Former Minister of Information, Prince Tony Momoh, has wondered why Nigerians don’t address the Igbos as armed robbers, Yorubas as 419ers but paint Fulanis as killers. Momoh further claimed that armed herdsmen that were killing and maiming Nigerians were not from the country.

The former Minister warned against attributing killings to Fulani herdsmen, adding that the whole thing had been highly politicised. In an interview with Sun News, Momoh claimed that the killings were being perpetrated by criminals from Mali and Libya and not Fulani herdsmen.

In his words;

“Killings are activities that the government did not envisage but the killings are a challenge to everybody. So, everybody should be blamed for the killings.

“Communication resolves everything. How much communication is there? And if there are no instruments of communicating, we must establish them rather than buying the weapons of war. "But let me tell you and I am saying it with all sense of responsibility. Many people are playing politics with the killings. They are initiating a particular pattern of belief, which would undermine the credibility of their group in future.

“We had the Biafran war in 1967 -1970 and the South East held Nigeria to a standstill before it ended. So, nobody could undermine the Nigerian/Biafran war. Now, the issue of militancy confronted this country and reduced our oil production to less than one million barrels per day.

“Nobody can undermine the works the militants did in the Niger Delta. The National Democratic Coalition(NADECO) confronted Nigeria peacefully after the annulment of the 1993 election and in spite of what you may think, there was no coup in Nigeria that was resisted that ever succeeded.

“The 1993 annulment of the election of MKO Abiola was resisted through the activities of NADECO and so on and so forth, and that was how the compromises of 1999 brought in former President Olusegun Obasanjo from the South West zone of the country.

“From what I said now, you cannot undermine the Niger Delta, you cannot undermine the Igbo and you cannot undermine the Yoruba. And when the problem of the Fulani caliphate was there, they discovered that they could not undermine the Kanuri and the Tivs.

“But do you know what we are doing now because of politics? Anything that happens now, we say it is the Fulani herdsmen whereas it is since the collapse of the Libyan army and the problem in Mali that caused the free flow of weapons into Nigeria especially the activities of Boko Haram.

“And instead of looking at the challenges confronting Nigeria, we are saying that it is the herdsmen that are doing it. Cattle rustlers also seize the cattle and kill the herdsmen which is another issue confronting Nigeria but we in Nigeria because of politics always say killings are by the Fulani herdsmen.

“Do you know that what Othman Dan Fodio could not achieve when he was quoted as having said that he would dip the Quoran in the sea is being achieved through stupid politicking by saying that everything that happens in Nigeria is by the Fulani herdsmen?

“Anywhere you go to, people would say we cannot go to farm because of the Fulani herdsmen. This is when as a matter of fact, the Fulani herdsmen are in more danger than any other Nigerian. Do we talk of Igbo armed robbers?

“Do we talk of Yoruba 419ers and so on? We talk of all these as crimes and we should be talking of the killings as also a crime.

“But because of politics, we are going into areas to make our children believe that the fear of Fulani herdsmen is the beginning of wisdom.

“So, what Othman Dan Fodio could not achieve when he was alive in Nigeria, we are achieving it through communication and making our own children afraid of the Fulani. Remember that the Fulani are in the minority in this country.

“Can you see the way we are moving in the way of deforestation and who would pay for it; our children. We must have the right communication. So, I want to say that criminals do the killings and we must all come together to fight it.”

Suffice it to say, some people don't deserve to be allowed to talk in the public because when hear their utterances, you can actually feel your IQ dropping. How can someone that claim to have a standing in the society spew this kind of jaggon "comparism'? Why do we as a country give clowns minister of information? UEFA Champions League Quarter Final Draw: Liverpool Face Manchester City - Full Draw

It seems only one Premier League club will survive to UEFA Champions League Semi Finals as Premier League leaders Manchester City have been drawn against English rivals Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Anfield will host the first leg of the quarter-final tie, which will be played on April 3 or 4 with the second leg to be held on April 10 or 11. The two English clubs have already played each other twice in the Premier League this season.

Elsewhere in Friday's quarter-final draw, holders Real Madrid were handed a tie against Italian giants Juventus, who beat Tottenham in the last round.

La Liga leaders Barcelona will play Roma, while the reward for Sevilla's victory over Manchester United was a date against Bayern Munich of Germany.

Women can be evil at times and their wickedness is baffling. Lagos State Police Command has arrested a fashion designer, Bisi Olukayode, for allegedly torturing her maid, Anjuah Sunday, aka Titi, at her residence in the Lekki area of the state. PUNCH Metro learnt that Sunday had been living with the suspect at her residence in Lekki Gardens Estate Phase 3, for two years.


The Togolese, who arrived in Lagos with her grandmother, was allegedly renamed Titi and handed over to the Olukayodes by an agent.It was alleged that Bisi tortured the 14-year-old with sticks, wire and canes, during which the victim sustained injuries in different parts of her body. Bisi allegedly usually locked up Sunday in a toilet anytime she (Bisi) was going out.

Some residents, whom the victim reportedly begged for food through the window of the toilet, alerted officials of the Office of the Public Defender. A social worker at the OPD told punch correspondent that the agency visited the estate on Tuesday with a view to rescuing the victim. She said the officials first reported at the Adeniji Adele Police Station and got police back up for the operation.

“We got there round 10am. The estate security guards cooperated with us after we told them our mission. We, however, discovered that the suspect’s house was locked; though we suspected that the woman and the girl were inside the house. We called her telephone number and told her we had come to see her about the girl. She immediately switched off the phone and refused to talk. “We didn’t leave until around 3pm because we learnt that the husband usually brought the children from school around that time. When we didn’t see him, we called him as well, but his phone rang out,” she added.

She noted that while the rescue team was leaving the estate, the security men were asked not to allow the couple sneak out with the maid.

Around 7pm, the suspect’s husband was said to have returned into the estate with the children in a cab. The husband reportedly asked the cab driver to switch off the vehicle’s inner light, as he took their three children into the house.

Newly Installed Pedestrian Bridge In Florida Collapses, Killing Scores & Injuring Many - Photos

Scores of people were killed when a newly-installed pedestrian bridge collapsed at Florida International University, falling over a six-lane highway in the Miami area. The 950-tonne bridge fell at the university's main Miami-area campus, crushing cars underneath it. It is believed that section of the bridge was installed last Sunday.

A fire and rescue spokesman said more than 100 firefighters, search and rescue teams and live search dogs were combing the wreckage of the bridge for "viable victims".

Eight cars were trapped when the bridge collapsed about 1.30pm local time (4.30am AEDT) and at least 10 people were taken to hospital, two in critical condition. Florida congressman Carlos Curbelo said he had been told a stress test was underway when the bridge collapsed.

"There was some testing taking place, and it is a very good question that must be answered - why more precautions weren't taken before conducting this type of stress test if indeed that was the case," he said.

Rescue teams would be working into the night and perhaps longer to try to find any survivors. They would not confirm how many victims there were, but Florida Senator Bill Nelson said on Fox News he had been told several people had died.

"Our teams are in search and rescue mode, they are still searching the debris," said a Miami Dade fire department spokesman.

When asked if there were any survivors trapped beneath the debris, a fire spokesman said: "We don't know at this point. We are still in search and rescue mode."

Two of the eight victims taken to hospital were construction workers who had been on top of the bridge when it collapsed.

Lady Stands By Her Boyfriend Even When Tumor & Cancer Has Disfigured His Face - Very Graphic

A Thailand (Thai) woman have shown what it means to love and have also redefined what it means to love someone unconditionally as she stands by her cancer-striken boyfriend. This is a rare thing to see this days in the world, especially in Nigeria because, believe it or not, love in naija is just "interest".

The boyfriend, Pooh Chokchai Kaew suffers from a form of life-threatening eye cancer, which began as a rare but treatable cancer called retinoblastoma - but has since spread across his face. Despite the fact that doctors believe there is no way to treat the very advanced, end-stage cancer, the 21-year-old has an extremely supportive girlfriend who says they'll 'never give up'.

Pooh's girlfriend, Atittaya Chumkeaw, took to social media to share a photo of her and her boyfriend in celebration of their anniversary. The post was then shared by a group called True Buddhism, which captioned it:

"The young man is suffering from end-stage cancer that has spread throughout his face. "The family revealed doctors have no treatment, with radiotherapy or chemotherapy but the young man still hopes for a miracle and the tumour will disappear.

"This post is not to give false hope to cancer patients. I admire the girl who's standing by her partner. Fans say the love she gives to her boyfriend is the best thing she can offer. It may even cause miracles to happen." People were quick to not only praise the couple for their admirable strength in the face of such adversity, but also to tell them to remain hopeful.

One person wrote:

"I believe this is a wonderful way for Heaven and Earth to make miracles happen."

Another said:

"Keep fighting, both of you."

According to the NHS website, retinoblastoma is usually found among young children, with symptoms including an usual white reflection in the pupil, a squint, a change in the colour of the iris, a red or inflamed eye and poor vision. The cancer can often be successfully treated, but only if it is diagnosed at an early stage.

Writing on Facebook last year, Atittaya said:

"We'll hold hands and walk beside each other forever. We'll be rooting for each other forever. We're not going to let go.

"We'll make our future together. We'll have a better life.

"We're ready for everything. We'll never give up. We're gonna get married together."
In another post, she wrote that the love she chose may not be a dream, but it is a 'happy love'.

Nigerian man, Evangelist Igg who resides in Italy has reportedly been killed by his girlfriend after a fight in the nightclub. It was revealed that he was brutally stabbed to death by his girlfriend, while the duo were fighting at the club.

He died shortly after the incident as he was not given any first aid treatment while he languished in his pains. Reports suggest the duo had been having slight disagreements that evening before they entered into the club.

Former PDP chieftain, who is now All Progressives Congress, APC, stalwart and former governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, who also is an ardent lover of Buahri's administration, has challenged President Buhari to arrest and prosecute former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to prove his seriousness on his anti-corruption war in Nigeria.

Dr. Uzor Kalu said President Buhari should be bold enough to prove that he has gotten the guts expected of him to salvage Nigeria from bad governance by arresting former President Olusegun Obasanjo for taking away $16 billion fund meant for power under his regime, insisting that unless Obasanjo is arrested, the administration will not be considered to be fighting corruption.

Dr. Uzor Kanu challenged the president at the quarterly public lecture series of National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO, with the theme: Culture, Economy and Good Governance: The Nigerian Experience held in Abuja.

In his words;

“My prosecution is political. Our accounts in Abia state were transparent under my watch. The US knows, the UK knows. I have been given a red carpet in these two countries. I have been given a red carpet in China. In fact, I am stronger to fight corruption than President Buhari because he is not fighting it well.

“I have recovered peoples’ money and given them back. I am a creator of wealth at every level. If any court finds me to be corrupt, it should jail me. Corruption is the bane of this country. "A corrupt judge and corrupt politician is worst than armed robber. "Nigerians should start electing presidents that have meaning and guts to take decisions.

“President Buhari has got some guts but he should arrest Obasanjo for us to know that corruption fight is working. "Without arresting Obasanjo, he has not started fighting corruption because Obasanjo took away our $16million electricity money. So, unless he arrests Obasanjo, corruption is not being fought in Nigeria.”

Mrs Elizabeth-Mary Shuluwa, a former Permanent Secretary in Benue state, reportedly delivered the message during the president’s meeting with stakeholders in the state over the series of attacks in the region by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

The message have since gone viral and everybody ia talking about it. Below is her full statement:

“Mr. President, I stand here today to talk on behalf of the women, children and the aged of Benue state. Ours is a cry Mr. President that we have cried since the eve of New Year, the black New Year in Benue state 2018. On that day Mr. President, your mothers and women and daughters and children and the aged of Benue State woke up to a horrendous news, news of maiming and killings by marauding herdsmen and they just didn’t kill the men that were like them, they killed my sisters, pregnant women, defenseless old men and Mr. President if you were not a soldier I would have said you are in that category because you are also in your seventies and we categorize them as old sir. They were among those killed, butchered, their eyes gouged out. Mr President, we cried, we wailed.

As I speak on behalf of my sisters, the women, children and the aged of Benue state, I do not have that watery substance that comes out when you cry anymore because we have cried. For two and a half months, we have been crying. No day goes by without you hearing that they are bringing dead people from Logo, from Guma, from Okpokwu, from Kwande, from Katsina Ala, from the outskirt of Makurdi Local Government and the list continues sir and we are the ones who cry. We have shouted, we have wailed but of course now we dont have the watery substance to come out so that you can see our unhappiness and displeasure.

I know that you were a military man now you are our father in a civilian arrangement. I hear that military personnel even in war, by their terms of engagement, they dont kill women, they dont kill children and definitely they dont kill defenseless old people.

Thank you sir for coming, like Mary said to Jesus when he came to their home at the death of her brother Lazarus, she said my Lord, if you were here, my brother would not have died. I know that Mr. President you are the father of Nigeria, you are the father of all Nigerian citizens. Today that you are here, I will say to you directly sir that if you were here this genocide that has taken place in Benue state on New Year day wouldn’t have occurred.

Lastly, I want to just tell you one more thing that made me cry this morning as I was coming to the Peoples House. I saw scores of soldiers, policemen, civil defence personnel and other paramilitary agencies standing all over Makurdi and I said to myself if these people as they are today were in Guma, in Okpokwu, in Agatu, in Kwande, in Logo, in Katsina Ala and in other places, would the genocide have taken place? It wouldn’t have taken place.

On behalf of the women, mothers and children of Benue state, the seeming silence and insensitivity made us to cry more and more. I know that we may not cry anymore now that you are here Mr President.

In a world were everybody sees sex in everything, things are indeed getting out of hand. I was in a long-term relationship for about six years. We had a pretty racy $ex life – we’d had a few threesomes, we weren’t shy about $ex in public places, and we’d tried all kinds of role play. While our $ex life was great, our relationship ran its course. I had retrained a few years earlier and gone from working in retail just to earn money to working in a higher-stress industry that I really love.

My partner was still working just for the paycheck, so we had different mindsets.I also started spending more time with work friends, and he just wasn’t that interested in our conversations, so we spent less and less time together. 32-year-old female banker and mother of two, identified as Mrs. Peace Uzezi Akpobaro, committed suicide over her husband’s alleged infidelity at their residence in Ughelli, Delta State, Nigeria.

Why a wife should commit suicide over husband's infidelity still baffles me. Sources in the area said the husband to the late Mrs Akpobaro had brought home his mistress to be staying with them under one roof, a situation that made the wife took her life.

I know marriages are very rough this days and almost 80% of marriages have one challenge or the other according to statistics. But this is not a criteria to take one's life. Rather, please see an expert for advise.

More than 16 people were killed and dozens more injured after lightning struck a Seventh-Day Adventist church in Rwanda, a local official reports.

Reports said 14 victims were killed on the spot as lightning hit the church in the Nyaruguru district in the Southern Province on Saturday, local mayor Habitegeko Francois told AFP over the phone. Two others died later from their injuries, he said.

He added that 140 people involved in the incident had been rushed to hospital and district health centres, but that many had already been discharged. "Doctors say that only three of them are in critical condition but they are getting better,”.

According to the mayor, a similar accident took place on Friday when lightning struck a group of 18 students, killing one of them.

Lightning strikes are frequent across Rwanda, which has many hills and mountains, and the country’s police record a number of human and livestock deaths each year.

Lightning killed 30 people, injured 61 and killed 48 livestock in 2016, the most recent year with full figures, according to Rwanda’s Ministry of Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs.
