A newly married Chinese couple has been making waves on the internet for their unorthodox match- she is a wealthy 38-year-old mother of one, and he is a 23-year-old whose mother is only a year older than his bride. The wedding, which was filmed on Jan. 10, took place in Qionghai, Hainan, China, where it first went viral and stirred up controversy. The woman apparently fell pregnant after a romance with the younger man, after which he proposed marriage. Initially, the groom’s parents opposed the wedding, citing the 15 year age difference between them, as well as the bride’s 14-year-old child from a previous marriage. However, the bride – a wealthy real estate businesswoman – offered them a dowry of 660,000 yuan (USD 104,273) in cash, a real estate lot, and a Ferrari sports car, altogether worth an estimated a 5,000,000 yuan (USD 789,950). The parents gave their blessing immediately following the generous offer. They married in an extravagant ceremony, arriving in a red Ferrari with the bride bedecked in gold and other expensive jewelry. Chinese netizens have had mixed reactions to the union, with many congratulating the pair, but some claiming the young man only married the woman for her money rather than love. “I once again believe in the power of money,” wrote one Weibo user. “Father: Our boy’s bride is loaded, let’s accept the deal to cash in!” wrote another. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the argument, some pointed out that the story going viral only highlights how far China has to go to achieve gender equality. “A 38-year-old divorced man marrying a 23-year-old single woman would not even be news. This is only making a fuss about women becoming stronger,”commented a Weibo user. In the video footage from the couple’s wedding, they both appear elated and very much in love. The bride is heavily pregnant but looks radiant in her white gown, and her husband is all smiles. In one particularly sweet moment, the groom dedicated a song to his bride, serenading her as she blushed and giggled. The Weibo user pointing out gender equality has a good point, considering that if the roles were reversed in the story, a wealthy divorced older man marrying a younger woman, it wouldn’t have made the news as it happens commonly and frequently. It is worth noting that the man proposed to the woman, not the reverse, and it was only after the parents disapproved that the dowry came into the picture. That netizens are reacting negatively to an economically powerful woman in such a negative way just goes to show how threatening a woman with power is to a traditionally patriarchal society. If I'm INEC, I Would Have De-registered APC - APC BoT Member, Engr. Buba Galadima Slams Party According to one OF the All Progressive Congress, APC Board of Trusty, BoT member, Engr. Buba Galadima, APC is not a party as it stands now and has done everything to prove that. He said he would have de-registered APC if his INEC. He made this statement during his chat with Gbenga of AIT on the platform "Focus Nigeria" when asked "why is APC, Kaduna chapter becoming enemy of themselves". He is a card carrying member of APC but according to the BoT member, he is baffled as to how President Muhammadu Buhari has let the country down by keeping quiet in all the happenings around Nigeria. Engr. Buba Galadima is a Nigerian politician who was appointed National Secretary of the former Congress for Progressive Change party, formed in the run-up to the 2011 national elections as a leading platform for former military ruler General Muhammadu Buhari which later merged with AC and others in 2015 to become APC. He also said he has been a politicians for almost 15 years and has been in the forefront of educating the citizenry on how good it will be if a Northerner is elected as president. Venting his disappoint in Buhari once more, he said and I quote "since the advent of Buhari, APC has not been a party and has never followed their own internal rules and regulations" Commenting on Obasanjo's letter, he said it couldn't have come at a better time. He urged the president to either resign or at least see through his tenure and allow other Nigerian to contest and get the economy running since he is a shadow of himself and that people (cabals) are running his government for him. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/01/if-im-inec-i-would-have-de-registered.html

The letter OBJ wrote to current Nigeria President has been gathering waves and have gone viral already since it was released yesterday. Host of politicians have also reacted to the letter and many thought is wise while some asked Obasanjo to look in the mirror. First Republic Minister, Chief Mbazulike Amechi, while speaking with Vanguard on Tuesday concured with former President Olusegun Obasanjo statement where he advised President Muhammadu Buhari not contest the 2019 presidential election, saying that it was no longer in doubt that Buhari’s policies were favouring a section of the country, which was not good for the unity of the country. Amaechi said: “I had consistently said it that Buhari should not run and I therefore align myself with the position of former President Obasanjo. Buhari is imposing his person on Nigeria and this is capable of destroying the country. From the point of view of health, the president can no longer cope with the demands of his high office.” Also reacting to Obasanjo’s call, the leader of a coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Anambra State, Chief Chris Azor observed that the president has not been well, adding that he therefore needed to watch his health without the distractions of governance. “He should take the honourable decision by not presenting himself for another election. But he can bring out a younger person who understands the politics of Nigeria to run. This country is too big and Buhari can no longer cope with the demands of the high office. So, I align myself with the view expressed by Obasanjo,” Azor said. A human rights activist, Comrade Obi Ochije said Nigeria needed a president that understood how to tackle the numerous problems facing her. “Obasanjo has aired his personal opinion and it is left for Buhari and his party to decide. But my personal view is that he should not run because he does not care about the problems facing the country. If APC insists on fielding Buhari, other political parties with better candidates will easily take over power from the party in 2019,” Ochije said. A community leader, Anthony Okafor said Buhari should not run because of his health and age, adding, however, that the problem of Buhari not running was that there would be the likelihood of the North staying in power for another eight years, thereby denying the South East the opportunity to produce the president of Nigeria in 2023. The movement of BBOG today took another twist as Oby Ezekwesili, the convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) advocacy group was arrested and taken into false imprisonment by officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Ezekwesili and some other demonstrators began the BBOG movement in 2014 to demand the release of 276 schoolgirls who were kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State. Together, the group has continued to pressure the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to secure the release of the girls. This, however, has not been without several attacks from the security agencies, especially the Police, from mounting roadblocks at the entrance to the Aso Rock Villa to obstructing members from a peaceful march. According to Pulse News, Members of the BBOG who arrived the popular Unity Fountain, takeoff venue for the march to the Villa, met a group of anti-riot Police officers. The BBOG members were prevented from commencing their planned march to the Villa. Ezewkesili tweeted below... "President Muhammadu Buhari, members of our BBOG Movement HAVE BEEN ARRESTED BY OUR IG of Police. WE ARE ALL WAITING TO BE ARRESTED SINCE it has become an OFFENSE to DEMAND THAT YOU KEEP YOUR PROMISE TO RESCUE ALL OUR CHIBOKGIRLS," Ezekwesili tweeted. While speaking to Pulse on Tuesday, co-convener of the advocacy group, Aisha Yesufu, said the Police did not give any reason for their arrest. "We are at the FCT command," Yesufu said angrily. "The Police arrested us and we are here right now and they are not allowing us to go. They have not told us the reason for our arrest but they are not telling us anything. "They just arrested us because they can and they have kept us here like criminals. We're between 15 and 20 members here and there's no reason so far," she declared. Calls put through to Police Spokesman, Jimoh Moshood went unanswered. More photos more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/01/photos-from-arrest-of-bbog-convener-oby.html cc mynd44 lalasticlala missyb3

I don't know why Nigerians can't separate fate from job. Pastors most of the time determines what their members can sell in their various shops and if they go against that rule, they face sanctions. Redeem Church and Deeper Life are mostly the culprits of this instances. This time, Cool FM OAP, Daddy Freeze has reacted to a tweet which says a young man who has been jobless for over 4 years, rejected a N500,000 job from British American Tobacco (BAT) because according to him, smoking is a sin. Person dey reject N500k job for this recession? na wa ooo The tweet reads; “Imagine a Nigerian Christian who has been jobless for 4 years rejecting a job offer that pays more than 500k from British American Tobacco/Nigerian breweries because smoking/drinking is a sin.” See Daddy Freeze reacted below: “Drinking alcohol is NOT a sin! Jesus drank alcohol and produced ‘wine’ which is alcoholic…. let’s remember that Jesus was accused of being a drunkard… you can’t be accused of being a drunkard if you drink grape juice. – The disciples were also accused of acting drunk on ‘new wine’ in Acts2 if wine wasn’t alcoholic, why were the disciples accused of being drunk on it? – Cigarettes on the other hand, although not expressly mentioned in the Bible, can be a source of ‘moral’ concern, especially because of the high number of deaths attributed to them each year. – It is however not the job of your pastor to decide your choice of employment, let the Holy Spirit lead you! ~FRZ – ◄ Acts 2:13 ► New International Version *************************** Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.” – English Standard Version *************************** But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.” – Berean Study Bible ********************* But others mocked them and said, “They are drunk on new wine!” – New American Standard Bible ******************************* But others were mocking and saying, “They are full of sweet wine.” – King James Bible ****************** Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.” What will be your advise to this young man who rejected N500k job because of his fate? more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/01/man-rejects-n500k-job-from-bat-after-4.html cc mynd44 lalasticlala missyb3

Properties worth millions of naira were destroyed on Monday as students of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo protested against the school’s policy of compulsory payment of school fees before writing examination. The school management had directed that only students who have paid their school fees should be allowed to write the ongoing examination of the institution. The school was closed for over two months last year over non payment of salary of the institution’s workers. According to Daily Post, trouble started on Monday when students who are yet to pay their fees were sent out of the examination hall. The students were told to pay their fees or forget about writing the exams. Irked by the development, the angry students stormed the Akure/Benin expressway, preventing vehicular movement for over an hour. The protesting students also stormed the institution’s ICT center and destroyed properties worth millions of naira. It took the intervention of the security agents to return normalcy to the campus. Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) Owo chapter Mr. Rafiu Ijawoye said the students’ action was unacceptable and embarrassing. He said just as students had rights in the institution, it doesn’t cover writing examination without payment of school fees. The ASUP Chairman condemned the action of the students, stressing that it was sad that huge properties could be destroyed. He said he has directed members of the ASUP in the institution to stop every academic activity till the issue is resolved. Former Diplomat and retired Permanent Secretary, Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali, has said that Nigeria's former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has remained one of the poorest former Nigerian leaders, even in Africa, in recent years. The ambassador also disclosed that the immediate past Nigerian President was currently struggling to settle some of his 2015 election liabilities. Dr. Igali, who made this baffling revelation in an interactive session with some journalists, weekend, in Abuja, said that despite the allegations of corruption leveled against some of the officials and associates of Jonathan during his tenure as Nigeria’s president, he left his exalted position as a fulfilled man but insolvent, as compared to most of his retired predecessors. In his words; "Even with the corruption accusations against his regime, non of the corruption cases has so far been linked directly to the Jonathan". “Am glad that some of you Journalists are privileged to know where he (Jonathan) lives and where he has his private offices in this country. I do not think president Jonathan can be considered a very rich man. “You must realize that none of those corruption allegations has been personally linked to him. Jonathan is not a rich man, take it from me. He may be comfortable but not rich. But l know that his pension as a former president is enough to take care of him.” According to Punch, Mr. Igali, who had served as Permanent Secretary in both Ministries of Power and Water Resources, described the ex-president as a “modest” man whose lifestyle and background were humble. “Indeed Jonathan is still struggling to pay some election liabilities from 2015 till today. Despite all the stories of flying billions, Jonathan borrowed money to prosecute some aspects of his election and he is struggling in different ways to meet up. There’s a lot of untruths that is being said about him, but l believe history will be very fair to him. He is a very simple man. His background and lifestyle are very simple. He is not jingoistic. “Thank God some of you guys know where he has an office and where he lives in Maitama. Which former president of Nigeria lives in that kind of place? President Jonathan’s parlour in his Maitama house can not accommodate more than ten persons. “Look at his dinning table, it is like any other house in Maitama. The only way you will know that a former president of this country is living there is the presence of security men and which he is entitled to as a former president.” The former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Sweden, Finland, Venezuela and Cameroon at different times, however expressed regrets over what he described as the way Jonathan’s regime was being discredited as if nothing good in terms of positive achievements for the country. more @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/01/goodluck-ebele-jonathan-is-nigerians.html cc mynd44 lalasticlala dominique

Its true that women all over the world come with various great needs, and more often than not, they require support from the opposite sex. This, and many other reasons, may be why most of them won’t settle for a poor man but budding singer thinks otherwise. Toby Grey, born Tobiloba Mariam Adeyemi, who recently featured 9ice and Skales on her latest single ‘Konibaje’ has a different perspective. According to her: Being rich is not all about money. She posits that she can marry a poor man who has no money but rich in other areas. “You know a rich man can be poor in knowledge and money is not something that people cannot have. Knowledge or let me say commonsense is something that is really hard to acquire. If he is poor in commonsense, then it’s a NO but if he is poor in money, it doesn’t mean he can’t be rich in money. So, of course I can marry a poor man if he is very rich in every other thing,” she quips. To her, what is most important in a romantic relationship goes beyond sex and explains what matters most to her. “If the partners are not in it for a long term relationship, then the goal is a bit dicey. If it’s not for the long term, many people will choose sex and money because it’s temporal. But if it’s for the long term and you are planning to get married to this person, then love is the most important thing because the end of the day when everything fades, the only thing you will have left is the love and the friendship you started with. I learnt that from my parents. At the end of the day, love fades but friendship remains. I even think you are missing something; it should be love, friendship, sex or money. Friendship is the most important thing to me,” she says. More @ http://www.exlinklodge.com/2018/01/singer-toby-grey-declares-she-can-marry.html?m=1
