Mike Ryan, the Executive director of the World Health Organization health emergency program, has said that just like HIV, the novel Coronavirus may never go away. HIV/AIDS was first clinically observed in 1981 in the United States and almost 40 years after, no vaccine or cure has been developed for the virus which has so far killed nearly a million people. Ryan while speaking in an online briefing today May 13, said the virus may just become one of the known viruses that kills people annually around the world. “This virus just may become another endemic virus in our communities and this virus may never go away. HIV hasn’t gone away. I’m not comparing the two diseases but I think it is important that we’re realistic. I don’t think anyone can predict when or if this disease will disappear. I think there are no promises in this and there are no dates. This disease may settle into a long problem, or it may not be” Ryan said https://www.thecable.ng/just-in-covid-19-may-never-go-away-says-who https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snA1RMr8RE4 |
A former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has described Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari as a Fulani priest whose forefathers stole the crown by killing a ruler of the ancient Oyo empire. In a scathing article, titled: "Enter The President's New Chief Of Staff", FFK wrote: "It is for this reason that they are often referred to by the sons and daughters of Oduduwa as 'mesu jamba' (meaning a "shifty, unreliable and treacherous" .To add to that, the saying goes "beware of the Gambaris and the descendants of Alimi"." Read the full article below: 200 years ago the Aare Kakanfo of the ancient Oyo Empire and the self-proclaimed Oba of Ilorin, Aare Afonja, rebelled against the Alaafin of Oyo and entered into a military alliance with a Fulani advisor, sorcerer and mercenary by the name of Alimi. Predictably Alimi betrayed him and he ended up being tortured, dethroned and murdered. Not only did Alimi and his Fulani warriors kill him but they also murdered all his sons in the most cruel and barbaric fashion. Alimi and his family took the throne for themselves and consequently the Oyo Empire, and by extension the Oduduwa nation, lost Ilorin to the Fulani and to the sons of Usman Dan Fodio. Ever since that day a Fulani Emir, from Alimi's "Gambari" family and lineage, armed with a flag and staff of authority from the Sultan of Sokoto, has ruled Ilorin. There is no gainsaying the fact that the Gambaris are trusted servants and bonded slaves of the Sokoto Caliphate. They see themselves as the guardians, protectors and defenders of the Caliphate's southern border and they serve and protect its traditions, its faith and its political and economic interests. This has been the case for the last 200 years. It is for this reason that they are often referred to by the sons and daughters of Oduduwa as 'mesu jamba' (meaning a "shifty, unreliable and treacherous" .To add to that, the saying goes "beware of the Gambaris and the descendants of Alimi". Enter Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, Buhari's new Chief of Staff and Nigeria's former representative at the United Nations. Contrary to popular belief and despite his second name, "Agboola", this man is NOT a son of the south west or an Oduduwan but a Fulani Prince from the Royal house in Ilorin. He is a descendant of Alimi. He is a Gambari. And to cap it all his brother, Emir Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu- Gambari, is the present Emir of Ilorin. His forefathers stole our sacred Oduduwan lands, took our throne, carved up and divided our Empire, enslaved our people and have persecuted our leaders in Ilorin for the last 200 years denying them of their most basic liberties and rights. And worse of all they have done this with the full blessing and support of the Sokoto Caliphate and the Sultan of Sokoto. Wlith the appointment of Gambari as the President's Chief of Staff, for the first time in our history, we have a Fulani President and a Fulani Chief of Staff both serving a Fulani Government with a Fulani agenda. This has never happened before and very soon the results will be self-evident. To make matters worse Gambari is himself a hardliner and he was Buhari's Foreign Minister in 1984 when the latter was military Head of State. He served a tyrant and a dictator before and he is serving a tyrant and a dictator again. And he served not just ANY tyrant and dictator but Nigeria's greatest military tyrant and dictator and now he is set to serve Nigeria's greatest civilian tyrant and dictator. I Unlike his predecessor in office the late Abba Kyari who was a Shuwa Arab, Gambari is a Fulani. His only interest throughout his distinguished career as a career diplomat was to do nothing but further and protect the interest and hegemonic agenda of the Caliphate in Nigeria and to justify and rationalise its greed, brutality, barbarity and excesses before the civilised world in various international fora. Now he has come to help estsblish and entrench Buhari's Islamisation and Fulanisation agenda. We welcome him and we will engage him in battle. Abba Kyari has gone. A hardline Islamic fundamentalist and Fulani irredentist has now taken over his job. Nigerians will see the difference. For those of us that have been in the struggle to liberate our people from the tyranny of Buhari for the last five years it is "game on" and "back to the trenches". The ceasefire is over and the war against ethnic and religious bondage and against injustice, subjugation, domination, nepotism, servitude and slavery has started again. May the best man win. https://www.tori.ng/news/146422/gambari-is-a-fulani-prince-his-forefathers-stole-o.html

Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Twitter has informed his employees that they can now work from home “forever” amid the Coronavirus pandemic. The 43-year-old CEO informed staff on Tuesday saying all in-person events would be cancelled as the company announced plans to adopt a permanent work-from-home structure amid the Coronavirus pandemic. Employees would receive a $1,000 allowance to equip themselves with the tools necessary to work-from-home, Mr. Dorsey said, adding that the office was unlikely to open before September. In a statement, Twitter said it was “one of the first companies to go to a WFH model in the face of COVID-19, but [doesn’t] anticipate being one of the first to return to offices.” The company said if employees are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home and they want to continue doing so “forever,” then “we will make that happen.” “If not, our offices will be their warm and welcoming selves, with some additional precautions, when we feel it’s safe to return,” the statement reads. The company said with very few exceptions, offices won’t open before September. It added when they do open it will be “careful, intentional, office by office and gradual.” It said there will also be no business travel before September “with very few exceptions” and no in-person company events for the rest of 2020. “We’re proud of the early action we took to protect the health of our employees and our communities. That will remain our top priority as we work through the unknowns of the coming months,” it said. Jennifer Christie, the head of human resources at Twitter, also told BuzzFeed News the company would “never probably be the same” as it began allowing employees to work-from-home during the initial months of the outbreak. “People who were reticent to work remotely will find that they really thrive that way,” she said at the time. “Managers who didn’t think they could manage teams that were remote will have a different perspective.” She added: “I do think we won’t go back.” https://eu.usatoday.com/story/tech/2020/05/12/twitter-work-from-home-forever/3118879001/

A 22-year -old mother , Oluwafunmilola Adisa , has been arrested for killing her daughter , Oluwanifemi, at their place of residence on Plot 221 Gowon Estate , in the Ipaja area of Lagos State . The incident, which happened on Monday , also saw the woman dropping a note for her sister , Damilola , chronicling how she perpetrated the crime . She blamed Oluwanifemi for the hardship she had been facing after she gave birth to her 21 months ago , adding that the daughter ’ s arrival cost her an admission to study law . In a bid to alleviate her suffering, Oluwafunmilola said she drowned her baby in a bucket of water , adding that after committing the crime , she went to the Gowon Estate Police Station to report herself. Explaining the events leading to the baby ’ s death, the Ogun State indigene stated , “ I turned myself in after killing my daughter on Monday , May 11, 2020. “ At first, I was thinking of strangling her, later I thought of suffocating her with a pillow, but my sister warned me to keep Oluwanifemi away from water after she had a dream and that gave me the idea of drowning her . “On the day of the incident, around 2pm, Oluwanifemi was assisting me to dress up, because she thought that I would take her out with me . But I told her that she was not going anywhere, because she would die that day and I would be going to the police station after killing her. So, I opened a big bucket of water , threw her in and covered the bucket, but she was able to push away the cover . “The water in the bucket was not much, so , I poured more water in it, but she was still able to push away the cover to breathe , so I turned her upside down , threw her in the bucket of water and closed it . “After some time, I saw her floating and when I brought her out , she was still breathing. I put her in again and brought her out after some time, but she was still breathing and at the third attempt, I left her for some minutes till she died . I didn ’ t feel any pain killing her , because I was desperate .” After perpetrating the crime , Oluwafunmilola stated that she wrote a letter to her sister , Damilola , to inform her that she had fulfilled the promise of killing her baby, adding that she took the action because of the shame the baby’ s birth had brought to her and aas a result of lack of money. She stated, “The reason for the drastic decision is lack of financial help ; I was tired and ashamed ; when I gained admission to study law at the Obafemi Awolowo University , Ile- Ife , Osun State , I got pregnant and deferred my admission, which I later lost . “So killing my baby and losing my admission have a connection . I felt I would be free if I kill her and would be able to go anywhere I like and no one would disturb me that I had a daughter outside wedlock . “After she died , I removed her from the bucket of water , placed her remains on a pillow and covered her with a white cloth . I confirmed that she was dead, because her legs and hands were very pale; her tongue also popped out in between her teeth . https://punchng.com/lagos-woman-drowns-daughter-in-bucket-of-water/ |

The Nigerian government's request for a subpoena on 10 US banks for information needed to prosecute government officials allegedly connected to British Virgin Island engineering firm, Process and Industrial Development (P&ID) alleged bribery scheme and subsequent $9.6 billion arbitral claim has been granted by a US Judge. The filings were done by Alexander Pencu, a partner of Meister Seelig & Fein LLP, attorneys for the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice of Nigeria. The affected banks were listed as follows; “Citibank, N.A. (“Citibank”) , Allied Irish Banks plc (“Allied Irish”), HSBC Bank USA (“HSBC”), Standard New York, Inc. (“Standard New York”), Deutsche Bank Trust Co. Americas (“Deutsche Bank”), J.P. Morgan Chase (“JPMorgan”), United Bank for Africa (“UBA”), Bank of Cyprus, Fortis Private Banking Singapore Limited (“Fortis”), and Standard Chartered International (USA) Ltd. (‘Standard Chartered”). New York federal judge, Lorna Schofield who granted the request asked the affected banks to allow the Nigerian government access the information they need to prove their case. Former political office holders whose accounts are expected to be accessed by the Nigerian government include former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Faka Jonathan; former oil minister who is now late, Rilwanu Lukman; Diezani Alison- Madueke, a former petroleum minister during the tenure of Mr Jonathan; and Allison Amaechina Madueke; former attorney general and minister of justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke. Others named in the subpoena are Taofiq Tijani; Grace Taiga; Mohammad Kuchazi; one Michael Quinn, who died in 2014; James Nolan; Adam Quinn; and Ibrahim Dikko. It is also speculated that some officials of the banks might testify in the case. Nigeria’s chances of overturning the $9.6 billion arbitration award lie on proving the 2010 gas supply arrangement was a sham designed to fail by P&ID and government officials. This is however coming after former President Goodluck Jonathan denied having an account or property abroad. https://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2020/5/us-judge-grants-fgs-request-to-access-bank-records-of-former-president-goodluck-jonathan-diezani-and-others.html |
