Senegal had the easiest part to any AFCON final in recent memory. I don't understand how Egypt was able to eliminate Morocco and Ivory Coast?

If he had "just ighalo", nothing would have changed. We didn't lose the Tunisia game because of a dearth of strikers, we lost because our wingers were dull, we were unlucky, our keeper was undecisive and our midfield was thin.

You could even argue Ighalo's absence contributed to the fluid way we played in the group stage. The Ighalo I saw against Cape Verde would not have pressed and created opportunities the way Awoniyi did against Egypt. Ighalo and Nacho starting together is a disaster we have seen multiple times especially at the 2018 WC, both are not vicious enough to lead the press from the front.

How many goals did your strikers scored? What did Awoniyi do when it mattered most? Guy, rest!

Nobody should ever underestimate what Equaveon did at AFCON with just few days of preparation! Imagine if he had just Ighalo. I am not even talking about Oshimen, Dennis, Amoo etc. See the Egypt we totally outplayed! I am tipping Egypt to win the cup. Ivory coast should have won in our absence.

Ighalo did not carry us 2019, dead that talk. The number of big chances he missed surpassed the goals he scored by far. Remeber vs. Guinea where he refused to square the ball to Musa for a tap in? vs. SA where he missed a one-on-one Chuks set up nicely for him? the only game he really carried us in was that Cameroon game... His other games had goals from deflected shots, PKs and tap-ins.

What about the group stage? How many goals did your other players scored? Your utterances scream entitlement.

Yes our strength has always been the wings but I remember saying that we should develop other strengths so that we don't become a one pony trick team.

All the great sides utilize wing play. It's normal in football. It's not as if the 94 team invented it. Counter attacking football has bested the best of teams and managers. Without the red card and lack of quality upfront we would have won. Now Oshimen and Dennis will be back why hire a man selling groceries in Portugal for the past 2 years when you have a man that understands the game.

Equavoen's tactic was spot on. In the first half, Algeria had one shot on target which came in the first 5 minutes.
Their tactic is to neutralize our attack and hit us on a counter. Equavoen knew that's why our forwards did not press in the first half and Moses withdrew a bit backward.
This is a knockout stage you don't just go all out against the 2nd best team in Africa.

In the 2nd half, we decided to be more proactive because Equavoen could see what the Tunisians were trying to do.
Iheanacho lost the ball and they countered, a long pass to Aina's position just needs Aina to trap the ball but he lost it. These are the little loss of concentrations that made Rohr prefer Awaziem to Aina.
Before our backline could recover boom a straight waving shot, took a bounce in front of our goalkeeper. A routine save with two palms but Okoye went with one (Bad positioning).

Equavoen saw a need to press their backline which Iheanacho and Awoniyi were not doing. He brought on Olayinka to press and Iwobi to control the midfield (Switching to 4-3-3) formation. Simon to drive in and Sanusi to go wide. Same with Chukweze and Aina. As we began to take charge of the game Iwobi miss-timed his control and ... red card.

Nevertheless, we maintained the game plan and there were several occasions Simon drove in and Sanusi drifted wide to receive the ball.
This game plan allowed us to press the Tunisians even with 10 men, and when Sadiq came on, Olayinka took Chukweze position drifting in and Aina going wide. That was how Olayinka was able to locate Sadiq unfortunately he shot wide (P.S: Sadiq and Olayinka gave it all, pressing, running, and dribbling).

Simon was able to locate Ndidi twice just outside the 18-yard box and he shot unbelievably wide. You don't give such space to a player like Partey or Kessie and won't pay dearly. Ndidi's shooting let us down. Comoros scored a free-kick from 30 yards but we have no player that can score from 20 yards. Wow!

Equavoen got his tactic spot on as it allowed us to control the game without headache, unlike our previous qualifiers.

It was the qualities of our players that let us down. A keeper that can't save a direct shot, a striker that failed to convert a through ball, a DM that can't shoot, and a 10 that got a red card.
Even with 10 men, we had the chance to equalize. Hardluck but as Iwobi wrote on his IG page, the Super Eagles shall be back. Patience my people!

If you have been following Super Eagles and her players for quite some time, you are given 40 names to select only 28 leaving out 12. Are you telling me you will toil all day, adding sleepless nights to it, to pick a 28 man squad.

Ndidi shooting off target from such proximity to goal is the reason big clubs won't look at him.
