Great fight....I just wish PMB could channel this kind of energy towards our economy also, seriously our debt as a nation is on the ugly side of trillions of dollars, the prices of goods as gone up due to the present exchange rate of $1=N300. Even if we recover this money from Dasuki and co. At the rate we are Snail balling the impact might not be felt atall economically, devoting 70%-80% of his time just to chase corrupt politicians will not help him to fulfill his numerous campaign Promises
Your economy doesn't require any energy to run as it run itself through the price of crude oil. If any energy at all is required, it's the energy to make sure that public money remains public money and not shared by few individuals like the last government. Japanese economy is currently in it 3rd recession in 5 years, Chinese economy has dropped 4% in the last one year and Buhari is not their president.
Naira will recover the day billion they stole from the treasury which they used to buy up every dollar and hoarded in their houses is recovered.

Politics / Re: Battle Between Awolowo, Akintola Led To 1966 Coup- Yakassai by Eziachi: 6:19pm On Jan 15, 2016
Dojupyo:
If there was corruption in Nigeria during Shagari's regime, what do we have now? Erosion angry ... As far as I know Shehu Shagari's regime was the best back then, it was democratic in nature.. Before those sagas overthrew his regime via a military coup led by Sani Abacha on Dec .31, 1983 or whoever the militant was sad

They no even let the man rule for long, of which Nigeria would have been a better place...

The clash between Awolowo and Akintola divided the party into factions..
Awolowo who was the leader of the AG Party, decided to contest for a legislative seat at the federal level with the aim of becoming the first Prime minister in Nigeria, conceded the office of the Regional Premier to Akintola who was his deputy, unfortunately for baba Awolowo, he lost at the center..
Trouble started over who was to lead the government in the Western region, whether na the premier or national leader of AG...
To the best of my knowledge, that was what caused their clash which led to the declaration of state of emergency in the region by the Federal Government
It's either you were yet unborn during Shagari's NPN government or you had been in coma and just woke up.

I don't support corruption.
But my question is : When is EFCC going to open APC's can of worms and or skeleton cupboards?
Whenever they like. That should be non of your concern. When armed robbers in Aba are apprehended, you never asked when those in Okitipupa will be apprehended before Aba robbers are dealt with?
The reason these rogues are bold enough to be even having an opinion was based on the strength they get from comments like yours. But if they perceived that everyone is against them and what they had been alleged to have done including their own family, their whole arrogant attitude will change and they will be pleading for mercy and forgiveness. Even when SDP people were bold enough to admit that they collected N100m but vowed not to return. In a society where stealing is a crime, they will be lynched by the masses. When PDP or whoever returns to power, if ever, let them fight corruption as they sees fit. The only people complaining are the rogues themselves and their ignorant supporters who cannot forget about politics and tribalism to recognize their real enemy.

Tribalism is the elephant in the room that will keep bedevilling this contraption called Nigeria.

Even the blind can see that Buhari is pushing the nation close to the precipice.

How will this country forge ahead as a united in the future when APC leaves office tomorrow and another party comes to power.

Does the ignorant crowd willing Buhari to continue with tyranny and repression consider that should the opposition win power in the nearest future, Nigeria will most likely become history since there would be retaliation from the victims of the current persecution?

When was the last time you mourn about the so called tyranny over petty thieves awaiting trials over years at prisons all over Nigeria?
*Instead of having issues with Buhari, a decent person should be focusing his anger on the thieves. I really don't get you guys. It goes to show how corruption has eaten into the fabric of Nigeria society that a decent person should have an atom of sympathy for alleged rogue but calling the perceived sheriff name due to some useless party and tribal leaning.

Who cares if it's going half sided. What is important is that it is going at all, unlike before when thieves are given federal contracts, willy nilly presidential pardon and national honours. No government will get everything right. When the next perfect government come, let that one finish what the present imperfect one has started.

I see your profile picture, I think I understand now, you can't see anything good in this current administration or the party through which it rose to power. I am Igbo too, proudly. Fact is, I can't put my life in the hands of someone who has a foreign passport, whose family all reside abroad, what happens if he deserts us? Let's say am in with you guys.. It pains me to say this, I rather live in a country where their is hope for a better future than a country where hoping is a torture to your conscious being. If my people learn to love themselves then a sovereign state if actualized will be a force to reckon with, Love. Go see the present state of the Eastern people, you are left to wonder if governors take care of their people atall, that's why we are scattered everywhere In the world in millions, there's nothing back home bro! Just the old still struggling for land and the like and ready to kill if need be. I can't live in a land filled with hatred, jealousy, backbiting, inter/intra family wars etc from my own people and see hope in the future, so is true with my people as of today, then what happens when we live together as country men, I fear what will become of us. I speak out of experience.. I see hope in this country Nigeria, give it time bro, things go better. We live in the 21st century, countries are harnessing the advancement in science and technology to better their lives, we need to look ahead.

God bless Nigeria.
If am honest, I have no idea what you are talking about.

Am I really missing something? As an Igbo man, I feel angry when I read mindless comments like this. Metuh true son of Igboland and bold in what sense? The idiot in custody has just incriminated himself and Jonathan with the nonsense he just vomitted. Where did Jonathan get N400m to give him for an assignment? Jonathan is public servant on a monthly salary and Metuh is a private citizen, so what is their relationship all about that he should carried an assignment for the government in cash outside budget implementation?
Igbo culture is abhorrent to stealing of any sort and despised thieves in all shapes or form. Metuh based on what he has admitted by himself of doing is a disgrace to Igboland and abomination. In the ancient times, he would had be banished to the evil forest where he will commit suicide and rot away without the benefit of a burial.
Pinheads like you should desist in defecation of Igboland and its culture because of your mindless politics of PDP and APC. People like you are not Ndigbo or knows what Igboland represents.
After all we knew now, some idiots are still following rogues that has stolen your meaningless futures and that of your family just because of politics. How silly can some people be. Some of this generation is totally damned and bereft of any moral decency.

The figures sounds about right. No landslide or seaslide but a reasonable winning and losing figures unlike in the past when 99% of registered voters were supposed to have voted and the winner taking 95% of it all.
Considering the incumbency factor, ex president factor, all state/federal assembly and senators being PDP and only few months ago they got almost 100% of the vote in the presidential election, the other parties should be proud of what they have achieved and congratulate the winner.

Yes and thats because apart from the voters who were meant to cast their votes, you also have the party members and loyalists of PDP...are they saying these people didnt cast their votes?
If thats the case, then it means no election took place in those units conducted yesterday...
It's not automatic that they will vote for their supposed party against their personal choice. Remember the 16 is greater than 19 incident. Didn't some of the members promised to vote certain way? And where did they actually voted in a secret ballot?

Here am I thinking that it democracy through a secret ballot process, not an award.
In 2001 George W Bush defeated Al Gore in his home state of Tennessee and Clinton's home state of Arkansas. Nothing wrong educating yourself a bit before you start confusing your family. By the way Jonathan's name isn't on the ballot paper. In 2011 it was the PDP that win the governorship in Katsina despite Buhari.

Whenever he does, your next question will be when will he review another. It's step by step. If those before him had done something or even anything, he will have little to review today.
So, join and support the war against corruption rather asking stu.pid questions of when and will.

@op I will ignore whatever you intent could be but I will answer you question honestly. First it is a myth and stereotype to assert that non Igbos do not reside in huge numbers across Igbo towns and cities.
There are a huge non Igbo population in cities like Enugu, Umuahia, port Harcourt, Aba, Owerri, Orlu, Onitsha and Nnewi to mention a few. They are mainly artisans and the rest are civil servants in places like Enugu and Port Harcourt were they work for the small federal establishments like the prison, police, customs and universities.
Trying to measure others with the Igbos in terms of traveling would amount to exercise in futility because it's natural for an Igbo to travel because he loved it, not because where he is heading is heaven.
It's like asking why non Nigerian Africans do not live in Nigeria, when it's obvious that they do but lived very low profile life and Nigerians on the other hand are very comfortable announcing their presence wherever they are across Africa.
When you go deeper outside artisans and civil servants as to why non Igbos do not settle in Igboland? The answer has to do with lack of incentive to do so in terms infractratures necessary for conducting business and investment like sea or dry ports, international airports, lack foreign missions and consulates. No federal establishment had its main or head office in Igboland. Just to name a few: Federal ministries, customs, Power stations, Dams, police, army, navy, air force, road safety, postal services, immigration, telecom, refinery, petrol chemicals. I can go on till tomorrow and non of these agencies has strong root worth mentioning across Igboland and these are things that attracts people or investors and may I add no train lines or railway services since 1940s in Enugu, Okigwe and Umuahia that transport live animals from the north. Terrible federal roads or lack of it, a dead trap Niger bridge.
So with all these absentees, who in their right mind would like to come and live if not only resilient and dogged Igbo people who are use to coping under conditions others cannot bear for a week in Nigeria?

Anything meaningful in Igboland is down to community efforts, generosity of wealthy individuals and lately the state governments since 1999.
The second reason is the cost of living in igboland is very high. For instance, a piece of land in Onitsha can get you an equivalent of three in other parts of Nigeria because traditionally no Igbo man ever sales his land easily even if he is poverty ridden because he believed that one day he will be rich enough to need it and if not his children will one day need it. Lol
It's a very competitive society that non Igbos find it impossible to exist. That caused many Igbo themselves to relocate not mainly to other parts of Nigeria but across the continent and made it uneasy for many non indigenous people to settle because how on earth will a civil servant be able to afford even a flat to live in a typical Igbo town when relying solely on his salary?

Every Igbo civil servant that I know, who is a civil servants treats their salariy as an extra earnings or pocket money and had never rely on it as their main source of income as they had other businesses. Many non Igbo do not do the same.
Finally, language in Igboland it's either Engli-Igbo or English. Most non Igbos has no interest in learning the local language. I know a Yoruba man from a local mosque in Orlu, who had lived there for more than 50 years but do not speak Igbo. The first thing an Igbo man will do is to learn your language, eat your food, wear your clothes, take your name for his kids. How many Yoruba or northerners has their child an Igbo first or middle name?
I always say that vast majority of Nigerian do know nothing about Nigeria especially Igbo man or Igboland because they are blinded by inherent stereotypes of what they heard or were taught, rather than reality.

It confirms that my fear that the massacre of the Shiites was a well-orchestrated plan by Sunni Muslims to eliminate a rival minority Muslim faction. The silence of the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs about the whereabout of the Zakzaky also affirms it all. Anyway they(the Sunnis) should know that, 'they that sew the wind shall reap the whirlwind'.
