NafeesaAA: Sri Lanka has ended terrorism, making it the first country in the modern age to have done so.
In military circles around the world, the “Sri Lankan Option” for counter-insurgency is discussed with admiration. Its basic tenets are:
- Deny access to the media - Deny access to the United Nations - Deny access to human rights groups - Isolate your opponents and kill them as quickly as possible - Segregate and terrify the survivors—or, ideally, leave no witnesses at all
Should we do this to the enemies of Nigeria? i.e; ISWAP, IPOB, Bandits, Boko Haram and their Sponsors?
Our constitution would have to be temporarily suspended... Are we really ready to end all of this NONSENSE?
Oh I remember , we will need to isolate the president himself, that man has no balls. O blame Old age. Remember Nigeria isn't Sri lanka. And also remember it took Sri Lanka close to 30years to be able to deal with the Tamil Tiger Rebel Group. Lastly the situation in Nigeria is far different to that of Sri lanka |

With such looses, the NA is being ridiculed by BH & ISWAP time and again. Lessons are not learnt from past debacles and the top brass does not implement rapid changes needed with a foe who learns and adapts rapidly also. Seriously Nigeria is an economic giant in the region but your armed forces are becoming a laughing stock. When I see your defense budget i am amazed, you have hardward most armies would dream of but yet time and again we still hear news on huge looses on men and équipements. I having been reading here about the need for missile frigates and destroyers. I ask myself what's the need to spend such amount of money if the common soldier is facing difficulties in the North. Now there is another crises in the south, how would the NA faces all these challenges. I really see hard times ahead for the NA and its allies in the region. The NA needs to channel more resources to support foot soldiers in the ground and implement rapid changes. RIP TO ALL THOSE VALUABLE MEN WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE IN THIS HOD FORSAKEN WAR. |

JOSCOFELIX: i heard the death of idress debby on monday afternoon and the picture. but because i was not sure about the death i could not post it. but is online now. i repeat france government in involved in the death of debby. from my intel and investigation debby was killed by is cousin brother. back with france. debby made a visit to abuja few month ago about france bring a new policy that will affect chad and Sahel with debby refused to accept the policy. i will not go more than this. I am not sure of that, France was one of the most reliable allies of Idriss Deby. rance won't and does not benefit in any way from the killing of deby. was their position in chad threatened, NOPE, Chad was a buffer against terrorists in the Sahel region and Deby was one of those who contributed the most to the Sahel G5 armed forces. We don't know what happened but I guess it was an ambush. |

ugo4u: It was a Coup attempt, he died instantly as he was shot at point blank range, forget the story concoted of him dying after sustaining battle injuries. His son immediately executed four Generals and the personal bodyguard of Deby, who hatched the plot. Deby came to power via killings taking over from Habré, he too have gone the same way. The 37 year old Mahatma Deby have taken over and will conduct elections after 180 days(contravening the Chadians constitution; Article 17 to be specific which mandates a fresh elections to occur after 45 to 60days incase a sitting President dies after an election). Invariably speaking, Another dictator have been born and the French have no issue with this. How they decide to run their affairs in that country is their business, what we ought to concern ourselves is finding a way to support Mahatma to hold the fort like his father and even do better else if Chad fails all our efforts against terrorism will come to nought.. Source of info. I read he instead died from an ambush during his trip to the battle front. My question is how did the rebels know about route he is going to use. Guess someone from his inner circle leaked the secret. |

The Chadians military just destroyed one of the rebel columns that left lybia and was heading for Ndjamena. We are paying the effects of the fall of Kadhafi. Most many weapons of the ex-lybian army are in the hands of many of these terrorist groups in mali, niger and Chad.

From what I read seems like the Chadians military just destroyed one of the rebel group that was heading to Ndjamena from libya. From my point of view the destabilization caused by europeans and the US in libya would keep having cascading effect on other countries down south.

giles14: is it the same T_84 that was ordered and wanted by the thais and the pakistani, or is it the same btr4 regretted by the iraqis. Go check well the ukrainians are a shadow of themselves. If I may ask did the algerians not reject mig-29 supplied by russia some years back. The btr-4 rejected by iraq does not make it a bad weapon. The indonesian army is using the btr-4. The thai army is using the oplot-m tanks. The only issue they had was ukraine not being able to respect the delivery schedule which was agreed on. I don't deny russia would defeat ukraine in an all out war but don't joke when someone is fighting for his country. U might be suprise. |

giles14: which ukraine , that country is a shadow of it's self. Relying on the west for hands out,or it's btr 60,T-64s and Su-27s . The ukrainian military is worst than it's 2014 form.
Well heard they bought turkish Tb2 drones, would love to see how they fair again a superior force. Which ukraine are you talking about. The one in 2021 or 2014. Most takes of the ukrainian army uses oplot-m tanks, where did the nigerian army bought the btr-4 from? Are you serious. The readiness of the ukrainian army presently is far better than what it was in 2021. As for the ukrainian airforce, most of their aircraft are maintained and upgraded by the ukrainian defense industry. And please also know the mass of russian army still use the t-72mb3 which is an upgrade from the basic t-72. Only elite units in the russian armed forces use the t-90 and not even the modernized t-90ms which india is buying. Yeah Russia is a force to reckon with but don't underestimate the ukrainians. |

kabe1: Apparently Russian has given passports to 400,000 people in the Eastern part of Ukraine.
Russia would decimate them if the launch a full scale operation.
Russia would also not allow Ukraine join NATO. I don't think It would be that easy for Russia to sweep easily Ukraine aside. Yeah, Ukraine would be defeated in a conflict with Russia but it won't be an easy defeat and Russia would have a lot to lose in such a conflict. Remember if the Ukrainian army isn't that of 2014 and if Russia had not intervened, Ukraine would have crushed those separatists by now. |

lebuhsi: A whopping 70% of that sum goes to recurrent expenditure, without periodical interventions for the procurement of military hardware like we saw in 2014($2bn, voicemail) and 2018($1bn, the super Tucano deal, MBTs, UCAVs e.t.c) they can't really do much, we have been paying for only 3 JF-17s for 3 years now! Are you serious , wow wow. That's really much |

kabe1: This means Nigeria's Defence budget for 2021 is nearly 5 billion dollars.
That's not bad if very well utilized.
I hope the government only does deals. 5 billion dollar as defence budget. That's more than some EU countries but yet swaps of Nigeria are still in BH and Iswap's hands. I thing the NA does not focus on what is essential to win this war. Just with a billion I think BH would be history if it is well rationalised and focus is given on investing in APC for troops on the front no those toyota pick up we see everyday, communication and also intel gathering. We should not also forget if the population of those region are not treated well and investment done on infrastructures, these fools if bh and iswap won't lack recruits. |

Cameroonian AgustaWestland AW-109E Power. Four ordered, crew still on training. From what see there is a surge in BH attacks in the north due to the focus of the government on the crises in the Southwest and Northwest of the country. Though the military aspect of the conflit has died down it still pulls huge resources in man power for policing.
