Airplane Carrying 66 Passengers Crashes In Central Iran - All Passengers Dead

Iranian passenger plane operated by Aseman, carrying 66 people has crashed in central Iran during a flight from Tehran to Yasuj, according to Iranian news media report. The crash occurred few hours ago.

A spokesperson for Iran Aseman Airlines told state TV that Sunday's air crash killed all 66 people on board though rescuers are yet to get to the crash site.

According to Aljazera News, the plane went down in a mountainous area near the town of Semirom, the news agency ISNA quoted Mojtaba Khaledi, emergency services spokesperson, as saying. The Iranian Red Crescent said it had deployed to the area, which was quite foggy at the time of the crash.

State-run PressTV said the Iran Aseman Airlines flight was carrying 60 passengers and six crew members. Iran Aseman Airlines is a semi-private air carrier headquartered in Tehran that specialises in flights to remote airfields across the country and also flies internationally.

The ATR-72, a twin-engine turboprop, is used for short-distance regional flying. Authorities said they would be investigating the cause of the air crash though some Iranian risk analyst are proposing mechanical problem as the plane is said to have lost contact with the tower 20mins after takeoff.

The truth is, as long as you are a leader, you must have bereaved followers. Being a leader means being selfless regardless of what a set or group of people thinks about you or your administrative strategy. Many have criticized President Muhammadu Buhari and his leadership style but the truth is, facts don't lie. And no matter how you look at it, he is better than any president PDP has ever produced.

Lets forget about sentiments for once, I know asking that from Nigerians is asking too much but nevertheless, facts has to sift into out minds. President Buhari as a leader has his own flaws which is understandable and one of them being the soft spot he have for Fulani Herdsmen and on the herdsmen issue that is threatening to tear Nigeria apart, but that doesn't necessarily mean he is bad in all ramification.

Truth be told, no Nigerian leader has been loved totally by Nigerians. They almost always have one thing or the other against any incumbent leader. If its not ethnicity related, its religious issues or lopsided appointment issues or lack of awarding dubious contracts to some interested party. We always have a reason to hate our leaders. This is the fact. But when you look at president Buhari's achievement since 3 years in office, you will have nothing but admiration for this man as Mr. President has no other thing for this country but love.

Below is 30 glaring and undeniable achievement of Mr. President. You can add yours..

1 His ZERO tolerance for corruption

2. PMB stopped over N2trillion subsidy payments to the almighty cabals.

3. He stopped the payment of over N30b monthly salaries to 50,000 national ghost workers.

4. He withdrew the license of rice, salt, sugar etc from one individual and spread the license to various interested group of people so as to stop the issue of monopoly.

5. He ordered the enforcement of BVN in the banking industry which stopped the illicit fraud perpetrated by private and public officials.

6. He ordered the enforcement of TSA where a single government parastatal operated over 43 accounts siphoning funds without remittance to the Federation Account.

7. He ordered the enforcement of payment and salaries of National Assembly members to be done through TSA.

8. He stopped the importation of rice from Thailand which our leaders used to siphon billions of naira yearly.

9. He blocked all the loop holes in the public sectors even though some avaricious Nigerians still cut their ways through sometimes.

10. He exposed the corrupt practices in the judiciary.

11. He did same thing in the National Assembly.

12. He exposed them all in the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Army, Navy, Air force and prosecuted the corrupt officials involved.

13. He exposed Patience Jonathan N13b looted fund, N15b, N11b worth of hotel in Bayelsa, N2.5b laundered funds to her housemaids.

14. He exposed Ikoyi's gate N13b NIA funds.

15. He exposed N4.7b Ekiti election fraud given to Fayose by Obanikoro

16. He exposed the $2.1b insurgency funds shared among Femi Fani Kayode, Olisah metuh, Bafarawa, Nduka Obaigbena, Raymond Dokpesi and others.

27. He refused to give up on Nigeria and Nigerians even when they have given up on themselves.

28. During Jonathan era and government before him, JAMB was only able to remit N300m in 4 years while in Buhari's era JAMB has already remitted N6b in 2 years.

29. Still same JAMB is being prosecuted as Snakes are now swallowing N36m in their office and another N38m fraud has been uncovered from their Edo, Zamfar offices.

30. During Jonathan and other government era, customs has been to remitting less than N3b in a year while that same custom is remitting more than N30b in a year now.

Considering the above points and facts, it is normal for people to hate him and wish him dead. But you need to ask yourself, "why am I wishing this fine man dead"? Is it because he is doing his job wonderfully well or because of the foolish reports those criminal, egocentric cabal and self righteous politicians put out their.

Ask me to pick between Buhari, Atiku, Kwankwaso, Jonathan, I will pick Buhari as my preferred candidate, any day anytime.

The Parish Priest in charge of St Sylvester Catholic Church, New Nyanya, Nasarawa State, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Soja-Anyembugu in his goodwill has sponsored the wedding of 136 couples within two weeks.

Father Soja-Anyembugu, announced this to newsmen on Saturday during the marriage matrimony of 83 couples in commemoration of his 10th priestly anniversary in St Patrick Catholic Church, Akwanga, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state.

According to him, the step will also enable those who did not marry in the church to receive the sacrament of holy matrimony and to get their marriage blessed.

“I have decided to celebrate my 10th priestly anniversary to sponsored mass wedding for people who indicated their interest to have their marriage blessed in the church. "As at Feb. 3, I have sponsored 53 couples in St Sylvester Catholic Church, New Nyanya.

“Today, I have sponsored 83 couples making a total of 136 couples to enable them get the sacrament of holy matrimony as well as to give them a sense of belonging,” he said.

The priest called on the couples to continue to be patient, tolerate one another for them to have a peaceful home, adding that marriage is all about endurance and patience. "The importance of church marriage cannot be over-emphasised as it will promote peace among the couples and also enable them to get more blessings and God’s favour.”

Soja-Anyembugu, called on the couples and other Nigerians to live exemplary lives by inculcating moral values in their children and for the overall development of the country.

He also advised Christians and other Nigerians against engaging in unruly behaviours and other sharp practices, so that they can inherit the kingdom of heaven. The cleric called on the members of the church and Nigerians to be law abiding and respect constituted authorities and engage in activities that would promote peace and unity of the country.

Earlier, Prof. Cletus Tanimu Gotan, the Vicar General, Jos Archdiocese, who is also the guest preacher at the occasion called on the couples to live peacefully with each other in order to inherit the kingdom of God. He quoted many verses in the bible that preached love, affection, calling on the couples and Nigerians to show love and live in unity with one another in the interest of development.

News Agency of Nigeria reports that the wedding ceremony was attended by many well wishers including the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs. Mary Enwongulu, politicians, priests, traditional and religion leaders among others.

Breaking News: Plane Crash Averted At Akure Airport As Air Peace Aborts Landing Due To Cows Taken Over The Runway


What kind of country is this? Sorry guys, I needed to ask this question. How can herdsmen cross the perimeters of an airport with their cows knowing fully well that it will cause a major crash if anything ever happened. This is outrageous.

According to Wazobia news, several air passengers escaped death in Akure, Ondo State yesterday as cows took over the runway of the Akure Airport and prevented an Air Peace plane from landing. It took combined efforts of the airport security men and other aviation staff to clear the runway of the cows before the aircraft registration number 5NBQQ to land more than 20 minutes after.

The pilot, Captain Williams Inyang was said to have contemplated a return to Lagos when it was taking longer than necessary for the runway to be cleared by the airport security.

Palpable fear had enveloped the passengers, who initially thought the pilot deliberately aborted landing, while the pilot had to hover close to 20 minutes.

According to them;

Today was not the first time a major airport runway was invaded by cows. The Port Harcourt International Airport runway was sometime ago invaded by cows and an approaching Air France plane collided with some of the cows. The expertise of the pilot saved what would have been a tragic incident as the plane was only slightly damaged with passengers suffering shock.

Also, on November 10, 2016, a fully-loaded plane of Air Peace had to abort landing at Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri, when the pilot discovered that the runway had been invaded by cows.

The former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s visit to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday, has raised concerns among Nigerians on social media and most have expressed their feeling owing to the fact that they don't know what to think.

Chief Obasanjo visited Jonathan in his country home, Otuoke, Bayelsa State during his two-day visit to the state. Although reason for his visit was not stated, some Nigerians are saying the meeting is related to the forthcoming 2019 election and plans to oust the All Progressives Congress, APC, government.

APC issued warning to Jonathan to be wary of Obasanjo’s moves, querying why Obasanjo who made him lose the 2015 election should be welcomed.

I keep wondering why a Nigerian will bring out more than N49m to buy a car and will refuse to pay custom duty. This is outrageous and I propose that any car seized because of this should be impounded forever.

In a press statement released on Friday, the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS announced some major breakthrough in its operations carried out by its men in the Idiroko axis of the Ogun area command with a series of seizures including luxury cars, rice, vegetable oil and other smuggled items.

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Idiroko Axis of Ogun Area Command at this propitious time when we have set the ball rolling in our quest to mitigate the menace of smuggling to the best of our ability.

On the 7th February, 2018 between 0800-0900hours while on routine patrol along Ibeji River arroud – Idogo – Ifoyintedo axis of the Command, my Officers intercepted a Toyota Highlander (2014) suspected to have been smuggled into Nigeria. In the process, an Officer received a life threatening injury from smugglers on his arm and fingers, although he is responding to treatment. Full scale investigation is ongoing to ensure that such mindless, irresponsible and unpatriotic criminals are brought to book to face the full wrath of the law.

However, Officers will continue to exercise their functions in line with the rules of engagement with caution, but will respond appropriately on armed smugglers and economic saboteurs in a life threatening encounter.

The above event is pointer to the fact that the media, traditional rulers and eminent personalities should play a greater role in exposing the grave danger Customs Officers face in the discharge of their duties, especially in Ogun state and also to discourage the activities of their wards that indulge in smuggling and perceive such as a legitimate way of livelihood.

It is pertinent to inform you that, within the last two weeks, we have sustained the tempo promised in our anti smuggling drive. During the period under review, the tireless efforts by the Officers and Men of the Command yielded a total, 13 Tokunbo vehicles, 12 means of conveyance, 21 motorcycles, 1, 168 bags of foreign rice (50 kg each), 221 kegs of vegetable oil (25liters each), 5 sacks secondhand shoes and 2 sacks of secondhand bags with a total Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N153, 858, 579, 153.00. at Idiroko axis of Ogun Area Command. Most spectacular among the seizures is a brand new Range Rover (velar) 2018 model seized and tagged “the seizure of the month”. The said vehicle has a DPV of N51, 285, 154.

Finally, despite the aforementioned event and given the tottering nature of the operational environment, we will not relent, we will continue to stand firm and resolute in discharging the statutory responsibilities bestowed upon us as a Service with dedication, selflessness and uncompromising commitment.

The Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai has come under attack and criticism over a picture of him kneeling to greet President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday on his visit to Kaduna State.

The picture was shared by Buhari’s Personal Assistant on News Media, Ahmad Bashir on his twitter page during Buhari’s visit to Kaduna to commission the surveillance aircraft, a Made-in-Nigeria project called NAFSA Eagle by the Nigeria Airforce. Bashir Ahmad alongside the picture described El-Rufai’s gesture to the president as a sign of respect.

Is it a sign of respect or sucking up to the president?
Anyway, some Nigerians seem not to see it that way, as they accused El-Rufai of eye service and hypocrisy. I think he also did this to former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice president Atiku Abubakar and yet he betrayed all of them. Even OBJ said and I quote "El-Rufai is an unrepentant liar and a cameleon. Buhari should be mindful of this guy.
