Forwetinnah:It's not up to Wike or Amaechi, they got only one vote to cast. It's not up to Buhari, he hasn't got any vote. It's up to registered and eligible voting Rivers people. Anything outside that is fraud, and will be hammered again by the court. Only a fool will actually believe that Wike won the last election with a mind blowing 1.2m majority. Each of them will be lucky to score 300k in a proper election. |
Beehshorp:What makes one a good party and a bad party? Comedians! |
Demmocrats:What about him is no defence. Jonathan has his chance to probe those on your list but decided not to and was busy kissing their backsides and calingl some of them his mentor and father. If Buhari decided to probe only Jonathan's government as with his election promise, that is what he is doing. Let the one coming after Buhari probe him, or if the person likes, let him dug up Tafawa Balewa and probe him. Am sick of hearing this, what about him excuses. |
lumeneng22:If you read what they said before commenting, they did not believe that they did something wrong but are returning the money based on moral standing and now pursuing any compensation the right way it should have, instead of Jonathan acting like father Christmas with public money in his care. In a sane society any such out of court settlement should had been handled by the military legal department team and the legal representatives of the newspapers with an appointed judge or magistrate as the arbiter in an arbitration setting and nothing whatsoever to do with Jonathan or Dasuki. People often forget that Dasuki is a political appointee, not a civil servant. |
bettercreature:You are absolutely right. Most so called business tycoons in Nigeria are just governmental money launders. But corruption, just like most sicknesses that requires a major surgery, you have to go through and endure some pain in order to get better. If you are trying to avoid pain, you cannot repair a broken bones. But once the bone is healed, you quickly forget the previous pain or you cannot even remember it. |
tiwasiaife:Assuming that your theory is right. So the editor makes the corporate decision instead of the board and the managing director? |
doctokwus:It's a good start that warranted commendation. Never in Nigeria culture that people returned illegal money, admits error or wrong. May this trend continues. |
MichaelChaplain:When will some of you grow some brain and stop following thieves that don't care about your existence? Instead of wasting your time with APC and PDP, why not be mad with anyone accused of stealing from you. This people stole from you and your future generations. Drum this into your skull. That's the only thing you should mind and care about, nothing else. They stole from me!!!!!!!! |
ikenigel:You sounded like victims of 419; who were victims because of their own greed and trying to reap where they never sowed. No one can set you up to collect money you never merited if you are not already corrupt and greedy. You cannot setup a diehard vegetarian with a piece of meat. Just like Jonathan, another futile attempt to redefine corruption. |
ReignSilva:Is that what you planned to tell your wife when she ask for divorce? I don't want divorce and if you insisted I will adopt your family name. ![]() Maybe you haven't heard of Congo and D.R Congo, South and North Korea. What a stupi.d comment. |
legendsilver:Be more specific, there is no place on earth known as South South. |
Xetima:In law, due to various technicalities, every case is decided on it's merit. That's why the card reader maybe relevant in one case and then irrelevant in another until such a time manual accreditation is totally faced out. The reasons the APC candidate was in court may vary with the reason the Labour party candidate was. This is what lay people do not understand. |
Anytime I visited home and see Nigerians arguing about Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal or most recently Barcelona or Real Madrid fans, thanks to satellite television I find my self amused with our colonial mentality in all things, in this case, sports. Last time I was home, one of my youngest nephews asked me what club I supports, when I said Enugu Rangers, his young face was a picture. He asked me the big why? My response was: am an Igbo man, I was born in Port Harcourt and raised in Enugu until the war broke out. After the war, Rangers was the proudest thing we got left. Eventhough I had lived in England for over 40 years, my love for Rangers has not waned. I still remember trips to watch Rangers in Egypt, Senegal and against Horoya of Guinea in Conakry or many of their FA cup triumphs. I go to Tottenham Hotspur games, even a season ticket holders most seasons because of my wife who had been going to Spurs games since she was 5 with the whole of her family but am not a fan , let a lone supporter. When my good friend John Chiedozie became the first African born to play in the English top league when he was signed by Spurs in the mid 80s could not even change me to support a team I had no affiliation with. Like some one said, how many Spanish, Italian or French Chelsea or Arsenal or Liverpool/United fans/ supporters do you know? |
kingdompropty:Under GEJ especially the few months before the election, they were printing load of naira which they used to buy every single dollar available, which they used to bribe whoever is bribable. The remaining, they hoarded, too afraid to put it in the bank for fear of being caught, too afraid to travel out with it without being caught at the airport. Am not an economist because it's a simple theory that scarcity creates rise in the price of the item in scarcity. There is no dollar around because of what I told you above but too much naira chasing the few dollars. That's why exchange rate is against the naira at the moment, plus almost 60% fall in the oil price against average price of $110 the previous 10 years. When things gets tough people or government often dip into their reserves but the previous government dipped into the reserve when oil was selling at a higher price, rather than saving, they borrowed heavily externally and internally. Hence, the current government is under obligations to service those loans even if crude oil sells for a penny. That's the current reality. How I wished that an average Nigerian is properly educated to be able to reason objectively without being tailored by some political affiliations. Proper education is not just having a certificate. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:If you guys are really objective without the usual sentiments of APC and PDP, judging by what happened in Bayelsa, from my view as an observer, I think Wike got a fight in his hand to be 're-elected and I will tell you my reasons. I was shocked that the Bayelsa result was so close despite, the Dickson's incumbency factor, Jonathan factor, the fact that all present and former senators, house of rep' and state assembly members, plus commissioners non is APC, yet I personally thought that they will wipe the floor with Sylva but it never happened. All we witnessed was a very close race which if Southern Ijaw wasn't cancelled, who knows and still inconclusive. Some said it was rigging but you cannot successfully rigged an election where you got a zero support. I personally believed that the introduction of the card reader machine has killed over voting. So coming back to Rivers State, APC has more structure and presence in Rivers than in Bayelsa where the poll was so close. Nigerians are known to be disloyal people. If within months, many Bayelsans can abandon Jonathan and vote for Sylva, what do you think will happen in Rivers with Amaechi's position as a minister and all election in Rivers almost going to a're-run? Wike can still win in a free and fair elections but with a small margin unlike his 1.2 million majority last time. He no longer control the security forces, no longer has Mrs Jonathan to throw her weight about, no longer has followers because he was a minister personally favoured by Aso Rocks, there is no Jonathan presidential campaign running side by side with all the sentiments, the impact of Dasuki affair etc. By the time the new election is held, he may no longer has the majority in the state assembly, house of representatives and the Senate because of the 'scheduled re-run of all the elections. If I was him, I would have gone for the 're-run now than later. Going to the supreme court is a bad idea. It may buy him time but it may also give his opponents time to strengthen and consolidate more with few more to decamp to the other side as we saw in Bayelsa where a serving commissioner even decamped, hungry traditional rulers Will no longer feel intimidated to change camp, especially from the riverine areas. This is how I see it as an neutral observer. |
HIGHESTPOPORI:Former governor of Rivers State governor, Magnus Abe, I think is in the APC and all former members of Rivers State house of assembly? |
DickDastardly:That's better, now do you still hero worship? |
Funpeter:Tell them please. |
This must be Arsene Wenger's fault. Lol This a huge lesson that football world is afunny world and big egos is always very short sighted. Who would have thought that Ranieri of all managers will plunge the deadly knife that sent Mourinho packing? How Mourinho was so disrespectful to Ranieri after the man build the squad he inherited in first stint at Chelsea and took all the glories. What a karma! |
ikechukwu354:It's not down to the government. Their job is to bring the culprit to the court and the rest is down to the judiciary judges and magistrates. So you got to be realistic. |
David Mark benevolent? He is a public servant well paid to make laws that will have direct impact in the lives of ordinary masses not making two people ministers. How does Abba Moro being a minister benefit the grandmothers of the idi.ots making these statements in their villages? How does open university equates to an achievement of a supposed law makers? Scholarship when those with truck loads of degrees cannot get a job driving lorries? Benevolent my azz! They make him sounds like father Christmas |
Omotolu:I thought electoral matters ends in the court of appeal? |
Chanchit:If the news is true, he doesn't have to signed anything if Buhari is not interfering in judicial affairs. Nnamdi Kanu has every right to aspire for Biafra independent with maturity, intelligently and wisely with talking trash. I will love it if he can study the Scotland approach and follow their foot step. When you have a superior argument and know how best to express it, you can weaken the man with guns and can even convince him to agree with you. The stage Biafra is now, we can achieve our freedom without having to even talk tough. |
fweshh:Gosh! Doesn't the Court of Appeal ast port of call for after election matters? |
jakiedudu:No one is falling for your blackmail. As a former head of state is he legally entitled to the cars from the federal government? The money Dasuki was distributing was specifically for political campaign, so GEJ gave Dasuki cars to help Buhari to defeat Jonathan? ![]() When Buhari suffered that assassination attempt, it was the same people now that told us then that the attempt never happened, that is was a hoax to get sympathy but actually went on to replace the his official cars damaged in the attack. They think we are all fools. No one is falling for their blackmail, which they prempted with the Buhari wife's watchgate right from the beginning. In Nigeria, once you catch a thief, their defence is always finding any possible way to say that you are as bad as me and that settles everything. |
I knew that the ATM gang will not go down quietly, they will fight back with anything they can lay their hands on, including blackmail but aren't going to wash. |
DONSMITH123:Why do we need to know if you have not. Guilty conscience all complain about their own shadows. “However, on account of recent information available to me, I now have cause to believe that the Federal Government is desperate and may have finalized plans to silence me.How can they be desperate when you live there in Abuja and call press conference every other day? “As someone who has been a private person, having not taken any public office, the choice of where, how and when to invest and conduct my personal business remains my prerogative.Private person and you are the spokesperson for the self anointed biggest party in Africa ? sorry son. “In this regard, I note that I never had any contract dealings with the immediate past Federal Government or any of its security apparatus,” he said.I thought that you are a private person, why do we need to know? The PDP spokesperson said in the course of his duties as the National Publicity Secretary of the party, former President Jonathan invited him and directed him to carry out some assignments relating to his office and which “he duly funded”.Here we go! This is the main reason, you carried some naughty errand for president ATM and that errand is causing you some sleep, so you decided to pre-empt them before they knocked on your door? Smart move bro! Attack first is your first line of defence. You are learning fast from Fayose. |
Owerri: Hotel Aka Ekpe Aka Nri, Filling Stations Aka Ekpe Aka Nri. |
A knicker will always be short. There are no such thing as a short knicker Mr Fayose. Madness they say, start with one talking to himself, followed by choices in clothing. |
olokpa11:What image? |
omonnakoda:List out your supposed record or forever be silent. And who are my brethrens? |
maxtamazin:If you have train line in your local government, then you have the license to talk. Tell me any direct impact Jonathan's misrule had on you and your immediate family? List them . 25kg of election rice excluded. |

Are ministers not representing the federal govt
