It has been a nightmare for France as a nation since this year following the recent terror attacks in their nation. Horror has come down on France once again as a lorry struck a crowd after Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice, killing at least 80 people, including children, and injuring dozens last night, July 14. According to officials, the incident happened on the famous Promenade des Anglais after a firework display.

Although the driver was shot dead, the discovery of guns and grenades inside the lorry has prompted President Francois Hollande to describe the attack as that of “terrorist nature”. The “terroristic character” of the attack “cannot be denied,” Hollande said.

He added: “It is clear that we must do everything we can to fight against the scourge of terrorism. “France was hit on the day of her national holiday, July 14, symbol of liberty, because the rights of man are denied by fanatics and France is inevitably their target.”

President Muhammadu Buhari received the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Michael Aremu Adedotun Gbadebo III at the State house in Abuja today July 14th.

Gbadebo was born on 14 September 1943, into the Laarun Ruling House. He is a grandson of the sixth Alake of Egbaland, Oba Gbadebo, who ruled from 1898 to 1920, and is a nephew of Oba Gbadebo II.
Gdadebo attended the Baptist Boys’ High School in Abeokuta and Ibadan Grammar School, then went on the University of Ibadan in 1965, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969.

He joined the army in 1969, and attended the Command and Staff College, Jaji from September 1978 to August 1979. He eventually became a Principal Staff Officer to Major-General Tunde Idiagbon, the Chief of Staff at the Supreme Headquarters, Dodan Barracks, from January 1984 to September 1985. He retired from the army as a Colonel.

He was then elected as Alake in August 2005 ended a six-month period of uncertainty about who would succeed the former Alake, Oba Oyebade Lipede, who died on 3 February 2005. He scored 15 out of 23 votes in an election conducted by the Egba kingmakers, defeating eight competitors including his younger brother, Adeleke.

Hmmm, it this remotely possible or is it just to trim the candidates because they are much? The Enugu State Police Command says it will disqualify any applicant with tattoo in its ongoing nationwide recruitment. Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said this to newsmen in Enugu state today June 6th.

“The present recruitment is for degree holders and will last for three weeks and after that, the selected ones will proceed for the written interview. Over aged people, tattooed persons, falsified results, statement of results over five years and people with some physical impediments will be disqualified from the exercise” he said.

Seriously? I know tattoos may somehow speak to the dignity of a person but tattoos cannot really ascertain if a person is bad or good. I personally don't see the reason to cut them out is justified rather than just to identify ingenious ways to cut the crowd.

All the name of better and greener pastures. The bodies of at least 85 migrants who drowned trying to cross the Mediterranean were found washed up from the beaches of the coastal town of Zuwara, on Thursday afternoon, June 2, a Red Cross official said.

They are believed to be migrants who perished in a string of shipwrecks that took place inside Libyan waters late last week. Al-Khamis al-Bosaifi said most of the migrants appeared to be from sub-Saharan Africa, though their bodies were decomposed and it was not clear when they drowned. The bodies of two children were among those recovered.

The coastguard in town last week intercepted more than 450 migrants in four separate boats over Wednesday and Thursday. According to survivors of two of the boats which were deflated, more than 100 people had drowned.

Their deaths will add to a horrific tally from the last week of way, in which an estimated 900 to 1,000 migrants lost their lives at sea outside Libyan territorial waters.

A resident in Zuwara said that besides the bodies, empty dinghies are also washing up. They are believed to be vessels which would have been carrying migrants but are then abandoned following rescue operations.

It all seems that the bell of over speeding never stops ringing. Another 6 persons lost their lives in a fatal accident at Fadeyi bus stop in Lagos this morning. Body parts of some of the victims littered the road after a commercial bus and a trailer collided.

I would not wish this to any home or any family but dare i say if you have any member of your family who had taken that route today, you might wanna call the person. I really think that this our bus drivers and especially trailer drivers needs to be retrained and a stiffer sanctions imposed on the owners of this vehicle.

RIP to the dead.

I have been told severally to send cake samples to some celebrities for hype(yes it’s good when you are building a brand) but I don’t believe in it, I believe if my work is good enough, with God, kings, celebrities will sought after my brand not for self pity (if I have to send to a top person I admire, i’ll do with no strings attached, I do some anonymously anyways, you might be the next person..lol)

I have gotten several requests from media houses to pay for news paper publications/Tv interviews so that I can be featured (it’s good for business but I won’t do that maybe for now). It has never been about fame and quick money(those who know me can testify) I believe in process, I know God wants to take me through a part only him will take glory for… some people ask how can a self taught cake maker be this good?

Well I have told you severally I’m God taught, I don’t rely on my own understanding, my self and the Holy Spirit hold hands when I’m working on a cake ( this is my secret o trust me). So I was contacted last week to Make a Cake for the Queen’s Birthday Party, I had no idea what the design would be until yesterday evening… I was told dignitaries have been taking pictures of the cake at the British deputy high commissioner’s residence, A great achievement! To God alone be the glory. I’m not where God wants me to be yet but I’m grateful I’m following through bitter-sweet process.

This is pure devils work. God help us. Mr. Lesiba Kekana, who pleaded guilty to murdering his four young sons in a fit of rage has been sentenced to 52 years imprisonment by the Limpopo High Court today, Friday April 29. Handing down sentence today, Judge Joseph Raulinga said although Kekana pleaded guilty without wasting court time, and advanced “personal circumstances” the aggravating circumstances in the horror murders far outweigh these actions.

“What you did is catastrophic, although you are deserving life because you have the right to life still I must meet the wishes of the community,” said Raulinga. “The circumstances of the case don’t at all deserve that I should have mercy.”

The 37-year-old man was convicted of murder of his four sons in September last year, and was also found guilty on an additional count of assault relating to an earlier attack on his wife Lorraine. Kekana killed his sons Bokang, 13, Keneilwe, 10, Hlologelo, 6, and Lekgoledi, 4, at their home in Moletlane. Kekana told the court he cut his children’s throats after a bitter telephonic argument with their mother who was in Gauteng where she works. “Mr Kekana had not only killed his children in a (horrific) manner, he has hurt his wife, the community of Moletlane, the people of South Africa,” said Judge Raulinga.

The court said that Kekana had had ample time to heal from his claim that he was angry with his wife after he found a used condom at her house in Gauteng. Kekana claimed his wife admitted to cheating. Nigerians keep bringing bad name to this great country. A report on "Malaysia Mail Online" says Police has arrested a Nigerian private college student on Wednesday, April 27 in connection with the seizure of 20.8kg of syabu (methamphetamine) worth about RM3.2 million, which was smuggled from China via courier service.

The drugs, meant for distribution to the local addict population was found hidden in a portable air-conditioning unit at a house in Bukit Mahkota Cheras, to prevent detection by the authorities.Federal Police Narcotics Investigation Department deputy director, Datuk Pahlawan Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said police had launched simultaneous raids in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Selangor.
"We have arrested the 27-year-old man and seized 21 packets of drugs believed to be syabu," he told reporters at a press conference on Thursday.

"The drugs, weighing about 20.8kg, were stashed in a hidden compartment in the machines. Initial investigations revealed the suspect had brought the drug into the country from China, using a courier service company," Dzuraidi said police have not ruled out the possibility that the man was connected to a syndicate.

"The suspect had just started trafficking in drugs in Malaysia about nine months ago and we are still tracking down the remaining members of the syndicate. The drug can meet the demand of 35,000 addicts for a month," he said. The Nigerian has been remanded under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar congratulated the STING team for the success, via his Twitter account.

Sad news reaching us says a 26 year old secondary school leaver, Oluwaseyi Babatola, burnt his ex lover, her mother, kids and uncle because she denied him sex. According to him, he is now hunted by the spirits of the children he murdered and that he is being disturbed by the thought of them.

Babatola, identified his victims as Janet Isuawa; her sons, Samuel and Osaze; her cousin, Taphael; and Janet’s mother. He reported himself to the police. Explaining what happened, the suspect said he started dating Janet, a divorcee, sometime ago, adding that he supported her and the children financially. The relationship went wrong after he demanded sex, and Janet turned him down.

He said, “Janet said my mother told her that I suffer from hernia, and that she could not date me; she called me a ‘mugu’ (fool), and said she had chopped my money. So, I went to where she was charging the phone I bought for her and took it. “She attacked me and bit my chest, and as I struggled to free myself from her grip, her cousin, Taphael, came in and pushed me down and held me there while she beat me with her fists. After I left the house, Janet’s younger sister called me on the telephone and abused me, saying they would deal with me if I come to the house again.”

Babatola stated that he moved to an area called Arab Road in Bwari, where he stayed with a friend and continued getting threats that he will be dealt with by the woman’s siblings.

“On the night of April 15, around 11pm, I went to the house and found that the gate was locked. I scaled the fence into the compound. I went towards Janet’s room and saw her sleeping, as the window was opened because there was no power supply. I went to the bathroom, where she kept a gallon of fuel and poured it into the room through the window; the room caught fire from a lighted lantern,” he said.

He wanted to kill himself after that.

Lawyer: "I have lost my sense of taste"

The annoyed lawyer goes back after a few days to recover his money...

Following the saga between the prison boss and the lawmaker which was assaulted by one of the prison officials, the Controller-General of Nigeria Prison, Peter Ezenwa Ekpendu, today appeared before the House of Representatives members to answer queries on the alleged assault of a female lawmaker, Onyemeachi Mprakpor, by a prison official within the premises of the National Assembly on Wednesday April 20th.

Mprakpor who represents Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency of Delta State petitioned the leadership of the lower chambers after she alleged that an aide of the prison boss slapped her when she attempted to overtake the 20-car convoy of the prison boss.

A jilted MTN official has killed his lover in Kwara State. The yet to identified suspect who is still on the run, a marketing officer at MTN office on University of Ilorin Road in Tanke reportedly stabbed his pretty girlfriend to death in the early hours of yesterday during one of their recurring arguments over marriage proposal.

The deceased had earlier rejected the suspect’s marriage proposal but he didn’t worry about it hoping she will change her mind. He reportedly lost his cool yesterday after the lady insisted that she will not marry him because he’s a womaniser.

The negative response reportedly angered him. He was said to have rushed into the kitchen where he took a knife and stabbed his girlfriend to death. The mother of the deceased was rescued by neighbours before the suspect fled the scene of the murder.

A nurse who saw the body of the deceased at the University of Ilorin expressed shock as to how a man will kill such a beautiful lady. Her corpse has been taken to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital for autopsy.

Officials of Kwara State Police Command have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
