv from Benue State , and 41 other soldiers were shot to death on July 27, 1990 .

Babangida abandoned power in 1993 when he couldn ’ t bear the local and international backlash resulting from his cancellation of the June 12 presidential election won by the late MKO Abiola . Sani Abacha ,
arguably, the only major general Babangida was taller than , later demolished the sandcastle Babangida foisted on the nation and christened Interim National Government , side -footing the weightless interim President, Ernest Sonekan , out of Aso Rock – after just three months in power. Abacha was nothing but greed. IBB was everything but good . The lucifer of deception embraces the devil of greed .

The Orkar coup clocked 30 years four days ago. So much water has passed under the Nigerian bridge. During the coup, Nigeria was headless for many hours as senior military officers rallied troops and engaged

After seizing power , Orkar accused the Babangida government of corruption, nepotism and killings . In his nationwide speech , Orkar cut off Sokoto , Kano , Katsina, Borno and Bauchi from the geographical
expression called Nigeria . He said , “ On behalf of the patriotic and well- meaning peoples of the Middle Belt and southern parts of this country , I , Major Gideon Orkar, wish to inform you of the successful ousting of the dictatorial , corrupt , drug baronish , evil man , deceitful , homosexually-centred , prodigalistic unpatriotic administration of General Badamosi Babangida . ”

He continued , “ We have equally commenced their trials for unabated corruption, mismanagement of national economy , the murders of Dele Giwa , Major -
General Mamman Vasta , with other officers as there was no attempted coup but mere intentions that were yet to materialise, and other human rights violations.

“The National Guard, already in its formative stage, is disbanded with immediate effect . Decrees Number 2 and 46 are hereby abrogated . We wish to emphasise that this is not just another coup but a well- conceived, planned and executed revolution for the marginalised , oppressed and enslaved peoples of the
Middle Belt and the South .

“Our history is replete with numerous and uncontrollable instances of callous and insensitive , dominatory, repressive intrigues by those who think it is their birthright to dominate till eternity the political and economic privileges of this great country to the exclusion of the people of the Middle Belt and the South . They have almost succeeded in subjugating the
Middle Belt and making them voiceless and now extending (the) same to the South . ”

It’ s 30 years since Orkar and his men stormed the Dodan Barracks by 1 :40am . It ’s 54 years since Majors Chukwuma Nzeogu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna hatched Nigeria’s first coup on January 15 1966 , killing 22 people , including the Prime Minister, Tafawa Balewa . It ’ s 56 years since northern officers launched a ‘ July Rematch’ countercoup that killed the Head of State, General Aguiyi Ironsi, and many other
leaders .

However , not even during the military bloodiness did clannishness dominate governance as Nigeria is currently witnessing under the Muhammadu Buhari
presidency. This is the first time in the life of Nigeria when herdsmen will kill Middle Belt and southern Nigerian citizens while the Federal Government does absolutely nothing to check the ethnic cleansing . It ’ s
the first time the Federal Government will openly say herdsmen are right to kill and plunder if Middle Belt people and southerners do not give out their lands to
herdsmen for ruga. It’ s also the first time that all service chiefs and all paramilitary organisations, except two, are northerners.

World Bank President, Jim Yong Kim, disclosed in 2017 that Buhari urged the bank to concentrate development in the northern region of Nigeria . The non - appointment of an Igbo into the National
Defence Council and the National Security Council is in breach of Section 217 ( 3) of the constitution which says the composition of the Armed Forces must reflect federal character.

A 45-year-old man, Kolese Womiloju and his
25-year-old son, Taiwo Womiloju have been
arrested by the Ogun state police command for
reportedly killing a herdsman, Abubakar Sidi
Usman at Gbagba Elewure village in Odeda
Local Government Area of the state on April
22.

The father and son were arrested following a
missing person complaint filed by the elder
brother of the deceased Usman Bello, at the
Odeda Divisional Headquarters.

Usman's corpse was discovered in an
abandoned well in a nearby bush where he was
thrown into after a search party was
conducted. Deep matchet cuts were found on
the body of the deceased by detectives who
were led to the scene of the incident by DPO of
Odeda division, CSP Ajayi Williams.

An investigation into the case led to the arrest
of Kolese and Taiwo who confessed to killing
the deceased because they saw him grazing
his cows around their farm. They revealed that
they began beating the herdsman with a
charmed ring which got him unconscious after
he refused taking his cattle away from their
farm. They also macheted him to death before
dragging the corpse to an abandoned well.

Ogun State Police spokesperson, Abimbola
Oyeyemi said in a statement;

“Having confirmed that the deceased
was murdered in cold blood, the DPO
and his men commenced an
intelligence-based investigation into
the case which led to the arrest of a
father and his son who also live in the
same village with the victim in Ogun.

“On interrogation, they both confessed
to the killing of the deceased because
they saw him grazing his cows around
their farm. They stated further that the
deceased was warned to take his cattle
away from the area and when he
refused, he was beaten with a
charming ring which made him be
unconscious after which he was
macheted to death. He was then
dragged to an abandoned well about
one kilometre to the place and dumped
there."

Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP
Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered that the
suspects be transferred to the homicide section
of the state criminal investigation and
intelligence department for further investigation
and diligent prosecution.

A herbalist, Lajuwon Ogunleye, and his wife
Adetutu Apalaya have been arrested by the
Ogun State Police Command on charges of
conspiring and killing their 7-year-old son,
Pelumi Apalaya, PM News reports.

The couple were arrested alongside one Fatai
Sefiu, following their neighbours’ suspicion of
the little boy being used for ritual, as he
reportedly slumped and died without being
sick.

They were reportedly monitored by residents of
the community after they took the boy to the
bush for burial. It was gathered that some of
the body parts of the boy who was buried in a
“standing position,” were harvested by the
herbalist who is his stepfather, his mother, and
Sefiu who is his father’s friend.

According to the Ogun State Police
spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Divisional
Police Officer for Abigi Division, Tarkighir Joseph
led detectives to the bush in Iwopin area of
Ijebu waterside where the suspects were
rounded up.

Oyeyemi said; “The suspects led policemen to
where the victim was buried and it was
discovered that the deceased was buried in
standing position.

” On interrogation, the second suspect, Fatai
Sefiu, told the detectives that the boy was
actually used for ritual by the stepfather in
connivance with the deceased boy’s mother.”

He stated further that the couple have reached
a conclusion before he was co-opted into the
business.

“The mother of the victim Adetutu Apalaya who
first denied having knowledge of her husband’s
plan to use her son for ritual was dumbfounded
when asked whether or not she followed them
to the bush where her son was buried and the
mode of the burial of the boy.”

The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson,
has ordered a transfer of the case to the
homicide section of the State Criminal
Investigation and Intelligence Department
(SCIID) for further investigation and
prosecution.

A Nigerian man is being hailed as a "good
man" after he returned 100,000 Naira that
fell from a woman's bag while she was on a
bike in Anambra state.

Kimberly Ezeike narrated how he was driving
when he saw a bike rider speed past him
with a passenger. Almost immediately, a
nylon fell from the bike, and he said he
picked it up and noticed it was money.

The following day being a market day in his
town, he went to the market, making
enquiries about the bike guy, who then later
directed him to the woman who owns the
money.

He said the woman was so grateful that she
tried to reward him for his kindness but he
wouldn't accept any reward because he did it
for God.

Facebook users have left comments to praise
him and call him a good man.

Narrating what transpired, Kimberly wrote: "I
don't Know that people will still be careless
with money at this point of hunger and
poverty in Nigeria.

"Yesterday 20th April I was driving home in
my country-side, when a bike (okada man)
passed me, not up to a pole I saw a black
nilon that have a small opening, I then saw
few 1k note, I stopped and picked it up. Then
when I got home I opened it and counted it,
it was 100,000 naira.


"Because yesterday was my town's Market
day (Nkwo Igbo) and these women do not
know what is lockdown. Tho I do see the bike
man but don't really know his name,his
number or where he is from. I started looking
for him describing to people who I am looking
for, until someone who knows me gave me
his phone number.

"I called and ask him few questions he told
me that, the woman he was carrying at that
time, is his customer he called her (mama
Ebube or Mama Semi) that she deals on red
oil by gallons. He further said that she was
looking for her money and ordered him to
take her back to her town Ekwulobia, to
check if she left it there . I said to him to give
her my number. He said why? I told him that
I picked some money after they overtake me
in the morning and no one is coming from
front or back, so I guessed she is the owner.

"Not up to 5 minutes I started receiving calls
from different numbers. I told them to come
to Our Lady of Fatima Church and call me. In
less than 30 minutes she, her husband, 2 of
her neighbors and 2 more people came.

"So when I went there after much verification
questions again as I did on phone earlier, her
answers were very accurate on how the
money was kept and set by denominations, I
handed the money over to her, she busted in
tears and gave me 5k I said no do not worry.

She gave me the whole money and said,
"take how much you think that is good"...... I
said to her, please ma I do not need any
reward, what I did is for God.

She started shouting and singing and her
shouting started attracting passers by, I left.
"This is a very critical time for every common
Nigerian. But do not let the condition change
who you are or what you decide in life.

the father paying $21,000 as tuition fees in

Ugandan court in Kampala has convicted six
Chinese nationals for escaping from a hotel in
the country's capital where they had been
quarantined over the deadly Coronavirus.

According to the Daily Monitor, the group last
month escaped from a hotel in Kibuli and were
later arrested together with their Ugandan
driver and his wife in Zombo district on their
way to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Chinese nationals, Mr. Huang Haiguiang,
Mr. Li Chaochyan, Mr. Lin Xiaofang, Mr. Qin
Shening, Mr. Liang Xinging, and Mr. Huang Wei
on Tuesday, April 21 appeared before Chief
Magistrate Ruth Nabaasa before they pleaded
guilty of disobeying lawful orders, an act likely
to spread infection of disease contrary to
Section 171 of the Penal Code Act before
Nakawa Chief Ruth Nabaasa.

Prosecution led by Ms. Annette Namatovu
states that on the 19th day of March 2020 at
Kibuli Hotel Africa in Kampala that six Chinese
nationals unlawfully or negligently escaped
from self quarantined at the said hotel without
completing their fourteen mandatory days
against COVID-19 to Zombo district.

According to the court records, the six Chinese
arrived at Entebbe international airport aboard
Ethiopian Airlines on March 10, 2020, and had
been subjected to 14 days of self-quarantine
at Kibuli Hotel Africa but decided to defy the
orders of the Ministry of Health.

The group’s Ugandan driver, Abdu Matovu, 35
and his wife, Swabu Nassuuna, 27 denied the
charges.

The magistrate remanded the Chinese nationals
until May 4 when they will appear for
sentencing.

According to psychologist, there are three types of intelligence. Viz:

*Intelligence Quotient (IQ)*
*Emotional Quotient (EQ)*
*Social Quotient (SQ)*

1. *Intelligence Quotient (IQ)*: this is the measure of your comprehension ability", solve maths; memorize things and recall subject matters.

*2. Emotional Quotient (EQ)*: this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others; keep to time; be responsible; be honest; respect boundaries; be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. *Social Quotient (SQ):* this is the measure of your ability to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go farther in life than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize in improving IQ level while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your character; your SQ represents your charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs but more especially your EQ and SQ.

EQ and SQ make one manage better than the other.

Pls don't teach children only to be IQ but also to be EQ and SQ.

To parents.

Expose children to other areas of life than academic. They should adore manual work (never use work as a form of punishment), sport and art. Develop their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of the parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for the children.

Prepare the children for the road.
