The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Ogun says one person died on Saturday in a road accident at Sagamu involving a fuel tanker, an articulated vehicle and a bus. State FRSC Sector Commander Adegoke Adetunji said no fewer than 11 people also sustained injuries in the accident that an eyewitness said occurred in the midnight.

He said the tanker, loaded with petrol had a mechanical problem and stopped on the road, while the bus and truck rammed into it resulting in explosion. He said that the tanker caught fire and burnt other two vehicles, noting that the dead and the injured had been taken to hospital.

``We can’t even give you the number plates of the affected vehicles because, by the time we got there, they were all burnt beyond recognition,’’ he said. Adetunji said the unfortunate accident must have been caused by rate of speed of the vehicle that rammed into it.

He advised motorists and commuter to always be alert when driving and avoid speeding.

Pakistan have taken a rather drastic measure in order to sanitize its streets of stray dogs. The officials have poisoned hundreds of dogs in Karachi, Pakistan in the latest effort to curb a population of strays that attack thousands of people each day.

Bodies of dead dogs are seen littered around the city as municipal workers gathered them for disposal.
Officials estimated the operation had culled thousands of strays but did not have a full accounting for all six city districts. "At least 700 dogs have been killed only in two areas of Karachi's south in the couple of days," said Sattar Javed, a spokesman for the municipal authority.
The periodic culling of stray dogs using poison tablets hidden in chicken has drawn criticism from animal rights activists but a city official, Mohammad Zahid, said it was necessary because packs of strays posed a threat to residents.

Is obvious that the advice the Redeemed Church of God general overseas (Pastor E.A Adeboye gave to single men and women on Tuesday 2nd August, over the qualities of partners they should or should not marry, is still steering the air till today. For the past few days, pastor Adeboye’s advice to youths on marriage have been trending all over the place. I suspect that the good pastors yarns tells me that he is a man suspended in time, between old and new school. Don’t get it twisted, in as much as I flow with his definition of a good woman, from his statement I see that the obvious way to his heart is through his stomach and of cause through prayers.

Good, No wahala. However our amiable pastor rubs it in when he starts to yarn Akpata, ” Marry a warrior, if a girl cannot pray for one hour, don’t marry her. Don’t marry a girl who is lazy, who cannot cook. She needs to know how to do chores and cook because you cannot afford to eat out at all times” Hummm na wa! Really? Seriously?

So if my wife to be can’t rant, chant, shout and generally carry on as a prayer warrior, praying for a whole hour, the woman doesn’t deserve a wife status. Abi? Oga pastor, that one na missyarn. Over praying does not make one a better husband or wife, because the world especially Naija is filled with Fake people and “Fakest” pastors. Does a man having a job guarantee that he will make a good husband? Does a woman knowing how to cook guarantee she will make a good wife? Haba.

Ok I get it, The Nigerian god has an ear infection, so we must shout and pray for hours because that’s the only way he may listen to our prayers, right? I know that a man is suppose to marry a helper and not a cook or a house girl. By the way, is anything wrong with encouraging your young male congregation to learn how to cook and do chores too. “Do not marry a worldly lady” what the heck does that mean? Is it about being materialistic or just being fashionable, looking nice.

I guess in your book we can’t be a good Christian if we got swagg and we are trendy. Judge not pastor. We must all not look like Deeper Life people to have a personal relationship with God. By the way, if you want to start writing your own commandment you may as well write your own version of the bible for your congregation. Na una way. Being married should never define a man or a woman.

Marriage in a few years anyways, will be out of fashion. Being married is only nice if we are lucky to pick a partner who will be our friend, if not, that maybe hell on earth. All of us must not get married if our threshold for nonsense and garbage is low. The world is obviously changing and we are no longer in the 60s. Who wants to be suffering and smiling. Most importantly marriage should not be a milestone for anyone. Yes o.

God is in deed everywhere. An African (Congolese) migrant mother went into labour after being rescued in the Mediterranean Sea and delivered her baby girl on an Italian patrol boat on July 30. They were later taken aboard Italian Navy ship Bettica.

The baby has now been named Joy Aurora. The new mother and her husband were rescued together with 870 other asylum seeking migrants.

Is a pathetic news to hear especially to Nigerians as a whole. According to a report by Daily Trust, the screening of the ambassadorial nominees took a dramatic turn when Okeke and Isa couldn't recite the National anthem and pledge properly.

The report revealed further that when the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, asked the nominees, to recite the national anthem, they didn't only mix it up but were saved by Senator James Manager of the Delta South Constituency.

The screening of the 47 career foreign service officers submitted for consideration as Ambassadors by President Muhammadu Buhari kicked off on July 26, 2016.

Ever visited Ghana before? If you have, you would know this man. He is a bulldozer, he a cut throat relationship and marriaged counselor and i must tell you , his rues are pathetic. Following the return of Malam Nuhu Ribadu and Marcus Gundiri to the All Progressives Congress (APC), there has been unease in the Adamawa state chapter of the party. According to Daily Trust, a statement made by the chief of staff to Governor Muhammadu Jibrilla, Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta while kicking against the move, started the impending crisis.

A party chieftain who craved anonymity said the presidency had directed the Adamawa state chapter of the party to organise a grand reception for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate and that of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) who lost to the incumbent governor during the 2015. Babachir David Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), who hails from the state, reportedly issued a letter conveying the directive. It was gathered that some party chieftains wondered why Ribadu would be allowed to return, one year after the party wrested power from the PDP.

The chief of staff addressing party supporters during the flag-off of the construction of the 37- kilometer Kiri-Shelleng road, said the plan to receive Ribadu was a waste of resources and unnecessary glorification of party deserters. He insisted that the returnees should follow the due process for registration, their statuses notwithstanding. Speaking during their reception at the state secretariat of the party in Yola on Saturday, July 23, both Ribadu and Gundiri said they did not return to the APC to hijack it from Governor Jibrilla. They promised to work with the governor and other chieftains of the party to move the state forward. Gundiri said he simply wanted to contribute more to the development of the party as a founding member.

The acting chairman, Adamawa State chapter of the APC, Ibrahim Bilal, said the matter had been resolved, adding that government officials only had problem with the timing of the rally, not the return of Ribadu and Gundiri. He also denied reports that the party had been embroiled in crisis involving the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Jibrilla on one side, and Babachir and former Governor Murtala Nyako on the other. He said they remained as united as ever, adding that the party would always welcome new members to its fold. Didi Akinyelure, a Nigerian journalist has won the second BBC World News Komla Dumor Award. Akinyelure, a business news anchor with CNBC Africa, will start a three-month placement at BBC in London in September as part of her prize. She has been with CNBC Africa since 2013.

The award, established in honour of Komla Dumor, a presenter for BBC World News, who died aged 41 in 2014, seeks to "celebrate African journalism and reward exceptional talent," BBC says. Josephine Hazelet, one of the judges who selected Akinyelure said she particularly excelled in telling business stories "which was an area Komla was also passionate about"

Akinyelure said Dumor was someone she admired. "He told the African story with so much passion for the continent, giving a balanced view and inspiring so many." The first Komlar Dumor Award was won by Nancy Kacungira, a television anchor for Kenya’s KTN television channel.

Arguably the greatest footballer the world has ever produced "Pele" is expected in Nigeria for a historic visit in August as part of events planned by the Winihin Jemide Series and Youth Experience Days Africa.

The three-time World Cup winner will headline a youth football tournament that will take place at the Astro-Turf in Ikoyi as well as a leadership meeting with Corporate Nigeria, Goal.com reports. The WJS/YEDA Legend Edition 2016 is a 2-day event (11th -12th August, 2016) focused on youth development and empowerment through a once-in-a-lifetime inspiring experience with Pele.

The event will include a sports clinic (legend tournament), a gala night with the legend, other African football legends and an auction of Pele memorabilia at the gala night with proceeds from the auction expected to be donated to an eligible local youth football academy. This will be the former striker’s second visit to Nigeria; the first in 1967, was occasioned by a 2-day cease fire during the Nigerian Civil War which saw Pele & Santos FC team play an exhibition match in Lagos.

The Brazilian won the first of his three World Cups as a 17-year-old at Sweden ’58 before adding two more titles at Chile ’62 and Mexico ’70.

Nigerians as a whole cannot thank God enough that the planned coup by the military arm of Turkey failed because we had most of our celebrities and some of other Nigerian present in the country during the said incident.

One of the duo of P-Square, Peter Okoye now known as Mr P is in Turkey as you read this post. Mr P was in Turkey to perform at the 10th anniversary of international footballer Samuel Eto’o’s foundation in Antalya, Turkey.

The event was also to witness a charity match that was to feature many international football celebrities like Samuel Eto’o, Kanu Nwankwo, Ronaldo, Emmanuel Adebayor, Jay Jay Okocha among others. Speaking on his part in the ordeal, Owolabi said: “I went to work that fateful day. When I came back, I went to Akpan’s house only to see him making love to the girl and when I entered his room, he just finished making love to her.

I persuaded the girl to allow me sleep with her and she accepted. “I made love to her too. While I was doing it with the girl, Lanre walked in and brought out his phone and claimed he was using the torch on the phone to look for something in the room, but he was filming me as I was making love to the girl. “We were arrested in the act.” Lanre, who confessed to have had a carnal knowledge of the lady, noted: “Owolabi and I walked into Akpan’s apartment when we met both of them making love. We persuaded the girl to allow us to make love to her too which she consented to. We went only one round each. When I brought my phone out, I only wanted to use the torch, I never thought of filming them in the act.

It was a mistake.” Akpan, in whose house the act was perpetrated, denied uploading the video online, adding that he had no idea his friends were coming around at the time he was in the act. It is sad to recall that the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer took two years before he finally claimed responsibility for the lovely child. However, Wizkid has since made up for that and even has a tattoo of the boy’s name on his arm. Boluwatife’s fifth birthday was back on May 13 and Wizkid and Shola threw him a Ninja Turtle themed birthday party for him.
