Tbh, from the outside, people don't seem to fathom why Nigeria is moving too slowly. Also, what happens in Nigeria is kinda the world's business because we're technically an important country in Africa. You get it?

Ohh yeah Nigeria is a very important country I get it. But where was this German Newspaper to let Nigeria know that it is an important country ever since our Independence in 1960 and the riding through the turbulent years as a country not until this recent 2023 election, then the newspaper doesn't see anything positive to say about the election, rather it is targeting the country as a whole.

What arrant nonsense, calling Nigeria a country of bigots and ethnic irredentists. Why should they be concerned about Nigerian politics. Well there's nothing we can do about it, INEC has announced him as the winner. We just have to pray and have faith that the Tinubu leadership surpasses our expectations positively.

If I were in Tinubu shoes, I will call a meeting with the other 17 presidential candidates and invite them to join hands with me so as to make Nigeria better, anyone of them that is legible to be a minister should give a heads up signal. That's a better way to gain the support of the masses and to avoid problems (cause we Nigerians are really crazy people).

Nigeria is a country of really crazy people and it will take a crazier leader to lead us properly to the promised land. We need a very controversial, disciplined, no-nonense, brave, economic oriented, peaceful and tolerant to some extent President. Infact I think Russia and China should lend us their presidents for 1 year, then we will return them later with some interesting interests grin

But on a serious note, I'm not a supporter of APC but I think Tinubu is a better candidate. He's got enough political experience and his achievements with and in Lagos state speaks for him. And I think he is the most controversial of the top 3 candidates, he will not accept Nigeria to be treated as a satellite state or puppet by other countries. Nigeria will likely realize it's African Super Power potentials under his leadership just as he laid the foundation for the development of Lagos state.
Though I wouldn't want him to represent Nigeria at the UN assembly or any other international gathering. His speeches during the presidential campaign is enough embarrassment.

Peter Obi on the other is a really good guy and I'm sure he wants the best for the country. But I fear that he might only concentrate on fixing the country's economy. Although, if the economy is good, then other sectors will be easy peasy but nevertheless he still has to be active and revered in cases involving foreign affairs, trade and investment (local and international), the military's support and loyalty and other things, you guys should know what I'm talking about.

And then, on Atiku. Don't even get me started on that one. We all know he will privatize the whole of Nigeria. And just as his name implies; A ti Ku in Yoruba meaning "We Are Dead"

My best copy is their version of the f16. The J10

The J-10 is much more a copy of the Israeli IAI Lavi aircraft which never entered service by the way, just a prototype was produced. But whenever I look at the EuroFighter Typhoon from the front and Chengdu J 10 with the square air inlet, I wonder if it's a question of "who copied who" or just an unusual coincidence.

Hello, Exnavyboy62 san! smiley

Please forgive me to write about North Korea kidnapped Japanese peoples.

There have some reasons.

One of Japanese victims who came back to Japan in 2002, talked about they wanted him to be their spy at first.
They kidnapped him in 1978 with his wife.
Japan got back 5 victims in 2002 and this victim is one of them.

It's said that their main purpose is enter South Korea.
Because North Korea nationals are difficult to enter there.
So, they wanted Japanese victims to be their spy and they wanted send them (Japanese) to South Korea.

But their plan is failed or something like that, this victim became like Japanese teacher.
Like GabrielYulaw san said, this victim taught them Japanese language etc.
Reason is they wanted to be fake Japanese.
Sorry, How do I say it in English?
Impersonation? Imposter? Identity theft?
So, they needed to learn Japanese language, culture etc.

Another reason is they wanted use Japanese victim's identity for another Japanese who already became? brainwashed? their spy to enter Japan and kidnapping more Japanese.

Sadly, one North Korea's spy who is a Japanese woman kidnapped other Japanese woman in Europe around in 1983.
She is still not come back to Japan.

According from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (from their website), "The following is an outline the cases related to the 17 abductees identified by the Government of Japan.
In addition to the 17 Japanese citizens already identified as having been abducted by North Korea, the possibility of abduction by North Korea can't be ruled out of 873 other missing persons (as of October 2021).
The Government of Japan has been conducting information gathered and investigation activities both Japan and overseas."

One of other website about North Korea kidnapped Japanese is "Abduction of Japanese Citizen by North Korea".
This website has English.
They have free download documentary animation film "Megumi".
This have some foreign languages including English.
I'm planning to watch it.
This animation film "Megumi" is about Yokota Megumi san.
North Korea said she is already dead.
They sent two victims' remains to Japan and one of them is her.
But Japan Government did DNA test and result is those remains are nothing relate to them.
Nort Korea sent unknown persons' remains to Japan.

Nort Korea claiming 8 victims are already dead and 4 victims are not enter North Korea.
5 survivors and their families are already sent back to Japan.

But those 8 victims, North Korea said they are already dead is without any proofs.
And they said 2 of their remains are already sent back to Japan which is I already wrote about it and other 6 victims' remains are buried at three different cemeteries and they are claiming all of their remains are swept away in heavy rain.

Terrible. Really really terrible.
And North Korea kidnapped is not only Japanese.
They kidnapped some other nationalities too.

I'm so sorry for long long writing.
But I hope this will be useful information to you smiley

Well this is insightful. I guess North Korea did commit some atrocities that made Japan view them with a negative lens.
Though I think we shouldn't use the actions of Kim Jong Un's grandfather and the North Korea of then
(who committed the crime of kidnapping Japanese nationals and forcing them to act as spies), to judge Kim Jong Un and North Korea of present.

Nevertheless the fact that North Korea has nuclear weapons that can reach as far as Japanese waters and beyond, that's just enough to send chills down the spine of anyone within the strike zone. And I understand that a lot of Japanese don't want to go through the horrors of conflict again after witnessing that of WW2, but just as the saying goes; "If you want peace, prepare for war".

I wish you and all of Japan peace, hopeful that you don't get caught in the Super Powers tussle(God have mercy on Ukraine) cause Japan is one of the largest manufacturing hubs in the world. I wonder what the world will be like without Japan. No electronic devices, No vehicles, no industrial equipments, what else could ever go wrong??

You are either naive or unexposed to geopolitical realities.

Ever heard of a little something called a map? Take a look at where North Korea is. Notice it shares borders with both China and Russia?

According to you, north Korea is developing nuclear weapons to prevent the US invading it. And it never occurred to you "that if" such an invasion happened, it would bring US and NATO forces right within areas both Russia and China consider inviolable. Like China go just smile encouragingly as the US invaded North Korea, right?

Do research the Korean war when you can, paying particular attention to China's reaction to the invasion of the North by UN forces led by the US. Plus ask yourself what Russia is doing at the moment just because Ukraine, a neighboring country is falling into the Western orbit.

Just as you assumed, "IF" the US invades North Korea and we all know that's not going to happen for as long as North Korea keeps up with nuclear weapons development.

By the way, you still haven't showed me any proof of recent that North Korea as a country kidnapped the Japanese and taught them the old Japanese ways by force.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Technical Discussions On International Military Equipments Doctrines Tactics Etc by Exnavyboy62: 5:07am On Feb 24, 2023
GabrielYulaw:

Respectfully, your opinion is not based on facts. Are you aware that for decades North Korea has been kidnapping Japanese citizens, and taking them to their country so they can teach them Japanese customs and stuff like that, which will then be used to train spies that can pass for Japanese? That's not an act of war, right? North Korea is just doing all it can to keep itself safe, right? All while fat Kim eats the best food in the world and washes it down with the best liquor money can buy. So, yeah, he's as fat as he is cos that's what keeps North Koreans safe, right?

So, according to you, someone launching ballistic missiles into your territorial waters is not a threat. If I started using catapult to shoot big stones into your compound would you regard that as a threat or not? And you talk like these ballistic missile launches only happen due to US and South Korean exercises and that's an outright lie. North Korea is like a petulant bully whose overriding objective is to be noticed. Any time there's a little bit of peace and quiet in Asia, they launch a missile or perform a nuclear test and then issue bombastic statements that scream "notice me, notice me".

And another thing, you said that North Korea went the nuclear route because they did not have money to purchase conventional weapons. Seriously? Hope you are aware that nuclear missiles cost an arm and a leg to develop, and a neck and liver to maintain. They are never cheap. North Korea went the nuclear route precisely because it is the only thing that gives them the biggest leverage and they by the way have been for decades a major arms manufacturing and exporting nation.

As for your analysis on the US and China, the less said the better.

What proof of recent do you have to show that North Korea as a country has been kidnapping the Japanese and doing whatever you said they were doing to them??
Did I ever say anything about Mr Kim Jong Un's diet being responsible for keeping North Korea safe??

Did you read my write up properly at all. I never said North Korea launched ballistic missiles into the waters of countries hosting US military bases (e.g; Japan and South Korea)for nor reason, they are not only a response to US-South Korean exercises, they are also a message to the US to stay clear of it's territory as it will not like to be in the same situation as victims of NATO gangsters bullying, who unfortunately had no nuclear weapons to serve as a war deterrent for them.

Yes you are right and at the same time, they can't afford an arms race with South Korea in terms of conventional weapons so rather than waste the available money, time, energy and resources they have on such, wouldn't it be better if they have a better more powerful and efficient war deterrent, hence why they turned to their allies (China and Russia) "for help" in nuclear weapons development and the allies seem to have done a good job in being an all weather friend to the small Island.

As I said, who knows maybe my argument is not relevant to the issue on ground. I don't live in any of the said countries so I don't know what it feels like to perceive a threat.

Oh! Really?! Am I correct?
I was just little bit joking. But there are always many typs of view of point and peoples are having different view of point.
So, I was just saying like that's one way of looking at it smiley

Please, if I'm not bothered you, I like to know about What is your think? opinion? if they are truly telling Japan to have power for fight?
They wanna fight war with Japan and wanna get win from Japan? or they wanna team up with Japan to fight with Western countries? etc.
I like to know! smiley

Yes! I think so too.
They have anger or frustration about old days Japan more than these days Japan.
I'm always saying this, they need villian and that's Japan.
Of course I can't deny about everythings what Japan did it in the past.
I'm not justify myself or Japan to talking bad things about them.
But I can't allow everythings what they are saying including war history.

Many times I'm thinking like if each Asian countries could have good relationship, Asia will be very wonderful and strong regions smiley
But sadly, seems like impossible. Some countries including Japan, very hard to have good relationship with some countries.
My mom once said Western countries don't want Asia to be strong and discordance to each other? each countries? is convenience to them.
She don't hate Western countries. But she said like that.

Ohhhhhh!! You have a bad mouth like me!! cheesy
I like it!! You made me laugh cheesy
Thank you soooo much! I appreciate you!!
I always said "Kim boy"!
He is a very busy for protecting himself.
Not protecting his country or peoples, but only protecting himself.
I think he thinks he is a weak.
So, he has to showing and spreading in the world to let peoples to know and believe he is a very strong man with weapons.
And I also think maybe he is a very afraid about what will happen to him if he doesn't has weapons.
But this is kind of understandable.

Well from the way I look at it, I don't think China and North Korea has anything to gain in having any hostilities with Japan. Their only concern is the US which has military bases on Japanese soil and all over the South Asian region.

Having a country like the US within reach of China and surrounding China with bases is a threat to their national security cause when war breaks out, the bases will serve as launchpads for operations and it will be easier for the US to blockade China. And as we all know, China doesn't intend to invade the US but the US and NATO bloc for no credible reason sees China as a threat.

As for North Korea, they are only doing what they can to keep themselves safe. Since they don't have funds to purchase conventional weapons due to the heavy sanctions on them, they have no choice but to turn to their allies(China and Russia) which has helped them in missile development hence why they have ICBMs or as they like to call it "War deterrent". Those ballistic missile launches that go as far as the senkaku Islands and fall in Japanese waters are not intended to threaten Japan, they are only a response to the exercises conducted by US and South Korea and most especially a message to US that it can strike it's bases and they should stay clear of North Korean territory.

But who knows, maybe my opinion is not relevant to the issue on ground, I'm just an armchair general, that's why I asked for the opinion of a Japanese national. Thanks once again for your response.

And one more thing, your mother was right about the West not wanting Asia to be strong and united.

Of course! I'm gonna be very honest with you! smiley

But sorry, my English is still very bad and not easy for me to having discussion this kind of things in English. Very very difficult to me.
Many things I don't know how to say in English.
So, Please forgive me if how my write is strange or off point.

And national security is about military and also have non military things.
But I'm gonna write about military side of national security.

My answer to your question is Yes.
What they are doing around Japan's territory and inside Japan is unacceptable.
Very violent and threaten Japan and Japanese peoples.
Making Japan and Japanese peoples unsafe.

Japan can't fight, I mean Japan can't fight war.
That's why China, North and South Korea and Russia behave like that to Japan.
If Japan can fight back, I don't think they will do something what they are doing now to Japan.
That's what I think.

You can easily to know which countries don't want and bothering about if Japan can fight back.
They are always starting make noise whenever Japan trying to change.
But Japan tried and trying to change law and rules are not for fight a war.
For protect Japan and Japanese peoples.
And for keep safe and peace.

JSDF and JCG etc, they are the one who are always facing danger, under threat etc, for protecting Japan and Japanese peoples, even protecting non Japanese peoples in Japan.
They are saving our safe and peace.
Maybe some peoples say that's their work, their duty etc.
But they are also Japanese peoples and they are also humans like any other Japanese peoples.
Their work or duty is protecting country doesn't mean we can ignore or don't care about their lives.
I never wish to Japan can fight war.
But I'm support about fight back for defence.
I want them to protect themselves too.

So, any countries threat our national security is really unacceptable. Soooo annoying!
Any countries, anybody make under threat my country and my peoples are really really unacceptable.

But one of thing I'm think about is more Japan get violation will lead to change Japan's law and rules of defence.
So, China or North Korea whatever, continuing to threat Japan maybe lead to change Japan.

Maybe China and North Korea telling Japan to have power for fighting cheesy
Maybe they want Japan to be like them! cheesy
Their way of telling Japan to have power is threaten Japan like now! cheesy

Good enough response. And as for the last paragraph of your write up, I think I'm going to hang on that for a while, I guess you have a point there smiley.

I know you're trying to make a point but they got A29s at Maiduguri tho. So, distance is not really an issue.

About the speed, the A29s is basically a subsonic turboprop aircraft with good ISR capabilities and precision munitions for a tight-budget airforce like ours. It is suitable for a "low-intensity conflict" like ours with no MANPADS threatening the skies.

I think the aircraft is just fine for our asymmetrical warfare. As far we don't aspire to fight a neighbor with it wink

Naahhh we aren't Warmongers neither are we bullies. Rather Nigerians are peacekeepers wink.

By the way, can any armchair Air force Marshall in the online barracks help me out in my comparison of Nigeria's A29 tucano to Niger's TAI Hurkus jet.
One was delivered with laser guided rockets and gut wrenching restrictions while the other is yet to be delivered, yet to be battle tested but comes along with missiles and no restrictions.
Which is most likely to record better success against ISWAP elements??

This is absolute nonsense. What evidence do they have to show that the Nigerian Army is guilty of the allegations they are making against it.
The so called Champions of human rights who can't restrict weapons sale to Israel for it's atrocities against Palestine, they see Nigeria has a country to joke with. Such hypocrisy they are even the biggest violators of human rights.

SAS being all demure about their achievements!

"SAS Amatola undergoing a midlife refit at Sandock Austral Shipyards (SAS) in Durban. SAS received the contract for the complete refit of the vessel (excluding armament) – one of the largest projects tackled by a South African company for the South African Navy (SAN).

Amatola spent 3 months in dry dock, where part of the refit programme involved the removal of the Amatola’s two MTU 1163 TB93 diesel engines, each delivering 5920 kW and driving propellers, and a single General Electric LM 2500 gas turbine delivering 20 000 kW and driving a waterjet propulsion system to give a speed of 30 knots.

By getting a South African company to carry out work on the SAS Amatola, the Navy is paying a half to a tenth of the price that foreign suppliers would charge, and local refurbishment work results in quicker turnaround times.

SAS Amatola is the first of the Navy’s four Valour class frigates. She was launched in June 2002 and commissioned into service in February 2006. She is 121 metres long and displaces 3 700 tons."

No offence to the Russians and their fan boys but some people like living in self-denial. We all know that Russia throughout the soviet times till now has poor tank tactics and even air tactics even though they had a more advanced tank before the west and revolutionised tank warfare with the T-64. We saw the massive loses in the Middle Eastern wars by the Arabs who were coached by soviet advisors. We saw the massive shoot down of nearly 100 Syrian aircraft which were soviet made with soviet trained pilots by Isrealis in Operation mole cricket 19.

Even from the earlier stages of the Ukrainian war, we saw how Russian lined up their tanks and attacked through highways like they were going for a normal field exercise.

The Ukrainians keep finding it easy, even though they are disadvantaged, to separate the Russian armour from its infantry, then destroy both elements separately. The Russians are lacking coordination in combined arms tactics but hopefully they reorganise and change tactics for the upcoming counter offensive.

You do know that, it's Wagner and Chechnya troops that are at the frontline not the real Russian troops.
