[quote author=LadyExcellency post=71507484]From my own perspective, it is unfortunate for 3450 voters out of 1,450,000 voters to determine the outcome of an election for a State. I will prefer or rather advice for rerun instead of a runoff election.[/ What are you saying for heaven's sake.We are having rerun not run off in Osun.Don't you know the difference? |

Ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun the inducement of the electorate with “cash”. An exclusive video footage received by SaharaReporters on Friday showed how the electorate were being bribed with money at the old Government House, Oke-Ayaba, Ado Ekiti to vote for the candidate of the PDP, Professor Olusola Kolapo Eleka. The cash gifts ranged from N3,000 to N5,000, and were being shared to prospective voters according to their political wards in the state. Scores of supporters were seen in the video footage trooping into the old Government House to collect their own share of the money. “I showed them my Permanent Voters Card (PVC) as an evidence that I am a voter in Ekiti and they gave me my own N3, 000…and I will vote on Saturday no matter the tension in the state,” one registered voter said. Many party leaders were sighted inside the Government House doling out the cash as they canvassed support for the PDP ahead of Saturday. As of the time of filling this report, it was unclear if the All Progressives Congress (APC), PDP’s main challenger, had been doing the same https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XLFyyIEBek Source: http://saharareporters.com/2018/07/13/breaking-video-shows-ekiti-pdp-bribing-voters-n3000-n5000-old-govt-house |
CilicMarin:You are correct! Before now you will think all Ekiti will follow Fayose....but with what the people are saying "they will rather vote Fayemi instead of voting Fayose's boy" . Funny enough,Fayose has already constructed extra residence in Govt house for himself where he will be living as BABA OBA(king's father)...after handing over to Eleka |
Oshiomhole is saying the TRUTH.Fayose is panicking in Ekiti seriously.I am on ground here and thats the truth, Last week he said he wanted to give employment to 2000 people.A lot of people gathered and he gave them a form where they must fill in their PVC data(serial numbers, place of voting etc). From what I am observing...about 3months ago,Fayemi was not favoured...but as at today...Ekiti people have started singing a new song. Now everyone in Ekiti knows Fayose is AFRAID |
Buhari...unless he refused to contest. ....If you abuse me i will cease your PVC.... ![]() |
This should get to the EFCC...if this government is serious about fighting financial crime! OP...get EFCC notified or let a nairalander do so or put efcc contact details here |
Internet access in Togo has been severely restricted as opposition supporters gather to protest against the rule of President Faure Gnassingbé. Some users say internet speeds are slow and access to social media platforms has been limited. Protesters have rejected a government proposal to bring about a two-term presidential limit, saying it is a ploy to extend the president's rule. They want Mr Gnassingbé, who has been in power since 2005, to step down. He became president after the death of his father, Gnassingbe Eyadema, who had been at the helm for 38 years. Government spokesperson Gilbert Bawara told a local radio station that there was an ongoing internet restriction: "Even in most developed countries, authorities take control of telecommunications in some cases," he said. AFP news agency reports that mobile internet had been shut down in the capital, Lomé, but added that wi-fi networks are still working. BBC Afrique's Ata Ahli Ahebla reports that the demonstrations have begun in many cities and that more are planned for tomorrow. He adds that the decision by the cabinet to propose a constitutional change to bring about a presidential term-limit had not changed the protesters' plans. The protests have been organised by a coalition of opposition parties and civil society organisations. Local journalist Blamé Ekoué reports that organisers have said that they will not relent in their push for a two-term limit and for the release of some of their members who were arrested, charged and sentenced, after similar protests last week. Police clashed with opposition supporters who were chanting "50 years is too long". Source: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-41174005 |

There was tension yesterday at Omuo-Ekiti, Kota-Ekiti and other communities in Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State, following a bloody clash between supporters of Governor Ayo Fayose and those of Senate Deputy Minority Whip Biodun Olujimi. Scores of people were said to have been wounded at a meeting of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in Kota-Ekiti on Sunday. It was attended by members from both factions. The House of Assembly member representing Ekiti East Constituency II, Dare Pelemo, who is a loyalist of Fayose, was said to have been among the wounded. A source told our reporter yesterday that many of the victims of the attack are receiving treatment at undisclosed hospitals in Omuo and Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. Residents scampered to safety and stayed away until the dust of the clash cleared. Fayose and Olujimi are locked in a cold war over the latter’s governorship ambition; the governor allegedly warned Olujimi to drop her governorship ambition but the senator reportedly rebuffed the governor. The crisis reached a crescendo two weeks ago when two House of Assembly members – Michael Adeojo (Ekiti Southwest II) and Ojo Ade Fajana (Ekiti East 1) – were investigated for their alleged loyalty and closeness to Olujimi. A source said the clash erupted over alleged plan to take control of the meeting by one of the factions, which snowballed into physical combat in which missiles were hurled on both sides. Assembly member Pelemo, the source said, had his clothes torn by Olujimi’s supporters, who mobilised to attack him for “attempting to advance Fayose’s interest” at the meeting. The source said: “The meeting ended in disarray as the team loyal to Senator Olujimi and team loyal to Governor Fayose exchanged fisticuffs. “The House of Assembly member representing Ekiti East Constituency II, Pelemo, was beaten up while other members of the team loyal to Governor Fayose ran for their lives.” source: https://www.financialwatchngr.com/2017/08/29/tension-ekiti-supporters-fayose-biodun-olujimi-clash-many-injured/ |
Fayose is a serial lair, unrepentant 419,and an hypocrite of the first order. He plays politics with everything. If he is into construction he targets his opponents structures for demolition. If he sees a good project by preceding govt...he abandons it. If you work with him and have genuine ideas...he gets rid of you.He prefers to work with fools who have no working ideas or who will not talk. He hates been resisted,All his order must be obeyed either legitimate or illegitimate. He loved ridiculing others and making himself indispensable.Take for instance...instead of digging a borehole for a street he prefer to be bring water tank daily. He lacks idea for real development yet he has the wherewithal to command follower-ship among the illiterates...banking on the 'foolishness' (according to him...ekiti GO...meaning ekiti people are foolish) of ekiti populace. I am not surprised by the state of Ikogosi Warmsprings...that was exactly how he ruined the place in his first tenure(2003-2006)...after Gov. Niyi Adebayo renovated the place. A leopard cannot change his spots |
