"I am proud to say as an Igbo Man, that because of our detribalized nature, accountability to our people, fairness to all and 100% democratic inclination, only an Igbo president can bring prosperity to all Nigerians take it or you leave it. After 11 years of OBJ regime from military to civilian, Nigeria became rated as the worst corrupt nation on earth, also all the northern military rulers were riddled with corruption and lack of national progress. People should compare these regimes with the works of Late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe and his vision for a united Nigeria, also how he was not power drunk and ceded power to North. The great difference between the Igbos and other parts of the country is that while the Ibos hates illegal accumulation of wealth be you an Ibo man, the others are happy when their brothers loots public treasury, and this explains why David Mark, Bankole and others are still remaining on their seats while the Igbos chase their corrupt ones out and the rest say the Igbos are not united. If measuring unity is by your ability to allow your corrupt brothers to continue to remain in power; this explains the reason why Nigeria will keep retrogressing without achieving progress." -Victor C |
Eko Ile:Or how easy it was to send 500,000 Nigerian MEN, not women/children to an early grave? Why couldn't Nigerian subdue a ragtag army? |
Maybe she should read in Igbo. I think they may be easier for her o! I hear she speaks Igbo very well. |
Rhino.5dm:Tell that to my ancestors who were the last to fall to the British. And gave them them a lot of heart ache. I am pretty sure they did not fall easily like a pack of woods compared to the other groups. Nor did Biafra fall easily. |
Rhino.5dm:And when will the Yorubas get it? 2050? ![]() |
Some Igbo leaders have finally awakened. Too bad it is too late unfortunately. Where were you all when we needed you? Thanks but no thanks. |
A horrible murder that occurred in my hometown. When will justice prevail in Abia State? |
eku_bear:Over my dead body. ACN will not get past Bayelsa State. Akwa Ibom state is a state that I hold dear due to my Ibibio roots. The Ibibio/Efik/Annang are more aligned with the Igbo than the Yoruba so keep on dreaming. |
And I am not going to lie, I was totally against Nwodo. I hated what he was doing to Sullivan Chime. |
If Orji Uzor Kalu is the best we Igbos have, you might as well as force me to speak Hausa and convert to Islam, because I will never support that man. |
Chyz*:Aunty Dora is impressing me, but there is only so much she can do. I wonder what deals did our politicians have made with GEJ. For some reason, I think they were only looking out for themselves instead what is good for the Igbo people. I do not trust Igbo politicians and I lost my faith with Ohanaeze. I pray for the day we deal with these corrupt Igbo politicians. I want to see their heads roll. |
alj harem:Orju Uzor Kalu had his chance before he squandered it. That man had so much potential I tell you. But look at him now and what he did (or didn't do) for Abia State. I spit whenever I hear that man's name. |
I hope you all are right. Because my heart is saying we Igbos are in trouble. A dark miasma is surrounding Igboland and it needs to be cleared. Our people are already being killed in droves in the North. Yet our leadership remains silent. We Igbos need a leader to stand up for us. Ojukwu is too sick and old to lead us. We need a vibrant leader. One who hasn't been touched by the taint of corruption. One who is not willing to sell us out for political expediency. |
I was in full support of GEJ, but now I regret my support. He is going to be used as a pawn by OBJ. The writing is on the wall. He will throw some crumbs to the East, but we wont see change. They have checkmate the Ndi Igbo. We went from a gorgeous bride to a harlot. And I blame many of the Igbo governors and politicians. |
Abagworo:My brother come to your senses. I will not give up on you. You know I used to enjoy reading your post, but now I cringe with everything you have been saying lately. Remember who your brothers and sisters are. We will love you regardless. I even defended you when you were labeled a tribalist if you have forgotten. Yes you were right in the past. But you must look to Igbo interest only. If we cannot look to our own interest, who will? We are surrounded by enemies. who would love to see us fall. We must be on the same page. A unite front, because I fear we the Ndi Igbo are about to see dark days. |
Aunty Dora is speaking the truth though. If it takes an Igbo woman to awaken the Ndi Igbo. SO BE IT! Our people need to wake up from our slumber. It has been far too long we have been kicked around, ridiculed and our territory used like vanquished territory. |
Onlytruth:abagworo has lost all credibility amongst the Ndi Igbo of Nairaland. He has went against our own interest in order further his own goals. Similar to what our "leaders" are doing. Being labeled a tribalist really messed up his mind. I didn't know he would take it that hard. |
Abagworo:Igbos will never govern Nigeria. Haven't you realized that by now. No one trusts us. They will even trust an Eastern minority (No offense) than trust the Ndi Igbo. Nigeria as a state will continue to keep the Igbo man and woman down. Until we break out of this union, nothing will change for our people. Mehn we need to get rid of the liberal Igbos that are amongst us. I am getting sick and tired of them as well. Cowards all of them. |
alj harem:Our politicians may not get along, but we the Igbo people stick together. Yes it is we vs them and I support this mentality. Now get over it. You will not divide us. One love for all my Igbo brothers and sisters from Asaba all the way to Afikpo. |
My Igbo brethren, in all seriousness, I am getting a little worried. No, I am getting very worried how we Igbos are becoming more marginalized than ever before. I have supported GEJ, but it would seem that something nefarious is amidst. Other groups are trying to use the Ijaw to block the Igbo from our glory. We all should be worried, because they are trying to back us into a corner. And I refuse to be backed in a corner. Our politicians have been bought off by the highest bidder and we Igbos have been left leaderless. We need to do something before it is too late! As eku_bear has stated, the Yoruba are not even heavily PDP member yet they benefit from this zoning. What kind of nonsense is this? |
But let me be serious. Igbo brothers and sisters, listen to a comment from our very own brother. Clement Okonkwo - "The Ibos knew that they are being maginalized in the democarctic participation of Nigeria and it happens so that most of the time, the ibos simply agreed to get along with others irrespective of grave consequences. many atimes, such sacrifices were deliberately with hope of bonding Nigerians together even when the controversy were mere ploy. This time arround, the Ibos are not longer considered even as partners in the power-shift. Logically speaking, since allNigerians fought to subdue the]Ibos, they are only negotiating amongst themselves so that they could not be fragmented of fall apart in the Nigerian union of federation. One may be curious to ask, is the war still going on ? Whom would you complain to?" |
Chyz*:Aunty Dora is really getting these people up in arms. An Igbo woman is able to make these so called men get upset. Pathetic to say the least. ![]() |
alj harem:Let me start. You are my inferior. ![]() If you have Igbo blood in you which I highly doubt, it has been corrupted by that Kanuri desert rat blood. However, you are worthy enough to be my gateman or security. Just say "YES BOSS!" |
eku_bear:Blasphemy! How dare you slap 30+ million people in the face with that statement. The only people who can descend Nigeria into a war. |
Onlytruth:I always laugh at when they say this. Everyone knows that many Igbos feel that they are superior to other groups that reside in Nigeria. That is why many people have often referred to the Igbos as egotistical. Igbos see each other as kings and queens. Many of us feel that we are better than other people. Sad but true. However, I never felt inferior to anyone. It goes against our culture. |
grafikdon:I agree with you 100%. However, I am wondering what you mean by the bolded statement. |
