justwise:This anti spam boot don show me pepper o. Yesterday, for 24 hours, today too. I no dey post anything against the thread rule. What's happening bro? Please put oil for the thing head. ![]() |
tolulopevoice:I try not be absolute in my responses to questions as I am not a VO. People do get their visas despite having sponsor in the US. However, you may be asked questions about when and how he travelled and what he's doing, depending on the VO you meet. If you meet a VO who is not pleased with having a sponsor in the US, you may be refused. This possibility is there; I see it. But again, depends on the VO you meet. How your interview will end will be determined by the type of VO you meet. You can ask for emergency appointment on the same portal you picked January 4th. The option is right there on the left pane. All the best! |
The Nigerian army is not clean and true to its cause. Those whose hands are clean will freely open their palms for the world to see. They have dead bodies there, if not, why not allow them to investigate this matter? |
NoTimeZone:Pls ask your question here. Let others see it and add their voice too. Except it is personal. |
NoTimeZone:Do your best and let God do the rest! |
lifeofgolden1:Generally speaking, NO. But this is not how the VO think. In his mind, you should be pursuing graduate degree, not undergraduate. If you have been on this thread for over 10 months, then you shoot yourself in the leg. Were you not here when we discuss the application of the guy that was refused in Ukraine, about a month ago? We started that some age are not suitable for undergraduate, at least not before you get the visa. You said you are a professional? Are you saying you already have a first degree? If so, why taking 2 steps backward? Why not move forward with advanced degree? |
lifeofgolden1:Yes, nw we know why!!! Undergraduate at 28? Are you serious? When did you join this thread? |
lifeofgolden1:This one weak me. ![]() What level of degree are you going for? |
Loloking:If he had said it is because of funding, then he'd have indirectly said he's sponsoring himself. And the next question might look like this: who is sponsoring you? If he said uncle, which is likely his case, then it would still lead to refusal. @Petershow! This is my assessment of possible reasons you were refused: 1, scholarship or GA is now one of the criterias to getting an F-1. Before, it doesn't really matter, but now, it seems it plays a big role in how the interview will end, especially when your sponsor is not your parents. People whose sponsor is Mother or Father stands a better chance, though they too must present strong responses to interview questions. It may not be the all-answer to approval, but it scholarship or GA increase your chances. Work towards that, or get another admission that comes with scholarship. 2. Your response to why you're just going to graduate school isn't strong and convincing enough. What happen to saying you did not really plan to get a master's but because there are advanced and emerging innovations and theories in this field that makes you feel inaquate professionally, you realise a master degree is essential for the next phase of your career. I always say this, nobody goes for master's and Phd based on desire; it is need-based -- you go to graduate school because you need it for for better career, to become a specialist, an expert, etc. Your response to why you are just going for this degree should have been crafted around these key reasons. 3. Your response to why this school is also not strong enough. When you mention about career goals and research interest, you left out the research area. That is half answer. You did not personalise your response here. 4. Point 1 to 3 are based on the opinion I have assuming to be in the VO shoes. I am not a VO. Howver, if you follow these points, you should get your visa next time. E sure for me. All the best! |
Okis2kool:You are welcome! |
Lifeisforliving:Use Microsoft Edge browser. This is the most compatible browser for this form. |
nitdude:I replied. |
Ftos:It is simple: 1, pay your visa fee at GTB. Logon to the cgi site here: https://cgifederal.secure.force.com/?country=Nigeria fill in your details and put the reference number on your visa fee receipt. Proceed and book any appointment date you see on the site, even if it is December 2021. Just book. 2. Once you book, the option for "emergency appointment" will show on the left pane menu. Note this. Click on the emergency appointment, which will take you to another page with form to fill. 3. You must have paid your sevis fee and have the confirmation receipt. You must have a scanned copy of your i-20. 4. In the first section of the form, click academic or student. Then compose a short message as to why you need emergency appointment. State your program start date as on i-20 in the message you compose. Indicate the tentative traveling plan you filled in your ds160. 5. Attach your I-20 and sevis. Then submit. If approved, you will be notified to go and pick an ealier date on the site. If refused, you're on your own! All the best! |
With these politicians, it is 1 lie per day, 365 days, all year round. I wish the looters would target and loot these governor's houses and leave struggling Nigerians' stores alone |
Chris525:Don't mind the OP. |
SilverNorGold:Shut up there! Na people like you make politicians keep waxing in wickedness. And you are saying you're a Christian? ![]() The people you mentioned here, do you know how greedy they are? The pallatives have no business in his house till now. It is obvious he's a greedy man, and he's your example. Why did he have to wait till his birthday? He basically keep those widow waiting; so if some of them were hungry, they had to wait until his birthday? Young man, you need to start reading and be receive enlightenment. First, I recommend George Orwell's Animal Farm and 1984 for you to read. Your mind must be liberated! Right now, it's caged because I can see you're highly politically impressionable. |
okpalaAnambra:I am telling you: from today, i will no longer pity any soldier Boko haram kills. Funny thing, it was young people in uniform they sent to these peaceful protesters. Shameful government! Shameful soldiers without moral balls to say no to their wicked superiors. |
StrongInBed:Whether you have entered the street or just started having your phychosis, you're a mad person! Idiot! |
dipdat123:You started losing your opportunity to win over the VO and prove you're a credible student when you used the bold sentence above. This is what happened when you don't prepare for the interview. We have said it time and again, prepare for the interview. Nobody chose a school merely because of ranking. In fact, ranking doesn't matter, but that's what you emphasized on, and the VO knows that Central Michigan University is not really high-ranking university. You're expected to pick a school because of what the school has to offer you. Course structure, opportunity for fund, faculty member, research interest that aligns with your career goals, and program outcome as outline on the program department webpage; what the course will do for you if you study it at this particular school. If you look at what's mentioned in the bold line , you'd see it is not possible to answer the question, why this school, without sounding credible to the VO. Additionally, he gave you another chance by asking you to tell him something unique to you about the school, but you were looking at him confused. I would have also refused you if I were the VO. Sorry, but getting the F1 visa is not just about getting admission, paying sevis fee and filling forms. You gotta be ready to defend the home work you have done during the interview. Go back to your drawing board an make amends and refire. All the best! |
ILoveDemMANNA:When were you born and how old are you? Ask never works with Nigerian politicians. They made peaceful change impossible, therefore, forceful change inevitable. I truly hope you know the demons we call politicians in Nigeria? |
Biodun556:Should government have sent soldiers to kill innocent, peaceful protesters, especially at Lekki, which has been peaceful and well-coordinated from day 1? |
Sugarxx:The protest is there to also draw our attention to what is collectively important to us. The reason 6 out of every 10 young Nigerian wish they have visa to leave Nigeria is because the country is hostile to their potential to thrive and be successful. Which is why getting an ordinary visa has become a symbol of success to us. If you have interview this week, get yourself close to the embassy a day before the interview. Don't make the mistake of leaving your house the morning of the interview, except you are flying. And even if you are flying, make sure you get to Lagos local airport very early. This week and coming week will see more crowd and large pocket of protest, which is necessary until the slave masters at the top release their wicked whips. Nigeria has been abandoned for too many years, hence the reason it's in a pathetic state. If our parents had demanded for restructuring and change to fundamental things, such as how we are governed, how much politicians take, our education system, etc, Nigeria would have been better than this. So, plan yourself ahead. get an hotel close to the embassy, so you will not be delayed and affected by those who are trying to change the country. #EndSARS. #RestructureNigeriaNow |
dollynnn:Okay. You should gratuate by next year hopefully |
Curious2020:I replied in less than 2 hours because you e-mailed me when I was a little free and my computer email app notify me of every incoming message. The whole October is somewhat loosed for me, unlike September. If it is time I have studies or intensive work to do, I might ignore you for 2 months! Again, if you send message to someone and they did not reply, I want you to know it's not always because they are selfish or they don't care; some people are lazy at responding to their emails; some people are not checking their messages; some people registered nairaland with old email address they no longer check or add to their mobile e-mail app.I am going to tell you; without understanding, your adulthood is not complete. Always try to see things from others' perspective. Have understanding. This is not the same as being knowledgeable or intelligent. You're becoming too assertive in your demand for selflessness from others. I want to assume you're a selfless person yourself, because only an unselfish person have the moral ground to demand selflessness from others. To that, I will patiently wait for the time you'll get your visa and travel. I hope you will always come here to help undergraduate students like yourself. |
Hollyholy:Leaving behind your kids increases your chance. I assume the VO will think no mother will abandon their infants or adolescent to go and stay in the US. From this angle, there is no negative impact on your approval. |
samibk:Dude, I actually didn't notice the second bold sentence. Can recall the response you gave in your discussion and share a fresh transcript? And please indicate your school. Your response to interview questions provides insight for others that are about to start the same journey you successfully completed. Share your good news in full! |
solihp:Soliph, to be honest with you, I felt the same way when i saw the transcript. But then, I see things differently, probably because I am not looking for school though. But we have to understand that some people will simply not reveal their schools, and it is up to them. In my opinion, the essence of posting transcript is to reveal the pattern of VO approach to interviews, and how the students fare. I think the focus should be on understanding how the student performed during the interview to get the visa. School name has nothing to do with that. Yet, I have to agree with the bold line, what is worth doing, is worth doing well...but...it is up to the person doing the work to choose how they want it done. It is all good! ![]() |
Janet200:No! You're wrong! He own the right to leave the transcript as he wanted it. You don't have to know his school. He is not obliged to reveal it. Students on this thread have the habit of copying, the habit of "bombing" universities they see that one student has been approved visa to attend. Note that not all students on this thread found the school they applied to and got admission and visa, on this thread. I think you are displeased because you're interested in his school. You can search for your own school and apply. APSU, from about 3 years ago until last fall, was bombed so much that the school reduced its stipend to $150 from initial $600 in 2018-2019 section. Yes, the school might be having limited funding after taking in many Nigerians, but I kinda believe it is not ideal if every student want to apply to the same school a visa-approved student is going. Just look for your own school. Do your own home work. Use google, use search strings. Affordable Universities in US for Master's in Healthcare Administration, etc. Almost all the students I am currently conducting mock for searched their own schools. There is a particular lady on this thread who searched the entire universities offering Master's in communication in the U.S! I mean every single university in every US state that offers master degree in communication. Imagine searching schools in every US state? That is the type of work I am talking about. Now she has almost full funding with minor deficit. Conclusively, don't dare be lazy about this process! Invest energy and time for broad research on schools. If you are angry that people are hiding their schools, get it right: they don't have to reveal it. Search for your own schools, apply, do the work, and get your visa too. When it is time to share your transcript, choose whether to reveal or hide it. Nobody is obliged to do it. All the best to everyone! |
