lols. You better get a link at the immigration office. People gets the passport by insider link. That is what i know. Jackossky: Someone should please state the process he/she followed to get an international passport. Really need this What's written in the immigration site is too cumbersome and copious. |

It is good he changed to the one that offered funding. I was just hoping he wasn't about to change that too. If a school offered a good package I expect the student to stick to it until visa is issued. This is my view. Time2win: There is nothing wrong in changing school as far as you have a reason for it. He got GA in the new school, so why can't he change? Or you expect him to stick with same school that didn't offer any funding? |

Well, sweetheart, for some people, maybe luck. But for others, it is a war. Just Imagine the lady that posted her transcript last week. I did mock with her for over 3 months. We have one of the best transcripts on nairaland, full GA, everything was just perfect, yet she was refused 2 times. She almost gave up and told me she would try Canada. I was even saying maybe she would travel to South Africa and return then reapply. But she picked up her self and try for the third time--with the same school( managed to have the GA retained) and she was given. This is why I mentioned consistency. Some people ain't lucky people; all they needed is putting on a fight, pushing and pushing, then it happens. LagosismyHome: Sometimes this thing is just luck jare .... there no magic pill |

Not having fund is not the cause of the denial. What is the interval between when he was last denied and when he changed the school and reapplied? There is something there about these refusals. Predstan: Hi... why dont u overhaul ur applications and look for full funding |
Travel › Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 14 by fairheart(m): 11:15pm On Mar 11, 2019 |
You are not consistent enough. You can't be dabbling from a school to school and expect the VO to take you serious. 2 refusal shouldn't have pushed you to abandon the school; why not push on the third time with the same school, or chill for a year and then reapply? You've got to show you know what you are doing. Have we talked before? Abacino007: I have been denied 4 times 2 for wichita State University 2 For Central Michigan University |

Go on to the page where you fill the DSFORM in 2017 and fill a new application. Note the new application number and copy it; then go to the site you schedule your appointment, click update profile and change the old DS160 Number with the new one. Click save and proceed to scheduling new appointment. Let me know how it goes. It is easy-peasy! Ctemi: Hi people, pls can someone use same DS-160 number that he used in 2017 in 2019? If no, pls how can he change the DS-160 nmbr cos the 2017 DS-160 nmbr was for tourism but now he want to apply as student. Someone should help pls Thanks |

So, I urge all of you to stop this abuses and all. If we cannot joke in between helping students who need one or two supports here, don't comment at all. PLEASE! |

I will not reply... This is what happened when you take things out of context. I was not attacking you; I was just saying it's better she say why she want to switch before you start telling her what to say and all. If you know me, you'll understand I don't have time commenting unnecessary stuffs here. But I needed to say something about this one. bracelum: Hey! Don't just jump on every comment just because you want to say something.
If we allow everyone to come up with their personal reasons, this thread will not be in existence. I'm sure my comment provided some insights to the OP that will be helpful in her visa pursuit.
Thanks for the compliments though. Please don't bother to reply me. |

I think you should let this student come up with her personal reason as to why she want to pursue MS in Data Science. But your view of what she can do with the program is commendable. bracelum: Totally fine! You will get the visa. Data science is everywhere (even in healthcare). If asked by the VO, talk about how you want to become a Data Scientist in the healthcare industry and how your Data Science degree will give you the necessary skills that complement your domain knowledge in healthcare, acquired through your undergrad in Microbiology.
You'll be fine.
Also, since you don't have prior work experience in Data Science, choose a 2-year program. Here are good options to choose from: MS in Data Science (2 years), MS in Statistics (2 years), MS in Biostatistics (2 years). They will all lead you to the same career path, but make sure it is a 2-year degree. |
