Let me start by saying,irrespective of Atiku's image in the US,we have substantial human and natural resources to grow Nigeria.Buhari is surrounded with criminals and looters,so what makes him better.As well,his travelling up and down the world,what has it done for us? I don't believe a US report should decide for Nigeria on the leaders to choose.China's economy is growing and we can align with them more(carefully with intelligent heads though) and tap opportunities.
Well,for those thinking Atiku can't win votes in south west,don't be so confident of that.My views are: 2019,would be a delicate era especially for Bola Tinubu as a god father in s/west politics.It is an open secret that the Abuja caucus of APC(Amosun,Ajimobi,Fayemi et all) are not on very good terms with Tinubu which is the complete opposite of their relationship with Buhari.Also,Obasanjo isn't pleased with Buhari and will go with any other option apart from Buhari(Atiku not his first choice anyways).Meanwhile,other presidential aspirants do not have the national appeal like Buhari and Atiku,likewise the parties they are coming from aren't leading parties like APC and PDP(Donald Duke,OBY e.t.c)Personally,I said to few people that I feel Tinubu played an outside role in the emergence of Atiku as PDP's aspirant(It is an open secret that they are friends and all through Atiku's defection from PDP,he never talked about Tinubu as a factor for leaving because he left at a time himself and Tinubu were being sidelined).As such,Tinubu will be very comfortable with Atiku as president knowing that Buhari and co can't be trusted anything from 2019 upwards.As well,any presidential ambition he(Tinubu) has ahead of 2023 would be so threatened by other blocs within the APC.He wouldn't mind his political relevance rather than a risky presidential aspiration and an unpredictable political journey from 2019.
As such,Tinubu and Obasanjo might be on a mutual course of seeing Buhari out by whatever means,even if it means supporting Atiku.I won't expect Atiku to bring any charges against Obasanjo if he wins the presidency.Tinubu has been able to get his candidate win the Ogun governorship slot ahead of Amosun's candidate and that should play a part.I am not saying PDP will win the s/west,but the margin will be considerably minimal that results from other zones will be very vital in the final results.Tinubu wouldn't mind trading off s/west and keeping his dear Lagos,especially for his friend Atiku.He has more personal relationship with Atiku though than Buhari and he knows the battle of ousting Ambode wouldn't have gone well with the presidency even as his political son,Osinbajo was rooting for an Ambode second term...

I didn't say people should vote for Sanwo-Olu.I was only addressing the mistake that Ambode just made. If other political parties can come up with a better candidate and get Lagosians buy into their plans,why not? As far as Lagos is moving forward and living conditions are okay,let the best man rule Lagos whichever party he would come from.(2015,I wasn't in support of APC or PDP,I tweeted and talked about how Nigerians should see beyond the two parties and look into what other contestants have too.It is so sad that democracy is a joke in Nigeria.We just have agbada wearing leaders,but we aren't practicing democracy in the real sense.I told Bashorun Dele Momodu about my reservations for Buhari in 2014,but he said I should look into his character and person.I asked about those backing him,and our discussion ended there.I believe you understand?)
However,Ambode can't benefit from nepotism in his first tenure and start making noise now.Is he claiming to love Lagos and Lagosians that much? If not for selfish reasons,if the people that brought you say they don't want you again,then leave.He wasn't a politician in the first place,and it took a lot of in-fighting which he was privy to, to get him the ticket at first.Yes,he has the option of first refusal for re-election but it isn't mandatory that the leaders must endorse him for re-election.He should go ahead,contest the primaries.If he wins,no wahala(fight continues).If he loses,the ball is in his court.He can decamp to another party but does he have the political structure to fight? Would he be bold enough to attack Tinubu personally if he decamps? I know people like Wike are bent on trading off PDPs presidential ambition but will Ambode be able to campaign against Buhari/Osinbajo who were supporting him all along?
If he fails to decamp early,APC will hold on from starting impeachment moves until after PDPs governorship primaries.Will the governor-elect of PDP then be willing to drop his ambition for Ambode, especially, if it is Jimi Agbaje a serial contestant who might feel this is his chance to take advantage of the cracks in APC.Politically,he just lost the battle. Which ever party he goes to,he won't find it easy to win the gubernatorial. APC has the biggest political leaders in Lagos,there is nothing PDP and co can say.Tinubu will frustrate him,the leaders will frustrate him,Tinubu will get the CP of Lagos changed and his security won't be guaranteed.
Finally,if elections won't be compromised(Osun as a case study),maybe LAGOSIANS can take their fate into their hands. However,who can be governor in Lagos without having people like Tinubu and other leaders behind him? Except there is a MAJOR CRACK internally in the Tinubu camp and Federal forces turn their back on Tinubu and his cohorts,it will take a lot to get Lagos free.

Ambode just shot himself there. You don't do that especially in politics.I am sure those behind him(political leaders and scholars) would tell him this later. He should have addressed other matters,sell himself at the last opportunity to the world especially Lagosians. He shouldn't have gone that far to hit at Sanwo-olu personally.If he was bold and fully ready to fight it all out,he should have truthfully answered Dele Momodu's questions which were thrown to him.He should have dared Tinubu and the entire GAC by saying truly,all was/is not well between them. Ambode was brought into politics,forget about his years in the civil service.Yes,Tinubu might be playing the godfather role,but if you know him well,he doesn't take decisions alone.Tinubu doesn't ignore and look down on the leaders that made him their LEADER.I know he regrets his decision to bring forth Ambode in 2014,ahead of 2015 elections. He wanted to use him to spite Fashola because of Fashola's issues with him...He totally ignored things that Baba Eto,Fashola,Banire and few others said about Ambode. Everyone was indifferent about Ambode in 2014,and it took Tinubu a whole lot to sell his candidacy to the leaders,even taking him to the Oba of Lagos.I guess the reason the Oba has been silent on this all along.
If he scales tomorrow's hurdles,expect barrage of attacks towards him. He won't win this battle,I am so sure of this. However,he should know that there are people who know his secrets too. I wouldn't go into few things that are known but his political rivals will sure come attacking back...
